Used with wear

Really irritated that I paid full price for a used book collection that I got my nephews birthday. And because his birthday is tomorrow I have no time to return and wait for another one. Very disappointing

Nice box set

I got this set for my son for Christmas. He loves all things Pokémon and with his autism he loves to flip through pages of books. This set is so great! The paperback cover and the size of the books make it easy to handle. They come in a storage box to keep them all together. There are pictures throughout the pages.

Poor presentation

A bit dissapointed that the pokeball doesn't line up like the description photo shows.

Not aesthetically pleasing to the eyes

It was supposed to be a birthday present for my niece. I thought a "full collection—8 books would be enough." But looking at this, I now have to rush to buy something to add to the bag. The books are very small and thin. I have not seen the quality of the books inside since they are all wrapped up. The outside presentation looks fine.

Great collection

My son was excited for this collection, although they have minor problems like multiple words like "had had" we started to circle were we found problems for problem-solving skills

Great books! (2nd/3rd Reading Level)

My son loves these books, he didn't want to stop reading them. He's in the 2nd to 3rd grade reading level. I'd estimate that the books lean more towards the 3rd grade reading level.

Paid for new, got highly damaged used

Great stories, but the quality is horrible. Normally I have no problem with buying used books, but to have paid $34 for a new set and received it in this condition is beyond disappointing. They were a birthday gift for my son.

One of the best gifts for kids

Every book got several chapters, which is easy for little kids to read.

As advertised, my son will love them

We bought it for a birthday gift for my 7 year old. There are black and white pictures throughout the books. All the books are there, no doubles or upside down printing.

The box they came in is in good shape as are all the books.

If my son will read them.. I’ll buy them.

I would give these a three star review but the fact that my son is reading them is worth a Star. The things I didn’t like about these is that the paper is on the thinner side. The Image on the cover is really pixelated and bad quality. And each book is pretty thin. Pros my son is reading them.

7yo pokemon fan doesn't hate them.

My 7 year old son in first grade doesn't like to read. He's really into Pokemon though so I tried these chapter books. It has some pictures but not as many as my son would like. He will read them but only if there's nothing else. Still, there is something to be said for that. I think he really only likes them for the subject matter.

I recommend them if you have a Pokemon fan old enough for chapter books, yet doesn't like to read.

Great quality as always with scholastic ! The pictures are awesome for the little ones and the box set it a great way to keep them together .

A bit advanced for struggling readers

Ordered 2 box sets, one for a gift, one for my own son. No duplicates like other reviews said, or upside down pages that I’ve seen. I wasn’t sure how “advanced” the books were when I ordered, although only 5 page long chapters, I was surprised that it was like real chapter books. It’s a bit advanced for my struggling 6 year old.

Christmas gift for my 8 year old son and he’s a Pokemon fan. Not sure who will be more excited...Mom seeing him read more or him excited that it’s something Pokemon. Either way I believe this will be a win-win.

Not Eight DIFFERENT Books

We received 2 of the same books and one of the books was missing. The child was looking forward to owning a complete collection and tried to hide his dissappointment so I wouldnt get my feelings hurt. I think I am going to shop locally instead of at mail-order sites.
