Poor binding.
This book came falling apart and ripped. I put in for a return and they’re giving me 24 hours max for the return. I wouldn’t buy this again. The Word of God has its power in other bibles as well.

This Bible is a fantastic Bible, except when I got it, it was upside down. The cover was put on backwards, so when you open it, the writing is all upside down…… I give this company zero stars

Translation is great for young child who is learning to read independently to be able to understand Scripture better. While a littler wordier at times than “adult” translations, I assume that is because it is necessary to fully clarify the meaning of the text. Soft leather cover is beautiful and the full color pictures are nice. Though I wish the photos were interspersed differently. They are evenly dispersed in group of 6 pictures but the pictures are often not near the story. For example, NT pictures of Gabriel visiting Mary, Jesus’s birth, Jesus’s baptism, feeding the 5K are all found in the prophets.
Another con is there is ghosting in the print for many pages in Genesis which make it VERY hard to read. I did my best to capture it in camera (though it definitely looks worse in person). Quality control should be improved to make sure misprints aren’t being shipped.
Thirdly, while there are book introductions, they are very sparse in information and not colorful or eye catching at all to draw a child in. While I think this translation is great for helping children understand God’s Word, I think the presentation of the text could be improved by adding some more color, organizing the pictures better, and making sure quality of printing is checked before selling the Bibles.

Nice book but mine came with a defect. One of the pages came folded in and although it can unfold, it throws it off because then that page becomes longer and sticks out from the rest. Does not look good

The print is not too small which i LOVE. It has pictures and its so rare to find an ICB bible i rrally like this one.

Only the book introductions are in 10-point font, but everything else is 9-point font, as has been the case with previous releases of the ICB. I will be returning this item. I was looking forward to buying a release of the ICB that actually has the complete ICB in 10-point font. I remember straining my eyes in elementary grade school trying to use the ICB in grade school, but I always understood it; hence, why I was eager to buy one with a larger font size as a young adult for my personal long Bible reading sessions but it's to small to use for even a moderate spans of time without hurting the eyes because of the small size (Avoid Bibles with fonts like thse or stoping use one in favor of replacement ASAP if you are because they can seriously damage your eyes over time (Bible-markers should stop making Bibles with font sizes less than 10-point font in any font stlye). Other than the font size presenting a very bad usability issue (even if it's organized and spaced well in the comfort font (it's definitely not sized well in comfort font)), it's excellent quality and nothing else about the Bible is making me return it. With that said, I would prefer they add back the Ten Commandments, Psalm 23, and the Lord’s Prayer, each with its separate section at the beginning, as with previous releases of the ICB, along with the new resources and features they have included. I did not find the introductions to be secular or ridiculous in any other way, which is good. The Old Testament book introductions agree with the writers of the New Testament, the Apostles, as to who wrote what books of the Old Testament. I would prefer the words “the Apostle(s) say ‘X’ wrote it” where applicable be said instead of “most people think ‘X’ wrote it” which is the typical phrasing of this release. The Introduction to Hebrews did say we don’t know who the author of the Hebrews is, which is technically true, even though in my opinion as a Protestant, it's Paul, but I’m sure any Catholic would be just as confident it was Peter, but any case (it doesn’t suggest an author), I’m not bothered by it. I included some images of the product I purchased. I included text from an early edition of the ICB from 1997 that I have, so that I can show the font size is the same 9-point font (though the text formatting on the newer is better). I'm also including in my images of the ICB that I have a study Bible that I have with 10-point font, though the comparison is not exactly accurate because the font of my study Bible is a different type of font (though they may be similar looking). You can tell which one is the ICB from 1997 because it will be the Bible that has the most similar wording to the current ICB. The text of my study Bible is a lot different from either in terms of wording, and my study Bible will be the only one with red chapter markers at the top of the page.

