Very modern
The first chapter was hilarious. After that it went downhill. Very few laughs after the first chapter. Words like idiot, stupid and jerk are used. The parents are referred to as provincial which is defined as unsophisticated and narrow-minded in the book. The book portrays these provincials as scared of change. It’s all a bit too modern for me. Then they said lots of women and even some men swooned when they saw the Prince. We stopped reading at that point. I’m not sure what’s in the last half of the book.
