Killer sound and crazy bass, but the controls take some getting used to

These sound awesome. If you like heavy bass that actually shakes, you won’t be disappointed, but the cool part is the singing and voices still come through totally clear instead of sounding muffled. The noise cancelling does a great job too—it basically drowns out people talking in the background so you can just vibe to your music.

They’re comfy to wear for hours, fit around the ears nicely, and the battery feels like it lasts forever before you need to plug them in.

I'm only knocking off a star because of the controls. The button layout feels a little awkward and definitely takes some trial and error before you stop pressing the wrong thing by accident. Other than that little learning curve, they’re fine.

Great sound and comfort

These are very nice headphones that are extremely comfortable to wear and produce great sound. The options to turn off/on the active noise canceling is nice, the buttons work great for volume control and previous/next track. The fit well on my head and over my ears and fold up nicely. The only reason I took away a star is the connectivity. I have had a few occasions when the music or podcast pauses every 5 seconds and then starts again. It is extremely frustrating, and the only way I could fix it was to disconnect the headphones from my iPhone 15 and then reconnect it. The sound quality and comfort are great but the connectivity has been frustrating. Overall a good pair of headphones.

Do not buy these; headphones came defective and poor customer service

Right after buying my headphones new, there’s been a constant cracking in the right headphone that doesn’t go away.

Everything I could ask for and more- zero complaints and would absolutely buy these again.

I absolutely love these headphones. The battery life is GREAT, they are super comfortable, and honestly this is the best audio I have experienced in a pair of headphones. The bass is amazing without completely drowning everything else out, and the highs are clear and crisp with a really nice balance in between. There are so many features packed into these (and the app) that I’m still finding things to appreciate. They feel very well made and are comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time.

The ANC works AMAZING, whether I’m mowing the lawn (believe it or not), working out, or just trying to block out background noise. The Stay-Aware mode is also really useful, especially in an office when you need to hear whats going on around you. Between the sound quality, comfort, battery life, ANC and all the other features, these really have everything I could have asked for and more. I have zero complaints and would absolutely buy these again.

Amazing sound with long battery life and super fast charging

I absolutely love these headphones! The sound is perfectly clear, and the bass is incredible. (To be fair, I've always used earbuds. These are my first full headphones). I love the noise canceling function, especially when riding as a passenger on a long trip, so I can hear my own playlists without the car music or podcasts mixing with mine. They fit well and are comfortable. Even during a 4 hr car ride, they did not give me a pressure headache, nor smash my earrings into the back of my ears.

They charge very quickly and the battery life seems to last forever. I had no issues connecting then, but of course, when I forget and walk too far away from my phone, I lose the connection. Once back within range, they automatically reconnect.

Great quality sound, comfortable, fast charging, excellent battery life, and a great pricepoint.

Awesome sounding over the ear headphones

Definitely the best headphones I've ever owned. I've had various earbuds, both wired and bluetooth, with and without ANC. This blows them all out of the water. They are just as comfortable as my favorite earbuds even though they are much larger and heavier. They do a better job of sound isolation with out without the ANC activated and the passthrough mode seems to work well. Unlike my skullcandy earbuds, these haven't given me any issues with the battery dying prematurely but I'll be sure to update this review if they don't last several years. I'm happy with the black color and they feel like a quality product that should be quite durable. I'm not sure if the purchase is a good value or not, these are definitely a luxury item as far as I'm concerned. But they sound awesome!

They are worth it

I know people complain about the anc 1080 I’ve been with Skull-candy for a very long I had all the generations of the crushers and still do if you a little more confidence if not, quite ready to buy yet go to Best Buy or the official website on skullcandy.com no disappointment, I don’t blame Skullcandy.

Clean sub bass

Bass - The bass is more of a clean sub bass.

Sound quality - Pretty good nothing too crazy (Best sounding Skullcandys)

Comfort - They're heavy, but they are very comfortable, compared to the 540 active. I feel that this are more comfortable.

