the advertised frequency range in manual for type 1 cassette is 30hz to 13000hz while it even starts to decline near 13000hz.
A cheap 90s tape deck would sound better in my opinion. This would have been acceptable if it costed 200 us dollars at most.

Fantastic modern cassette deck – brings back the analog magic!
I love cassette tapes and wanted a reliable new deck without dealing with vintage repairs. The TEAC W-1200 delivers perfectly. Dual decks make dubbing and parallel recording super easy, sound quality is warm and clear (great noise reduction too), and the USB output is a lifesaver for archiving old tapes digitally. Pitch control adds fun flexibility, and build feels solid. Highly recommend for anyone reviving their cassette collection or making fresh mix tapes in 2025!

Great tape deck
I found vintage / used tape decks to be costly to repair. I’m very pleased to have this new deck. The noise reduction makes the hsss close to none existent during play back. Both a&b decks can record. Nothing flimsy. The buttons are electric not demanding the pressure from the figure to lock the controls and the doors are solid and tapes slide in easily.

Makes old tapes sound incredible!
This unit puts out incredible sound. I really love just about everything about this unit. I only have one complaint. It only has one input and one output. Not an issue if you have an amplifier or powered speakers,or if like me, you only need one for the record player. But if you have any other unit or streaming device, you will need a way to switch between them. Again, for me it’s not an issue but it may be to some.
