Good Controller, Sleek and Stylish Look

I like the Synido 25 Key USB MIDI Keyboard Controller. The keys and pads have a good feel and sensitivity. You get all the necessary cables and a carrying bag also. The editing software works well also. The only drawback I found was that you can't edit the pads and hear the sounds as you program the pads, but that is common with controller editing software to prevent software conflicts. The Synido K25 has the ability to upgrade it's firmware by using the Synido editing software and I demonstrate how to do it near the end of the video at Time: 25:06. Good controller, Good Price, Easy to use. 5 Stars.

Excellent controller for the aspiring music producer

Synido USB C MIDI Keyboard Controller TempoKey K25

This is a great keyboard, excellent value. The capabilities for the price are outstanding.

You can download software from Synido's site that offers additional capability even if you're not currently running any music production software. This allows you to map many of the keys to your preferred functions and save multiple different maps. Huge help when you're working on percussion tracks exclusively, instruments, whatever you can think of.

The backlit buttons are a huge help when I'm working late nights in my home studio.

It's a very sturdy piece and the carrying case is well padded for its size. There is an interior pocket to keep cables and other gear separate from the keyboard itself.

Let's Be Honest! REVIEWS

Absolutely Blown Away This MIDI Controller Is Punching WAY Above Its Weight!

I had to leave this review because clearly a lot of people leaving the low ratings do not understand what they bought. This is a MIDI controller, not a tiny standalone piano or synth. It is not supposed to make sound by itself and you have to connect it to software like GarageBand or Ableton for it to work. Once you understand that, this thing is an absolute beast.

From the moment I opened the box, I was shocked by the quality. The sleek semi transparent, scratch resistant UV coated case looks and feels premium. The 25 velocity sensitive keys are deeper and wider than the usual mini MIDI controllers and that makes playing so much more comfortable. With the four touch settings (soft, normal, hard, fixed) you can dial in your exact feel. The keys alone make it feel like something double the price.

Then you get the 8 backlit drum pads which are also velocity sensitive with note repeat and the ability to switch between two drum kits. The pads have a great feel and the entire system is very responsive which makes beat creation smooth and enjoyable. Pair that with the 360 degree push encoder, six transport buttons (play/pause, stop, record, loop, rewind, fast forward), and the OLED screen that gives instant real time feedback and it honestly feels like a tiny command center.

And the extras. Synido went above and beyond.

The USB C cable has a leather style strap for cable management and I have never seen that included before at this price point. The carrying shoulder bag has padding, structure, and even the strap feels prestige quality. It all feels like someone actually cared about the user experience.

The build, the accessories, the expanded features like tap tempo, swing, note value switching, MIDI output, pedal input, and the mapping software all of it is quality on quality on quality. For real how is this the price it is?

If you’re buying this as a MIDI controller which is what it is you will be blown away.

If you thought you were buying a tiny piano that is on you not Synido.

I am beyond impressed. This little TempoKEY K25 setup delivered way more than I ever expected. Highly recommend!

Great MIDI keyboard

This is a great MIDI keyboard. Keep in mind it is MIDI, it is NOT a regular music keyboard. You will need to plug it into a computer or other device to use it. It doesn't have a speaker of it's own, it's not designed for that. The description is pretty clear on that, but I noticed another review where the person didn't seem to know what a MIDI keyboard is, so I wanted to clarify.

There are lots of different computer programs that can interface with the keyboard, my kids used Band Lab, which has a free version and interfaces with a website, so you don't have to download or install anything. They seem pretty happy with it.

The keyboard seems pretty nicely made. The keys and buttons all work smoothy. It has various touch controls, drum pads and knobs that are customizable for the program that you are using it with.

It comes with a very nice USB-C cable and a really nice carrying case. The case is a soft sided zipper case with a fun keyboard print on it and has a carrying strap.

Awesome for the money, smooth functionality, digital screen

So first ignore bad reviews that say it needs a 3rd party app. Know that you DO need a DAW etc but it's a MIDI controller not a standalone synth. That means it sends MIDI notes to your computer and controls software instruments inside your digital rig. It’s not intended to make its own sounds by itself.

If you’re not familiar with this workflow check out some vids before diving in. I stand behind REAPER for you daw if you’re new, and you can grab a lot of free stuff here and there for kontact player.

On to the actual review. lol.

