Great everywhere but Wifi

Great quality over ethernet or right next to your router, listed as 2.4G or 5G and is able to auto negotiate the band or (pretends to have a band option) but wont let you switch off of the current band. Even holding it right next to my router it was reading at best -60dbm and couldnt connect to the network over 5 or 6 feet away. The picture is showing it right next to my router still reading as a very weak signal, so unless I got a faulty unit im unsure wether this is a capable wifi camera, which is disappointing since I haven't head issues with any of thier other models.

Used item shipped to me

We have used lots of Reolink cameras and love them. However when I ordered this one it arrived with the seal already broken. And that was not how I ordered it.

Nice 360 view camera

So far so good. Purchased to enable me to watch the activity of my well behaved mini labradoodle. I am a full time traveler and having this camera in my motorhome is absolute plus. Working and in hand I can leave my pet with known knowledge of power failures, video surveillance and temperature monitoring. This was my choose for the 5g and WiFi capability. Easy setup and I didn’t hard wire and the delay is manageable. Love the motion detection as well. Enough said.

I thankful only purchased one. Maybe some are refurbished and it's not stated as such. After opening I installed the memory card (and wish I hadn't) which is in a VERY odd place to put a memory card (a VERY low section of the black of the camera that tilts up and down). Considering now that my camera won't tilt up, I can't get it out/believe it is jammed like some others have experienced 🙄. Unlike some others it is reading my memory card as there so idk specifically why it won't tilt up fully. It won't connect wirelessly but I have an Ethernet chord and that works. Great camera quality. The chord belongs to something else plus I'm not prepared to make a long ugly wire adjustment to my home. I can't return it because I'm past the date sadly. At this point I am doing to try and disassemble it and see what happened if possible because I can't manually tilt the camera with my hands to get the card out like I had to to put it in (not out of frustration. It's how you get to the slot). Also I tried one more attempt to go back to work the wifi option and I'm being told to press the HARD reset button. Where you ask? Conveniently near the memory card 🥴 IF you decide to go reolink....maybe the most modern models are better. I'm basically going elsewhere now. So much for the good feeling of a sale. 🤷🏾‍♀️ 3min video removing SD card. And photo of card slot next to hard reset button.

Not good for indoor baby/toddler rooms

The good: great customer service

Affordable? Sure.

The bad:

1) No RTSP or streaming outside of the app. I don’t need a 837475th app. Can’t even do home assistant with it.

2) VERY noisy when it moves. Wakes up baby if accidentally adjusted.

3) At night it’s basically a nightlight. My iPhone doesn’t capture the light correctly (it’s faint and blue - this picture makes it look brighter than real life) but it straight up illuminates the room.

Power connection sucks

This adapter is just one tiny barrel piece that doesn't stay connected well. The camera will switch to night mode and it will dislodge just from that tiny amount of movement - movement it does itself. It doesn't click into place or anything to make it stable. I have two of these and they both do the same thing. I have taped the caboe down and everything to try to reduce movement, I can't seem to get it to stay powered. This didn't start until about a month after purchasing, so of course I can't return them.

I thought there was a chance I could save my purchase by powering them over Ethernet but after trying it doesn't have PoE. That's my bad from not looking through the description better. But basically I have two useless cameras, so... Don't buy this one. Buy a camera with a better power adapter.

I will say that the camera itself works well when I can get it to power on. Haha. I like that I can view and control via the app, but doesn't do much good if it doesn't have power.

ONVIF compatibility

These are not ONVIF capable out-of-the-box. You have to configure it via the Windows reo app. See picture.

I have 2 orders of these a week apart. The first order for Black units was made in China. The current order for White units was made in Vietnam. They seem identical in every way except the color and wall wart power supply. These have great picture quality. If you're using these from a house window, you can turn off the lights to eliminate reflection. Can't speak for sound as I don't care about that for my use. Of all the brands and models I've used in the past, these are the best (and most expensive), that I have used. Very much worth the money when 33% discount is available.

