Good quality pictures. Bought these cameras 4 years ago. You would think for 100+ bucks a camera that they would last a little longer than that. 2 of the 5 down already.
One turned black and white and lost sound
The other is flashing and freezing and randomly no connection.
Already swapped camera spots and cables to see if it was a connection issue.
4 years is not worth the 1000 bucks I spent.

Reolink Security Camera System: Nice!
Very easy installation. (Our house was prewired during build) Worked like a charm as soon as I powered it up. We are using the app instead of a monitor. Now to learn the ins and outs of the settings to customize it to my preferences. So far, it was a good buy and worth the price.

Piece of junk, only last 3 years and 5 months
They stopped to work one day after 3 years 5 months, the NVR and 3 cameras just turn off, and I thought that only the NVR was fried but after connected the cameras to another equipment I realized that cameras weren't working as well, I call them and Tech support isn't available all the time you probably have to get off from work earlier to catch them depending the time zone you live, also they don't speak clear English you got to figure and guess what the person over the phone is saying, anyway good luck of you buy this piece of crap

Less than a year HDD failed
HDD started making grinding sounds. Attempting to get the HDD replaced under warranty ended up in 1.5 hour discussion online where I was asked to record videos (like the one provided) and to flash the firmware, and to move the HDD to external port to confirm it was failed (for which I have no cabling). The company does not seem to honor the warranty on their products. I'm going to buy my own HDD to replace this one. You might have a better experience.
So there is a positive resolution to this, the new drive fixed the issue with the main unit.

Low Res in Mobile App
I intended to upgrade cameras from 720 to 1080. But in the Mobile app for Reolink it is grainy. Reolink focuses on recording not livestreaming in app. Disappointed at mobile app functionality. The app for my older camera (Zosi) has better resolution in mobile app. Remote access is my bread and butter. Note: You can't change Reolinks resolution in Mobile App

For the price and some patience it's a good deal.
I knew the system i wanted but i didn't want to shell out the extra$$ so i took a chance and got this one.
I have 3 of the 4 cameras at the end of 150' of cat5e and they are working as they should. The quality of the video is pretty good between day and night. Cameras have come a long way in the last 10 years as technology is always advancing and these things get better and smaller. With that said i installed them in under my soffits near the gutter downspouts. You can see them if you look but just glancing at the house they are blended right in.
Now.. The software... Seriously? I had to scroll pages to see the cameras and needed to do a system reset to get the 3 cameras on the same page. Software is clunky but manageable. Obviously addressing the cameras didn't work and a few times while logged into the system the camera told me that i had an invalid username and or password. After the system reset/restore i didn't have this problem but I'm kind of dreading installing the 4th camera.. Will it pop up in the 4th box or will it just go on it's own screen?
Despite this I really do think that this system is one of the best bangs for the $$. I did set this up prior to the install to make sure that all 4 cameras and cables were working along with the NVR.
If your on the fence about getting this just do it.

Plug and play!
Yup! works great!
OMG! Soooo, COOL! I think, someone should say something about the abilities of this DVR as a stand alone network, making numerus extremely remote configurations available with no limitations that I can see... For instance; I have this Unit on My Boat which is in a storage yard in another city, My Reolink NVR and four Reolink cameras keep an eye on things while connected with a YeacommYF-P11 broadband internet connection. EZ to setup and very convenient to Click my Relink app on My (desktop and) phone app (FROM ANYWHERE), brings up all my home cameras AND the 4 boat cameras, they all pop up in the same view (all 18 cameras in the same view) in real time video just like the boat was here in My Back yard. That's just one of many unlimited applications for watching your property.
HINT: I use Net10wireless.com hotspot sim card (speedtest.net says running at 30m) and set up all cameras and DVR locally 1st in DHCP mode (NOT static).
Reolink makes this EZ to set up this configuration as stated, I now have Broad band internet on My Boat (Vehicle, Plane, Train), can share with all devices, locally can wirelessly share with all people and recommend to all! Oh yeah, 10-28-2021 the end of the month and I haven't even come close to running outta data not even half way yet. Roll over? I don't think so but, would be nice. I don't think this would have even been possible even last year, right?!!

