Questionable Quality Control

I loved the design and i loved the addition of the additional thumb sticks and when it works I imagine that it performs quite well and for the most part it did. However, right out of the box there are some problems. The first one is that the throttle's friction adjustment goes from hard to harder and no amount of fiddling will loosen it. The units do come with 4 bolt holes for anchoring them to a table or the arms of your chair and considering how tight the throttle is anchoring the units to some surface may be mandatory. The other major issue I encountered was the joystick's twist axes while the spring adjustment allowed me to set the stick very loosely for precision movements the twist axis had no such adjustment and was extremely tight giving my wrists a constant workout. I have owned this for only around 2 weeks and have been flying with the unit for roughly 10 hours. already the twist axes has developed a fault and will no longer return to center which causes any ship or aircraft to roll uncontrollably the deviation from center is too large to set a dead zone. I am going to request a replacement of the stick's handle hopefully the tightness and calibration issues were both caused by a defective spring or something however if something like this happens again ill probably just end up returning the unit as there is no excuse for a mechanical failure this soon especially at this price point

Saitek used to produce very good products however quality seems to have suffered since they were acquired by Mad Catz.
