My new pick for "Best Bang For Your Buck" controller on Nintendo Switch 1 and 2
Before I get into this review proper, I have to clear the air on something here. Neither company's website lists the controller among its products. So having said all of that, I'm going with ExtremeCool NC800, and throughout the rest of the review that's what I'll refer to it as, but for all I know some other combination of those brand names, product names, and product numbers may be valid.
Okay, having said all of that, the NC800 advertises something that I haven't seen often, and have only seen done well just one time: it claims to be both a Nintendo Switch controller and a Nintendo Switch 2 controller (in addition to other platforms). And by this I mean it doesn't just connect to the Nintendo Switch 2 via backwards-compatibility with Nintendo Switch hardware and accessories, but also makes use of at least one of the Nintendo Switch 2's unique features - namely, the ability to wake the Nintendo Switch 2 from sleep mode, which most Nintendo Switch controllers cannot do. You may recall, the last time I found a controller that truly backed up this claim, the EasySMX S10 Controller, I gave that controller the eShopperReviews 2025 Game Award for Best Hardware. So the NC800 is aiming pretty high, and has big shoes to fill.
I won't bury the lead here: the NC800 is indeed capable of waking both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 from sleep mode, and on Nintendo Switch 2 it does this the exact same way as EasySMX's controller: you sync it to the Nintendo Switch 2 like normal, and then while still in the controller menu, you detach and reattach the right Joy-Con 2 controller from the console. It's an oddity I don't quite understand, but for whatever reason this seems to be a loophole that enables the wake function on this controller for Nintendo Switch 2.
Well, okay then. That's the tough part out of the way right at the start. So then the question becomes, how well does the rest of the controller hold up? Let's have a look...
Like many of the Pro-style controllers released for Nintendo Switch, the NC800 replicates the general size, shape, and layout of Nintendo’s own Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, with asymmetrical analog sticks with a concave top, along with standard face buttons and D-Pad in the usual places. The outside edge of the grips are very lightly textured. Overall I felt this controller was fairly comfortable to hold, much like holding Nintendo's own Pro controller. It's not nearly as comfortable to hold as the Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, but that's possibly the most comfortable controller I've ever held, so falling short of that is no slight against the NC800.
The D-Pad is more on the "clicky" side of the "squishy/clicky" spectrum, but isn't too terribly loud and feels very responsive and controls well in-game, while the standard face buttons are more on the "squishy" side and work similarly well. As for the analog sticks, the NC800 is equipped with hall effect sticks, which works in a way that won't suffer from drift. In my opinion, everything here works well, no complaints.
Moving on to the rest of the standard features, on the top of the controller, we have a pair of clicky L and R bumper buttons, as well as a pair of ZL and ZR triggers with switches that change them from analog to... well, let's say "faux digital" - they still have a little give, but not much. The analog triggers are important for playing on non-Nintendo platforms that can make use of them, but for play on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, it's nice to be able to swap to the more-responsive digital(-ish) triggers since the Nintendo Switch line of hybrid consoles don't use analog triggers in their Pro-style controllers, meaning that feature would be wasted here and just result in less-responsive triggers. All of this is to say that having switches to allow for both types of trigger is an excellent feature.
Getting back to the controller's face, the secondary face buttons are all present, but swapped around a bit. The home button is now the large silver ExtremeCool logo button at the center-top, plus and minus are roughly the same place they usually are, and the screenshot button is now on the right side under the plus button. For those wondering, this controller does not have Nintendo Switch 2's "C" button, nor its headphone jack.
In place of where the screenshot button usually is, there's now a turbo button that works in the standard way this sort of button usually does, and underneath it is a macro-programming "M" button, which I'll discuss in a little bit.