Horrible Warranty Service, Nighttime Vision is horrible
I've had this product for 1.5 years. I have had to return four cameras because they ALL get moisture in them and their supposed 4k vision maybe happens in daylight ONLY. At night (picture attached) you'll be lucky to make out anything. The lens develops spots inside from condensation and it ruins the optics. When you try to get warranty service they make you jump through endless hoops even when you send a picture of the camera or the view from the camera; claiming it is a firmware issue (LOL). They are hesitant to stand behind their product so be weary of spending $600, especially if the system works intermittently like mine. Buyer beware!

Best 4K system for the price!
This is my 1 year review. This system is the best one i have ever owned. Clear video, Play back feature is easy to operate on app (little harder on DVR) so I use app mostly, I can see my house from anywhere in the world (better on WiFi). I saved my neighbors from a lengthy insurance claim. They bought me a gift card to my favorite cigar spot.. lol.. Check out the video I posted here of a dump truck hitting my neighbors sign. I even bought 2 more cameras to make it 6 and plan to add 2 more in a couple weeks. Just because I know this is a great system. I highly recommend this system. For those on a budget and want quality 4K video footage. Also, i recommend the 8 megabit camera version for a crisper video. Hope this helps?

Of only....
The system so far is good quality, however I'm leaving 4 stars because, if your going to include a mouse... make sure it doesn't arrive broken into several pieces. Honestly, the mouse is not super important to me, I can get one super cheap someplace else. But, if I'm spending $500 plus on a system and you include a mouse.... It should probably NOT show up like this. Pictures included. Camera pic for size reference. Overall a pretty robust system.

Great picture and plug and play, great customer service
This is a very easy plug and play unit. The hardest part was running ethernet cable through the house, bought cable in bulk and terminated my own ends. Nice to have 24/7 recording. Picture quality at night and day is great. Lots of setting via both phone and desk top. Had an issue with one connection due to moisture and contacted Reolink and they quickly responded and replaced the unit immediately even though they didn't have to. Made sure all connections are female side up so moisture does not collect in terminal, also did some of my own weather proofing and added dielectric grease and some silicone. Motion sensors can be adjusted to avoid false alarms. infrared lights do attract spiders so need to put some resplendent near cameras. Added pic of my dog getting a skunk.

Not bad for the money
It's a decent little turn key system. I've had 2 cameras installed for about a week now. Mostly happy with the system, but there are some negatives I wanted to point out. Constructive criticism if you will as of firmware version 2.0.0.249_20011608101.
Positives:
8k video is very clear.
Wait times for play back is quick for a single disk drive.
Mobile app is very easy to use, and has playback.
Audio recording is surprisingly good (it's no boom mic so you get wind noise but still)
Negatives:
First issue that annoys me the most is camera quality. See my photo. These 2 are next to each other and I got very different quality in picture.
The interface, it's just not the greatest. The play back via the application or web interface is just frustrating. I'd like to see an option to maybe slide the playback time at the bottom rather than having to click the + and - buttons to expand the play back times and < and > to move through the time. Enable some sort of sliding motion with the mouse, would be SO much easier.
You can only adjust camera order or "Channel" number from the console and not anywhere on the remote apps. This too would be a simple fix in firmware.
Lack of zoom. You can kinda do it using the "Enable clips" feature on live feed and I haven't found any zoom for playback yet, but this too would be so simple to add with the next firmware update. I mean it's 8mp, 3840x2160. Bigger than most people's desktops, and you can zoom in for a better look at something? Zoom using the mouse wheel PLEASE!!!!! It's worth noting, the mobile app lets you zoom!
Another feature I'd love to see is more flexibility with the alerts. You can choose it to alert you on motion, but it will alert you on any motion. For example: I have a road on the 2 cameras, I'd like to capture cars going by in case of an accident or something, but I would like to be able to configure an alert if anyone steps off the sidewalk to my front door. Would make finding clips MUCH easier. Or not even an alert, maybe some sort of bookmark event.
The network cables supplied is garbage, I ran my own.
Infrared nightvision, yes it goes about 30 feet or so, but it isn't really spread evenly. (see screenshot). Essentially it's a $75 8mp camera so it's not bad.
This isn't really a knock on the product, but just the limitation of using the web interface if you don't have the application installed. You absolutely cannot view or play back in the highest resolution, the browser simple doesn't have the bandwidth to do so. Also it uses flash, which pretty much all web browsers are dumping due to its security flaws. You can get it to work in Firefox, and even Edge. But they are going to block this feature soon enough, leaving you to use IE11 which is already 7 years old...