Price - pretty pricey

Overall - 9/10

Great Sound!!

The sound quality is amazing, there is a lot of features that are very cool. The bass on the headphones are outstanding. The headphones themselves are very comfy and fit well. At first I was a little confused how to connect them, but I eventually figured it out. I think they are a great value for what they are priced at.

Slight headphone creaking 🌸

I received this as an early birthday gift. I've been eyeing this pair of Skullcandy headphones for a week and finally went through with the purchase. Everything is as expected, which means it's great, especially the bass. The one thing that did confuse me was the slight creaking of the headband when you turn your head a certain way; other than that it'll probably get used to it. 8.3/10

Crushers 1080 are the best

I absolutely love love love these. Highly recommended. It comes with two wires. A Aux cord and a USB-C cable to charge them. The sound and bass is amazing, the settings on the app helps a lot with creating your own custom style. If you need music to block out noise, or if u have autism like me, this helps with loud noises and u just want music. They fit amazing on my big head 😂. The battery life has been great, haven’t charged them in 2 days and they are still playing. Quality of the sound is amazing and the durability for the head piece looks like it won’t break if u stretch it fully

5 Stars All The Way

Really impressed with the Skullcandy Crusher 1080 headphones. The fit is comfortable and the adjustable bass is awesome to use. Great battery life. You don’t have to worry about constantly charging. Overall a great buy for all the features it offers.

I would have left 5 stars had the box not been damaged in transit.

When I purchase an item, I expect 'not' to pay retail if the box is damaged on arrival. However, I was charged retail like the box was undamaged. I was going to give this away as a gift but can't do that with a damaged box! Seller did not mention this simple fact, that the box was in damaged condition. Not cool, I wish I had known this.

And when you think about it, they had to know the damage was visible because it shipped inside a box or bag which had no damage. Take a look, would you pay $279.99+Tax (full retail) for this? Nah! I want a perfect box and a perfect product in exchange for perfect money! The Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC (thankfully) was not damaged (however it occurred) considering the condition of the box, how it looked damaged on arrival. Just Amazing. Well, now we know, Skullcandy has quality box protection in overall transit. Doesn't guarantee it will arrive perfect, tho.

Another caveat, the Skullcandy app 'AWARE' feature doesn't seem to perform too well in hearing on pass-thru outside the headphones. They may need an update for that considering all ANC headphones block noise and allow noise for awareness. Everything else performed flawlessly, the headphones sound incredible! Highly recommend.

Love these headphones

Wow, these are really good headphones! They charge quickly and so far each charge has lasted longer than expected. It’s advertised for 60 hours, but I’ve not timed the amount my husband and I have used this. They are comfortable to wear and adjust easily as well. They go over the ear rather than sitting on it. This design helps make the comfortability of these headphones.

The sound is astounding. The bass can be adjusted with a dial on one side. If you want more or less, is at the touch or turn of a dial. The noise cancelling feature is great as well. When my husband wears them while mowing, he can barely hear the mower. The app allows you to adjust your sound even more, as well as other features, but we haven’t used it often. The headphones come with a storage/carry case, charger usb, aux cord, and instructions.

Bose Quality - Crusher Bass

Honestly the sound quality is great. It’s the same frequency response as other crusher models but even lower frequency response than the anc 2s now the issue I see most people complaining about is the bass is not on par with traditional crusher models which is a more heavy distorted bass. The quality in this model is more dynamic and clear with crisp highs and mids like Bose quality of sound, but don’t get me wrong the bass hits in a more cleaner and crisp way. By that I mean it is a very balanced sound that’s very well done and play any low sub bass song too and it’ll thump. Try bass by asap rocky and thank me later. That song alone will show you how low it goes. The issue i personally have with the headphones is the gimmicks of Spatial Audio and that’s the feature I leave turned off. I feel like they need to put out more firmware updates for that feature because I hear no changes using still/motion on that feature. Other than that if you love Bose audio and Skullcandy patented crusher bass then you will like these. At the end of the day it boils down to sensory and how much you want to feel bass and kill the mid and high frequencies like the other crusher models do. I have these and the crusher active model and tested the same song on both headphones and all other crusher models mute the high and mid frequencies. These are balanced all around and very immersive. Also use your own custom eq in the app. I set my eq to flat on all frequencies to get a balanced sound and I do this on all my skullcandy headphones and it works! Preset eqs are always gonna have their specific tweaks.