EDIT 12/27/24 After a few weeks of trying, I cannot get these cameras to be solid ONVIF performers. Not only do they lose connection, they lose the ability to re-connect via ONVIF and require you to delete the cameras and completely reinstall them. This is time consuming and I was never able to get all 4 cameras going at one time using ispy agent.

HOWEVER, if you only have ReoLink cameras, their ReoLink app for PCs works very well, as it does not require ONVIF for the cameras at all. I'm pretty happy with it, as I was scrapping my old cameras and replacing them with the E1 Pros. The ReoLink app is pretty capable and fairly straightforward to learn.

I don't use my smartphone to monitor the cameras at all.

Working great so far

This Reolink camera works great and the motion movement tracking works well. I’m satisfied so far. The camera works on dual band , which is great. The set up is easy. I would recommend others to buy and would buy again

S

So far so good!

It does as promised

It was packaged well... it's easy to link to your wifi. At first when I plugged it in, it would not stop talking and repeating the welcome. After syncing with the wifi and the app, everything was smooth. Not a bad purchase. The quality is good enough for the price, and tracks the person as promised. I may buy another.

A great purchase!

I bought this camera in January of 2023 for the sole purpose of checking on my dogs when I must leave them alone for several hours. I set it up myself--- it sits on my kitchen counter. I have used it countless times with nary a problem. The audio is not clear on my end, but my boys always respond to my voice. I have the peace of mind of knowing they are all right. I have many recordings, but most are too long. I definitely recommend this camera, and the price was reasonable with no fees involved.

I really wanted to like them, but

I really wanted to like this company after looking at Arlo and all the other big names. I decided that I liked their pricing strategy and product features even though other software is buggy and the controls for talking are archaic. I still would’ve given it. A five star war not for its lack of customer service and product defect.

Every few minutes my camera on its own, decides to max out and turn all the way to one side does a buzzing sound, and then reset itself back to the viewing area. All the cameras that I bought from Reolink do this. I called customer support they were supposed to get back to me they never did. Yes, I have updated the software and firmware and no, it’s not user error; have built many computes, done Some programming can make my own network cable drive a motorcycle, drive Stick shift, Do some maintenance and repairs on my Ferrari 458, install electrical outlets at home, repair small electronics. Solder … You get the picture

Best Bang for Your Buck | Fee-Free

I am REALLY happy with this product. Set one up for my mom's house with SD card local storage. Tested and set up all the features. Has great night vision abilities, love the auto-tracking feature, love that you can pan around in an almost 360* view. Overall super happy to have done my research in looking for a camera that's fee-free and "best bang for your buck".

I feel like too many camera services offer monthly subscription based systems that I'm not very fond of. I prefer a one-time purchase where I can set-up and maintain my own cameras without any issues.

Features include: panning around, night vision, notification sending, alert sounding, 2-way communication, playback, zooming, being able to share camera's with other Reolink app users (via QR code). Almost certain I haven't even explored the full extent of all of the camera's features / abilities, but I'm super happy so far :)

Works very well with Blue Iris

Works well with blue Iris. To work with BI you have to use the Reolink windows app to turn on RTSP and ONVIF in the network settings. These are disabled by default. Camera’s image is very clear and night vision covers my 10ftx10ft shed nicely. Wireless range is good. I can’t speak to wireless stability though, mine is connected via Ethernet. Can go weong with this little cam. Took a bit of tinkering to get it to work but BI can also control the PTZ functionality.

This particular model doesn’t stay on monitor point. Too much for the value that doesn’t make it work right. Image quality is good but not great when it zooms in. Not as easy to navigate or pans like E1 indoor.

Works great!

Originally purchased this camera so I could watch my dog when I’m not at home. It took me a little bit to get comfortable with the app and the interface. But once I did, I was able to figure it out and use the playback. THATS where I found there was movement in the middle of the night and found out I had a mouse in my apartment! So thankful for the great quality video, night vision and easy playback and download features.

