OUTSTANDING!!!!
OK, even though I ordered this months ago, I just managed to get it installed in my new store this past week. I'm still waiting for Spectrum to come and get my internet installed, but for now, I can tell you this....IT IS AWESOME!!!!
The most difficult part is getting the cameras mounted where you want them. The leads coming out of the camera are just about 7/8"s in diameter, so be prepared to drill that much of a hole if you plan on running the wires through walls and obstacles. I wish the mounting bases were a bit bigger as once you drill the main hole, there isn't a lot of area left around it for the mounting screws. I had to drill through metal panels on the outside of my building to get them mounted and that left ZERO room for error. Now, once you've got them mounted and run the wires, connections could NOT be any easier. You've got 8 ports in the back of the unit, all numbered. Simply insert the wire into the desired slot and CLICK....that's it. Once you connect power and your cable to the computer or TV, you're done.
Yes, there is some set up you have to do through the app, and it's fairly easy to get through. Swann makes it very simple to follow along.
Once up and running, there is a mouse you can control your system with independently of a computer. You can monitor, replay, pause, program each channel. This system does not miss ANYTHING. Light, dark, dusk, pitch black....it it's in the cameras field of view, you're going to capture it. You can even zoom in on individual channels, crop images and save specific views. they thought of EVERYTHING.
While setting up and installing isn't too difficult, the features rival, and surpass anything and everything I've seen from companies charging 4x's for a comparable system. I LOVE this set up. I wish I could upload some images for you to watch and look at, however my internet isn't in yet, and the nature of my business requires that 6 out of the 8 cameras ate NOT for public consumption(high security areas). I will throw a still below that was taken with only 6 of the 8 cameras installed. This is the standard view once you have it connected to a TV or other monitor.
Again...well, well worth the price and more.