When it comes to the other standard features of Nintendo Switch controllers, this controller includes decent gyroscopic motion control. And while it doesn't have HD Rumble or HD Rumble 2, it does have adjustable rumble, which is a decent enough tradeoff. However, it does completely lack Amiibo-scanning functionality.
Flipping the controller over to look at its underside, we see the aforementioned trigger switches to either side near the top, and then farther down there are a pair of macro buttons that can be assigned to a button or a sequence of commands, like a Street Fighter-style "hadouken". This is done using the macro settings button I mentioned at the front of the controller, which is fairly easy enough to set up despite being on opposite sides of the controller from the macro buttons you're assigning commands to. Finally, at the bottom in the center is a lighting adjust button to change the color of the LED lights on the front of the controller.
In addition to Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, this controller is also designed to be used with both Android and Windows platforms, and while the former worked just fine, I did notice some input lag when using the controller wirelessly on Windows, which was disappointing. It seems this controller could have really made use of a USB dongle for improved accuracy on PC... a dongle that oddly enough there's a spot for in the included USB-C controller dock, even though no dongle is included.
Yeah, I should talk about the controller dock for a moment. Whether or not you like this will be a matter of personal preference. Personally, I prefer to just plug in my controllers the old-fashioned way, because a USB-C plug is interchangeable and not specific to this controller, and not having one of these devices in the package means I'm not spending money on it. On the other hand, if you don't have a lot of controllers you're swapping in and out, I could see how you'd appreciate the convenience this thing adds. Like I said, personal preference, so I don't consider the inclusion of one of these things as a mark for or against the controller, I'm just letting you know it's in here, and you can choose to use it, or not.
There's one more major feature here worth mentioning - the NC800 is compatible with the KeyLinker Android app, enabling players to quickly change button assignments, turbo settings, vibration strength, and other options all without disconnecting from the platform the controller is synced to. This is always a welcome feature, and I'm glad it was included here.
When it comes to downsides, there are a few here, and I'll start by mentioning things the EasySMX S10 Controller has that the NC800 doesn't - as mentioned before, it lacks Amiibo-scanning capability, it doesn't have the high-end TMR analog sticks, it suffers from a laggy wireless connection on PC, it doesn't have that controller's interchangeable D-Pads, changeable faceplate, or weird jerry-rigged "C" button. And like EasySMX's controller, it only has two macro buttons, lacks Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller's extremely comfortable feel, HD Rumble, game-specific GL and GR buttons, and headphone jack. Also, and this may just be personal preference, I found that muscle memory was causing me to press the screenshot button when I was reaching for the plus button, which was irritating.
That said, there are a few things going in NC800's favor over the S10. The ability to swap between analog triggers and faux-digital triggers is a big one, and of course there's the controller dock, but the biggest thing the NC800 has going for it over both the S10 and Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller is its price - at $40, it's 2/3rds the price of the S10, and less than half the price of Nintendo's controller. Given how competitive the NC800's list of features is with these more high-end controllers, its comfortably mid-range price makes it an absolute steal.
Because of this, the ExtremeCool NC800 Controller (or whatever it wants to call itself) has unseated the champion and has become my new pick for "Best Bang For Your Buck Nintendo Switch/Nintendo Switch 2 Controller". To be sure, I'm not saying this is the absolute best controller for either of those platforms - the S10 and Nintendo's controller are still competitive in that regard on Nintendo Switch 2. But if you're wanting a controller and looking to get value for your money, the NC800 is your absolute best choice to date.