Josh Banks

Overall great camera for the price

I love this camera other than the fact that it doesn’t come with an SD card when it requires one to use the playback feature.

SPrz

Very good price for its quality and ability to control movement

Most cameras that you can control are quite expensive, this one however is a a great price and good quality. I mounted it outside of my room, upsidedown and have it connected to my PC. Only 4 stars because the software is a bit buggy, when I enter fullscreen mode I can no longer open the camera controls(even after exiting fullscreen the controls will not open), I have to exit the software and start it again. For now I open the control UI and THEN go fullscreen. It is an indoor camera but I am using it outdoors, it already survived 5 days of rain👍

Get a wifi extender

I liked the standard cameras we got the first time as well. The QR code is a tiny little sticker on the bottom of the camera…scan it first…then your phone will display a large QR code for the camera to scan.

Once we got a wifi extender it worked great. I returned the first set we got because I didn’t think of the wifi extender until the next day. The Reolink app and ease of set up as well as picture quality is why I ordered from them again. When at work the app works fabulous even over cellular.

I definitely recommend now. Day one and the inability of the camera to pick up the wifi signal downstairs when both our phones had full strength signals was frustrating though. Glad I stuck with them. Good cameras.

Only improvement I would suggest to Reolink is somehow…I don’t how…but make moving the camera a bit smoother…maybe turn the sensitivity down by half and reduce the motor speed?? Right now it’s pretty touchy the way you have it set. Also, turn the gain up on the wifi receiver!

All in all a good product.

Not really alexa compatible

Alexa will definitely find the camera once you go into the cloud icon and click on the smart home section and enable the camera. Only then will alexa find the camera. Which nothing in the directions speak anything of how to set it up with alexa. I figure this out on my own. Once I got alexa to find it she is incapable of opening the video link to view anything? So what is the point of connecting if you can even view anything?..returning this for sure.. my whole point is to keep all things connected in 1 app. I'm sure it's great if you just use the reolink app and this is the only thing you need.great features and clear video for just dog watching when you aren't around. Only use it for an hour till I realized it didn't work with alexa then disconnected and bought another brand.

We absolutely love these cameras. We have 2 of them and they have been really good for what you pay for, app is not hard to use and linking and set up was a breeze!

Worth every penny

I was skeptical over the low cost. Wow, pleasantly suprised. The setup fairly easy, picture was amazing, good range of motion.

You need the SD card if you want to keep videos, not necessary if you're using it to peek on your pups, kids, etc.

For security reasons you need it. You have to plug it in not wireless. You can use speak thru it if you're not home wasn't to freak out your pups lol.

It has a button thru app sets off alarm. Great buy.

Good picture quality, reliability may be an issue

Bought two Reolink E1 Pros. I really like the picture quality, and the ability to pan and tilt (NOTE: these cameras do NOT have optical zoom, the only option for zooming is to zoom in on the image in software).

The picture is way better, both day and night, than the Wyze cam v2 I bought earlier, and the price is not that much higher.

Also integrates nicely with Home Assistant through the Onvif integration, with access to both the high-res and low-res streams, and ability to control the pan and tilt and access presets (presets have to be created in the Reolink app).

Unfortunately, today one of the two cameras I bought started showing a bunch of pink/red lines throughout the image. Tried rebooting the camera a few times. Checked the Reolink app in case the issue was on the Onvif side, but the lines showed up in the Reolink app as well. The picture shows the camera aimed at a blank white wall.

As a last resort, tried resetting the camera, to no avail. So this one will go back. Hopefully my second camera will fare better.

The perfect 2.4/5g Camera on the market!!!!

