Overall, I really liked this mic. As a soprano, it captured my voice very well. However, I was not aware that you needed to have an interface with matching impedance to get the best sound quality. The impedance is how much power is being put back into the interface by the mic itself. If the impedance of the mic is higher than the interface, it can override the system and cause feedback. I only found this out the day my delivery was set to arrive. So, my recommendation would be to be sure to have an interface that is higher or on the same level as the mic that you connect it to. I am currently using the Forsurite Scarlett 3rd Gen which is 200 ohms, but this mic is 350 ohms. As a result, the interface cannot handle the mic well at all. However, if you have the right interface, I am sure this mic would work fine. I am getting a Shure 55sh II Gen instead. It is the same price and has slightly lower range than the Sennheiser but it has an impedance of 150 ohms, which is perfect. I usually don’t write reviews on products, but I felt the need to write one so that people don’t waste time and money like I did. If you have the right interface, I am sure that this mic would work fine for you! Thank you! ☺️

If smaller venues and feedback issues, get the e945
A great mic until you have a e945. I used the e935 for almost a year, then gave it to our female singer and I upgraded. Wow, it is just so much hotter a mic with less feedback. Even turning her highs down in the EQ, we cannot get her levels up as high as mine in smaller venues. My levels on the e945 are just so much higher then on the e935. It seems the super-cardioid pattern really does diminish the detection of ambient stage noise, while concentrating and elevating what is coming directly into it. Gonna order another e945 for the band, great mic.

MOVE UP
So far I am impressed with the clarity and feedback control. i can achieve nice mellow tones without getting super-close to the mike. I would say it performs better than my Sure Beta, which I have been using 30 years! I searched for a higher end microphone without break the bank and this is it. The one i really wanted was like $600! That one should sing by itself!

Best mic yet
This mic is so pretty. It’s sleek and simple. It sound quality is very good. It’s heavier than it looks. The mic box was a tab but damaged, but not by much. This mic is used by speaking directly into it and won’t pick up the rest of the band. It’s ideal for a singer of a band. The Amps and monitors have to be behind you with this mic. I hope this helped.

Sell your 58 and get one of these!
I'm the drummer and backup vocalist for the band Mission Zero (mission0.net); I also play with Ritchie Blackmore in Rainbow and Blackmore's Night. Like so many others, I have spent most of my professional career singing through a Shure 58- a great, bullet-proof all-around mic. My Mission Zero band mate and lead vocalist Chenot was never satisfied with the 58 sound and has used many different vocal mics over the years, searching for the right mic. We recently decided to give Sennheiser a try, and picked up a couple of e935s. What a difference! The e935 is tailor made for live vocals- it's tough as nails, and has a clarity of sound we just haven't heard anywhere else. It's bright without being harsh, and offers plenty of power. Feedback rejection is second to none! Do yourself a favor and give this mic a try- you'll never sing through a 58 again!

Great mic!
I front a band called Bent Knee and I've used this mic exclusively for all of our shows this year. I used to use an EV ND767a and I've used a Shure SM58 in the past too. This mic has a better rounded sound than either of them, and I like the look and the ergonomics of it too. People talk about how the SM58 is indestructable etc but this mic is just as sturdy. Love it. Would recommend!

Love this mic
I sing for the band Islander and have been using this mic for 3 years now. Considering how much I stage dive and do flips into the crowd with this mic (including hanging it from ceilings) it's incredible I have yet to break one. It's extremely durable and it makes my voice sound more clear/more powerful. Love this mic.