8/17/2026 —- UPDATE —— Upgraded to 5 stars because I have been using these headphones for about 2 weeks now and wow they are so immersive and beautifully crafted with precision bass and amazing Bose clarity. Copy my EQ and thank me later! I LOVE THESE HEADPHONES THAN ANY OF MY OLD CRUSHERS

Premium material, feel and sound.

Full disclosure, I'm not typically a fully covered ear headphone person but I got to say I really like these. Most of my comparison is going to be to the crusher 720 and this is definitely a significant upgrade over those.

I recommend downloading the application pairing your headset and then registering your product for full warranty, support access. The Bose hardware/technology really shines through here and this takes it so many steps beyond The crusher 720. Although The crusher 720 is a fantastic listening experience. The true spatial sound makes music listening completely immersive, exposing you to all the multiple levels and layers that music can do. I don't really know how to figure out tweaking the different balance base and treble, but I can appreciate the option to set my list and the experience to podcast or music or movie etc. The absolute noise canceling. It was really nice if you just want to push the outside world out or if you're taking a work call or just want to focus on your video game experience. I like the multi-point pairing as well. So if somebody calls while I'm playing a game on my PC the call comes through. It's not totally blocked out by the absolute noise canceling.

The over the ear experience does take a little bit getting used to, but these are really comfortable. I've got fairly big ears and they fit in quite well. Point of feedback that I'm still getting used to is if I side bend my neck, the earpiece lifts slightly off of my head and it causes the headset to automatically pause whatever I'm listening to. The only time this really comes into play is when I've been sitting for a while listening to a book or a podcast and I try to stretch out. Otherwise I really like that. When I remove them from my head it stops playback immediately and then when I place them back on the playback resumes right where it left off. Very cool technology! Lastly, another comparison to the crusher 720 is the physical materials used to make this headset are a step above: the cushions are more like a memory foam, there's a lot more metal material and the carry case that it comes with is lined in fleece and very plush.

Unbelievable, you have to hear them to believe it.

These headphones are amazing. I'm far from an audiophile but the bass and the noise canceling feature are as good as I have ever experienced. How Boise and Skullcandy were able to emulate the feeling of a thumping bass as if you were at a live concert is phenomenal. The simple adjustment on the left headphone makes it easy to adjust the bass if you are listening to dialogue while watching a movie on the plane. When you turn on the ANC it totally shuts out all the exterior noises. The fit around my ears feel good and I should be able to wear these on long flight without any issues. Super easy to hook up to Bluetooth and has a battery life that will last for a reported 50 hours with ANC turned on.

Highly recommended .

Unmatched quality, I love these!!

I am so in love with these incredible headphones. The sound quality is unmatched and I'm obsessed with the haptic bass feature. The buttons are super intuitive. I was able to connect seamlessly. The squishy ear pockets fit perfectly and the noise cancelling feature is so impressive; tested it out with my 6 year old and a friend playing war. One minute they're here, the next I'm boppin to Heat Waves, my summer favorite. Thank you for making these amazing headphones!! Looking forward to traveling with them and lookin so fly.

You really can hear the difference

These headphones are amazing. I have never owned an expensive pair of headphones before, and I can honestly hear the difference when the noise canceling is turned on. I also like having different modes for music and podcasts because the sound can be adjusted for what I am listening to. They are comfortable and easy to wear for long periods without feeling like I need to take them off.

