A pretty good Cctv camera

It looks pretty good daytime and nighttime. I will give him 100% good video.

Bought a couple years ago, would buy again

I bought this on the recommendation of "The Hook Up" youtube channel. It covers my driveway and works perfectly for it's application. I read that the Duo 3 has less vertical FOV, which is why I chose the Duo 2 instead

Good camera, but no sound.

Camera works well and has the 180 degree view as advertised. The only issue I have, is its inability to turn on the microphone. I have three of this type of cameras and none has a sound setting I can turn on. I get a 'Loading Failed'.

I've added the Reolink Gigabit PoE Injector to bust power, but still the same issue on all my 4K PoE cameras.

Great camera but BIG Waste of Money

Don't waste your money. I had my camera set up outdoors and it worked fine from February 28th of 2025 until June 2025 and then just quit. It appears that they only give you a one month warranty for such and expensive camera. I should have learned with my other experiences with Reolink. Similar issue and NO SUPPORT. There are other camera companies with better quality and more reasonable pricing then Reolink. In their defense I have two of there cameras that are no longer sold that are remarkable.

Almost perfect outdoor security camera that gets ruined by sunlight

This is the best Duo camera Reolink makes because of the fantastic horizontal FOV. The Duo 3 is way too narrow horizontally allowing large dead zones underneath. It's fairly easy to install and no worries about reception or power since it's a POE camera.

The main problem is that even though it's an "outdoor" camera, too much sunlight will ruin it and make the image pink tinted. I have had other cameras out in the same place for years and never had this issue. This Duo 2 turned pink after only 4 months. Pretty ridiculous.

I'm not sure what the solution is. I guess you can't have any Duo 2 cameras monitoring the East or West side of your property because they'll always get ruined in a matter of months. My other Duo 2, bought on the same day, facing North seems to not have a problem. Also a CX410 I have facing East for longer than this is totally fine. I had a different branded camera facing South getting tons of sunlight for a year and a half and it was also fine. It had other issues, but pink-tinted image wasn't one of them.

So it's only an issue with the Duo 2. Too bad because it worked really well, and had very wide coverage that you would otherwise need multiple cameras to cover. Now I'm worried about the other 6 Reolink cameras I put around my property. There's only 1 other Duo 2, but I'm still worried.

Mount broke

It’s a great camera, except the mount broke. I have no idea how it happened (see the included video). The metal part was/is attached to a tree. The plastic part suddenly failed somehow.

Great camera performance, but so-so mechanical design

I used this 180° FOV camera to replace a 9-year-old Hikvision that had about half the FOV. What a commanding view I now have of my entire back yard! The color images and resolution of this camera are also leaps and bounds ahead of that 9-year-old Hikvision.

Set up to make it recognized by Synology Surveillance Station was a little tricky, but not terrible. I needed to configure the Reolink with the same static IP address that I used for the outgoing Hikvision camera, and there is no way do that via the Reolink iOS app. So I downloaded the Windows version of the Reolink app, and tried to find the camera on my network using the automatic scans offered by the Reolink Windows app, but it could not find the camera. I then tried manually directing the Windows app to the camera's DHCP-assigned address, but that also didn't work. I finally typed in the serial number of the new camera into the app, and then the app found the camera immediately. After I was in, I changed it to the static IP address, and then configured my Synology software for the

new Reolink camera - no problem, everything worked as expected after that.

Mechanically, the Reolink camera isn't as ruggedly-designed as the Hikvision - the Reolink mast mount is made of plastic and feels a bit flimsy, whereas the Hikvision was made of metal and has withstood 9 years of Michigan hot summers and cold winters with no issues. More importantly, the cabling that connects the camera to your network's Ethernet is left exposed to the elements with this Reolink design, which is a decidedly-amateur approach compared to the Hikvision that had all the cabling neatly protected inside the metal housing that mates to the junction box on your house. I would be very surprised if this Reolink lasts anywhere close to the 9 years that the Hikvision was installed (and was still going strong by the way; I only replaced because I wanted a wider field-of-view). All that said, the Reolink camera is about 1/3-1/4 the price that I paid for the Hikvision, so if it lasts at least a few years, I suppose I can just get another one.

