sound clarity W/O compromising situational awareness!!

I typically do not review products. I’m lazy. I thought it works or it doesn’t and that’s that. This earbuds is different. Loved it so much I bought another one for the wife. I own AirPods Pro and AirPods. I like them especially the pro. Hard to beat the sound quality but being aware of my surroundings is as important. This V20i sounds as good or maybe even better than my AirPod pros and I can carry a conversation while wearing them. The first time I used it I was blown away by the clarity highs, mids, and even bass. I did not have a lot of expectations because it’s open ear I was even willing to compromise so I can have ambient awareness. I tried 2 different bone conduction headphones but they really can’t compare with in-ear buds like AirPods or over ear headphones clarity wise. But situational awareness is greatly compromised. No compromise here with the V20i. For around $30 I said I’d give it a shot. Sure glad I did. Awesome job Soundcore!!

I tried these and love them!

I have never used this style, but have come to love them!

I can have them both on, but can still hear if someone is talking to me. (I don’t use them at high volume) I tested them out with my friend and they put their ear right up against mine, and they didn’t hear a thing!

They did unpair once, but I quickly had them reconnected. They haven’t done it since. I use them on and off all day! They lose charge after 8 hours, but you can pop them in the case for an hour, and they charge right back up.

I had a question about the charging time in the description (it says 8/36) and I emailed them to ask what it meant. They responded in just a few hours (8 hrs run time/36 hours of charge in the case). They even emailed me a second time a couple of weeks later to double check that I was still happy with my earbuds. I totally am.

I also haven’t had any issues with them hitting or irritating my earrings or glasses.

Pretty good sound quality and easy to use. The customizable function of each earbud is fantastic!

Bye-Bye Big Brand!

10 minutes in and I'm sold. I got these to replace my OpenShokz that I lost and I just didn't have it in me to spend $130 to replace them. These are almost as good sound quality, louder, and can swivel so the sound actually enters directly into the ear (which is probably why they seem louder). I preferred the silicone coating on the OpenShokz, but the soft plastic on these aren't too bad. They're basically the same size as the OpenShokz. What a win for a small price tag!

Over a month use review

Material is good for the price. The mic is better than any other cheaper earbud I bought before!

My voice is clear and the background noise is not really picked up. I really enjoy using it for calls. The sound is crystal clear. The bass is really good.

Durability wise, I feel like it will live. I have been using it for over a month now

Controls are very easy to use by touch. I really enjoy it a lot.

The led light doesn't have to be on ... You can turn it off if you don't like funky style like me.

I have put a charger and a cable next to it to speculate the size of the case and the earbud.

The only thing that I don't like about it ... Is that I can't turn it on after I turn it off for a while. I have to put it back in the case and remove it for it to be available to connect and work again.

Useful and Durable but Weak Magnets and No Strap

So I bought these to use at work and still be aware. The sound quality isn't the greatest, but it was perfect for what I wanted.

Id rate them at 5 stars before today, but now Id like specific redesigns on the case.

Because the case doesn't have a clip or a strap, Ive been keeping it in my pocket. I was at work today when they slipped out of my pocket and hit the pavement. Looking down there was little physical damage, so I snatched up the case and put it back in my pocket. Simple right?

However the case also has weak magnets keeping it closed and keeping the headphones in, so unbeknownst to me the headphones bounced out and got left behind. By the time I learned what happened and went to retrieve them, they had been run over by a commercial Bus.

SURPRISINGLY, they weren’t in pieces and one of them even still worked.

The headphones themselves? Great and durable if a little tiring to wear overtime on the ear. The case? Weak, very little to keep them in and no clasp or strap to keep them secure. Id also like an external hole for a strap to be able to hang them on a belt or a zipper and thereby lock the lids together.

No sync

Can’t get the earbuds to sync after a month and no way to reset. No longer of use and outside the return window. Just Constantine flashing blue and no device can connect.

Repeated Failure of Right Earbud

I loved these earbuds. I was so happy with their customizable fit, touch options and the audio quality. These are my second pair, but not because I wanted a second pair. My first set, the right earbud wouldnt charge and is permanently disconnected from its base, totally useless. It had been about a year and a half, was frustrated but said, "Oh well." And bought a new pair. I've only had this pair for a couple months and the right earbud AGAIN stopped charging at all. It's incredibly frustrating how solid they seemed unyil this happened, and twice with the same side. I've tried cleaning them thoroughly throughout my use but no difference between my first and second pair except for how fast it broke. Seriously disappointed.

