Pink color is not pink

The pink color is not accurate to the description. The color in person is a soft lilac/lavender. The headphones themselves are fine but if you wanted a pink set of headphones this is not the set for you.

Lavender NOT Pink like photo online

Only thing is the color pink shown is NOT the shade you get! Its more lavender 💜 not pink at all and very best mauve. That's deceiving for those who want PINK.

Broken ear cup socket

Nice sound for a pair of headphones under $100 but the socket where the headband connects to the earcup already fractured under normal wear-and-tear after only 7 months. I contacted Sony's Product Support group, Encompass. We'll see if they try to repair or replace this unit which I believe to be defective.

Do not buy

Broke after less than a year. Sony would not cover physical damage under warranty.

Terrible build quality

Absolutely terrible build quality, broke within 3-4 months of use after just taking them on and off the left side completely snapped off randomly. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Great Sound and Excellent for All Activity

I’ve been a certified personal trainer for over 15 years and active most of my life, so I’ve tried a lot of headphones over the years. These Sony WH‑CH720N headphones are my absolute favorite. I have a really hard time with earbuds — when I’m running, doing plyometric exercises, or moving upside down in yoga, earbuds typically fall out. And when you’re doing movements like those, the last thing you want to think about is trying to catch an earbud falling out of your ear.

These Sony headphones have taken that worry away. They stay on no matter what. The ear cushions are incredibly soft around the ears and at the top of the head, and the ear pieces swivel so you can adjust them to fit just right. The headband also adjusts easily, just like the classic over‑ear headphones we all used to wear.

And the sound is excellent — no surprise, knowing how consistently Sony has produced quality audio over the years. Clear, balanced, and immersive.

If you’re active and want dependable, comfortable headphones with great sound, these are a fantastic choice.

POOR NOISE CANCELLATION FOR THE HIIIGH PRICE POINT!!!

Please look for other headphones if noise cancellation and quality material is what your looking for. For the high price point I expected more. Feels very cheaply made and the noise cancellation is not good ir effective at all. I hear everything when its on. I have Jlab headphones I got for leas than half of the price and it has a similar noise cancellation quality. I got it today and I will be returning as soon as possible. Very dissapointing.

My autistic headphone review

Okay, I’m autistic and I never knew that I would need noise canceling headphones that bad, but I like these a lot.

After a year and a half of owning this, here’s what I will say. I wear glasses with a slim frame, and they don’t hurt my head. They’re comfortable enough to wear for long periods of time. Noise canceling is more for blocking out ambient noise, like the sound of the engine when on a bus. But it also helps muffle out loud noises, just don’t expect it to completely do so. You toggle it with a button or it adjusts with your movement in the audio settings. Maybe some scuffs from dropping it, but no tears or visible wear on the cushions or anything.

Battery is also great. It charges fast and lasts for a good while. I wear it for several hours a day, and it lasts for a couple of days of that before I need to charge it. It uses USB-C, which is super convenient. There’s also an option to use a cord to plug it into a headphone jack, which is neat for older electronics or if you don’t like Bluetooth.

I also do not think I had a small head, but the smallest sizing on these headphones still leads to them slipping if I lie down. I don’t think they’ll hold if I run either. Maybe it’s big or clunky looking on me, but I got used to it. The only other caveats are that it doesn’t not come with a case or the ability to fold. That makes it a bit unwieldy, but I personally don’t mind since I basically wear these everywhere. I’m not an audiophile or enthusiast, so I can’t say much about the mixing (which you can adjust) or audio quality.

Overall, I think that it’s a good option to purchase if you want headphones. Price is good, and I got it cheaper during Black Friday. If you want better foldability or quality, you can go for the more expensive Sony headphones or other models.

These Headphones SUCK!!

WHEN they work, awesome. great sound, but disconnecting during a call..... The operative word is WHEN.

I have developed a very strong hate for not only these headphones, but anything Sony, just because these pieces of crap.

Factory Reset. Nope. Didn't help.

Software Update. Nope. Didn't help.

Was on hold with SONY for about 16 years (slight exaggeration, but you get the point) regarding the warranty… gave up before someone actually picked up.

I've done everything recommended, and now I am simply done. I am F'ing done! I've trouble shot these little F'ers for hours..... I hate them. They worked PERFECTLY until just after the return window closed..... And so now I hate Sony too.

Plastic broke after 7 months

The plastic holding the earpiece to the overhead band broke after using this product for only 7 months. The earpiece is now dangling by a wire. I called Sony to put in a warranty claim and they said the physical part of the headphones is not covered by the warranty, only the software. They do not back their product against breaking, so I would suggest not buying this product. I have owned a pair of Bose noise canceling headphones for 10 years and their plastic has never broken.

A solid set of headphones until the material failed

Bought these mid-year in 2024. I don't always loving use ear buds as they make my ears hurt. Solid performance until Mar 2026, when I removed them from my bag, but apparently had done something where I twisted an earphone the wrong way and the plastic cracked and now they will work but don't cover my ear.

