SABRE Door Handle Alarm Vibration-Triggered Home Security Device

It's made all the difference in the world to this senior woman. Great idea.

I bought 3 for my doors, and 1 for a window. They are loud, but isn't that the point? They are sensitive. Mine go off if there's a real noisy car or motorcycle that goes by the house. Thunder can make it go off. Any vibration. I don't get why anyone is annoyed that it's doing it's job. Better safe than sorry. They last long. You can have an alarm, kinda like a squad car, or a loud beep like an alarm clock, or have it off. It takes 3 AAA batteries. For $6.00 it's a steal. You can check your phone camera if you have it connected to an outdoor camera. I just use my peep hole in my door. I trust Sabre. I've used their spray for decades. For my window in my dark area, I just hang it on the window lock.

Shoddy Construction

Very shoddy construction on the plastic body. To access the battery company you must unscrew a miniature screw that no screw driver can access. It is so tiny that using a pen knife will only strip it.

This removes a little compartment door. It could have been just a slide in door like on the back of a TV remote that snaps in place.

The bottom AAA battery space is too narrow to properly seat the battery. It had to be pressured in.

I guess that is what you get for $9.

Waste Of Money

Worked great for 6 weeks. Now the alarm sounds after setting it even when there's no motion. I even tested it just laying it on a table and as soon as the red light stops blinking the alarm starts. I tried all 3 levels of sensitivity and get the same outcome. Total waste of money.

Doesn't work period.

It's a good idea. Theoretically, however, I just got mine a couple days ago and I was really excited about it cuz we're going to travel and it'd be good for a motel room but I can't get it to ever be quiet. It goes through its little light red light phase and then immediately starts chirping or alarming and the alarm isn't very loud. But anyway it doesn't work. It never settles down. It doesn't reset. I laid it on a pillow and turned it on to see if that would work. It didn't as soon as it cycled through the red light thing. It went off started chirping so I I don't know how it's supposed to work. I wish there was a way to adjust the sensitivity. I want to smash it with a hammer. What a joke. Can't find any customer service either. Just take your money and run.

Bought this to give myself more peace of mind at night and it’s helped a lot! It’s loud and easy to use

These work great. Keeps my elderly mother from wandering outside unattended.

Product doesn’t work

I opened my product to use a a door alarm but it was not operable. The product would not turn on to work. This was a horrible experience because I needed it for my mother who has alhemizer disease.

Easy to put on door knob

Very light weight, practical, gets pretty load, and super easy to use and just hang on any door knob. Great for safety and a heads up .

Horribly made product alarm

It’s unbelievably bad as it relates to AAA batteries compartment. Way too loose. No tension to the springs. Just a complete failure. Avoid it will not keep you safe.

Sounds cricket. The on off button is not easy to use.

Like the title, the sound is not like advertising. The on off button is not easy to use, specifically for old people who need it the most.

Over heat the batteries

Bought two saber door chime/alarm and one is fine but one over heated a battery so fast I noticed before I closed it, I swapped batteries and that one seemed fine. Maybe 1-2 min later the chime so was so HOT! I quickly unscrewed it and took out the better was so hot the plastic was melting and not juice is coming out of the battery!!! It’s not the batteries it the chime cause the other chime is fine. Be careful!

It doesn't really work 😞

This thing is so sensitive 😞. I have to weigh it down in order for it to not go off in a slight breeze. It works for now, but I'll be looking at a different alarm system. I wanted it to keep my screen door open but locked at night. If you need something very sensitive, this is the alarm for you, but if you need it for a door like mine, it's probably not going to work.

Screws looked striped like somebody already

Tried to open them. No tool included to open these extremely extra small screws to get batteries in

This device exploded on my door nob !!

Purchased on April of 2022 and on April 15th 2023 it just exploded while turned off and hanging from the door nob. Scared the hell out the house hold. We didn't know what happen until we found the pieces. I rarely use the unit since purchased. Sounded like a fire cracker exploded in the house. Looks like one of the batteries exploded. I don't know if the unit over heated because I never check it. Be careful !!

Very very loud

It definitely works and gives ma a piece of mind so I sleep better.

