I WISH I would have known about this stuff when I got my first tattoo! I have sensitive skin and unfortunately, it likes to reject the ink during the healing process. I tried using topical agents like aquafor but alas, I'm allergic to it and end up with a terrible rash. I've been working on a sleeve for years, the upper part of my arm was before I discovered saniderm. Below the elbow, I used saniderm to help the healing. It kept the ink in my skin instead of pushing it out, didn't scab and healed in half the time. Bonus tip: taking liquid collagen sped up the healing even more.. will not get tattooed without having this on hand and I'm not allergic to the adhesive. However, I tried the saniderm flex this last time thinking it would be better for the elbow, but my skin reacted to the adhesive and I broke out. So I'm sticking with the OG.

Must have for all!
Love this! My son got a tattoo in another state that allows minors to get them with parental consent. After returning home and back to school, no one believed it was real even after I sent an email to multiple school staff. So people kept trying to touch it. 🤯
Thankfully he let me know right away and I was able to order this for him right away. Stays on well and his tattoo looks as good today as it does the day he got it a year ago!
Yes, we did take the cutting film off before he left home. It’s the only photo I have with it on though.

Won’t be using this again
Used this to protect and keep my new tattoo clean while at work. It worked well however it left my tattoo looking rippled. It’s been 4 days since I removed the Saniderm and it’s still not back to normal

Would not repurchase
Definitely not as flexible as it states. Within an hour of placing it it’s already started to lift, even though I placed it on clean and dry skin and followed the directions. I haven't even touched water yet, just running errands so I have no hope that it will hold up all day. I have 7 other tattoos so I’ve used a variety of different second skin this one feels extremely thin, especially compared to the one originally used by my tattoo artist. It does have a shiny finish if that matters to you. Maybe if you only need it for a place without a lot of bend it might work for you. I don’t recommend it though.

Second skin for tattoos
This second skin works beautifully. It had a nice edge on the sides making it an easy to peel and stick tape.
We use this for several applications but mainly for after getting tattoos. My husband just got my ink done and I wrapped his arm in this second skin and it stays put.
You need to clean and pat dry the skin. Then cut the length of second skin you need. Peel the white cover layer off and place it on the skin. Then peel the plastic grid layer off and press the second skin to the skin on your body. It holds for a week with showers and every day movement.
With tattoos you will see blood and plasma come to the surface of the skin and then reabsorb. It is a large roll and covers a lot of area. It’s one length so you can cut it to fit where you put it.
We also use it when going to the lake as the fish love to bite my husbands moles on his back so we place a small piece of cotton ball on the mole then place the second skin over that. The fish leave it alone.
This is water proof and stays put. Great value for the money and amazing quality.

If you’re concerned about protecting your tattoo investment, this is the right product to use.
Tattoo must have.
This film is like your own skin, it protects your tattoo like nothing else. You really don’t even notice it’s there. When taking it off, it perks away easily. I would recommend this to anyone getting a tattoo.

Works Great
Just had a large tattoo on my back. Kept this on for a few days, and there's very little peeling or scabbing. Still healing but this is way better than using unsterile food grade cling wrap and masking tape. I bought this because my shop doesn't use it. They should. Tattoo isn't finished, but looks great. Will use for my final session!

Great aide for tattoos, Can be better.
I've been using Saniderm all of 2024. I am three tattoos in worth of use. Quite honestly, I am frustrated I did not know of this product before now. It makes healing a breeze after a tattoo session. I no longer have to apply ointments and leave my open wounds (tatto area) exposed to shirt lint, construction site pollution, and the harsh contaminants of city environment.
Though it is a giant leap for the benefit of healing after an ink job. There are some minor kinks that have to be improved upon technically, just one. The adhesive looks promising at first when applied, but give it a few moments of physical activity and a bit of sweat to the area covered and the protective layer come peeling off faster than it took to apply it. If a little bit of sweat is enough to undo the dressing, Imagine what my response would be for showers. Let's just put it this way, after a shower session, Saniderm went on daily. Sometimes twice if I encounter myself in hot areas and work up a sweat. So no, I don't know what it's like to have saniderm on for a week straight. It comes off after exposure to moisture.
That needs to be improved upon. Regardless of the flaw. My tattoos with Saniderm have had no scabbing, no infections and the overall look is well preserved. Big improvement from just applying A&D ointment multiple times through out the day. Oh! And no itch. That's a plus.

