Great for our conferences

My company frequently has live conferences which we have viewable online for other companies and employees that were unable to make it to the conference.

Previously we used a standard webcam to stream the conference but it wasn’t as professional as it should have been. There were many times where the camera wasn’t perfectly setup so we were out of frame during our speaking.

I figured it was time to purchase a camera for our conference to be able to actually track us, zoom, and have better video quality.

The zoom on this camera was impressive even when we needed to have the camera placed farther away from the stage area. The auto tracking also does a good job at tracking us on stage which prevents the issue we had prior of us being out of frame. It was fairly straightforward for our IT guy to connect and setup as well.

Its build quality is sturdy and the connectivity works well. It’s much more affordable than other options we looked at, so we’ve been impressed with the value for money.

Pans produce ghosting. Excellent focus range. Compact, dense unit; mostly metal housing.

Comes with a nice fitting silicone lens cover. The barrel is an unusual rounded square so don't lose that special cover. The lens cover doesn't block camera movement so it is safe to leave on.

The image this produces is only OK. It suffers from ghosting when panning, and the same is noticeable for large movements in the frame. The sensor is a bit noisy in low light. Even dark areas get some twinkling pixels sometimes. The lens' 78° viewing angle checks out.

I was impressed by the short range focus. It will focus about 2 feet away at full zoom, and as close as 1 foot when zoomed out.

There is a constant buzz up close, but it has no mics to pick up that noise. Motor movement is silent. Zoom has some rumbles and tiny squeaks. All of these are quite enough to be ignored more than a few feet away.

I used the PTZ with one of Tenveo's keyboard controllers, and it worked fine as a serial PTZ device. This camera is version 1.0.1.7 so it doesn't have the AI and path remembering features that some of their controllers support (needs 1.2.x).

It supports all resolutions on the various video codecs. YUV422, YUV420, and MJPEG worked fine on Linux (OBS and ffmpeg). I had trouble with H.264. HEVC (H.265) was listed in v4l2 output, but unsupported.

On windows I didn't see any evidence of HEVC output. The other 4 worked without issue in OBS.

Supported resolutions were: 1920x1080 1600x986 1280x720 1024x768 1024x576 960x540 800x600 720x576 640x480 640x360 320x240. Different aspect ratios appear get cropped (only tested comparing 1920x1080 and 640x480).

It takes about 11 seconds to resume from standby. Image output gets enabled before the PTZ has completed initialization so you get some zooming.

Typical power draw was around 4.2W. I think I saw 9W briefly when starting up.

I like that they moved to USB C (and it has a nut for locking the cable on). The cable provided is normal USB A to USB C (locking), and just over 3 meters long (9.9 ft).

It weighs 1.3kg (2.86lb). Somewhere between my other two units (1.1 and 1.37kg). This unit is more compact, has a single camera support arm, but the base and camera housing are metal.

The circuit board inside has 3 IR receivers. They are hidden behind the beveled edge of the black plastic base. Should have good control with the remote except maybe on the cable side.

Camera ok Tech support needs improvement

Overall happy with the camera. However I have been trying to get into contact with the manufacturer to resolve an audio issue I can’t seem to figure out. I have emailed them several times and no response.

Great PTZ features, but the video quality feels dated

I picked this camera up for video conferencing and testing in a small office environment, and it definitely has some strengths. The PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) functionality is extremely versatile and makes it much more useful than a standard fixed webcam. It is VERY nicely boxed up and can be connected via USB and controlled by a video confrence setup with RS485/RS232. You can feed the camera to a dedicated monitor via HDMI as well. The onscreen menu with the remote is very limited on the settings available.

Being able to remotely adjust the camera position allows you to easily frame individuals, conference tables, whiteboards, or different parts of a room without physically touching the camera. For video meetings, conference rooms, classrooms, churches, and small businesses, this flexibility is a huge advantage.

The camera controls are responsive, and the PTZ functionality worked exactly as expected. It would be a great fit for conference rooms where multiple people need to be visible during meetings.

However, the biggest drawback is the actual video quality. While the camera is rated for 1080p60, the image quality simply doesn't compare well to modern 4K cameras. The picture appears noticeably softer and blurrier than what I've come to expect from today's video equipment.

Fine details are often lost, and faces don't appear as sharp as they do on newer higher-resolution cameras. If you've been using modern 4K webcams or conference cameras, the difference is immediately noticeable.

The frame rate is smooth, but image clarity is where the camera falls short. For basic meetings it's perfectly usable, but I wouldn't recommend it if image quality is your top priority.

Overall, the PTZ capabilities are excellent and make this a versatile camera for conferencing and small business applications. Unfortunately, the 1080p image quality feels dated and noticeably less sharp than modern 4K alternatives, which keeps this from being a higher-rated product.

Good PTZ camera, but missing audio input

I bought this Tenveo 11X PTZ camera for live streaming and conference-style use. Overall, the camera body feels well built, and the feature set is in line with other imported PTZ cameras I have used for livestreams, meetings, and church/conference setups.

The package includes the camera, wall mount, power supply, USB cable, remote, manual, lens cap, and mounting hardware. The back of the camera has DC power, RS485, RS232, USB-C, and HDMI connections, which gives you a good amount of flexibility. I like that it has both HDMI output and USB-C video output, since that makes it easier to use with either a capture/production setup or a more basic computer-based streaming setup.

The PTZ design, remote control, and optical zoom are the main reasons to buy something like this over a normal webcam. For the price, it gives you a more professional setup without jumping into much more expensive broadcast gear.

The big downside for me is audio. There is no audio input on the camera, and the listing also notes that it does not have a built-in mic. That means you need to bring audio in from a separate source and sync it with the video in your mixer, encoder, computer, or streaming software. That is not a big problem if you already know what you are doing, but it could trip up someone just getting into livestreaming.