It came with all you need to hook it up including a nice two or three foot usb cable, adapter from standard USB to mini c, and it’s powered by included USB cable. Came with an adapter for MIDI out to go from what looks like an 1/8 jack. I’m not familiar with the tech but I assume it’s for your MIDI in on your interface.

Had a nice little case, was a bit hard to get out as it didn’t open really wide but it was nice materials. At least it can’t fall out the bottom. lol. Case has an inner pouch for the cables and all.

Everything was easy to use and really intuitive despite my not knowing much about controllers. It’s only 25 keys or so but if you’re after a small one I think it’s great bang for the buck. The velocities seem right for me, everything I tested was smooth and functioned properly -plug and play- except the transport controls, which I didn’t set up in reaper as I have never set up transport controls before. I’ll list the cc notes it displays on screen below though so you can check your compatibility. Considering the way it operates I feel very confident it will work as intended.

Everything is high enough quality that I’d buy it with my own money in a heartbeat for a small space.

The pads and knob’s have two banks each, and every button is backlit when in use and a few even change colors depending on the setting.

The main volume knob seems to limit the highest velocity value going out, the arp is adjustable, has tap tempo as well. I didn’t deep dive into the arp but it did work, and I’ll post a pic of the screen when you turn it on, which displays the settings and should give you an idea of what’s available to use.

The mod slider will jump to where you put your finger and the pitch returns to zero. Looks like transpose goes up to six semi tones, up and down, there’s octave up and down buttons that light up if in use, and you can turn velocity touch off if you want.

It’s a slick little unit, can’t find fault.

Vid attached. Thanks!!

Loop: Cc 21

Small Size, Big Versatility High Quality and Ready to Go!"

The Synido TempoKEY K25 is an absolute standout for anyone looking for a high quality, compact music production tool that is super easy to use right out of the box. I love the versatility of its small size because it is really compact and easy to store, making it perfect for a desk with limited space or for taking your studio on the go without sacrificing professional features. The build quality is super great and feels durable enough for travel, especially since it comes with a nice custom storage case and a shoulder strap to keep everything protected. It also includes all the necessary attachment wires, including a USB-C to USB-A cable, a USB-A to USB-C adapter for modern laptops or mobile devices, and even a 5-pin MIDI converter for connecting to external gear.

To get the most out of this unit for free, you can utilize programs like GarageBand on Mac and iOS or Cakewalk on Windows, both of which offer a professional recording environment at no cost. For those who prefer working in a web browser, BandLab is an excellent free option that syncs perfectly with this controller. You can also download MPC Beats, which is a fantastic free DAW for beat-making, or use the free version of Vital if you need a powerful synthesizer to play with the K25’s responsive keys. Additionally, Synido provides their own free Control Panel software that allows you to easily customize the knobs and pads, making this a truly all in one package for any aspiring or experienced producer.

Great compact controller for a home studio

I bought this mainly to use as a controller for my home composing setup. I already own an older 25-key MIDI keyboard that has served me well, and this one definitely does not disappoint. The build quality is surprisingly good. The pads are firm but very sensitive, so it is easy to get the right velocity for drumming and sampling.

The keyboard itself feels solid and well made. The keys are smooth, responsive, and actually a bit larger and deeper than the ones on my older 25-key controller, which makes it much more playable. It also came with a nice cleaning cloth and a crossbody bag. The bag has plenty of room and makes it super easy to take the keyboard with me. The quality of the bag is better than I expected.

The included software was simple to download and set up. Overall, this is a great choice if you need a compact MIDI controller and keyboard for a home DAW setup. It works well, feels sturdy, and is a solid value for the price.

Cheaply made and poor functionality

Don't fall for the video hype, look elsewhere. Within two days of owning this and barely using it one of the control knobs started glitching and changing the values erratically on its own (pay attention to the display screen in the video). Just barely tapping the knob would cause it to go wild and move values up or down. Because it was erratic I couldn't use other knobs because it would interrupt them, unless a kept pressure on the broken knob. I noticed that the knob felt a little looser than the others as well.

In addition to this the pads weren't responsive enough and would miss beats if tapping 16th notes at a moderate to high bpm. The tap tempo function was terrible as it just seemed to make its own bpm up based on what you tapped; it didn't match a metronome at all and can't be mapped to ableton's metronome.

I could take or leave the design. Its glossy and picks up a lot of fingerprints.

I would say that the neat features like onboard CC control and arp. controls are just bells and whistles used to mask and distract from its lesser qualities. Save yourself the stress and waste of time and just save a couple more bucks for one of the more reputable brands.

