MADE IN CHINA

MADE IN CHINA - The listing is inaccurate. Save your money if you’re trying to support USA manufacturing. Starrett has unfortunately joined the list of companies that are starting to send American jobs overseas.

Poor Quality Adhesive Backing

The adhesive backing doesn't cover the entire back of the tape measure, so grit gets under it and eventually creates a bubble in the tape. Not worth the money. It feels a bit like planned obsolescence.

Easy to see

Great tape for my table saw , had to trim it down a little on the width so fence could lock correctly but that was no big deal . It's a lot easier to read than old tape .

Great stuff, please read!

Excellent! My planar is now PERFECTLY calibrated! It came with this super dumb measuring tape that... well, I really don't know what they were doing with it (see second picture... this is NOT a picture of THIS product that I'm reviewing!), it was just awful and I couldn't get an accurate cut with this stock tape.

Now, since replacing it with THIS tape (see FIRST picture, the actual picture of THIS product), it's accurate down to using my micrometer!! Down to the 1/128th of an inch!!

It was a little difficult to get the 3M backing started off the adhesive tape (which I found to be a good thing - means this adhesive is heavy duty), but after that it peeled off very easily. The tape is metal, which is nice. It shows the markings very clearly in inches and millimeters, left to right. It's great. I'd DEFINITELY buy again, and I might when it comes time to redo my miter table. Great stuff!

Metric vs. Imperial Measurements

Wanted to start working with metric measurements in my wood shop. Metric is much easier to use when it comes to dividing measurements. Attached this Starrett Tape Measure to my Delta table saw rail and find it ideal for my measurements.

Perfect for my cutting table.

I used this for my quilting cutting table. Works great and was easy to install.

High quality, looks great. Be aware right to left.

I thought it would be plasticky but seems to be metal and sticks extremely well. Pay attention that it goes from right to left and not left to right (0 is on your right side).

Nice tape

Worked great when I rebuilt my Delta ras

Rusted

Good for the price however I didn’t realize how it can rust. I have this on my work bench and occasionally get saltwater on it.

Starrett...now made in China

Disappointing to receive and see they are now made in China. I put it up to an old one I have and there is some areas not matched. I would seek out an American made option if you're on the fence about this one. U.S. Tape is a good source. Even Kreg tapes are U.S Made.

Works great

I needed a tape measure for my mitre saw table. This worked perect inlaid into my table. I ordered a left and right tape. I still need to finish routing the second inlay but very happy with the product.

Great value. Perfect for work bench layout tool

Adhesive holds very secure. Scale very easy to read. Can't go wrong with Starrett.

Only reads left to right.

Same model number as in the listing but clearly states "reads left to right" even though the description indicates that it can be read both ways.

Buyer beware

Makes my work surface even more useful

Used for quick measurements on my garage work surface. Its not used for super precise measurements as i have other tools for that purpose. This will get the job done for those quick measurements for wiring harnesses and a quick reference on your project.

Dead-on accurate, sticks really well

I got this to replace the inaccurate measuring strip on a new (to me - I bought it used) rip fence/rails for my older table saw. The strip laid down by the rail manufacturer was progressively inaccurate so by 12" it was over 1/8" longer than the actual measure.

Before mounting this, because of prior review comments I laid it out alongside a known-accurate tape measure to check. I found it to be exact. Then I fastened it to the rail with the adhesive backing, and took two other tape measures and compared again (see images). You can see from them that at 30", this Starrett tape exactly equals both of the tape measures.

I found I could pull the tape back up immediately after setting it down, to reposition more accurately (I let it wander off an absolutely straight line). It stuck back down just fine. Generally adhesives like this take a bit of time to best adhere, so there is a tiny bit of work time - but you don't want to do it more than once or twice.

I cut the tape using tin snips - it seemed a bit thick to use a pair of household scissors.

It provides 1/32" divisions to 12", then 1/16" the rest of the tape. The tape makes it easy to see smaller divisions with longer lines at 1", ½", ¼", and ⅛" divides.

The metric scale is divided by millimeters throughout the tape.

A great value that will allow me to measure rip widths accurately without having to use a separate tape measure, which will make me more efficient as I work.

Solves the life long problem of my ruler running off and hiding from me.

Good quality product made of metal with a good adhesive backing and I found it very easy to glue into place with my bad hands. Plus, I have some left over for another spot.

Great needs it’s partner (Right to left)

Love it. Works great. Very good adhesive. Tough durable steel trim-able tape.

Easy to read and strong backing

These are built very well. I put them on my work bench and flooded them in epoxy. They are metal backed and very easy to read. I'm not sure how accurate you need but if you're going down to a 1/16th you probably should be using something a bit more delicate.

Just as Expected

This is a Great product to add or replace measuring tape to any working Equipment. I used it on a Table Saw Rails that I Restored. It work Great, the adhesive is really strong so it will stick well, just make sure the area is really clean and free of dust.

I Recomend this Product. Remember that you can order different lengths, sizes and measurements readings.

Awesome find

Love that it’s metal! It stuck right to the countertop and added that perfect detail to our workshop, definitely a must have.

As advertised

I use this on my table saw. It's stuck good and was pretty easy

Printing smudged

UPDATE: New item showed up promptly as usual, and quality was great!

Showed up quickly, but printing was smudged in a few spots which makes it a no go for my situation.

Decent product

I put it on my craft room table edge for a quick and easy measuring tape. I love it. My only gripe is that the edges are sharp and pointy when cut, so you need to be wary or placement. It works great though. It's made with 3m adhesive, so its very strong.

Love it

Fantastic product. Inlayed it into a work bench. Only con was the 3M glue backing that has several ripples which caused it to not lay perfectly flat... very minuscule detail. Very happy with this product overall. If it came wrapped up with the measuring (the face of it with numbers) facing inside the glue would have turned or flat is my guess. Something to consider in the production of the product.

Just what I needed for the kayak!

This fit perfectly along this side of my kayak. I cut it down to 30" due to space limitations on the yak. I added silicon sealant every 6 inches or so to assist in affixing it but the adhesive backing is pretty good.

Not just for saws!

I used this on the edge of a sewing table and it has saved me so much time fiddling with a regular tape measure.

Works for me !

This will work for what I want, to be able to line up my fence quicker instead of guessing or having to measure every time when cutting something. I just hate having to waste so much time doing crap like that. Now I believe I'm with-in 1/100th so close it's amazing how a $.7 dollar item can help save you so much time. I did like instructions said and cleaned the rail real good and was dry and didn't take 10 minutes time to have it done and right the first time around. Mine is set on 17 inches which was the best I could find to work for me on my table saw all I wanted was some number's and lines to work with and this fit the bill totally for me, and cheap to boot. It stuck tightly as no problems at all. I would recommend this to anyone looking to do as I did on their table saw. I'm including some photos of my job and hope it helps some one.

Fits Ridgid Table Saw

I have a Ridgid Brand Table saw on Casters. This one fit great on my table. I did have to hold it down a little further away from the table than the factory saw tape. But that was no biggie. The factory tape is about 7/8" wide so I was a little hesitant to go with the Fastcap tape even though I've heard it's great.

A useful tool in the graphic design field

The tape is very useful for my work in the design field. It adheres to the wall well. The only thing is that I didn't expect it to be so small, the centimeter side is a little hard to see from four feet away but it's great to help determine how high to hang signage.

Another fine Starrett product.

Wish this had been a 3/4" wide tape instead of 1/2", but it's installed and working fine. Thanks for the fast delivery service too.