Aftercare Improvement
This product although expensive for what you get is a game changer while your new tattoo heals. It seals off the area so you don't have to so the regular time consuming and clothing staining cleaning and moisturizing protocol after getting a tattoo. It keep the raw tattoo from oozing on your sheets or clothing while it heals. It is like having a secondary piece of permenant saran wrap that sticks with adhesive on the area. I would highly recommend. I'm only 4 days into recovery and haven't taken it off yet. My artist told me that this would enhance the black and grey areas of the tattoo as everything is sealed during recovery and it prevents the tattoo from losing color while healing. We will see. So far so good.

Check first if you’re allergic to it!
So i did my first session ( wear the pink scars are) i didnt know i was allergic to it. I thought i just had my first bad experience which is weird cause i had three other tattoos before it and i did the old school after care I had no problems. Now I went to my second session and this just confirms I’m allergic to it. Two days before removing the second skin I noticed more soreness and heat coming from my tattoo I didn’t think about it to much cause I thought it was still sore from just getting it done. Once I took it off it left me a rash that wouldn’t go away and already I could see where my tattoo was irritated. Now couple days later I’m feeling to same sensation of an infection in my tattoo. I went to my doctors and they confirmed I had an allergic reaction and it was the caused of my tattoo to get an infection twice.
I’m sure it’s awesome for other people but for me I would not use it. So check with your tattoo artist first before buying some of your own or even during the tattoo session test a small piece first.

Makes healing a breeze
First time using this stuff to heal a tattoo and it definitely won’t be the last. It’s a little tricky to apply to a knee but not impossible. I put the first one on about 2 hours after the tattoo was finished and left it on for about 6 hours. It filled up with some plasma so I changed it out a little early. If the next one doesn’t fill up I’ll leave it on for 5 days. This makes it a lot easier to sleep, but be aware that the outside of the bandage is very tacky and will grip the sheets.

Will always use this.
Freaking game changer.
A little difficult to use the furst time u ever try it but it gets easier the more u practice using it. The ends do lift after a while but thats why you always leave at least an inch or two of saniderm away from the tattoo. It warms up to the skin after a few hours of wearing it and feels just like skin after that. I forget its there most the time. Its definitely waterproof and very protective. Its a bit stiff and grippy the girst hour or so just give it a couple hours to warm up and settle with ur skin. Removel is a lot easier that youd think. It hurts worse when on ur hair so make sure u shave really well.

Changed product?
Let me preface this by saying I've been using Saniderm on my clients for well over three years now, but this most recent batch was wayyyy off from all the other boxes I've purchased. I'm wondering if they've changed the product, or if maybe I got a very old box..? It's a few years off from being expired, but I'm unsure if that means much.
I noticed the blue printing was much darker from an old scrap I had in my drawer still (new on the left, old on the right), and it was nearly impossible to get the gridded plastic layer off the middle bandage layer once it had been applied to the skin, even with utilizing the wavy perforations. Overall this particular dressing felt much thicker than usual, and was more matte and less glossy than any other roll I've bought. Not sure what's going on, but not loving it, as I specifically picked Saniderm over competing brands because it was generally easier to apply while yielding the same healed results. If I struggled with it that much after years of experience with the product, I don't imagine my clients will do well with the second bandage application at home

PATCH TEST!!!
Recently I’ve gotten two new tattoos and both a few weeks apart , on the first tattoo I applied this and followed the directions and everything was fine up to the third day I noticed small bumps developing under the saniderm and they were itchy . I thought maybe some water got under there from my shower and removed it and had small pimples all over my tattoo. Two weeks later I got another tattoo and applied saniderm again (remember I was convinced the pimples from the first tattoo were from the water) and same thing again happened, first two days were fine and then the third day…. I was extra careful this time to make sure water wouldn’t get on the saniderm at all but after I noticed those pimple’s developing again I realized it was the saniderm. So bummed that I have three boxes of saniderm that I won’t be able to use. I spoke with my tattoo artist about my experience with this product and the same thing happened to her but she had an outline of the saniderm on her.

Protects tattoo
This product does a wonderful job at protecting your fresh tattoo. I couldent put it on myself because of the location of the tattoo so help was needed. I will say READ THE DIRECTIONS! Also if you only got an outline or shading the tattoo doesn't put off alot of fluid so taking it off requires patience and a little time. I waited almost 24hrs to take it off and only needed it once. Colored tattoos will come off sooner and easier. I also broke out along the edges in a few spots so just watch out for that. Overall I will use this for the remaining sessions on my tattoo.