Skullcandy and BOSE have teamed up to create a Masterpiece.

As a Skullcandy Fanboy and owner of Crusher ANC, Crusher Wireless, and Method 360 ANC earbuds you can be rest assured my review of the Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones will be pretty darn accurate. The attached photo shows them all in a line, and also shows the many features the Skullcandy app offers for these particular Headphones. As you can see, my Crusher ANC's have been used and abused for years and are finally in need of a replacement. All that wear was due to me falling asleep wearing them often, and wearing them while biking, mowing the lawn and doing chores while sweating profusely most of the time.

These headphones are comfortable to wear, lightweight, and can be adjusted to fit your head perfectly. The build quality is heads and tails above the rest of the line up. Big point here, we finally have legit noise cancellation. These feel every bit like the premium headphones you would expect at this price point.

Now for why you are here. Is the bass still here?? Does it crush my skull?? Yes it is and yes it does. The biggest difference between these and my now second favorite Headphones the First Crusher ANC headphones is the amount of customization you have. Now with BOSE in the mix, the bass may not hit QUITE as hard (but trust me it's still there if you turn up that dial) when listening to regular music that isn't bass heavy as there is this new feature that I like to call "insane clarity" allows you to hear notes you didn't know were even there.

Now for bassheads like me who like old school hard hitting bass like Bass 305, Techmaster PEB etc, the bass hits just as hard, but without having to max out the bass. With just a slight turn of the dial (which I prefer over the slider of previous versions) the bass still shakes my head as awesome as ever. Even better, if you want more bass without even having to turn the dial, you have control over the E.Q. and can make changes right there that truly make a difference without having to turn the dial way up. BOSE also introduced something called TrueSpatial which may be a BIT gimmicky however, it's kind of cool to set it to "Motion" and as you move your head left, right, up and down, the music just seems to follow you. Something you would use a lot? Probably not, but still a fun little option to have. Personal Sound. This is not a gimmick, and works as well as ever. You truly hear the difference when you turn it on as opposed to having it off. Notes I may have missed, are suddenly there as they seem to be amplified just where they need to be as I have tinnitus as some of the highs I have always missed in the past are now audible and actually had me in tears in front of the Wife earlier today. Finally, I can hear music the way it was meant to be heard.

Conclusion, for those of you who know what it's like to put on Crushers by any name, these headphones will not blow you out of the water as you know what Skullcandy can do, but these are indeed a worthy upgrade from previous versions of the Crusher line up due to their customizability, and superior Noise Cancellation. For those who have NEVER experienced Skullcandy Crusher Sensory Bass, these will blow your mind! Don't think about it, just buy these and prepare to hear music the way it was intended.

Thank you for reading!

Just buy the 720’s.

These are not crushers.. if you are expecting bass like the EVO or ANC2. These don’t have it. In fact they don’t have any. With the bass knob maxed there’s barely any rumble. Techno and rap you’ll feel sum, rock and everything else you’ll feel next to nothing. And you’ll need to max volume out to attempt to feel anything at that. Anything less than 80% volume there’s zero bass rumble. If you use the EQ in app and raise bass it completely ruins the sound quality. Your best option is to leave it stock. It does sound good, miles better than the EVO or ANC2… ??? no. Just better. They are more comfortable to wear hardly any clamp force which makes it comfy.

You’re better off getting the 720’s, you can custom EQ the sound to be 95% 1080’s with crusher bass that sounds and feels like the EVO’s.

ANC on the 1080’s no reviewer seems to talking about how with ANC on the sound quality is worse, the bass sounds like a blown out sub. Turning ANC off you get better sound and bass has its full range. It defaults to ANC on so if you feel like it sounds like crap that’s why. Turn off ANC or just save money and buy the 720’s or EVO.