Great Camera - Installation Could Improve

This camera is excellent and provides a seamless plug-and-play experience, especially if you’re transitioning from another Reolink PoE camera. I previously had a bullet camera installed in the same spot, but I wanted a wider field of view to see our walkway, which this camera delivers (see before and after pictures). I love the camera’s light, which is extremely bright even with PoE. This is particularly convenient since it’s located over my driveway. The smart detection feature that activates the light is also very well thought out. For instance, in my case, the light only turns on when a car is detected specifically in my driveway, not on the street.

Additionally, the ONVIF feature with HTTPS disabled allowed me to pair this camera with Homekit through Scrypted. However, I’m lowering the rating to 4 stars because there’s no way to completely conceal the cable.

Worked for a week

I put 3 of these in my crawlspace after sealing the crawlspace. One of the cameras has had constant issues that started after about a week of use. No amount of reboots or resets will cure the latest behavior as seen in the video. The camera is worthless now. I am past my return window so I guess sucks for me. I will avoid this brand in the future. 1/3 failure rate isn't great.

Perfect for my use case.

Upgraded from a Reolink RLC-510 to the Duo 2 for the wide field of view. Easy to setup on my network and Blue Iris. Video quality is very good. Especially like that the two camera images are stitched together nearly perfectly and that the software allows you to dial it in, if needed. The LED security lights are also very effective, and configurable to illuminate when a hunan, dog or car is detected, switching automatically from night vision to color.

Love it

It’s is like buying two cameras it gives you way larger area and it’s kind of an alarm alarm and a spotlight and it motion attack when somebody walks by or something. It’s way better than my old ones. lol talk text you get it

Great cam for viewing 180 degrees

Great cam for viewing 180 degree angle. It says 4K but IMHO if you are recording 4 K you should be able to see license plates clearly at the distance I have this camera set at when you zoom in on them. You can not! Night time vision is very good and if there is enough light it is in color.

Good quality image

This is a solid product. Takes good footage where I installed it. Easy to use.

Exactly what I needed.

I was looking to update my 3mp cameras to higher quality and this camera is great! Finding a camera that has RTSP and good day / night was my goal. Being able to see almost 180 degrees let me replace 2 cameras with "1". I have this and a few other cameras feeding into a Zoneminder NVR and it works great. I disabled all the detection on the camera so unsure how those work but I accidentally set off the alarm when testing and man that thing will get your attention quick.

I do with I could change the font color of the timestamp but that is a small issue.

Good one but have problem!

Good one but have problem! From 2 side by side cameras one have some problem.

Legit 180 Degree Left to Right viewing.

Painted my camera Brown and had to customize the mount but overall im pleased. Unit performs flawlessly. You really have to mount this camera in a place where it can view Far left and Far right to maximize the benefits. Any obstruction will have the picture looking very awkward.

Wide eye in the sky!

This 180 degree wide angle camera replaced 2 cameras at once. The view from this camera was amazing and clear! If you have to buy one camera to cover a large area, this is clearly the best one.

One camera has red tint. Update: Reolink sent replacement

I am on my second Reolink system (left our old one at our previous home), and up until now had been very satisfied with their products.

One of the cameras in the Duo 2 we received has a red tint that can’t be removed. Support has been in contact, but nothing resolved as of yet. Waiting to see if they need to replace, or need to return.

The connection wire(s) on this camera are also not something that can be hidden in the Ethernet cable hole above mount. All of my previous cameras had the connecting Ethernet wires run through the mount, to deter any potential tampering or cutting of unsavory individuals. This is not possible with this camera. Not a deal breaker, just a gripe about the design flaw for security.

If/when Reolink can resolve our red tint issue, I will gladly update review.

Upon contacting Reolink customer service, I was asked to perform a few troubleshooting steps that took less than 5 minutes. After the issue persisted, a replacement camera was sent to me at no charge. They also provided a return label for me to drop off defective camera at post office.