Overall, this is a good PTZ camera for the money. I just wish it had a simple audio input, because that would make it easier for basic livestream setups.

Still an easy 4/5 stars. Would be 5 stars if it had an audio input.

A Professional-Grade Camera Upgrade for Webcam Users

This is an outstanding PTZ camera that produces far better picture quality at FHD than some very popular 4K webcams that I've seen! Most webcams use digital zooming as an inexpensive solution that always ends up hurting picture quality. This Tenveo conference camera has an 11x optical zoom that gives a sharp picture regardless of how close-up you get with the zoom! So you never have to be afraid of zooming with this camera! This is great for conference rooms because you can keep the camera out of the way, where it's not going to be a visible distraction for people who might be self-conscious about seeing a live camera!

The camera was easy to set-up on my Windows PC, and only need a simple connection to a USB 3.0 port to work! There weren't any dedicated utilities or drivers that needed to be installed for my video apps to see it! There's also an HDMI output if you want to feed it to a monitor or a dedicated encoder! The video looked really good out-of-box, but a lot of manual adjustments can be made using the included remote!

Panning and zooming of the camera can be done using the remote control. The encoder in this camera is quite strong so panning and zooming looks very smooth and skip free! The only downside to the remote is that it doesn't use radio control, so the remote needs good visibility to the camera to ensure that the physical camera movement isn't interrupted. The camera also has connections for RS-232 and RS-485, so if professional-looking pan and zoom movement is an important part of your live stream, then I would definitely recommend considering Tenveo's PTZ keyboard controllers or other compatible controllers for best results!

I also really like the appearance of the camera, since it will blend nicely into any professional setting and won’t look like something from a streamer's bedroom! The camera has a very premium feel to it and not something cheap and plasticky! It compares a lot to the looks of high-end PTZ cameras, so that's always a nice plus for business environments! Included in the box is a USB-C to USB-A cable with locking screw for the camera, and a mounting bracket if you want to permanently install the camera in a room!

This is a fantastic PTZ camera that I highly recommend if you are looking to improve the quality of your webcam streams! Therefore I rate this product 5 out of 5 stars!

Professional Quality for Everyday Connections - Smart Tracking, Smooth Streaming

I picked up the Tenveo 11X Optical Zoom PTZ Camera to make video calls with my elderly parents across the country, and it’s been a genuinely impressive upgrade to our setup. The standout feature is absolutely the 11X optical zoom - it stays sharp, smooth, and surprisingly stable even when zooming across the room. The 1080p/60FPS resolution looks clean and crisp on every call, and the camera’s ability to track people as they move has been a pleasant surprise. It keeps everyone in frame without feeling jumpy or distracting.

Setup was simple, and the included software works fine, though the manual camera controls could be a bit more intuitive. There are a lot of preset options available; I haven’t used them much yet, but I plan to experiment more as I get comfortable with the system.

One important reminder: this camera does not include a built‑in microphone. It’s clearly stated, but worth repeating so no one overlooks it. Pairing it with a good external mic solves that easily.

Overall, for the build quality, zoom performance, and image clarity, this camera offers strong value. I don’t have any major complaints - just a few usability tweaks that could make it even better. For video calls, streaming, or meetings, it’s been a solid addition to my setup.

Professional quality PTZ camera with a modern looking and compact design.

The Tenveo 11X optical zoom PTZ camera is an excellent choice for live streaming, business conferencing, and professional events. It delivers high-quality 1080P FHD video at 60FPS through both USB 3.0 and HDMI outputs. The PTZ movement is exceptionally smooth, featuring adjustable speed controls for precision. Design-wise, the camera balances a large, capable lens with a surprisingly compact, professional-looking base that fits well on conference tables without occupying excessive space. Its overall aesthetic and functionality are reminiscent of the equipment typically used for house of worship broadcasts. While it offers serial PTZ control, note that this functionality requires a separate dedicated controller. The package is well-rounded, including a wall mount and a secure, locking USB-C to USB-A cable.

9 presets available!

I acquired this PTZ camera through Vine. I was interested in the product as a means of recording workouts.

I've used my phone on a tripod, but that takes up floor space and renders my phone useless otherwise.

This camera can be mounted to the ceiling, taking up zero floor space.

Then, because it has 9 presets, I can position and zoom in to 9 different stations/locations within my home gym to capture various exercises without repositioning anything... just by pushing a couple buttons on the remote.

Yes, I then have to connect a laptop to the camera, but I'm able to arrange things well within my space.

The camera does not have a microphone. I use a lavalier mic with the receiver connected to the same laptop. I am able to capture the video from the camera and audio from my mic. It works.

Fantastic webcam for the money

You can't beat the functionality this webcam brings for $200. While it does not have any type of onboard AI that detects faces and zooms in on whomever is speaking, it makes up for that in picture quality and ease of using the remote's preprogrammed positions - this allows you to quickly rotate/zoom to a specific spot in the room with a couple of button clicks on the remote. On the downside, using the remote to manually move the camera in real-time is really annoying, so you will need t make use of the preprogrammed positions if you have multiple people on your end. It also does not include a microphone - which is not that bad given that conference settings usually have a separate audio solution.

Wonderful choice for a streaming PTZ camera

We use two NV3U cameras and one NV20U to stream our church services. These cameras use USB for video. Our church is quite large so we used active usb cables for the long 90’ run back to the streaming PC. The cameras are also controlled using RS485 and the Tenveo keyboard. Easy setup. Our floor camera, shown, is mounted on a 5’ heavy mic stand with a leveller underneath.

Very easy to use. Well made and reliable. Affordable. High quality video. These were such a great choice. Highly recommended.