Perfect Midi

I bought this to start making music and it works perfectly. I have no complaints other than my lack of knowledge regarding setting it up... The drum pads, the keyboard, the cords, and all the knobs work with no problems.

Very versatile, solid USB/MIDI controller

This is a very versatile MIDI keyboard controller that can be connected to a digital audio workstation via USB or via a MIDI cable. The packaging is extremely nice. On the box itself is a large chart illustrating some of the ways the keyboard can be connected. The keyboard comes with a nice looking vinyl zipped case with shoulder strap and handle. The case has a pocket to hold cables and interfaces. The keyboard itself is solid, and the keys are large enough to feel comfortable playing. Some of the included features are pitch and modulation controllers, an arpeggiator, eight drum pads and eight customizable knobs that are split into two banks. There are also buttons for transposing and changing octaves. A tape controller with fast forward, rewind, play/pause and stop can be mapped to your DAW software via MIDI controllers. The company provides downloadable software that makes it fairly easy to do the mapping if you understand how MIDI works. In the rear of the keyboard is a quarter inch jack for you to insert any standard sustain pedal. This is a well thought out package that gives you a lot for the price.

Too good for the price.

I've been recording since the days of reel-to-reel, so I've seen the prettiest and the ugliest of music tech for a long time now.

My go-tos for a MIDI controller have been 49 or 61-key rigs for years. I've played with smaller rigs a bit, but the keys always left me incredibly disappointed. While these certainly aren't full or even mid-size keys, they are not only very well-spaced, but are velocity-sensitive - and for small spring-action keys, they FEEL great. All the controls and pads do too, and the touch-sensitive ribbon-style pitch and mod strips with corresponding lights are a nifty, smooth addition. (more on that at the end)

This was my first foray into using a KB controller for more than just keyboard parts, but for controlling my DAW (A VERY old, by choice, version of Studio One) more deeply as well - and I was not disappointed. My DAW instantly recognized The TempoKEY, and I was recording keys, basses, strings and drum parts within 5 minutes - and using the TempoKEY as the transport control on my DAW throughout it all.

This little machine is incredibly well-built, with ample controls and a beautiful finish - and it comes with not only everything you need to connect it and get playing, but the nicest little carrying case you could hope for (which is seriously padded to boot).

My ONLY little picky performance thing is... I use a pitch wheel - a LOT. Because of the nature of the pitch strip on this, there is no center detente. So when you reach for the pitch strip, you have to hit the center exactly before pulling down or pushing up, or there'll be a teeny jump in pitch. TOTALLY not a deal-breaker.

Lastly - It comes with it's own software package, which I installed and tried once, but I honestly didn't need to use it at all, so I haven't formed an opinion.

All-in-all, this is an amazing little keyboard/controller. And it is especially nice considering the ridiculously low price point.

Synido built this one right.

Fun, well-made, mini keyboard, with lots of options

This keyboard is a lot of fun for midi, enthusiast and beginners as well. Lots of sound options. Lots of connection options in a portable package, then aluminates or spells out in an LCD window. Exactly what tones and sounds you have programmed in. Powers itself via the USB cable when connected to other devices. Seems very well-made in like a really great deal for the price, easy to operate, easy to see everything, except the tiny LCD window is a little hard to read at times, but performance for the price is definitely there. Comes complete with a carrying case that holds the device as well as the multiple cable accessories that come with it. Also, a strap for the case. Lots of fun.

Compact Key to Captivating Creativity via MIDI Controller Craftsmanship

This Synido MIDI controller arrived in an attractive full-color custom box. The box opens to a connection guide layer, which then opens to the padded color case and optional carrying strap. The case is attractive and contained the controller, instructions, a cleaning cloth, USB-A charging cable, OTG adapter, USB-C to USB-A cable, USB-A to USB-C adapter, and a TS to DIN cable.

This is an attractive, well-made and comparatively affordable MIDI controller. It features 25 keys, 8 backlit pads, 8 knobs, 6 transport buttons, pitch bend, modulation touch strips, an OLED screen, and more.

This appears to be a fantastic controller to use with your preferred application (e.g., DAW). I've had fun testing features and plan on using this to dive into Ableton Live. I look forward to learning more about this device and what it's capable of. It seems to be a very nice tool.

All in all, I'm happy with this MIDI controller. Should my experience with it fall out of sync in the future, I'll update the review.
