Fantastic Performance and Value for a New "Classic"
The performance of the Superlux TM58 Dynamic Supercardioid Microphone has truly impressed me. It really punches above its weight class, offering a sound quality that rivals the other “classic” 58-style microphones while being much more accessible. While it is an excellent choice for music applications, I've found it to be a great option for podcasting, streaming, or even as a dedicated gaming mic—as it's easy to use with any USB/XLR audio interface.
The build feels solid and reliable, making it a durable piece of gear for regular use. What really stands out is the value proposition; at $45 (at the time of my review), it provides a high-quality audio experience that is nearly half the price of some of its more well-known competitors. If you're looking for a versatile, high-performing microphone without breaking the bank, this is a fantastic choice that delivers on every front.

Review of the TM58
Its similar to the sm58 in apperance, with a similar frequnecy response curve and specs. it didnt require much gain from my pre amp, but i use extremely clean pres. If you have a interface with nosier pre amps, it may be a problem, but at 45db of gain i had no issues with hitting 6-12 at a normal speaking volume. It was prone to plosives so a pop filter or a wind screen would be ideal, unless you have good microphone techinque. Overall, i didnt mind the microphone, you can EQ it just fine, and for my voice it was fine.

Fantastic Budget Mic — Clear, Powerful, and Shockingly Good
I’m honestly blown away by how good this microphone is for the price. The TM58 feels solid in the hand, has a clean, professional look, and delivers a vocal tone that’s far better than I expected. The sound is clear and natural, with a nice balance of warmth and presence, no weird harshness, no muddy lows, just a really clean vocal pickup that works great for speaking and singing.
The cardioid pattern does exactly what it should, it focuses on the voice and cuts down background noise, which has been a huge help in both live settings and small recording setups. It handles loud volumes without distortion, and the built in shock mounting keeps handling noise to a minimum.
For anyone who needs a reliable mic for stage use, rehearsals, streaming, or general recording, this is an incredible value. It performs like something in a much higher price range. I’m extremely happy with it and would absolutely buy it again.
Highly recommended.

Very good vocal mic
The Superlux TM58 Dynamic Vocal Microphone appears to be based on another popular microphone that has been an industry standard for many decades. The appearance and build are similar. The Superlux has a solid construction that is comparable to the original. The sound is good and has a good frequency range beginning about 20 Hz then sharply dropping off around 10 kHz. It seems stronger on the midrange frequencies. This is also similar to the original.
The microphone is accompanied by a user manual and a microphone clip/attachment. This mic clip is tight and a bit of a challenge to get the microphone into, but it holds it very securely. This is great if the mic will stay in the stand, not so great if you are using it during a performance where you want to remove it from the stand periodically.
I have another Superlux microphone that I use often and which I am very happy with the performance of. I would definitely purchase other Superlux microphones based on my experience with them so far. I think this TM58 is an excellent mic at a fantastic price. I highly recommend it.
