I train solo on the trails, at the gym and local parks.
The device is small, colorful, and loud. When I will accidentally pull it, it makes a loud alarming sound. Not going to lie, wish it was a bit louder.
But for the price, it’ll do for now.
I love the gold keychain.
I still use it and have it on me.

This is perfect! I didn’t want to carry pepper spray on my keys because it makes it too bulky, and this is perfect! This mf is loud too, I spooked my cats when I pulled it to test out. Def recommend to any and every woman!

Bought a yellow Birdie in April for gift in November. Doesn’t work. Only makes a clicking sound! Tried to call customer service and cannot get help—-only recording. I was sent a text to upload picture of issue and didn’t go through. NO HELP….

When you first open it tells you to try it so you know how to use when need be, so I did and it was LOUD! So as I was showing my husband this morning what I had gotten to use when I walk alone..:….it was not loud at all. The first time it was deafening and the second time it wouldn’t cause anyone or anything to be scared. He honestly laughed at me and said “I don’t think that is going to help you at all”! To be honest I had bought my daughter and DIL one last year to put in their stockings. Never seen them carry it, maybe now I know why. Disappointed. I really wanted it to work. And if it did like it did the first time I pulled the hook I would give this a 5 star, but it doesn’t!

Love this! I feel safe when I go on my walks. It’s very loud! Fits right into my pocket or I can clip it on my pants! I love the pink color!

These days, you really can’t be too safe. If I’m out by myself or out with my kids alone, having this thing on my keychain allows my mind to be a little more at ease knowing I could use it to draw so much attention to us if something were to happen. The color is so cute! Very bright and the keychain thing it comes with is perfect to hold all the rest of my keys.
But it is pretty loud for the little thing that it is. I would not recommend trying it out too close to the kids unless you’re trying to show them how it sounds or what not. It will more than likely startle if they are not ready for it.
I love it, I already purchased another to give as a gift.

Taking my safety a little more seriously, and this is a perfect addition to my keychain. The color is nice and matches the rest of my items on my keychain. Sound is loud once pulled. Great to have in case of an emergency.

I purchased the Birdie Personal Safety Alarm because I run and I’ve had some close calls as of lately.
It’s not as loud as the non Birdie alarms and it was initially too sensitive for running. The Birdie would fall out at any little jostle. Running with it would not have been an option. That problem was resolved when I was making the review video and the device fell on the floor. It hit the ground hard and the side of the device opened up just enough to cause tension when it’s locked in place. I’m not returning it because 1.) it fell and is “damaged” now and 2.) I need one right now.
Luckily, the “damage” worked for me. I’ve gone on multiple runs with it and it has stayed put unless I actually pull it.
Again, it is not as loud as I expected in the outdoors. Running on the levee and it is only loud to the people near by.
In a running scenario: as a deterrent for a personal attack the Birdie may surprise an attacker and allow you to run away but it won’t be loud enough to alert anyone else unless they’re close by.
All in all, I would not purchase another Birdie. The off brands offer louder and less expensive options.

I bought the blue version during prime day sales, no wonder that one was on sale. Because it’s light it gets so dirty so fast. I have it attached to my bag via key chain for easy access. Because of the porous material and light color it gets visibly dirty. Got dirty within the 1st week and keeps getting worse. Not a cute aesthetic and may buy in a darker color. If going to buy I’d get the darker color or the more metal-like material versions
I haven’t had to use it luckily so no comment on it working well or not in an emergency but do trust it’d be effective. Will update if any issues or updates.

I bought this product with high hopes. However, the first one I had didn’t have sound when I pulled the alarm. I reported the issue and this company said this has happened with a very small percent of their total devices and replaced the item. A few months after having it I pulled the alarm to see if the new one worked and again, it has no sound. I would not trust that this would alert anyone in an emergency.

The Birdie Safety Device is perfect for my daughter, who takes public transportation home from NYC in the late evening . It's small, lightweight, and easily attaches to her backpack. She feels better knowing that she can quickly activate the alarm.

Purchased for my mom- decided to try it out to show her how to use it and it does not work. Instructions don't mention a battery pull tab or anything that you need to do before using, but not sure if I'm just missing something? Seems like it should be very simple to use based on the directions.

We purchased this Birdie for our daughter who is away at college. We figured it would be a good safety device for her and had a lot of ease-of-use features that pepper spray did not. We ordered one and it arrived very quickly. When opening the product though, it felt flimsy and was made of plastic. Definitely wasn’t very encouraged by first impressions.
We took it out and decided to try it out to ensure it worked. Pulled the cap off and…. NOTHING. Dead as a door nail. Tried several more tries, nothing.
Several days later another Birdie shows up at door. Excitedly open this one up, pull the top and…. NOTHING. Two birdies, two useless plastic security devices. Undeterred, I thought maybe the batteries were dead for some reason. Read the directions, carefully pry the device open, unscrew the circuit board and instal two fresh batteries. Put everything back together and pull the top. It works!! Very loud, strobe light goes off. Success!
My daughter arrives home for fall break and we put the Birdie on her key ring for her. We tell her how it’s going to help her in bad situations and we pull the top to demonstrate. Aaaaand - this pitiful sound comes out that sounded like a dying duck. No strobe light, just this zero fear inducing dead duck noise. Absolute garbage and I would be concerned that the device would fail our daughter when she’s ever in a dangerous situation. Why do I need to now buy packing materials for a completely defective product? Aaaarg - DO NOT BUY THIS!!