I started with a reolink camera 3 years ago. The camera lasted me 3 years before it started acting up. Which I think I did by accident. So I ordered another reolink camera because the first was so amazing. I upgraded to the E1 Pro. The set up was easy, but it didnt want to configure so I emailed reolink customer service and it was fixed quickly. It works perfectly. The night vision is incredible. I am so proud of this little camera. The picture is a huge upgrade from the first one I had, it's perfect. The night vision is automatic, The recorder only records when motion is detected. The App is easy to navigate. I would recommend the Reolink Brand above all others. Especially if anyone has a router that supports 2.4/5g both. A lot of the other brands lie and say there camera supports 5g and when u get it, it clearly does not. I went through 4 Cameras before I ordered the first Reolink. I will stick with This brand always. It's perfect in every way and customer service is very nice and patient.

Mr. Amusing

It works... But cannot be used for recording surveillance because a memory card will NOT work.

First, the unit doesn't come with a microSDHC memory card. That's perhaps to be expected at this low price point. However I am unable to get any card to seat in the device, so the recording capability is impossible and if you intend to use this for home security, it just won't work.

The memory card can only go in one way, but there are two problems here. One, you have to force the camera to rotate up by hand (which is a bit scary), and 2 the only way to get the card to stay in is to hold it in while you rotate the camera down... but then it will "stick" if you try to rotate it back up.

So in a nutshell, the recording/playback feature is broken because the microSDHC card cannot be used. I note that I'm not the only one to report this problem - and the problem is serious if you want to actually record video. As a

consequence, the motion recording feature is rather useless, as are most of the controls for constraining what area of the image are inspected for motion (by default all)

Others have pointed out one of the other problems with this device... the app (for android) is well featured, and easy to use, BUT there is no browser support. If I want to check on the dog remotely, I have to break out my phone or a device. Setting up a second device isn't terribly hard. It requires sharing a QR code and knowing the password. Sharing the QR code won't be so easy if you are trying to allow a remote user to use/see.

For reasons that are not clear to me that app gets relatively low marks in both the Android and Apple Store. Other than wasting screen space with icons that are too small (in portrait mode), I found it easy to navigate.

I haven't tried using the "Cloud Storage" or "Smart Home" features. I suspect Cloud Storage is going to require a payment of some kind.

This app seems to have one problem nearly all device based apps have... it's cumbersome to login/logout because you have to type. Typing on phones or tablets (without a keyboard) is tedious and results in people picking very short passwords that are easy to enter. While I can link LastPass (an app) and use it with this app to enter those longer, more secure username and password, those who want secure passwords will find it more tedious than, say using a finger swipe on devices with finger print readers.

You can Zoom in on the scene with the two-finger enlarge gesture and that's convenient. Obviously this is a digital zoom, not an actual zoom.

The Pan/Tilt/Zoom feature is a little cumbersome as it goes pretty fast and you many not have a strong enough connection to get good feedback.

One problem with the device itself is that it offers a "Talk" and an "Alarm" feature. But there doesn't appear to be any way to change the volume level on the device. The "Alarm" is faint enough that it's not going to be heard more than a room away. Likewise when I try to use the device to Talk, its not loud enough for anyone to really notice... so you won't be able to tell your pet to "DROP THAT".

Awesome reliable wi-fi cams!

I purchased an entire Reolink system w/ 8-port NVR, and added 3 of these wi-fi cams on to the system to view the garage, and pets while we're not home, etc.. Super easy setup, the NVR saw them immediately, and they work great. Both day and night vision are amazing quality! I assigned them static IP addresses in my router so it's easy to access them directly as well with a browser (just look in your router for device called E1 or something like that). When you access them directly via browser you have more control/options than when accessing via the NVR, because the cams have their own internal menus. Like I said, I bought 3 of these, And I would buy them again if I need more!

Let me tell you about this camera

Ho-lee-crap. This thing was so simple to install. Like, that one girl from high school (you know who), yeah that type of easy to install. The app is basic (like that other girl) and the booklet explains everything. Can’t beat that price either!