Excellent controller, packed with features at a great price
This controller is amazing for switch and switch 2! It also has instructions for pairing with Android devices like a phone which I havent tried, but Im sure it would be great. I originally bought it to use with my PC, but for some reason one of the triggers didnt work. I thought it was broken, but then paired it with my switch 2 and it worked perfectly, so I will just use it for that. It has cool limiting switches on the back that change the pull distance on the triggers, so you can shoot really fast in shooters and other games, and set it to longer for racing games, or games where the length the trigger travels is important.
It has LEDs that can light up several different colors, and you can have it pulse through them, as well.
I love that it comes with a charging dock and USB cable, as that is always nice to just drop a controller back on a dock and not have to plug it in.
There are QR codes on the back that take you to a user guide as well, which is really handy because I can never remember what button combos to press for pairing, and this lists it out step by step.
Overall, this is a great controller, and while I wouldnt recommend it for PC specifically, it works great as it is listed for as a switch controller.

Solid Controller That Actually Charges Without Drama
Picked up this Svetaecho Switch controller specifically for the built-in charging dock and it's been the upgrade I didn't know I needed—no more hunting for USB cables or dealing with loose connections, just drop it in the dock and it charges. The D-pad feels responsive, button layout is comfortable for longer sessions, and the wireless connection stays solid without any lag or interference issues. For the price point, this is exactly the kind of practical improvement that makes regular gaming actually more convenient.

Switch 2 Controller
This Svetaecho Switch 2 controller with charging dock is a solid third-party option, especially if you want Hall Effect sticks and a convenient docking station.
The Hall Effect joysticks and triggers are the standout feature—smooth, precise, and no sign of the stick drift that plagues many original controllers. Response feels accurate for both platformers and more precise games. Wireless connection has been stable on Switch and Switch 2, with quick pairing after the initial setup. The ergonomic grip is comfortable for longer sessions, and the included charging dock makes it easy to keep topped up without hunting for a cable.
Battery life is good for the price (plenty for a few longer play sessions), and the programmable buttons/turbo options add some extra flexibility if you want them. It also works across Switch models and can connect to other devices if needed.
Overall a practical, drift-resistant upgrade that feels more premium than many budget controllers. The charging dock is a nice bonus for keeping everything organized. Good value if you’re looking for a reliable Pro-style alternative for Switch 2 or multiplayer.

An okay Switch 2 controller cosplaying as an Xbox controller with some caveats
First impressions of this controller, this definitely feels like a Switch 2 controller dressing up as an Xbox controller while also tacking on a bunch of bells and whistles. Lighting, trigger buttons with more throw than a typical Switch 2 controller, turbo buttons, memory buttons, and a large central home button. Plus its got its own recharging dock which is actually is very satisfying to use and handy. So for the price, you're definitely getting a lot of features, maybe more than you would need most of the time for Switch 2 games, but if things like lighting, turbo, and memory buttons in the back are your kind of thing, this controller is probably worth a look.
Most of the controller works fine without issue, but my biggest complaint is the D-pad. Just doesn't feel as responsive and is also rather stiff to use. Also with this type of third party controller, my other concern is longevity. How long will it last? Historically its been hit or miss with these types of controllers so that is also something to keep in mind.
All in all, its an okay controller in terms of short term value, with a couple caveats.

Very happy with it
Our family plays a lot of Switch. We used to just use the Switch 2 Joy-Cons and the Pro Controller, but we wanted another one so my son and I could play with more people (aka my wife). I originally planned on getting another Pro Controller, but they're so pricey so we decided to try out an alternate option.
We settled on this one. So far, it's awesome! I was mainly drawn to it because it came with a charging dock. Our controllers always seem to have no battery at the worst possible times, so it's very convenient to always have it be topped off and ready to be used. And I'm happy to report that it works exactly as I hoped; it uses wireless contacts to do the charging, so you just drop it on whenever you're done and easily pick it up when you want to use it, no fiddling with plugging it into a port or anything.
As for the controller itself, we aren't pro gamers by any means, but it definitely gets the job done. Another big selling point for me were the hall effect sticks. We had a Switch 1, and almost ALL of our Joy-Cons got stick drift at one point (we'd been playing it since its original release date) so it was a point of contention for me. We're constantly worried that the Nintendo OEM controllers we use for the Switch 2 will eventually suffer the same fate, it seems like it's just a matter of time. Hall effect sticks don't have that problem at all, and it's reassuring that this is a little more future proof.
As for the rest of the controller, it plays fine. The buttons feel good and close enough to the Pro Controller. If the Pro Controller was a 10/10, then this is a solid 9/10. It feels very durable and the response is great, it just has a slightly less premium feel to it, although it still is very nice. It has other features like trigger locks, turbo functions, and RGB lights, but honestly we'll probably never use any of them. We just wanted a nice controller to play some Mario Party with, and this delivered in spades.
Overall, it's a great controller that is much cheaper than the official Nintendo controller. It was well worth it in my opinion and should be a serious option to consider if you are looking for another Switch 2 controller.