Sigh...They are cheaper to replace, but now I'm like do I have to look for something with sturdier hardware

Broke after 1 months

Headphones worked well but broke after 12 months. The plastic hinge on one of the ear pieces snapped and the only way I can find to repair would be with duck tape. Obviously not what i want for a nicer set of headphones. I found several others who had thr same issue occur so just be aware and be careful if you do buy them.

Great Sound but Poor Build Quality. Do Not Buy.

These headphones have great sound. They are also comfortable and lightweight. The buttons are arranged thoughtfully. The Bluetooth radio pairs and connects flawlessly and connections are rock solid. But there is one huge problem with these headphones. They are flimsy and the earcup hinges break easily. See photo. Also, many owners have said that Sony routinely rejects warranty claims for this manufacturing defect. If they break after the end of the 1 year warranty, and you purchased them with a credit card, some credit cards automatically extend the warranty on products you purchase with that card. Check the terms and conditions for you credit card – many offer this benefit. Do not buy these headphones. Check out Creative, Tozo, Soundcore, SoundPEATS, and Edifier for headphones just as good, but with better build quality and most costing less than $100.

Beware of the WH-CH720N

I bought these last year and I always thought they were okay. The sound was decent enough. 30 hour battery life was kind of a pain. Yesterday I broke them just taking them off my head! Where the ear cup is attached to the headpiece it snapped. I thought about trying to glue it back together but the broken edges are too jagged. The build on these headphones is not good. It's past the warranty so I'm stuck with just throwing them out.

Love

Pretty good, sound is pretty efficient, if you want it better, download Sound Connect and adjust the sound to how u like it. The only thing I don't like as much is the space between my head and the over-the-ear part, it's a bit wide 🙁. Love the noise cancelling, pretty good. Anything close to 100% in volume, people can hear. If you're at 50% maybe a bit above, you're good! I wear them all day, comfortable, not heavy, and prefer them over my AirPods.

Broke after 3 months

Loved these. I’ve been wearing them daily and they’re the best for studying and blocking out external noise and distractions. This morning, the R ear cover piece broke and a small piece popped out that. I can’t replace myself. Upon further examination, there is a crack in the plastic between the ear cover and the head band. I haven’t damaged them myself, and just picked them up like normal and noticed that the R side was dangling off. I contacted Sony and they said repair wasn’t eligible through them and to find someone to fix it, but I don’t think it’s worth the price and would rather wait to invest in a more sturdy/durable pair. Very disappointed as these were my go to’s, but now they won’t comfortably stay on my head and I’m afraid to damage the internal hardware given that the wire is exposed. If I could return these and have a new, unbroken pair, I’d be content. But given that I’ve been informed this isn’t possible under the warranty, I remain frustrated. It’s possible not all models are like this, but be warned that if you use these headphones daily, the wear and tear may have consequences sooner rather than later.

Very Meh; Underwhelming; Overpriced

I got these to replace my Anker Soundcore over-the-ear headphones -- as you can see, the Souncore ones falling a part after a couple of years. But these Sony WH-CH720N headphones aren't the same quality. I paid for the brand name, thinking the sound quality, style, and design would be an upgrade. They are not. I'm not sure if these are considered lower-tier headphones for Sony, but I'm not satisfied with a more-than-$100 price tag for these compared to my existing headphones that cost way less. The sound quality is subpar with little bass. I like bass. These are very lightweight in size and apparently quality. They feel cheap. They're easy to use. The Bluetooth feature worked easily enough and connected to my devices. I didn't test the mic because I knew immediately these were not the headphones for me. Money NOT well spent. Nothing special about these headphones. I can't recommend. I'm disappointed in these headphones. Very meh. Underwhelming. Overpriced.

Not as comfortable as I wanted

Bought these headphones in December 2023 and they lasted until January 2025.

These actually weren’t the most comfortable headphones! They aren’t terrible and I’ve definitely experienced worse, but you’re always aware you have them on, and after a couple episodes of a TV show or a couple audiobook chapters, you’ll definitely need a break from them.

I used these a lot! Probably everyday for multiple hours. Towards the end I stopped using them for phone calls cause the quality wasn’t up to it anymore.

I usually don’t write product reviews but another customer posted that theirs broke in the EXACT same way mine did? I left them on my bed > came back > grabbed them and it just fell apart??? It was even the same hinge (R)?

Good headphones, but...

One of the ear cups is loose (as seen in the image I've provided). I understand that I bought these used. But, I don't recall them being in "Acceptable" condition. So, why was I sold headphones like this? This is incredibly disappointing. Evidently, a product being in Very Good or Good condition just means that you can pass off anything as such. Am I expected to get some super glue and fix it? The noise cancelling is great. I wish I could enjoy it more, but one of the ear cups is loose for the reason I stated.

Edit: I can't even fix these things because literally no glue will stick to it. I probably should have just returned them, but too late now. I won't ever purchase refurbished or used headphones from here ever again. Lesson learned.

