SEGUMA 32A Level 2 EV Charger for Electric Vehicles and PHEVs

Heavy duty charger. Able to set current.

The Seguma level 2 charger really solves my problem of using my old dryer plug to charge my EV. I got this Seguma level 2 charger so that I can utilize the electric dryer plug to charge my car and set the amperage. The circuit breaker was installed for dryers levels1 and my car wants to pull higher than the circuit breaker and wiring was set up for. The main feature I got this for is that I can set the amperage. The cable that came with my car could not do that and would just pull maximum. I didn't want to do expensive electrical work and just wanted a simple solution and this does the trick.

The charger is super-heavy duty. The cables are really thick; the connectors feel heavy and everything feels strong and sturdy. The cables are long but also very thick and so no electrical issues of overheating and other problems. Compared to my OEM charger, this just feels next level heavy-duty.

It also comes with a case that nicely holds the cables and also a wall mount kit. Given how unwieldy and thick the cables are, it's so good to have the case to keep everything organized.

Smoking, melting, DANGER

The charger was smoking, and had melted the associated plug adapter. Less than 2 months in use. Dangerous! Luckily I happen to go in to my garage last night, smelt the burning plastic and found the product smoking.

No complaints!

Decided to try this product out after the Tesla charger I was using at home had died. I am able to charger my Lucid Air from 55% to 85% in 2 hours, which is perfect for me and my commute. The cord length is more than enough as my outlet is directly under my breaker box in the garage. It comes with a transport bag for those who would like to use it on the go as well.

2 Weeks In - So Far So Good 🤞

I've been using it for two weeks with a 20 amp 220v outlet and it charges at a rate of 4.5 kw. It's a full kw faster than the 12 amp 220 charger I was using prior. The unit runs a touch hot, so I wouldn't have it out baking in the sun. During a typical 8 hour day at work I can add about 120 - 140 miles of range which is about 15-20 miles per hour of charge. If this thing can last I will be very happy.

Trash. Don’t waste your money.

Trash. Worked for one week and then stopped. Customer service was unresponsive and wouldn’t help me. They lied and said they were only a distributor and not the manufacturer.

I had to spend $460 on a Tesla charger and another $100 for the electrician to install the Tesla charger but it’s been worth it.

Works great with my 24 Ioniq 5!

No issues, I'm getting 6.3kw per hour with is thing. Overnight charge no issues at all. Loving it!

EV Charger

There's a discrepancy between the claimed capabilities of this charger and the actual capabilities. Even the manual doesn't align with the actual functionality; the rates available on the charger and the rates in the manual and on the product listing are different. Using this as a level 1 charger, I can't get it to charge at a higher rate than 12W. Other chargers I've tried can charge at 16W or 20W. This difference in power output leads to a drastic difference in charge speed.

EV charging made easy

This unit affordably got me charging my EV while I waited for my electrician to work me into his busy schedule. Also it allows me to use an RV pedestal/service box with plugs for my EV, my RV, and a 120V convenience outlet.

A 5' length of 2-2-2-4 cable, a 50A circuit breaker, and a 240V outlet from the orange store got my EV going. DO NOT TRY THIS WITHOUT DETAILED ELECTRICITY UNDERSTANDING AND THE NECESSARY TOOLS - - 240V CAN KILL YOU!

However, your electrician can get you set up quickly this way until they can do the permanent installation up-to-code.

The real-time information on the display is useful (it showed me that there is more variation in the service voltage than I expected) and you can adjust the current/rate of charge by simply pressing the single button to adjust from 10A to 32A.

I'm thoroughly impressed by this charger and very satisfied with it. The information displayed (W, A, V, time) are enough to know what's going on.

Seguma Brand is Powerful!

Great Level 2 wall/portable charger to keep at home, this brand works slightly better than the Tesla portable charger with the NEMA 14-50 connection cable- you will get at least 3 to 5 more miles an hour to the charge, a small plus but every little bit adds up with EV’s! Tesla owners will need to purchase the J1772 to Tesla adapter separately, does Not come with this charger.

I like this Level 2 EV charger, 32 amp Nema 14-50 to J1772 with a 25 ft length. This also includes mounting hardware for your wall and a bag. This charger supports different charging levels. I like that this is 25 ft length and seems to be made well.

Overall 4.4 stars taking into consideration the products description, quality, features, value and cost of 199.99 a tad pricy, and there was a discount that further brought the price down.

Reliable and Weatherproof EV Charger with Convenient Features

The Level 2 EV Charger 32A 240V with NEMA 14-50 Plug has proven to be a reliable and convenient solution for charging my electric vehicle (EV) at home. Here are my thoughts after using it:

Pros:

Sturdy Build: The charger is well-built and feels durable, providing reassurance of its longevity. The inclusion of a carry bag adds to its portability, although I prefer leaving it plugged in for convenience.

Versatility: Unlike fixed wall chargers, this portable EV charger offers flexibility, allowing me to take it along on road trips or when visiting friends and family. The adjustable current feature is handy for adapting to different charging scenarios.

Compatibility: The SAE J1772 connector ensures compatibility with a wide range of EVs, making it suitable for households with multiple electric vehicles. The 25ft cable provides ample reach, giving me flexibility in parking my vehicle.

Informative Display: The built-in screen displays charging session statistics, allowing me to monitor the progress and estimate charging costs. While I wish there was a dedicated app for accessing this information remotely, viewing the stats in the car is a reasonable alternative.

Weatherproof Design: Unlike some other chargers, this one is weatherproof, providing peace of mind during outdoor charging sessions, especially in inclement weather conditions.

Cons:

Compatibility with Tesla: One drawback is the exclusive use of the J1772 connector, which may pose compatibility issues for Tesla owners. The manufacturer offers a specific Tesla charger which is slightly costlier and I would rather buy this charger and adapter for my Tesla.

Works well

Nice display for status, 7.28Kw long 25ft cable. Only drawback was the cable was covered with plastic, had to cut with scissors, did not come off easily. Works well, comes with travel bag and parts to mount on wall. Reasonable price.

Made every bit as nice as it looks in the pictures

Has the same fit, finish and feel as my OEM charger. Includes a nice zippered carrying case, wall mount for charger and car plug. Cord is heavy rubberized material, car plug is sturdy. Back of charger is clearly labeled with status light meanings. High quality in all aspects.

A versatile level 2 EV charger that can be used with many types of charging outlets.

I purchased this level 2 EV charger because I bought a Lexus NX450h+ , which is a plug in hybrid and currently I use a level 1 charger which takes 12 hours to charge at home. I wanted something faster and chose this charger because it has the capability to charge much faster without needing an electrician to make changes. All I needed was a NEMA 14-50 outlet and a 10-30 plug so that I can use my 30 amp dryer outlet. So, I purchased a cord that provides the conversion. Now, I can use this charger which has a 14-50 plug.

The charger itself comes with a bag for storage, and a holder with screws to attach to your wall. The instructions provided are pretty basic. I love the fact that the charger can be used for various amperage depending on your needs, all you have to do is plug it in and press the amp selection in the middle until your preferred amps start flashing. I chose 24 amps since I can only use 80% of the amps available (since 30 amp dryer output, must use 24 amps max).

The charger worked perfectly and charged my vehicle in about 4 hours versus the 12 hours of the level 1 charger! Incredible and definitely worth it! I highly recommend this charger for its output versatility and ease of use!
