Jacks are very close together

It’s apparently one of the best noise gates you can buy. But did the jacks HAVE TO BE so close together? I now have to get out my soldering iron and put new, non flat jacks on two wires just to use it. Before you say I shouldn’t use these patch cables, this board has 30 pedals on it. I need as much space saving as possible.

Best noise gate I have ever owned

If it wasn't for the jumpy encoders in the Windows toneprint software and the (currently, 2018-12) missing manual on the tc electronic website I wouldn't have hesitated to give this pedal 5/5 stars.

Long story short - the pedal is by far the best thing that I could have added to my guitar chain and after some tweaking it converts any noisy high-gain amp and pedals into something controllable that is fun to play with. I wired my pedals and preamp into the send/return loop so most of the presets in toneprint may be too aggressive and it is worth spending an hour or two playing with the parameters until the pedal reacts as required. The result I got makes the SENTRY react as if it wasn't really there. No pumping, hissing or cut-offs left. My guitar rack now just feels like I would be playing with a super modern, extremely quiet metal amp. The hiss of my overdrive pedal and the quite noisy Engl E530 preamp are gone. However, even subtle hammerings on the fretboard are audible and ring out naturally. I haven't used the mac nor the iPhone & Android interfaces.

Cons:

- tc electronic using toneprint as one of their main selling arguments for their pedal range and not offering a user manual is a no-go. I think I am not alone when I say that it is not really self-explanatory why things react like they do in the interface. A basic 1 or 2-pager should be the minimum

- 'encoders' in the Windows interface are very 'jumpy' and it is hard to dial in the desired value. Adding the value with the keyboard doesn't work either. That would be a nice thing to add/change in future versions (current version: 4.05)

Pros:

+ Everything else. Still amazing value for money and absolutely recommendable

Tried a number of noise gates, including the EHX ...

Tried a number of noise gates, including the EHX silencer. This one blows them all away. Wanted a gate that would allow me to roll off my volume knob in crunch mode and still gate. This is the only one that really works. Get it!

Killer noise gate with a big bonus feature.......the Effects Loop!!

Wow this thing has worked wonders for the hum and buss my Fender jazz bass was putting off. Just dial in the sensitivity of the Threshold so it activates the noise gate at just the right time. If you are using a delay effect, you will have to dial the threshold back to lessor degree to get the delays to ring out, which is not a problem. My rig sounds great and has never been quieter.

Now for the bonus feature.....the effects loop!!! Before I started using the built in effects loop, I was experiencing tone suck, which was bumming me out. Now I run my Octave pedal, and my Chorus/Delay/Reverb pedal in the send/return loop off the Sentry, and then back out to my Ampeg DI box. That completely solved my issue and my tone is the same now as if my bass is plugged direct into the amplifier. Huge difference! I initially bought the Sentry for the noise gate, but the effects loop was feature that restored my original tone. Awesome product!! You will not be disappointed!!

Drains 9v battery to quickly

I love the pedal, it gets rid of all my noise and feedback, but it drains 9volt battery so quickly, I've gone through 3 battery's in 2 days ! I wonder if my pedal is defective ?

Seem kind of weird, but this is my first Tc electronics pedal so I'm not sure