I still feel I can’t give five stars due to the POE wire not hidden in frame of the camera, but the camera view and clarity is very good.

Pierce

Easy to set up, bright spotlights.

This camera gets very hot during use but mine has not shutdown or had any other problems because of it. Viewing angles are huge and clear. See picture.

Great upgrade from older models

I bought a pair of these to upgrade a set of RLC-410s I had on the front of my house pointed in opposite directions to give me a wide view, and a RLC-411 on the side. I did have some blind spots, which were taken care of by the Duo cameras. I also gained quite a bit more vertical coverage which was an unexpected bonus.

I have seen the reviews of folks complaining about the stitching of the streams not being lined up well enough, and I could tell that mine were off just a bit after putting them up, but under the Advanced section of the Display settings, you can make adjustments to the focal distance, vertical and horizontal alignments. I only needed a couple of ticks here and there to get mine lined up as close to perfect as I needed. Maybe the other reviewers hadn't found that section yet?

I use BlueIris, and record constantly, so motion detection isn't a priority. Like everyone else, I did have to enable ONVIF and other options under Network->Server Settings. But once those were on, I was able to get them going under BlueIris pretty quickly.

Night vision is pretty good, until you try to digitally zoom in. Then the quality drops considerably, but that's to be expected. Audio pick up is also good, and clear. I haven't tested the 2 way talk, or used the spot lights as I don't need those functions. All in all, I'm happy with them so far

Multiple defects! Not ready for public use. Reolinks worst camera yet!

Amazing camera, but way too many defects.

What I liked:

1. The wide angle picture is amazing! Captures everything in view!

2. Built in security light! Love this feature!

So many problems!

1. Camera keeps locking up forcing a reboot. The new firmware update seems to have made it worse.

2. Unable to connect with RTSP so I have no way of recording the video feed. I confirmed with support that I was using the correct URL, but it will not connect. No problem connecting to my other Reolink cameras.

3. Low resolution picture. Could just be their built in software, but it's not high resolution, you can clearly see pixelation even in "Fluent" setting.

4. Image has pink spots. See my screen shot. I'm concerned there are quality control problems with their image sensors.

5. Camera runs HOT! No cooling. No sun shroud. Outer case painted block to further make things worse. This can't be good for the electronics. I expect these will start failing after a few months of service.

6. Camera keeps jumping IP addresses. This was fixed by a firmware update, but still demonstrates the lack of quality control since it was shipped this way.

7. Horrible fisheye! If you can real time stitch images together, then you can real time correct for spherical abortion, but that has not been done.

8. No connectivity LED's Is it on? Working? Who knows!

9. Software does not support downloading of updates. You have to manually hunt for the update and do it yourself.

10. Does not display software revision. At least I couldn't find it. It's not displayed next to the update button!

OK. That's enough. I'm done with this camera. Good luck with it everyone!

Wow! Great camera, once you know the secret.

This camera is very cool, especially at this price point. Whenever my cat walks into the frame, an icon of a Paw shows up on the screen. That is cool. The white LED lights are Bright as Heck! Maybe too bright. The lowest intensity setting is still very bright. There is an App for the Mac! You don't see that very often with these types of devices. The built in speaker is loud enough to scare the heck out of someone creeping around at night. Body is plastic on the white part and metal on the front black part. This metal gets very hot when the white LEDs run. The focus is good. The stitching is nearly perfect without any adjustment. The resolution is good on the 4k model that I have. Max bitrate of 8192 is more than enough to cover this resolution with no visible compression artifacts.

HERE is the reason that I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. The camera comes with ONVIF, Bonjour, HTTP, RTSP, and RTMP Turned OFF! Ummmm, I think we need some of those for the camera to work. The port settings are hidden, in the app, under network, advanced, and scroll way down to the bottom to find the secret port settings button. Once I turned these on, the camera worked great with my NVR software. But what a waste of time figuring it out!