Skullcandy Crusher 1080 ANC Headphones

These are amazing headphones. The sound is very crisp and very clear when listening to music. I like that this headset came with a pouch to carry it in. These headphones fit very comfortably and allow for the perfect amount of adjustment if needed. Surprisingly, the bass was not overwhelming. I was initially concerned that this would be the case, but I was pleasantly surprised that the bass only adds just the perfect amount to enhance the music. Even when set to Max.

These headphones charge very well, and the battery life is amazing. I found that the main area that I had an issue with would be that it automatically pauses too often, particularly when I'm moving around. I found that if I shifted slightly and in turn the headphones also happen to shift, then it pauses the music. There are times when I readjust, and it will automatically resume but for the most part I would have to hit the play button instead. This can become quite inconvenient after a few times.

It feels like my 2 12” 3000watt subs and my 2 10”

Man skullcandy did really good the vocals are not distorted and I lessen to heavy hitting songs like slim thug and dubstep witch hit good like my 2 12” subwoofers in my band pass tuned box paired with my 2 10” subs and clean vocals and playing movies and YT videos clean and clear with the bass boosted slider turned off these are the best and hope they last for years and we will see about the battery life when I work 16h straight and the phone calls sound great for my and I’m told it sounds good and they can’t hear like a tv playing loud in the back while on the phone and they are super comfortable and we will see how they will feel after 16h straight

4.5 star product

these definetly have a more natural and less haptic bass. The speaker quality and sound is an upgrade. the noise cancellation from the anc2 is definitely way better. I go to the gym now and i dont hear anything but my music. I have a $5000 system at home that i feel this replicates just right. These are an upgrade from the anc2. if you dont like the price wait. they sound better than anything i put over my ears in bestbuy including top end sony, regular bose, and deifinitely better than beats.

A Solid Choice for Gaming and Everyday Use

My husband has been using the new Skullcandy Crusher x Bose collaboration headphones for gaming, and he’s been really impressed with them. They’re very comfortable, fit securely over both ears, and are easy to wear during longer gaming sessions.

We also purchased the optional cable with the microphone so he could use them for phone calls. Setting everything up was quick and straightforward. Pairing the headphones via Bluetooth was just as easy, connecting within seconds without any issues.

For gaming, the sound quality is excellent and provides an immersive experience. The noise isolation works well, reducing most background noise, although it doesn’t completely block everything out. The build quality feels solid, with a smooth, premium finish and a sleek, modern design. We chose the black color, and it looks fantastic.

Overall, these headphones offer great comfort, simple connectivity, and impressive sound quality, making them a great choice for both gaming and everyday use.

Outstanding Sound, Incredible ANC, and Brilliant Dual-Connection Features

→ Premium sound quality, exceptional comfort, and one of the smartest feature sets I've used in a pair of headphones.

I've always associated Skullcandy with quality headphones, and these Crusher 1080 ANC headphones exceeded my expectations.

🔹 Sound Quality: The audio is outstanding. Bass is deep, punchy, and adjustable with its own dedicated control, allowing you to dial in exactly the amount of low-end impact you want. The mids and highs are clean and detailed, with excellent clarity and instrument separation that make both music and movies sound fantastic.

🔹 Dual Connectivity: One of my favorite features is the ability to use a wired connection and a Bluetooth connection at the same time. I use the wired connection for my home theater system while remaining paired wirelessly to my smartphone. If a call comes in while I'm watching a movie, I can answer it directly from the headphones without disconnecting or changing inputs. It's an incredibly convenient feature that I didn't realize I'd appreciate so much.

🔹 Active Noise Cancelling: The ANC is remarkably effective. The first time I enabled it, someone started talking to me from only a few feet away, and I couldn't hear a word. When I responded, I could barely hear my own voice. It was almost surreal—and a great demonstration of just how well the noise cancellation works.

🔹 Comfort & Controls: Even after wearing them for several hours, they remained comfortable. The buttons and controls are logically arranged and became second nature after only a short time.