Well tuned hall effect sticks
The Svetaecho Switch 2 controller is a good quality controller. It came with the controller, charging dock and charging cable as well as a user manual and warranty card. The controller itself is very comfortable, has well tuned Hall effect sticks, full triggers with trigger stops and two back buttons that can be programmed to any other button on the controller as a macro or turbo. The dock however didn't seem to work all that well and I ended up having to use a different type C cable with, which fixed the issue I was having which was intermittent power to the dock (there was likely a short in the cable it came with). I tested the controller in Fortnite Switch 2 edition and it worked surprisingly well and was very accurate. Usually on off brand OEM controllers I have to set the deadzone for the sticks to zero (which is a feature on this controller as well) but I didn't need to this time, as I said before, the sticks are well tuned. Overall a great controller and I would recommend it

Finally, a Switch Controller for Grown-Up Hands
I needed a real controller for my Nintendo Switch. Something a little more substantial, a little more serious, and frankly a little more adult-y than the smaller controllers I had been using.
This Svetaecho controller fits the bill. It has that familiar full-size controller feel that sits much better in my hands and makes longer gaming sessions more comfortable. The layout feels natural, the controls are responsive, and the whole thing just gives me more of that traditional console gaming experience I was looking for.
Sometimes I want to play the Switch without feeling like I'm holding a controller made for someone half my age and half my hand size. Problem solved.
Bottom Line: If you love the Switch but want something that feels more like a serious, full-size gaming controller, this is a nice upgrade. Comfortable, responsive, and much more adult-hand friendly. The kids can keep the tiny controllers.

Solid option for the casual gamer
Thanks for making our gaming experience on the Nintendo Switch 2 a little more enjoyable.
As you might have noticed, our family has a Switch 2, and it's been great. The only caveat is that the stock controllers are a bit cumbersome and awkwardly shaped, making them uncomfortable to use for extended gaming sessions. I've been playing video games all my life, and I have to agree with the kids on that.
Once I opened the package and took out the controller, I immediately held it in my hands before even turning it on. Ergonomically, it does seem to be an improvement over the stock Nintendo Switch 2 controllers—but honestly, just about anything is. LOL.
It took a little time to get it synced with the Switch 2, but once it was connected, it functioned just as well as the stock controller. This controller is marketed as a higher-end option with features that can be compared to some of the more expensive, customizable controllers. I've used quite a few pro controllers over the years, and I do believe you generally get what you pay for. While this controller is more than sufficient for the kids, I wouldn't use it for competitive gaming or if you take gaming very seriously. Then again, I don't think the Switch 2 is really the platform for professional gaming anyway. Just my opinion.
Functionally, it does everything as advertised, so I can't fault it there. However, I do think you can get better-quality components in a controller if you're willing to spend just a little more. This controller is great for kids and casual gaming, but as I mentioned before, it's probably not the best choice for the truly avid gamer.
At this price point, I think there are several competitive alternatives available. Since you're already spending this much, you might consider paying a little more to get a controller that offers greater customization, from button colors to the tactile feel of the controls.
Overall, this is a good gaming controller. If you're a casual gamer, it's definitely a solid option.

A good all around controller
This controller works great with Switch, Switch 2, and Windows, and feels very premium despite its mid-range price. The manual is very clear and easy to understand and can be downloaded online with a QR code right on the controller if you lose it. The charging dock is also a great quality of life feature that helps you keep it charged and give it a nice place to stay. The buttons, sticks, and d-pad all feel great quality and much more of a premium 3rd party brand feel than I expect from a name like Svataecho. The triggers even have mode switches to choose from digital or analog mode. The RGB lights are kind of cool, although I was a little surprised they didn't include a full rainbow mode or a white mode. The vibration motors are very strong (but also adjustable). Even for a Windows only gamer this would be a great option with its analog triggers and many macro modes. I will say if this does have a weak point, I think the app would be the weakest point, but you do not have to use it.