If you are getting a tattoo and don't want to go through the scabbing and peeling, GET THIS NOW
I got my first larger tattoo and did TONS of research on after care. I chose saniderm and my tattoo artist was like nah, don't use that. I ignored his advice because I just had a gut feeling that saniderm would be beneficial. I know my body better than anyone, and I sleep on my side with my arm under a body pillow right where this tattoo is. And I have an autoimmune disorder so sometimes it goes on the attack extra hard. I wish I would have taken pics, I will next time to show how this works. But basically, you apply it over the tattoo and follow the instructions on how often to change it and how long to wear it. After the four days of the saniderm, my tattoo was mostly healed and NO peeling, NO scabbing, and within two weeks it was like regular skin with a beautiful new tattoo. It weeped under the saniderm but is still able to breathe so it heals so much more safely, quickly and less messy and gross. I 1000% recommend using this product. I will be using it every time hands down! Pic is of my beautiful tattoo a couple weeks later.

Makes the first couple of days so much better
I uploaded a picture of my tattoo right after it was done and one 3 days later. I had my artist apply it right after it was done. I got home and took it off washed it with tattoo goo soap and reapplied it. (there were large air bubbles when my artist wrapped it). The next morning it was filled with a dark liquid. I then washed it again and reapplied some more. I work in a factory and sweat alot. If you are in the same situation you will want to apply some just over the tattoo and then cut strips to hold it on better. I wrapped them around my arm. I only did this for two days to prevent infection. I know you shouldn't keep it on when it pools with sweat but my job is dirty and that was the best choice. It still healed VERY well. I will be using this on all my future tattoos. It's great.

Great product
Was a little difficult to put on, but it worked out. Also, I now know better not to "itch" when it's on. A few spots that weren't tattooed were itchy, so i itched it. When it was time for me to remove the 1st application, I ended up having mini blister where I itched. So I knew not to do that again and I was okay. I have sensitive skin as well. Didn't leave any marks on me.

Love it!
First time using this on a tattoo and I LOVE IT!!! It’s my 6th tatt and I will never use anything else. No mess, no sticking to clothing and no having to worry about it. I forgot to take it with me, but I washed it a few hours later (after removing the tattoo artist’s satan wrap thing) with anti-bacterial soap, lightly patted it dry, waited 10 min for it to fully dry, then put the Saniderm on it, leaving about an inch around the tatt.
About 20 hours later, I took it off and washed it again (it was a little messy from the collection of ink and seepage, which was well contained by the Saniderm). Once completely dry, I applied another sheet of the Saniderm and it’s been on 3 days now. Pic attached. I’ll take it off in a couple more days and update if there are any issues, but I can’t imagine.
I will use this for any new tattoos and recommend it to everyone...
This stuff is awesome!

Get it! You won’t regret it!!
Saniderm is AMAZING!
My tattoo artist recommended it and actually applied the piece for me, he gave me an extra strip to patch up any holes after my tattoo started “weeping”, but I got worried I would need more so I ordered my own. My artist recommended leaving the first one he applied on for 4 days and patch up any areas that look like they are letting air in, the instructions on the website are a little different, but I trusted him, this was his art after all and he said his other clients worked out well. I took it off and it was fully healed and ready for lotion.
SO easy! It keeps contaminants out like fragrant soap and shampoo in the shower, it says waterproof but I made sure the water wasn’t too hot or submerged too long. No more worries about getting stuck to the sheets or pants without suffocating it under other materials. It almost felt like a second skin because I could feel air on it, it’s very breathable. So worth it! I will always use this on tattoos from now on!
Sorry no pic of it on, but the tattoo in the pic is the one I talked about above. The more saturated the tattoo, the more you might need.
Also, Saniderm has a great website with lots of good info!

