Good headphones

I’ve had these for a year now and they still work perfectly. They are on the cheap side and at times they hurt the surrounding of my ear but they still work.

Professional pilot review

I am a retired airline pilot who got into General Aviation a few years ago. Many people seem to think these days that they need the best of everything regardless of cost. All I need is a reliable headset that is comfortable and protects my hearing. In my early years I used Dave Clark's, as all the pros did. Didn't need them in jets. Now that I'm back in Cessnas I needed something akin to the Clark's, but cheaper. After 4 years of using these I am still satisfied with my purchase. Aviation is expensive enough without wasting money on unnecessary techno doodads. You'll be just fine to use these.

Love it 😊

Sturdy and comfortable built and sound quality great. Highly recommend if your a student pilot on a tight budget

Amazing Deal🤩

I originally just needed a headset for passengers that was cheap and worked decent. For the price and the way they preform 10/10. I never have to worry about them not working or the audio being muffled, they worked better than expected.🙌👍

Great Purchase!

I love this headset. I can understand everything the tower said 😂 and my readability is much better.

On a Budget? Can't Go Wrong - Affordable - Dependable

It's not fair to try and compare these to Bose or a set of David Clark headsets. We have two pair and did extensive research before purchasing. You can't go wrong with the Rugged Air headset.

We are going on two years with no issues. They are great for a student, as a second - backup pair, your passengers, or pilot on a budget. They are sturdy, dependable, and will get the job done at an affordable price. They come with a carrying case if you don't want to keep them in your flight bag.

As with any equipment, take care of them and they will last. One drawback is they do feel stiff on longer flights. For the price we paid, they were worth it.

Great Headset

Considering the fact that the Engine of my Seaplane is VERY loud in the Cockpit, they work Great.

Don’t buy this

Started my PPL classes and bought this to save money, but every time we go full power on the throttle, it messes up out radio communication. It’s a bad product and I’m even more upset that They won’t let me return it.

Save yourself some money and DO NOT BUY THIS.

Important for aircraft mechanics who taxi

I like that these are reasonably priced. Seems like a sturdy build. Only time will tell if they hold up.

Great value! I'd buy another pair if needed!

I love these headsets. I have used them on two flights so far, and so far, so good. My CFI says he can hear me clearly and I hear him perfectly. I do not hear a lot of outside noise, but enough to hear the engine of the plane, like I need to. I don't want to be totally oblivious to sounds outside, but the noise cancellation is EXCELLENT! The headsets are VERY snug... a little too tight for me, but I watched the video from Rugged Air and they mention just bending the headsets outward to adjust to the size of your head. Works great. My CFI uses BOSE and I use Rugged Air and we communicate great. I am going to buy a second set. :)

Good noice cancelling headphones but too stiff and heavy

As a cancellation notice headphones they are good... Unfortunately, they are too heavy, too tight, too stiff ... After 40 minutes I can't stand them.. they give me a headache, my ears hurt, my neck hurts.. sad I can't used them

Worked great in an off road buggy for intercoms!

Bought 4 of them to work with a sigtronic intercom for an off-road Buffy. Fit well on everyone including kids. Sound quality was great and worked well in the wind. Would definitely buy again if needed!

Excellent!

Excellent experience with this product. It is confortable, have good noise cancellation while allowing to listen to the outside just enough to have spacial awareness. Good sound quality, no unnecessary complexity, just perfect for GA and flight training. It is the best, most affordable option for your first GA headset.

May day.... May day....

This headset was what the flight school were using. They are comfortable, stylish and economical. I will be buying a second pair for my passenger.

... my first PPL flight and they seemed to worked good. I do not have another aviation headset to ...

Took these on my first PPL flight and they seemed to worked good. I do not have another aviation headset to compare to but for the price compared to others these worked good. Will probably buy two more after I get my license for the rest of my family and then buy some better ones for me.

Update. So far so good. I have about 18 hours of training on these. Still would buy another pair and looking to get the junior size for my kids when they start flying with me. I will probably get a better name brand and give this pair to my wife.

Save yourself $200

If you’re a student pilot and/or you’re not flying almost every day, why do you need expensive headsets? I’ve been using these for almost a year with no problems. I also have a set of DC H13 and they sound the same. And for $80, I’m not worried about scratching them.

good for passengers and as back up, wouldn't use in Bravo or charlie airspace

Its ok, great buy . I use it for my passengers, but yesterday i went up and flew to KPWA From KGOK and talking to okc approach and wpa ATC was difficult to hear. I was having a hard time understanding the numbers. But then again i am used to my zulu PFX , so for $100 these are a good buy , to use for passengers or as back ups, but i really would not recommend them for pilots flying into bravo charlie or delta airspace where you need to hear everything that approach departure or tower has to say