When I first received the Birdie it was great, it's seems solidly built for what it is, the pull ring functioned well, I never felt like it was going to slip out accidentally.
I've carried the Birdie for about 6 months daily in my pocket (with a soft internal pocket sleeve) and it started to malfunction on the 6th month. When the seated pull ring was slightly touched, or nudged ,the alarm would activate. It started to get annoying because whenever I would bend down or walk, the alarm would activate without the pull ring being pulled out, I've to explain what the bird in my pocket was when it would go off :D. I'm not sure if this is due to moisture getting into the electronics? The pull ring was not bent out of shape or anything either, it was placed in a pocket sleeve that kept it upright. I do like the product and will be ordering another one when I find a slim hard case for it, I hope this will help in mitigating this issue.

Ordered indigo, received charcoal.; see labeling issue in photos. I let customer service know, so hopefully they fix the labels. This is for my college-bound daughter and it seems to work the way it's supposed to. Hopefully, she will never need to find out if it's a true deterrent.

Loved my Birdie , we have coyotes and I felt safe walking my dog . After 7 months the battery appeared to have died even though I only deployed the alarm 2 times : the gadget started to chirp and then light strobed .
I replaced the batteries and the strobe stopped but when you pulled the pin no more sound just the flashing light . Too late to return, will throw away .

I recently purchased the She Birdie personal safety alarm and I couldn't be happier! As a woman, safety is a top priority and this alarm gives me peace of mind. The loud alarm and flashing strobe light are sure to deter any attacker. Plus, the colorful design is a bonus! Highly recommend.

I ordered 2 of these products for my sisters and I was a little disappointed. I ordered a Coral and an Indigo one and they sent me 2 Coral products. The box even says Indigo.
The sound was not as loud as reviews or advertisements made it out to be. I think it will still be loud enough to alert a nearby person but I was looking for something more.
The light is nice and bright at least.

Since buying this alarm I have set it off 4 times. Once to show my parents, once to show my sister, once to show my friends, and once as I was leaving work, it snagged on my bag and went off on accident. Everyone immediately stopped what they were doing as they thought the fire alarm was going off. I apologized and explained my mistake, and we all had a good laugh about it. Some of my coworkers even asked for the link so they could get their own (I work with all women). All this to say: it’s loud, it’s bright, it’s easy to set off (and the one accidental set off was my own silly fault, not a design issue), and it immediately has everyone’s attention. If you’re considering getting it, my recommendation is buy it already!!

Good loud noise and flashing strobes, but a couple of features are poorly designed and need to be improved to make this product much much better: 1. makes NO SENSE to have the carry ring connected to the actual pin release that triggers the alarm. that causes the pin to open up frequently just by walking and swaying the carry ring. the carry ring should be attached anywhere else on the body of Birdie so as not to trigger false alarms. 2. the batteries ARE NOT accessible at all for quick replacement. and the instructions do not state the shelf life of the device with batteries installed. I get that this can be motivated by trying to get you to buy a new device, but it's very much not user/customer friendly.

I haven't had it a full day and I already feel safer. The only thing I would design differently is putting the strobe light on the same side as the speaker. You're suppose to hold up the speaker at the assailant but then the light is shining right into your own eyes. I won't take a star away for that though because it clearly shows the design in the pictures.
I plan to buy one for my eight year old too

I purchased this Aug 2020. I would give it 5 stars but never owned another with which to compare. I gave it 4 stars because of the security I feel carrying it around.
Since then I had it replaced once within the year because the siren had stopped working but the light still did. It was replaced for free and quickly. Now it's June 2022 and I tested it while in NOLA last weekend but the siren did not work. Not sure how long it has not been working because I had not test it in a long time. I started a chat on their site and was told it is out of warranty and to try to change the battery or use a 20% discount code for purchase of a new one. So I opened it up and moved the insides around until I realized that when I pressed on the circuit board, the siren did not work and when I released pressure, it worked. So I replaced the two screws but left them a little loose and now it works! The video shows after I replaced the parts with the screws slightly loosened. Hopefully it will stay in working order until the batteries die so I won't have to re-purchase and just have to replace the batteries. If not, I might try another brand. I'll make sure to test it more often.

Great idea, but not even close to a Jet ✈️ passing over. My scream will be much louder than this. I gave 2 star because it still a great idea. But don’t advertise it as loud as a Jet! Listen to the video if that’s loud to you. I didn’t get an ear ringing. Failed!

For what I was looking for this is perfect. Some comments said it wasnt loud enough but you could hear it across a parking lot easily as it gets louder and louder. Its a cute color! I got the coral. No issues thus far; hopefully it remains a cute addition to my keychain and I never have to use it but if I do i'm confident it will grab someones attention.
