Changed My Life

I played a bit in my youth, then later in life I picked up another 12 string and then a six string banjo. Time got away from me and I haven't played my guitars for 15 years. Yeah I'm semi retired now and have been staring at these two instruments on the wall for sometime. Well, I finally picked up the 12 string and I didn't realize how much I had forgotten about tuning and was frankly a little intimidated. I thought about taking it into a music shop and having them tune it, but I live very rural and that doesn't solve the problem of keeping it tuned. My ears just aren't what they used to be. I never dreamed that there was new technology out that would tune my guitar for me. How cool is that? I read a lot of the reviews and thought would I just go for it. I have to say that this tuner changed my life. The Roadie 4 is an absolutely fantastic device. Once I read the directions, downloaded the app and entered the info for each instrument. It was a breeze. I literally tuned my 12 string which has been sitting for years in about 15 minutes (had to do it twice because I lost my place) and it sounds beautiful. Now I'm not scared to put new strings on it. As for the six string banjo I wanted to play the same as a guitar, but if I selected the six string banjo, it tuned completely different than a guitar so I went to acoustic guitar and it sounded great also. I'll play around with the Steel string guitar setting also to see how that sounds. Now for the fingers but that's on me and I'm excited to get going now that the tuning is solved. You probably won't see me on stage but I will be enjoying just playing for my two dogs and a cat.

A huge improvement over the Roadie 2!

I reached out to Roadie for help with the Auto-Detect problem - it was operator error, and they helped me so much I wanted to mention them here. Excellent customer service, patient and clear.

This tuner does it all, very well. I do many setups and intonation tune-ups and really appreciate the String Winder and Auto-Detect! Get one, throw it in your toolbox, you will use it more than you expect!

No matter what I select, it seems the very expensive Auto-Detect feature is not working.

I tried all suggestions online, but nothing.

This cost 3X more than any other tuner, I may want my money back.

I might have just purchased vaporware.

Older review: I skipped the Roadie 3 because the Roadie 2 was fine for what I needed.

Then the scroll wheel started skipping around, and was always awkward to use with one hand.

I'm satisfied, and pleased.

You should buy it for the string winder function alone!

Accurately tunes guitar

It tunes accurately and holds many different tunings in the devices’ memory and the app’s memory. They update the tuner regularly for future improvements. So far I’m pleased.

Roadie 4 works well

It does work and it is very good. I have been testing mine. In fast mode it does a good job for standard tuning. With some tunings it needs to be used in the accurate mode, which is slower but does a good job. I use it on a classical and a steel string and I am very particular about tuning. I bought it with the intention of sending it back if it was not good, but I am keeping it. You can enter your own tunings and save them. So for the odd tuning like C6 it is much easier than trying to remember that. I recommend it.