Great controller for the switch 2
My son uses this controller all the time and has been very happy with it. He really likes the feel of the joysticks, and he says the controller is comfortable to hold, even during longer gaming sessions.
Connecting it to the Switch 2 was simple. It synced successfully on the first try, and we have not had any connection problems. He is also a huge fan of the short-trigger switch options because they make the triggers feel quicker and more responsive, especially in fast-paced games.
The charging stand is a great addition because it gives him a convenient place to store the controller while keeping it charged and ready to use. He also likes being able to change the colors of the LED lights and customize the look.
Overall, it feels good in his hands, works reliably, and has several useful features that he actually uses. Definitely worth five stars.

The charging dock is convenient for keeping the controller ready to use, and the customizable RGB lighting adds a fun touch. The macro and turbo functions are easy to set up, making it a versatile option for different games. Overall, it’s a feature-packed controller that offers excellent value for Switch players.

Super slick controller
This controller is a great replacement or upgrade from the basic controllers for the Switch 2.
I love the illuminated sections and how easily the thumb joysticks move. The battery charge lasts through several hours of gameplay.
The controllers are lightweight, so if you play for a long time, your hands won’t get tired.
Although a tad pricey, this controller is a solid upgrade.

This controller’s charging connector inserts at the top of the controller. Other controllers use the bottom of the controller and this causes the wire to break due to bending. Easily pair’s it to my Nintendo switch. Use the controller with the wire and still play while charging the controller. (Included) Great Controller lots of features. Highly recommended.

Stunning
We love to play the games on our switch and using those dainty little JayCons when you are a large-built man is a bit of a task. So I ordered this for myself and boy how it seems so much better. A full-size controller compared to those tiny JoyCons ANYDAY! Charged it and paired it with ease. Now when we play, I grab my controller. The colors are bright and vivid and I love it. The rumblers can be adjusted to your want or need. It has all the features of most standard wireless controllers for the switch but this one comes with a few more buttons and features. I love it. I had to order another for her... go figure!

Great wireless/wired controller
I like this controller a lot. The lighting is just beautiful, and the crackle paint made it feel not so slick, but it could use grips of some sort. It does feel comfortable in my hands though and the weight of it was great, doesn't feel cheaply made. It makes the gaming experience so much nicer.
It was a little confusing for me to program the buttons, so I'll get someone to do that for me. However, it was really easy to connect wirelessly to my Nintendo Switch and usb wired to my PC. I haven't tried to connect via Bluetooth to my PC and haven't connected it to my Android phone yet.
The controller comes with a usb type C cord, which is nice because I can also charge the controller using the same cord as my phone. The battery lasted a good while and I played with it a few hours a day, but I played without the lighting effect during the day and lighting effect on at night, so that might make a difference with the battery consumption. I love how the letters YXBA buttons are large and show through the buttons and aren't just printed on top. All the features the controller has are great.
Overall this is a really nice controller and very fun to play with. I have no issues with it so far so I would recommend it to others.

Beautiful Controller and it Works Perfectly
First of all, I LOVE the look of this controller. When it's on, it lights up into a beautiful blue and purple colored design.
It took me a while to sync it to my Nintendo Switch. You have to plug it into the Nintendo Switch docking station to sync it and I was doing that and following the directions, but it wouldn't work. I had it plugged into the USB 2.0 socket, but as soon as I moved the plug into the USB 3.0 socket it synced up. Once it's synced up the first time, you don't have to plug it in anymore, it stays synced.
I was worried that I wouldn't be able to use two off brand controllers (two different brands) and the two Joy-Cons that came with the Switch at the same time, but they all work together perfectly.

Colorful experience
This controller has been nice to play with the Nintendo Switch. The Initial connection sync was an issue at first, but it eventually connected. I love the illuminated colors. They're not too bright and not too dark. The battery life has proven to be better than the OEM Joycons. It feels great to hold and your hand will not get Fatigued easily. Definitely would recommend to anyone who is looking for that traditional controller feel instead of the tiny controller feeling of the Joycons that come with the Switch.,