I love this translation for the youngest reader who is ready to move past storybook Bibles. It still has beautiful illustrations throughout, but it is actual scripture, not stories. My youngest wanted to have her own Bible and this one is perfect. I also love the soft cover. This is also a great translation for people who are not native English speakers because of the simplicity of the translation.

WHY would a children’s Bible translate Psalm 106:40 to this
ICB: “So the Lord became angry with his people. He hated his own children.”
Hate IS NOT the same as detested, rejected, or was abhorrent to, abhorred, etc (other translations).
Absolutely disappointing that this is supposed to be simple for children to understand and my niece is questioning why God hates us too.

I bought this book for my son for Easter so the Easter Bunny got it for him and his Easter basket. He loves the colors of this book that has lots of pages to read and it has pictures and it too The pictures are very pretty and colorful I will show them to you and it actually has the stories in them and it's amazing and it has a hard cover on it and I will show it to you but I would not buy it for a young child younger than five.

This Bible is amazing! Super easy for kids to read and understand. The only defect was the packaging. It came ripped.

Received the Bible with a huge tear in it. Very disappointed. This was my daughter’s very first Bible and she was so excited to get this. Will be returning.

Just as the seller described it.

It’s the Perfect Bible for Kids! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I purchased this leather soft Bible for my daughter, and I am beyond impressed with the quality and thoughtfulness flowing through this Bible. The International Children’s Bible translation is easy for her to read and understand, making it perfect for young readers who are starting their journey with God.
The Leathersoft cover is not only durable but also beautifully designed. My daughter loves the vibrant purple color, and the texture makes it feel specially made just for her! Like an adult Bible but tailored for kids. The font is the perfect size for children, and the language is simplified without losing the depth of Scripture.
What I love most is how it encourages her to dive into God’s Word on her own. It’s engaging, approachable, and has already sparked many conversations about faith. It’s always by her side! I would highly recommend this Bible to any parent or guardian looking for a meaningful and age-appropriate way to introduce the Bible to their child. It’s a wonderful, affordable investment in their spiritual growth!

I'm embarrassed that it took me so long to notice, but I bought this for my daughter's birthday in June, and as we were reading it together today (12/30/2024) I realized to my dismay that it is missing a huge chunk of the new testament. As you can see in the picture, it stops halfway through 1 Corinthians and starts back up at the very end of 2 Timothy. So almost all the Epistles are missing. It's a shame because everything else about the translation, print, setup etc are wonderful... She loves the pictures and the feel... But this makes it an unusable Bible! I'm past the return window of course, but if someone with the company reads this I would love a correct version sent to me.
Thanks.

My son loves this version. But the Bible he was using was small and the words were to close together. He constantly lost his place. This new Bible is amazing. The lines have more spacing and the Words are bigger. For someone learning to read, it’s easier to use this Bible.

I got this from my daughter for her first holy communion and she was so happy about it. She already has a baby one from when she was a little kid, but she loves this new one.

This Bible is great for children or adults. I teach, and this is perfect for breaking things down, making it plain. Great for people with disabilities like dyslexia, or who may be autistic. The ICB is a great translation.

This Bible is my grandson’s first big boy Bible! We draw a Bible scripture card at random then he looks up the page number and finds the book and scripture to highlight! He’s loving it!

The color is beautiful just as my daughter wanted it, it is a good way to bring our children closer to the reality of this world but the teaching is according to their ages, the quality is too good , we definitely love it!!
El color es hermoso tal y como mi hija la quería , es una buena manera de acercar a nuestros hijos a la realidad de este mundo pero la enseñanza es de acuerdo a sus edades , la calidad es demasiado buena, definitivamente la amamos !!

I bought this Bible (directly from Book Outlet USA) for my 8 year old daughter. She's a pretty advanced reader. I bought that Bible specifically because it's a CHILDREN's version. I have included a photo of a page of that Bible; see for yourself. That's a kids' version?? Really?? Other than the colorful cover and a few illustrations here and there, nothing in that version is intended for children. So much for an International Children's Bible.