Sensitive Skin - Rash - Blisters - Leakage
I so badly wanted to love this product. It gets an extra star because it did NOT stick to my tattoo, but with that said it has some terrible parts that deplete the quality. PLEASE NOTE: I tested a patch on one of the most sensitive areas of my body for 10 hours with no side effects...
1. This product meant to HEAL, not create additional pain. The adhesive is horrible and left me with a very unsightly and painful rash/chemical burn all over my skin. (See photos)
2. The stuff leaks. Period. There is always a weak spot, where the plasma escapes the plastic, making it impossible to manage, and defeats the purpose... same with water getting in. I had to remove the stuff on the second morning due to a balloon of shower water inside the bandage. Even when I had the adhesive 3 inches below my ink it escaped, and somehow it also filled with water. What a mess. see image - you can tell how much of the adhesive I had all around the ink.
3. When I left my artist’s shop, she had a different (way more affordable) brand called “Second Skin” - I got home and decided to patch it up a little with a piece of Saniderm, and POOF! I awoke with blisters and lesions on the seam/edge of ONLY the Saniderm and not the other adhesives...
Overall I wanted to love this but it was a pain in the -bleep- to get on, to get it to stay on and do it’s job, and also left me with blisters and a need to now try and treat 2 separate wounds, one of which I DID NOT bargain for.

Bought this for my first tattoo
I gotta say as a first timer this is kind of hard to apply without getting air bubbles, plus i tried to apply one big piece to cover it all, my advice is to divide it into smaller pieces and overlap them to cover the tattoo.
This is a picture of the third day, i had to change one i had applied before to clean my tattoo since water got in while taking a shower (my fault for using a big piece of saniderm instead of overlaping smaller pieces).
Today is day 5 with the tattoo and hair is growing back in my arm, the outer forearm hair is thicker so its getting real itchy under the saniderm.
Also corners of the saniderm start to peel off really fast, even tho i rounded them off with scissors, so remember to leave around an inch more of saniderm around your tattoo.

Some allergies, but GREAT product!
I did a patch test on my hand which was fine. Tattoo is on upper arm and I ended up having a reaction on the more sensitive skin under my arm. Day one caused a blister that I just couldnt take anymore, so I peeled it upwards and trimmed. I then got a second line of blistered skin at the new location and in general this product made it feel like a constant sunburn. The tougher skin on the outside of my arm only got slightly red and no blistering. There was absolutely no reaction on my tattoo. Only the edges of the saniderm were affected, but I feel my artist used a little too big of a piece.
That being said, I'm a nurse and covered with this to protect from germs at the hospital. I felt the tattoo was 100% protected and that's a huge relief for me. My forearm is next which I do plan to test again to see if that area of skin can handle it and am very hopeful to continue to be able to use this product.
I left my first piece on 2 1/2 days, removed it and left my second piece on 1 more day at work. Completely skipped the scabby stage!
Aside from my little blisters, this does not hurt to take off which I did with both the dry and wet method. I actually think dry is easier.

Wow, best aftercare product ever!
Application tip: peel off second protective layer to make it more malleable, leaving extra room for your fingers to stick.
I had A big shoulder/upper arm piece that I needed to keep clean. First application was tricky as I wasn't sure how to apply it smoothly over my shoulder. Second time, I laid it on and when I got to the shoulder I took off the second protective layer and it was so much easier to lay it on without wrinkles.
I was mildly reactive to it, made me break out in zits all over my tattoo and it was A little red, but I figured it was better than the scabbing and possibly getting it infected.
I would suggest buying it before your tattoo and applying it somewhere on your body and keeping it there for like 5 days, and see how your skin reacts each day.
I have A latex allergy and mildly sensitive skin, which is probably why I had issues.
I can vouch for the awesomeness of this product though, it was so nice I could wear long sleeves, sleep on my arm touch it. The saniderm made it PAINLESS!! My skin did get pretty warm at times, not sure the cause.
Well worth the price for painless site, speedy healing, little to no scabbing and helps the color stay in. And you get so much of it! I only used mine for about 5 days and after that it was healed completely!

If healing a tattoo was always this easy, I’d be covered in them!
I can’t say enough about this product. I got the ditch of my arm and elbow done. I was more worried about aftercare then the initial tattooing. I put this on Day 1 about 8 hours after I got my tattoo. I recommend practicing before on a different part of skin, it’s tricky. I replaced it 24 hours later like the directions say. I hadn’t shaved my arm and didn’t feel like taking it off was as painful as people said. Maybe it’s because I have very fine armhair? If I had thicker hair, I’d recommend shaving the area. My tattoo on day 1 looked like day 4. It wasn’t as swollen as my bicep was after that tattoo. It was far less painful and irritated. I put a fresh set of wrap on it last night so it’s day 2. My arm can’t really bend much but I was told since it’s at the elbow to apply it in a neutral position. I look forward to taking this off on Friday and seeing how it looks. This has been a great product as I’m very sensitive to pain and cleaning my fresh tattoo makes me very light headed and dizzy.