Broke after 4 months

I know things aren't made like they used to be but I bought these headphones on July 16th 2024, and I don't believe I was exceptionally rough with these headphones. I was taking them off like normal and *Snap* the headphones break. I don't think there was an exceptional amount of force to remove from ones own head but this is simply too fast for headphones to break. It makes me very sad to see this and there isn't a simple way to repair these.

Great…until they break

I have bought 2 pairs of these headphones and my brother has as well. They are great headphones but the only last 1-2 years before the actual over the ear piece of the headphones ends up breaking away from the headband. The wiring remains intact and they still function, but one ear dangles. These headphones are just over a year old. This is not the first pair that has done this. Every. Single. Pair. They all break in this exact same way. It’s not like I’m beating these headphones up beyond belief, but they are just not meant to last. This is extremely frustrating as I love these headphones. They have an amazing sound quality, battery life, and the noise canceling is great for the price point. Unfortunately, I will not be repurchasing these as I don’t wish to have a yet another pair break on me. Avoid these!!!

Not what I paid for

I paid for a new set and it appears that I got a used set as I did not get the correct charging adapter! This is just wrong!

Broke Within A Year and Sony Will Not Replace

I bought this less than a year ago in July 2023 to replace an older pair of Sonophone Bluetooth headphones that had broken. Those lasted several years before wear-and-tear got to them. These, however, cracked a few days ago when I was removing them from my head. Within a few days the fracture had gone completely through and the right headphone was dangling from the wiring, rendering the headphones totally unusable. I contacted Sony and was informed the 1-year warranty does not cover physical damage. They directed me to an authorized third party service center (United Radio in New York) who informed me they couldn't repair this item and to contact Sony for an exchange. Sony refused so I'm going to be trashing this item.

The headphones worked fine. I was never super impressed with the noise cancelling but it was sufficient for the price point. The sound quality was good and no one ever complained about how well they could hear me on phone calls. I liked that the headphones paired to multiple devices which allowed me to toggle between work and personal quickly. However, I wouldn't recommend me these given how apparently easy they are to break and how unwilling Sony was to offer assistance. Maybe these would be better for casual use but for daily use look elsewhere.

Poor quality product

I had doubts about these headphones when they arrived back in July 2023, i should have returned them. But I put those doubts aside and decided to keep them and see how they were. The sound quality is better than other headphones I've used but I've never bought any at this price before so that's not saying much. I've never had noise canceling before, but these seem to be okay for the most part. The bluetooth latency is noticeable on video watching. The problem is comfort and build quality. The ear pads are not good. You can often feel the speaker touching your ear. My ears become sore after periods of wear time. I've had these now for 6 months and as my picture shows these are now broken and Sony does not cover this under their warranty. This is from normal wear. They never leave my desk when not on my head. I have never traveled with them. They are poorly made with cheap plastic materials. In my opinion this is caused by stress on the parts simply by putting the headphones on and taking them off. They are very tight on your head but not so tight your head is pinched. You can not buy replacement parts for these as I have searched. I will not be repurchasing any Sony headphones as I've now seen this same exact complaint with many different models and their lack of backing up their product. They come with a 1 year limited warranty but Sony denies this as flaw in their materials and design. Investigating a repair cost and it could be nearly as much as the headphones cost me (i got them on a prime day sale).

Good headphones but microphone does not work

I recently bought these headphones for myself. I did a lot of research on if they were worth it and good quality and decided to purchase. Now when I use them, the sound is good and I can listen to music but when I get a phone call or I am on zoom, the other person can't hear me. The microphone is very muffled and the people I speak to can''t hear me at all. I am not sure if this is just a bad pair or if this happens to everyone. Overall, good headphones I just wish the microphone worked because now I can't use them for zooms and phone calls.

Cracked within 6 months - Terrible build quality

UPDATE 12/4/23: I was able to glue the cracks and the headphones held out for a couple more weeks. Today they snapped and came completely apart from the headband. Utter disappointment because these are otherwise great-sounding headphones. But clearly, they are very cheaply made. Avoid.

Owned and used daily for ~6 months and they cracked along a seam that seems like an obvious weak point. I use these gently and store them in a case I bought or hang them on a headphone hook on my desk. Never dropped, sat on, or handled roughly. Otherwise a decent pair of headphones. I own Sony 7506's which I love and have had for years and cost less than these do. Upsetting to see poor build quality at this price point.

Support says that cosmetic and physical damage isn't covered by the warranty so I'm stuck with them. I'd recommend you steer clear of these.

Nice sound, SHODDY material

Initially very happy with sound quality and how easy it was to use. I used them to watch some TV and it was wonderful. I purchased on Jul 12 and used them fewer than TEN times over the first couple of weeks after my purchase. Then I put them away. To be honest, the main reason for the purchase was to use the headphones on long international flights which I make a couple times a year (although it was so nice using them to watch TV!). Well, imagine my surprise when I took them out of the bag yesterday and noticed this! Discolored on one side as if I'd been using them for hundreds of hours. Rubbed with a kleenex to see if it was dirt or make up or something, but nope. It has simply worn down from fewer than TEN uses. Inexcusable. Will try customer service. They look so cheap and tacky. Just insanely disappointed.