Bought as back up to my SHOKZ and I’m SATISFIED!

These are great for the price! I’ve had these now for 5 months. I had to get a last minute pair of headphones like these because my $200 SHOKZ were giving me issues with their sound. Had to send them in for fixing.

I had a race coming up and figured let me get a cheaper and back up pair in case of anything. Satisfied. Sounds is great. Love that the design and style. Easy to use. Easy to connect and disconnect.

I got back my SHOKZ and haven’t taken them out the box because I’m so happy with these.

If I had to buy another pair I wouldn’t hesitate in purchasing another one of these. I probably will. I love headphones that don’t go into your ears and these are very comfortable and has different size settings.

Great value for price

Feels uncomfortable after an hour of use. Holds charge for a very long time. Seamless connects between devices but can connect to only 2 devices at a time. Great for podcast, content but not great for music. Volume seems to be good. Touch response setting is configurable which is great.

Good Quality for Price

Wanted to give over the ear headphones a try to see if I liked the style before spending a large amount on them. These are pretty good quality for their price & definitely worth it to me if you’re interested in wanting to try this style.

Not Satisfied with product

Pause button doesn’t work. Instructions say one click is pause but it doesn’t. I’ve tried it on both ear pieces. Also, I listen to books while working and the headphones don’t last through the work day. There is no viability on the charging dock to let me know what percentage the battery is.

S

Space Case

Stopped working 60 days after purchase.

Quality was low level from the start even though highly rated. Sound never got to a comfortable level for audio books to be clearly heard in anything but quiet environments. For the last week one side or the other would randomly disconnect while playing and the pair would have to be put back in the case to sync up again. Seemed to happen regardless of battery charge or where I was. As of today my phone can find them but not connect. Same with both my tablet and laptop. Find them so they are on and in pairing mode but can’t connect.

There is NO noise cancellation in this model. Controls are clumsy. Battery life is poor. There have to be better models at this price point as this is yet another trash headset.

Amy

They’re decent for the price.

So I like that there is not something stuck inside my ear all day but it does make the outside of my ears hurt after several hours of continuous wear. The noise quality is mid and if it’s windy on a walk I have to turn the volume up all the way to hear it. So far I haven’t had any issue with the battery life fading down after wearing them all day.

Not great for picking up calls, but good sound for the price for streaming entertainment.

Comfy, good quality. No features available to pick up a call unfortunately. Was going to order these for work. Would recommend for streaming or working out tho.

Charger fails like all the others

I like the earbuds themselves, but this is the third different type of earbuds I've bought and had to replace within several months for the same reason: it's just a matter of time before one of the prongs in the charging case gets stuck down and that earbud no longer charges. I thought I'd be clever for these and spray the prongs with WD-40 and cycle them in and out when I first got them, but that didn't work either. It only took 3 months for them to become useless. Moving on to another design.

Edit: Anker got in touch with me, was very apologetic and sent a new set. Upgraded rating to 3 based on customer service and headphone quality. We’ll see how long the charger lasts.

Perfect work wear without obscurring situational awareness.

Use these for work as a CATV lineman. They stay on my ear with out any issues while working on poles. I use them for calls all day, clear voice and crisp sound. They last all day 13+ hours of constant use. Sound is perfectly adequate for music, i can jam out without feeling like the sound is tin-y or gurbly or flat. The biggest thing for me really is the fit, I forgot im wearing these things. I am sensitive to having my ear plugged, it makes my head feel over pressurized and it makes me agitated and dizzy. This solved those issues completely. These have blown all those away. Dropped them in puddles multiple times, taken them out, blown on them and continued using them. Worn them in the rain for day after day. Dirt and grime, impacts, fallen 35ft to the ground. They still work like the day I bought them. They seamlessly switch between my personal and work phone. While on 1 call, I can answer a call from my a different phone with the on headphone touch controls. When the calls over it switches back to my personal phone and continues the call. You get the point, if you need a quality, cheap pair of open ear buds, these are the ones.

Just OK

After reading all of the great reviews on this product, I decided to give it a try because regular “in ear” earbuds often hurt my ears. Although they are top notch, comfort wise, they lack severely in sound quality. I’ve tried them on different eq settings via the app and I still find the sound very tinny and shallow.

Sounds good , case just ok. Update. Such a pain.