The best all around experience with an NVR I ever had.
This NVR was chosen based on months of reviews, research, and other customer reviews. I like the versatility of the system to adapt to many video formats, and ease of setup. There were a few challenges in trying to clone the image off of one camera, but I was able to do it through a video decoder/encoder device to an additional monitor in the central area of my home. It is quiet, and sits on my night stand near my bed.

Well worth it
6 Year update: They still work amazing! I dont think we have ever had an issue with em since they were installed. I had no idea i was going to end up in the hospital for a couple months without seeing my dog. My mom cant work a smart phone to video call so she would take him outside for me to see on the reolink app while talking to me on speaker phone!!!! So glad we got these cameras and now im looking to add another camera or 2. My DVR accepts 8 so im good to go! Love this system and highly reccomend it!!!!
I cant speak for the cheaper versions, or really any camera system since this is my first. I just know that i diddnt want to have to change batteries all the time. I wanted remote viewing from my phone. And i wanted it to store enough days so if something should happen while we are on vacation, i could always save the video file when we get home. This does all of that. The hardest part of installing was fishing the ethernet cable thru the walls to the outside with insulation. Might have took 2 hours for 2 ppl taking a couple smoke breaks in between to get it setup. The android app works pretty nice, as does the windows client. Sometimes it dont like to load on the windows client, ill have to close out and reopen but no big deal. It holds 8 days worth of 4k footage from 4 cams, only 1 cam recording audio. The night vision is great. I read online before buying that the night vision is the same on the 4k cams as it is on the 5mp cams, but i have no experience, i just know im happy with this. I still plan to add a bigger hard drive to store more for longer trips but this thing does everything i wanted it to, and great quality. Im very happy with this setup. I can see why reddit suggested reolink.

Pros:
Wired Cameras = Reliable.
Audio/video/night vision, is top of the line.
Cameras build quality is great.
App is user friendly easy to set up.
Cons:
* Motion Detection is what it is. Like all poe cameras not too great. Even on the lowest sensitivity settings. Response time from movement to receiving a push notification is lightning fast. Will blow your phone up with alerts.
* The wire that comes with the system is too flimsy. Great for beginners. but not good if you want to put your own RJ45s with the water proof coupler. Wire puts up a fight trying to get it to straighten out and slide in the connector. Ended up running my own wire.
Best on the market for the price.