My new favorite camera for Synology NAS

This is my new favorite. Sorry Amcrest. Now for the slow process of replacing every camera at every house...

Prior to setting it up on the Synology:

On the Reolink camera you MUST get on the camera via a browser and turn on RTSP. If you don't do this, it will disconnect after you add the camera to Synology. It is off by default. This little nugget will drive you crazy so don't forget to do it. It is in System, network settings, port setting and scroll down. Onvif must be on as well, but it should turn on when you turn on RTSP.

Don't forget to set a static IP address while you are there and then you are all set!

As of this writing, Synology Surveillance Station does not yet have this camera in its library, so I had to use the following settings:

Add the camera manually and select the Reolonk RLC-820A. It only takes one license because the dual camera feeds are stitched together in the camera itself.

Use HTTPS on port 443.

The video format needs to be H.265 if you want hi-rez.

Format is 3840x2160.

The image I uploaded shows that it is covering at least 170 degrees from what I can tell. If this thing survives the arctiv blast coming next week I will be buying plenty more. Thank you Reolink!

Skyy

Was just about to return this thing until...

Not gonna lie, I almost returned it bc I mistakenly thought it had no web gui. I chose this particular device due to the 180° FOV. My last camera was a 170° FOV and I really didn't want to settle for less than that once it finally died. Monitoring on my mobile devices was ok but I wanted to be able to view it from my computer monitor while in the office. I settled on installing the app via an emulator but it kept freezing and disconnecting. FRUSTRATING!

Not sure why I didn't realize this early on, but the light bulb went off and I went to the Reolink website to see if there was a client download and, lo and behold, there was! Installed it and am now happy to say that I love this camera. I see now why the reviews are so good.

Now, if you've read any of my reviews on my previous Circle View 2 camera, you know I'll update this if for some reason things go south. But for now 4 STARS. Would be 5, but the provided ceiling mount is horrendous. I used another that I happened to have instead. Other than that, so far I'm super happy with this thing and would highly recommend it.

Not all functions are working

Picture quality is amazing. Pictures show regular reolink camera i had before compared to the wide angle. My problem is that i cant use half the functions. I already updated my nvr, reset settings and ran new good quality cable to the camera. And still wont let me enable it to trigger the lights, detection zones or settings or adjust sensitivity ect. If not for that it would have 5 stars. Would return but already threw away the box and honestly dont want to go through the hassle of returning it. If i cant get it to work might just go back to my old camera. Just disappointed I spent over a hundred bucks on it for those functions.

Amazing night luminosity!

I've had a Reolink NVR and many cameras since 2019. Including 2K's 4K's, 3x and 5x zoom. This 2022 180° Ultra-Wide has THE BEST night luminosity of ALL other Reolink cameras I own. It's low-light sensitivity and clarity is the best.

It's wide view can actually replace what it normally takes 3 regular cameras to see, if you don't mind a bit of fisheye lens view.

The stitching of the 2 camera images into one image is excellent.

The only downside is a loss of functionality for the older NVR. Backlight, audio and motion detection will not work. Which is an unavoidable aspect of progress in their NVR technology.

Just What I

Very simple hook up especially since I had the cable already ran….plug & play. The night vision is awesome & so is day time. This video & picture are from the app on my iPad so it shows in panorama view. On the Reolink DVR the picture is more square and compacted but still looks great. I can see from one end of my block to the other which is very nice. My wife calls it a snow globe view and I bet it’s going to look awesome when it does snow here in Iowa. Night view is a bit lighter on my 50” TV I use with my DVR. I didn’t even have to make any adjustments to it cause I though it was great just the way it is. The mic is very good to…you can hear just about everything around your house & across the street. Motion detection seems to work great but my cameras run 24/7 and I use other means to notify me of an intrusion.

Does NOT work at advertised distance

Right now it is at 250 feet and does not operate with high quality pure copper cable. Plan on moving to different location within 15 feet of receiver to see the results. Will update later. Do not buy if you need it to be over 100 feet of receiver