Great security alert device for multiple needs

Device is easy to install, battery cover is hard to get off...had to search home to find a screw driver head to fit but easy after that. Device works very well to keep dementia father out of a room along with a safety knob protector. I set the device on the alarm mode then close the door, after the door alert settles and stops moving the device goes into activation mode, so then once the door handle is touched the alarm sounds. Really great device to have around. Will get another one for travel.

Excellent safety feature!

Easy to use. Loud alarm but not obnoxious. It re-sets itself after 10 or 15 seconds in case door gets knocked accidentally. Gives an extra feeling of security. Great!

Waste of money

This thing does joy work!!! Total waste of my money I will return it I tested it three times in each of the suggested modes I have not heard any chime, alarm or chirp this is and should not be sold

Couldn’t get it to operate for a week good once I did!

What they don’t tell you is that you need one of those extremely tiny screwdriver to get it open too and put in three batteries to make this work. I’ve been working on it the past hour and cannot open the back to put the batteries in. Junk

I’m updating this as I got it to open and it works great. Nice and loud, frightens the crap out of my cat when it goes off. Taking off the star for some really crappy directions on how to get it started.

Security Alarm

This product is incredible. I recommend to my family, friends and everyone who read this review. Excellent as security for any place, but especially for doors, with only touching any part of the door will sound very loud, scaring any intruder.

Tiny screwdriver required!

That tiny screw driver is for eyeglasses. I just happened to have one. If not, I'd have been totally out of luck. Description does not say you need one nor is one supplied so you can put batteries in. Screw is miniscule and I lost it!

Sabre door alarm

This one works great on my garage door entry ! I set it and forget it ! This gizmo is loud too. It will wake up the dead . However the second photo on the right is hanging on the front door . It has gone off several times at 4AM . My feeling is that the AC sets it off but I have no proof of that . Hence the 4 stars and not 5.

Effective and love that they’re portable!

I ordered two and one of the alarms did come with a broke wire so that one didn’t work but I asked for a replacement and got one sent out the VERY next day! I was very pleased with the customer service and now I use both of the alarms no problem! They’re actually very effective and I’m glad I purchased them and can feel that much safer in my home.

Not very happy

I bought 2 of this and had enough batteries for the 1st one which worked well. I wasn't careful with opening the 2nd one because the 1st one worked and unfortunately, the 2nd one didn't work despite trying out 3 new sets of batteries now. I can't return it either because I threw the package it was in away.

Great door handle alarm!

I bought this for a sliding glass patio door. I was concerned about how it would hang on the door handle but it fits well. It seems sturdy and it barely weighs anything so it's excellent for travel.

The only negative for me is that the battery compartment uses a tiny screw to open and close (2nd photo). That's a AAA battery so you can see how small the screw is. I recommend to install the battery on the middle of a table with good lighting in case you drop the screw.

It works reliably and is easy to use. The "chime" sound is super loud - it would wake up a deep sleeper - so I haven't tried the "alarm" sound. Vibrate mode has good sensitivity - not too much but if the door handle is touched even lightly, it goes off. I would definitely buy this alarm again. Great product!

NEED TOOLS

Can't get battery compartment open. Didn't tell you that you need the smallest phillips screwdriver to disassemble alarm to install battery. NOT EASY TO USE...WILL RETURN...NOT BUYING A TOOL SET.

GREAT PRODUCT

Super cool product. You can adjust the sensitivity level on it. I had it set on high and it went off from my neighbor in my apartment shutting their door lol. Makes me feel safe. I used it with my brinks door stick thing.

Peace of mind

This works great when my grandson who has autism comes over ...he tends to want to bolt out the door. He has learned that if he touches the door knob or the door the alarm will go off and he will stop and not go out the door. The alarm has Given us some sense of peace. The alarm can be set to chime or buzz. We prefer the loud since we can hear it anywhere in the house.

Excellent security!

This SABRE door alarm is great! For the price, its a great supplement to a home alarm for both outside and inside protection. This device has two settings, the alarm is loud and the chime is equally loud but easier on the ears. When setting this on the handle in alarm mode, once the handle is touched or moved the alarm will siren very loud. If in chime mode, once touched, you will get a nice doorbell sound. Its pretty awesome!

We ours on the front door in chime mode, just to make sure the toddlers doesn't accidentally open the door and go outside, we have child safety locks, but this is a good audible alert.
