Almost great but handle broke when trying to twist it back into its original circle to fit into its bag. Hadn't even seen light yet. Quite hard to twist back into shape. Going to still be effective.

Worth the buy!

Tested the gold side out and I love it! This reflector has elevated my pictures!

Misleading product images

Although the product image shows 5 items, you'll only get one item with a single handle on white reflector. The other colors are 2 double-sided zip-on foils. This means you can only use one light at a time.

Floppy disappointment . Unsuitable for one handed use

I have several pieces of Selens brand photography equipment, umbrellas , diffusion socks etc and the quality is usually well above the low cost brands so when I saw this reflector at a big discount I wanted to try it.

I wanted a reflector/ diffuser with a handle to hold in one hand so i could use the camera in the other.

This Selens 32" reflector specifically mentioned one hand use so it should have been ideal.

I also thought the 32" version would be more rigid than the larger version.

However, this 32" reflector is useless for one handed operation . The metal hoop is too thin to support itself and the reflector bends significantly under its own weight , even without the weight of the multiuse cover.

You can see from the picture I am holding the handle horizontal and the reflector is drooping down to the floor and it feels like the handle will give way soon. This is completely unsuitable to use for portraits as it can't be accurately or safely held above your subject

Additionally , the handle doesn't even have a screw mount like other low cost reflectors.

Even at Black Friday sale prices this is overpriced and not suitable for one handed operation.

Not recommended.

Very poor quality

I have been using this reflector for a little over a year. The zipper has broken 2 times and the material is ripping.

Not durable

I used it for two photo shoots worked great then the product broke. Very poor quality plastic. Extremely difficult to fold. The reflectors work good enough. I would like to return it for full refund.

Perfect

These reflectors are perfect for the price and I love the versatility that it comes with. I used these reflectors for my short film "Man of my Word" on youtube which you can find by searching RodneyMac12. I love the fact they have handles on them and they handle light really well. They also come with a zip up bag. I will probably get a bigger size next time.

Stain spots

It came in and it was dirty there was some stain spot.

Best bang for the money!

Easy to use nice quality, not too much more to say! For the money get it.

Note: The photo was taken outside under an overhang.

Used one Paul C. Buff AlienBee main light set off to the right of subject.

Used one Selens sliver reflector, under the chin to the left, angled up

Damaged/Used?

White flector panel arrived obviously marked/damage. I am assuming I got shipped a used reflector. Will keep because it's not worth the trouble returning. I don't like spending money for anything that arrives not as expected, hence the one star.

Pretty good.

Had some marks on it when I opened it. For the price it’s worth it though. It is a little confusing trying to fold it back up to put it in the little bag

Stained, with Hairs

I just received the reflector kit. Upon opening it, I immediately discovered a small scrap of fabric piping which fell off it. Where exactly on the reflector the manufacturer failed to sew it securely remains to be discovered. I also immediately discovered stains and human hairs on it. The stains are disappointing. The hairs are a testament to the manufacturer's inattention to basic hygiene. Worrisome. See attached photos.

What really amazes me is that someone would sell to a photographer a piece of photographic gear assuming said photographer will be oblivious to obvious visible defects. In the words of Science Officer Spock, "Fascinating."

I gave it three stars, giving the kit the benefit of the doubt it might actually perform adequately. After using it, I'll update my review if it performs better or worse than 3/5.

Update 2022 January:

I've used this reflector maybe a dozen times over the past 2-1/2 years. The handles are getting loose, and may soon fall apart. The stains I originally mentioned are annoying, but I've learned to live with them. Cheaper brands of this reflector, which I've purchased, aren't any worse. So, save a few bucks if you can. I'm leaving the rating at three stars for now.

As soon as I open the product I found out it was broken!!!

Will not fold and fit back into its case

Idk of mine is broken or what, but it will not got back into its case. I followed the directions and every time I try to twist it onto a figure 8 shape and then compact it, there’s a big piece that bulges out. Definitely seems like a step is missing in the directions or mine is defective.. also don’t know if this is normal or what, but mine gets stuck instead of completely popping out/unfolding

Great photos for outdoor photoshoots

This 5-n-1 was well worth the purchase. It is a nice size and it's easy to change the diffuser and different reflector options. This is definitely not a reflector you can hold on your own so you'll need a helper. (Diffuser and gold reflector shown)

Works great for price

Came quickly and the packaging was great. Considering the price, the product is of sturdy of construction. It is wrinkled, but any travel diffuser will be.

Broken when i got it

When i opened the package one of the plastic handles were cracked. It's unfortunate and disappointing because that was the main attraction for me to this product. I also feel like the video reviews are misleading because the handles in the videos are rubber and not plastic. The reflector does its job, but the handles are cheap and seem to crack very easily.

Dramatically improves portraits.

I use this for outdoor portrait shots here in Seattle Washington.

Pros:

✅ Very well-priced. I'm surprised honestly. In-store retailers would charge twice the price for this quality.

✅ Versatile: Lots of options, though my guess is 90% of the time you'll be using the silver reflector. But that's up to you... you may find the matte white is your favorite (especially if you live in a place where the sun really glares).

✅ Packs down small and fits into my bike messenger bag.

✅ Works as a background for portraits. (head shots mainly)

✅ Excellent quality. I was popping and twisting this thing around (see video) and the metal frame didn't get bent or twisted at all.

✅ Nice folks at Selens. They actually sent me this magic to test and review. This says a lot about a company in my humble opinion... Selens is solid. (no I don't work for them)

Cons:

🍅 Zipper can stick. Be patient putting this back together. If you're looking to run and gun solo (as some wedding photographers do), keep in mind this may take a few extra minutes to zip back up.

5/5 stars. An absolute must for the portrait photographer who either shoots outdoors or is on a budget and can't afford high end studio lighting.