If you are on the fence, I say GO FOR IT! POE/LAN port dimension were VERY LOOSE
This is a GREAT system for the money and I recommend it to anyone looking for an NVR package @ or under $500. The image quality is some of, if not, the best in this class (homeowner, small business).
The only reason I am giving 4 stars rather than 5 is, the push notifications from the motion detection are infuriating. You really can't stop them without eliminating 99% of the motion recording triggers. Which results in essentially NO motion recording.
SETUP:
Setup was very simple, these systems are quite literally plug and play. Definitely bench test all the cameras together BEFORE installing to avoid wasting a bunch of time mounting it and then discovering that you have a problem. The most difficult part after you have selected the mounting sites is running the cables. If you intend to run the cables in walls or even up through the eves into an attic you need an electrician’s fiberglass cable poles ($12 at harbor freight for the 33' set). Plan on spending a full day running the wires if you are making your own and about half the day if you are using the included CAT5 (Seriously REOLINK its 2020, at least bump it up to CAT6). This is the second one of these Reolink systems I have installed on my own. I installed the older 4MP system at a relative’s home a few years back, which is still working flawlessly (no HDD issues 24/7 recording).
MY QUALITY PROBLEM:
However; between then and now I think the quality of parts that Reolink is receiving from their suppliers has declined. The main problem I ran into was that the POE/LAN ports on both the cameras and the NVR were a bit too large which made for a loose connection. This caused me headache for about a week as I chased my tail reconnecting and resetting cameras that had lost connection (never power, just connection, the IR lights would be on at night). I finally realized that the plug was moving side to side and had a lot of in/out slack too. So I replaced the standard plastic ends on the cables I originally installed (I never use the supplied cable, I ran all my own shielded cat6 = shorter runs and better signal quality) with a shielded end with a metal shroud around it (slightly larger physically in all directions) which eliminated the slack and thus my connectivity issue.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
This whole time I was also working with Reolink customer support. While they were very polite and responsive (usually no more than 24hrs) I could tell that they weren't actually READING/Comprehending my emails, the steps I had already taken, or my description of the issue. The responses seemed very canned with no real interest in working the problem or investigating the possibility of a poor quality manufacturing run. These are not really techs but more like call centers they are just selecting responses from a dropdown menu in a troubleshooting program. They want to help and keep you as a customer but may not always know how.
SOFTWARE:
Their NVR, apps and client software are very user friendly and work well. With scalable quality options you should not have any issues reviewing footage remotely.
MOTION DETECTION:
I did find that the motion detection settings were confusing across all the platforms, all the setting options are listed differently (setting sliders reversed, high on the NVR = low on the phone app) as well as the motion detection ability in general. Reolink uses a Pixel based motion detection system based in the software rather than a PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor. This is great for an indoor setup where there are not many shadows or the shadows are stationary. However, in an outside setting where things like trees and clouds cast moving shadows all day you end up with A LOT of motion alert footage and push notifications on your phone. I just wish there was a setting to where the NVR still marks motion events in the playback log but you could set a schedule where no push notifications are sent.
FRAME RATE:
Three of the captured shots I posted were taken from the RLC-511 5MP which I added in an attempt to have a sort of LPR (License Plate Reader), unfortunately the frame rate (25 FPS) is not fast enough to truly capture a moving vehicle; slow and stationary vehicles it does a great job, and at the very least I can get a fairly decent vehicle description if needed. The 4K cameras are even slower at 20 FPS which means anything moving faster than a brisk jog will start to experience motion blur and it is about 1.5x worse at night. @REOLINK please add/develop a 5MP or 4K camera with a 60 FPS frame rate (preferably with 5-8x optical zoom) and an NVR that can handle it, or firmware update if that is what’s needed, to function as a LPR/ vehicle capture camera.
NIGHT VISION:
As you can see from the photos the night vision is pretty good, resolution is high. I do wish there was an option to adjust the brightness of the IR LEDs or to disable a portion of them; in order to reduce glare from things like nearby walls, license plates and reflective surfaces. I would like to see an invisible option added to the cameras they sell; whereas the available IR wavelength would be in the 930nM to 1000nM range, well outside of the human visible spectrum so that one can hide the cameras in the dark without the “ Floating Red Eye”. It would slightly reduce the effective range but would really help when your goal is to catch a group of criminals in the act rather than deter them.
AUDIO QUALITY:
The audio quality recorded by the 4K cameras is excellent. You can pick up planes overhead, distant sirens, not so distant gunshots (shooting range about 3/4 mile away), passing vehicles, normal conversation from people walking on the street about 25 to 30 feet away, kids sneaking up on each other playing hide and go seek (stealth has yet to be mastered by my kids), birds chirping, dogs barking, bugs bugging and even neighbors doing naughty adult neighbor things with the window open at 11:33pm.
HDD CAPACITY:
At present, I am only using the 2TB internal HDD in the NVR. With the 4- 4K cameras it came with recording 24/7 with audio, and the one additional 5MP with audio turned off camera I am able to store/review 131 hrs. or just under 5.5 days (5.458 days). I will revisit this portion of the review in a few months once I figure out if I can expand the storage beyond the 8TB total capacity that Reolink lists using a RAID 1/0 setup in a 4 bay enclosure using either the eSATA connection or ideally setting it up as a NAS cloud.
OFF-BRAND COMPATIBILITY:
This is the one area that REOLINK falls short. For starters their products are proprietary rather than ONVIF compliant. This means that their NVR and app refuse to recognize nearly all cameras besides their own (there are a select few that have been found to kinda work but can also cause issues in the app and with playback). While I understand this from a business continuity standpoint, as well as making troubleshooting simpler. I feel that their system should be able to work with other products that REOLINK doesn't currently offer. Such as a POE video doorbell, Thermal/FLIR cameras, or a panoramic fisheye.
ADD-ON’s:
I VERY strongly suggest pairing this with a Battery backup/surge protector. One that is large enough to keep the system running for 15-20 minutes is less than $50.
In the event of a power outage from a bad storm or bad actors (criminals) your system will keep recording for a while longer. Which might just come in handy if say, a tree branch falls and damages something, in this case the side of the pool, as a result of the storm that also killed the power. Or, say a group of vehicle burglars knock out power to most of the neighborhood at 1am to disable as many security systems, motion lights, street lights and cameras (most Wi-Fi cameras become essentially useless if you lose internet/Wi-Fi) as possible while they work (happened in my neighborhood).
IN SUMMARY:
Despite what I wish this system had or was capable of, or how I think it should be setup; I 100% received what I paid for and what was described. Reolink did not mislead with any of their claims or descriptions. Overall the kit is top of the line against its competitors in terms of Image quality, ease of setup, ease of use, software functionality & customer service (not necessarily knowledge).
If you are on the fence I say GO FOR IT! At the end of the day the core purpose of a system like this is to provide the maximum amount of evidence to the police in the event that a crime is committed against you, your property or anything within the view of the cameras. This system does that 24/7- 365. It never sleeps and, as long as you point the cameras in the right direction, is always watching your back.