🔹 App & Pairing: Pairing with my phone was quick and effortless. The companion app is clean, intuitive, and makes it easy to customize settings and adjust the headphones to your preferences.

🔹 Value: Considering the sound quality, comfort, features, and outstanding ANC performance, these headphones offer exceptional value.

Bottom Line:

The Crusher 1080 ANC headphones deliver impressive sound, outstanding active noise cancellation, excellent comfort, and a genuinely useful dual wired/Bluetooth connection feature that sets them apart from many competitors. Whether you're listening to music, watching movies, or taking calls, they've performed exceptionally well and are an easy recommendation.

MY 13

Immediate Regret

I bought these after owning the Crusher ANC 2s, and I felt sick almost immediately after trying them out. It was an instant regret. As someone who owns and tests plenty of wireless ANC headphones—including the Bowers & Wilkins Px8 S2, Sony WH-1000X, Sonos Ace, AirPods Max 2, and Bose QC—I can safely say that while the Crusher lineup occupies a unique "head-rattling low-end" niche that other brands don't even attempt, this new 1080 model has absolutely no place in that conversation of ANC and sound quality. It is an overall fail, and I am definitely returning them.

Build Quality, Weight, and Fit

The build quality prioritizes premium materials in areas that simply do not matter. They added aluminum on the headband, a bigger Skullcandy logo, more exposed screws, and detailed textures on the knobs. However, all of this aesthetic flair comes at a major cost: extreme weight. You will notice the heaviness immediately, giving off a similar bulky weight feel to the AirPods Max 2.

Because of that added weight, the fit is problematic. While I didn't experience any clamping discomfort, if I lean or bend over, the headphones literally slip right off my head. Worse yet, after just one day and maybe an hour of total use, I noticed visible stress on the headband and ear cup connections. Comparing the 1080 directly to my ANC 2, these bands and cups look like they are going to wear out really quickly.

App Frustrations & Bose Partnership Disappointment

The Crusher app experience on the 1080 is very glitchy. It took me multiple attempts just to sync it with my iPhone 15 Pro Max—something I never had to deal with on the ANC 2. The GUI on the ANC 2 is vastly superior, especially when setting up personal sound profiles, adjusting the equalizer, and controlling the Crusher gain. On the 1080, the EQ is completely useless because the gain adjustments are almost void, and the built-in presets sound even worse.

Furthermore, the physical Crusher knob and the app gain constantly conflict with each other. If you turn the physical knob to MAX, the app can read at minimum (and vice versa), which leaves no actual headroom or precision for tuning. I honestly don't know why Bose put their name on this collaboration, because the ANC performance is below the lowest standard—it doesn't even come close to matching old-school Bose QC35 standards.

Sound, Haptic Bass, and Call Quality

The sound tuning on the 1080 completely lacks performance compared to the ANC 2:

The Bass & Haptics: The bass is nowhere near the ANC 2. I'm not even a total bass-head, but the difference is massive. To get any noticeable haptic response out of the 1080, you have to max out the slider and push the total volume past 70%. On the ANC 2, you get twice the physical impact at half that volume.

Sound Modes: The "Still" and "Motion" spatial/sound settings are completely gimmick pony tricks. The better option is leaving them both off, as turning them on just degrades the audio quality further.

Microphone Performance: On calls, you will sound heavily artificial and "AI-like" to the person on the other end. The only positive is that background noise cancellation works well, and callers come through clearly on your end, but your own voice sound is heavily processed.

Stay-Aware Mode: Completely average and nothing special to write about.

The Unboxing & Packaging

As a minor annoyance, the included instruction card uses font so tiny and fine that it made me wonder why they even bothered putting it in the box.

The Bottom Line

There are simply too many cons weighed against the pros to recommend these at the asking price. The battery life is identical to the ANC 2, but literally everything else—from the heavier weight, slipping fit, and glitchy app GUI to the severely neutered haptic bass—is a massive step backward. Save your money and just buy the Crusher ANC 2 instead!