Fantastic, responsive, colorful controller
Straight out of the box, I loved the way this controller felt in my hands. The shape is almost identical to Xbox controllers, which for me, makes it much more comfortable to hold than the regular switch controllers. Since it also has the crackle paint look, the controller has mild texture that makes it feel like it isn't going to slip from my hands. It paired instantly with zero issues.
Pros:
- The lights are bright and colorful and make playing in the dark easier and more fun. There are also different light modes to choose from.
- The joysticks are rubberized and my thumbs don't slip off
- Programable Macro buttons will make certain games easier
- Buttons are responsive
- Doesn't lose connection if I hold the controller at an angle (which my switch controllers do occasionally)
- Comfortable weight in hand and doesn't feel cheap.
- Turbo button. While I don't use turbo, it can be helpful in fighting (and probably other) games.
Cons:
- the joy sticks are slightly tall, and for my small hands, that could get tiresome after a while.
All in all, this controller is wonderful, comfortable, and works perfectly.

The colors are so beautiful
My son loves playing his switch and he always wants me and his dad to play with him, but the joycon switch controllers are too small for his dad and almost too small for me when playing 2 players. So my son and I went on a quest to find one.
So he picked this one because he thought it looked so cool. When he took it out of the packaging I told him it reminded me of an Xbox controller. The colors are beautiful. It’s not obnoxiously too bright which I like since I have sensitive eyes. It was so easy to set up (he did it all by himself) and synced without any issues. The thumb joystick is smooth and the buttons are responsive. They are perfect for his little hands as well as for adults. It pairs up right away when you turn on the switch and controller. Then you can get to playing your games.
We have been using it since it arrived. We couldn’t wait. Luckily it was charged (not sure if it was full). We are truly enjoying it. We recommend.

Quick delivery, box was damaged
Pros
The controllers seems pretty responsive to me but I haven't used it a ton yet.
I like the textured feel of the controller personally but others might not. It is not a smooth controller.
The color is pretty vibrant and is why I got it.
Easy to pair with my switch. Make sure you read the instructions though. I haven't tried it on my computer yet.
Cons
The box came damaged. It didn't seem to affect the controller though.
I dislike the indent in the joysticks. I don't understand why they are becoming popular because to me it makes it harder to play. I plan to find covers for them though.

Very Nice Controller; More Pros than Cons
This controller looks great! There is no denying that. Love the plain black when the lights are off. Love the beautiful colors when the lights are on! The crackle paint is smooth to the touch and the weight of the controller is very nice. After playing with it for several hours, I did find a few pros and cons.
Pros:
- Very easy to pair. I've had troubles with some other wireless controllers, but that wasn't the case with this one at all. Paired in seconds.
- Rubberized joysticks make for non-slip controls. Very nice touch.
- The lights make the buttons easy to see when playing in the dark. I didn't even realize that this was a feature I was missing!
- Size of the controller is nice; larger than the standard Switch controller, has more of a "gaming" feel.
- No lag or negative effects on gameplay..
- Never disconnected while playing (which is something I have experienced often with some other wireless controllers). Definite pro!
- I like that the charging cable is a Type C cable because if (when) I misplace the one that came with it, I have 30 more in the house that I can use!
Cons:
- The buttons aren't in the same place as the controller that comes with the Switch. The "+" and "-" buttons are quite far from where they are on the Joy-Con, and the +control pad is shifted towards the center. I get that this is simply because the Joy-Cons have to be setup a certain way to allow for attaching to the Switch, but it is something to keep in mind if you are used to the Joy-Con setup. Luckily, I was playing Animal Crossing so it didn't matter if I had to keep looking down to find a button, but I could see it being an issue if you were playing a fast-paced game. Not a deal breaker by any means, it will just take some getting used to.
- The controller is slippery. While the paint is smooth and does feel very nice to the touch, it might be a bit too smooth. More than once, the controller almost slipped out of my hand. It would definitely benefit from some type of grip on the handles.
- The joysticks are very tall. Again, I didn't find this to be a deal breaker, but the height does result in a different hand position. I didn't play long enough to know if it would become uncomfortable or not.
I can't speak to the battery life yet, but if I do find that there are any issues with it, I will come back and update my review.
Overall, I do really like this controller. So far it is better than any of the other wireless controllers that I've tried.