8mp is awesome
Fantastic security camera solution. Ive had it installed for a few months now, and it definitely works well. There is a desktop computer application for downloading videos, a moble phone app for checking the cams from anywhere, and the device itself has a UI you can use with a mouse and hdmi monitor/TV. Easy to install, came with a lot of wire and connectors, and just seems to be high quality.
The only downside I had is the video format is mp4 and I'm unable to load those into Premiere. Thats more kinda my problem than theirs though.

Great camera system
This review is for the Reolink 4K Ultra HD PoE Security Camera System. Product arrived in a timely manner and was well packaged. Set up was easy, POE cameras were recognized by the DRV without user intervention. The 8 megapixel looks great on our HD 4K TV using the HDMI cable supplied. Two of the cameras were mounted outside and have survived 100 and 0 degree temperatures. Remote access using the Android app and the PC client work well when we are away from home. Email and message features work as expected for alarms, the apps allowing real time and historical views as well as configuration. Daytime vision is impressive, nighttime vision is good.
The cameras come with 60 foot cables which were not long enough so we purchased ethernet extender connectors and 25 foot cables from the hardware store. I was concerned before purchasing the cameras that because I was mounting them on a sloping surface that the image would be at an angle. No problem, the camera mount uses a Ball and socket system which made it easy to correct to the right angle. NVR and Camera user manuals can be downloaded from the Reolink website if you need more detail.
The software on the NVR is decent. I have not figured out to zoom on archived images, but the zoom works well on live, letting me see license plate numbers from 100 feet away.
My only complaint is that in the summer spiders like to build a web across the camera lens and in the winter that is right where icicles want to form, but neither of these is a fault of Reolink. I would recommend this camera system if you can figure a way to install the ethernet cables.

Crystal clear pictures/feed, excellent night vision, motion detection notifications
I will not pretend to know the technical aspects of this system, I can however tell you it is a great system for us. The feeds are crystal clear, no lag time. The motion detection is pretty sensitive. We live in a very rural area and this is our first (hopefully last) security system. Makes me feel safer.
In the one pic the guy you see is at least 100+feet from the camera. But I can zoom in and easily recognize him. Look at how clear you can see the wheels on the boat in the top left of that pic! And how crystal clear the pic of the pool is. I would NEVER leave a child alone in a pool, and with this system I get a notification when there is any motion near the area. The night vision is just as sharp and clear, but black and white.
While I'm at work, I keep the live feed up on my phone in a corner of my desk. If there's motion detected, I get an email, I can glance over at my phone and see the live feeds. Because we live in the country, often the alerts are bugs, wasps, chickens, birds, etc. However the feeling of security outweighs the small issues such as false alarms. Our home was robbed while we were in the midst of building. It wasn't so much the stuff that was stolen, but the feeling of violation that has left a negative long- lasting impression on us.
