Awesome EQ Pedal!!! Buy it!!!

I kept seeing great reviews about this eq, so I pulled the trigger on it. First of all, the build quality is phenomenal!!! It does not feel like an inexpensive piece of gear. Has heft to it and a solid metal enclosure!!! Secondly, after putting this in the effects loop of my Marshall DSL20HR head, I’ve realized what I’ve been missing and I’ve realized I can’t live without this pedal now!!! Completely transformed my amp into a BEAST of an amp!!! The range of each slider has a huge range of tones!!! If you’re on the fence about purchasing this eq, don’t hesitate!!! Just buy it!!! It’s proof that you don’t have to be “blinded” by the more expensive competition!!! It’s also very quiet and I play very high gain stuff!!! My chain consists of a Boss tuner, TC Electronics mini boost, Airis Effects Savage Drive, Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive, Marshall Guv’Nor for the clean channel, and a noise gate going into the front of my amp. In the loop, I have the Sonicake Tone Group EQ and a JHS Little Black Amp Box. Tone for days!!! This piece of gear is very hard to beat for $45 bucks!!! Highly recommended!!!

DO NOT BUY! Stopped working in less than a year.

Absolute GARBAGE! DO NOT BUY!!!

I bought this less than a year ago and it stopped working. The light comes on when the foot switch is activated but none of the EQ settings work. I am using a higher end power supply Walrus Audio Aetos with he proper cable and power supply. It worked great....until it didn't. Don't waste your money. You really do get what you pay for and while this pedal was great...the fact that it only worked for a year and now I have to buy another makes this a DO NOT BUY for me. Due to this, I'd avoid EVERYTHING Sonicake makes.

Very nice EQ pedal

I love the EQ, it is very useful as an overall boost or cut, and for shaping the sound. If you know how to use an EQ, you'll like this pedal.

I have wanted a second equalizer pedal for a while, and after watching the 60 Cycle Hum YouTube review of this pedal I thought I would buy one and compare it to my MXR. For what it is, at its price point I will say I am extremely happy. Unlike the MXR, I like it uses 9v power. For the last month it has resided on my pedalboard and after taking a picture next to the MXR for this review it is going right back on the board.

What You REALLY Need To Change Your Tone!

For some reason, equalizer pedals are not with guitar players think of first when purchasing the core pedals of their rig. I can’t think of a single little box that has more affect on your actual tone, and the ability to change it dramatically, on the fly. My only wish is that each of the equalizer sliders had an LED so I could see in the dark where they were placed. At this price, that’s an unfair ask, it more than delivers. Good product at a great price.

Great EQ pedal with 2 key improvement opportunities

I am new to Sonicake guitar pedals but I was very happy with their other drum-related products in the past.

Sound/tone is always subjective but the ones I could get from this pedal are extremely versatile and I could not be happier. I tried it in several positions, before the effect pedals (overdrive, distortion, etc.), after the effect pedals (before the amp) as well as the effect loop of the amplifier. It did a great job in all positions but I found the effects loop to be the most impactful for the Metal tones I go for.

The pedal came in a very minimalist package. There are not several pages of user manuals and unnecessary wrappings which is a huge plus in my mind. It does not come with a power supply which is very typical and environment/budget-friendly.

The chassis is metal and it is very strong and sturdy. The switch, knobs, and jacks are all of great heavy-duty quality.

There are 2 areas of improvement

1) Pedal should remember its previous state when turned off. every time I turn on my pedal board I have to take an extra step and turn on this pedal again no matter in which state left it previously.

2) The slider would benefit greatly from some LED lights. Especially in the dark stages.

Overall, I am very happy with this pedal. it will remain on the pedalboard for a long time.