These sound good. Not very loud in my opinion. But there is a volume booster in the settings that you can leave it on. They fit fine. No problem ms with the fit. They are adjustable . I don’t care much for the case since it doesn’t tell you how much battery is left on the earbuds. You have to open the app. For the price they are good. I probably should have sent therm back for the white but didn’t want to pay shipping again or sent them back to get another brand with a battery case. But you get what you pay for. Update. Wish I never bought these. I try to pause them, and it keeps playing so I have to keep on trying to get them to pause. I’ll probably never use them again. Waste of money. My old cheaper brand work a lot better.

Good for everyday use, but not reliable for serious running (2-Month Update)

I initially left a 5 star review for these V20i, but after about two months of real world use, I decided to update my experience with a more honest rating.

Pros:

Comfortable fit and lightweight

Good sound quality for the price

Works well when connected directly to a smartphone

Fine for home use, walking, or casual workouts

Cons (for runners):

I bought these mainly for running. When paired with my phone, they work mostly fine, but I occasionally experience brief signal drops, the music pauses once every 10–15 minutes. It’s not constant, but it does happen.

The real issue appears when using them with my Garmin Forerunner 265 to play music directly from the watch (no phone). In this scenario, the connection becomes very unstable after about 10 minutes. The audio starts cutting out badly (3 seconds playing, 1 second pause) and does not recover on its own. I have to stop, pause the music, disconnect, and re-pair the earbuds, which is very inconvenient while running.

To rule out the watch as the problem, I tested the same run using JBL earbuds, and the connection was flawless the entire time. That confirmed the issue is with these earbuds when used with a Garmin watch, not the device.

Final thoughts:

These are good earbuds for everyday use, but if you’re a serious runner who relies on a smartwatch for music, they may not meet expectations. Because of that, I’m updating my rating to 3 stars, decent product, just not the right one for my specific use case.

Missing Charger and Cable.

I bought this new, not used, but I think we received a used (or at least previously opened) box.

Package was missing both the USB-C charging cable and brick that was supposed to come with it, and the instruction manual had some sticky brown substance inside.

This was a gift and the recipient had a USB-C cable that worked, so they opted not to send it back for a replacement, but make sure you get what you paid for if you order this.

Don’t waste your money

They sound good and are comfortable. My issue is, seems like every time I get them out and put them on, and then play a video or song, I have to reconnect them. Also, when wearing them and answer a call, they randomly revert back to the phone so I either have to pick up the phone to talk, or click the option to send sound to the headphones. Battery life is ok. If I still had the box I would return them. They also will not connect to multiple devices simultaneously. So if I want to switch to iPad, I have to go thru the whole reconnect process.

Great fit, ok sound

I bought these to directly compare with another pair within the same price point. Here's my initial analysis:

Pros: Great fit. These things dropped right on with very little effort to get them in place properly. While not as adjustable as the other pair I bought, I didn't need them to be. The design just worked. I switched between the two multiple times during the day. Results repeated.

No audio/video delay.... Or at least very little. Fast reaction sounds lined up well with what was being displayed on the screen.

Cons: Sound quality is flat and slight distortion is noticeable.

Had to download a phone app to adjust things to sound better. (More junk on my phone to operate things)

Build quality is not as good as the other brand/model.

I prefer the better sound and premium feel of the other one, but the terrible experience to get them on my head might be reason enough to err on the side of these.

I'll be doing more testing before returning one or the other.

Received different product

I ordered this item, which is listed as "Soundcore V20i" on 10/14/2024. What I received appears to be the "Soundcore Aerofit" although the packaging and included documentation is for the V20i. It also has "Jason's S23+" in the bluetooth history so I'm pretty sure I got a refurb. The list price for Aerofit is higher than that of the V20i but the V20i has some fit-adjustment ability, larger drivers, and Bluetooth 5.4.

This is my first experience with Soundcore and my first experience with "over the ear" buds. I don't really have an issue with how these work, but it is disappointing that you can't count on receiving what you order.

Not a good fit

Note: I attached a pic of the anatomy of the ear because I wasn’t sure how to describe the fit otherwise).

I struggle with finding earbuds that fit my small ears. I was excited to try these out. My first impression was great. They have great sound and it seemed like they fit good. However, the longer I wore them the more dissatisfied I became. They have to fit in the concha just a bit and for me it puts too much pressure on the antihelix and antitragus (again, please refer to the ear anatomy pic I have attached). Sadly I have to return them and continue my search for the perfect pair of headphones.
