I knock one star because it's not loud enough. Other wise it's fantastic. This is my baby milk bottle for myself to take it with me everywhere I go. Or is a baby pacifier lol. Reason I say is I take it with me everywhere I GO. I am a street vendor and this is handy when I'm bored and want to know what's going on at my area. :)

Mine arrived with the protective screen half ripped off and the screen scuffed and scratched. Clearly a return, and it even had somebody else's programming on it. I had to use goo gone to get the sticky residue from the half remaining screen protector off.
Was a little disappointed. The reason I didn't return it was hassle, honestly, and you can't see the screen damage easily when it's turned on. eh that sucks, but it works okay electrically.

For cheap price one of my favorite gmrs radios works so great. A couple years ago bought a different brand name and driving around with them static after static after static my FRS radios didn't even do that. Picked up TIDRADIO TD-H3 oh my gosh I can drive everywhere no static beautiful. Only thing I wish they would do with the radios to allow and receive NOAA emergency alerts. Instead of having to manually pick the frequency Channel and listen to it. Besides that loving this radio

This is a cool radio! I wanted to try out the Bluetooth programming. What an awesome feature. The app actually finds repeaters in the area that you can program. I like the clear case. It sounds great, and feels solid.

Battery melted the first time charging.

I have bought 4 TID H3s. One (crystal/clear) produces no power output to my surecom. (See video) I contacted support and they asked for a video. That was over a week ago. I asked for an update and they are not responsive.
The radios are amazing when they work. I’ve been buying them for friends and family for Hurricanes. Just make sure you check their power output before giving them out!
H3 is far superior to the baofeng UV5R and similar in this price range.

These are pretty great radios. The menus are familiar to those who are used to Baofengs, but with a better color screen. The reception is great for the price. The firmware can be unlocked to transmit on any frequency, but proceed with caution. The housing of all of the colors of radios are very solid. The only thing I have seen in reviews is that the belt clip being attached to the battery is a weak point.
I haven't seen anyone else comment on the fact that based on the size and shape of the battery pack, that I think it contains (2) 18650 lithium-ion cells which are metal cased cells. I see this as a significant advantage over most radios that use lithium-polymer pouch cells as they tend to puff and fail much more quickly, especially when exposed to temperature extremes. I have seen some comments that some users have had bad batteries out of the box, but thats to be expected in any manufacturing, especially at the price point that this radio meets.
I have uploaded a custom firmware and it has improved the layout of the screen as well as providing a useful received signal meter. Just look up Nicsure H3 on YouTube and Facebook for installation guides and the firmware itself.
Of the 7 I have had in my hands, 1 had an issue with transmitting on VHF.
For those looking to use the radio on GMRS frequencies, this radio has an FCC ID that is different from the GMRS version of the radio, but the unlock methods and custom firmware still apply.

I love this little radio but for some reason the clips keep ripping off the battery. this is the 3rd battery it's happened to. if it weren't for that issue I'd rate it 5 stars

I got my first ham radio less than two weeks ago and the learning was steep. That experience made it an easier go with this one. It's a good little radio, and I do mean little—you can see how compact it is in the photo with a pen next to it for comparison. It may be small, but it's not short of features. I don't know half of what it does. I got it to be able to listen to local police, fire, and other government transmissions. It works great!
I used CHIRP to program it (free software). That's how I learned to program my first ham radio. It worked great. I was even able to use the CSV file for this one that I already had made for the other one, so programming it only took a couple minutes at most. The display is easy to read because the text is bright on a dark screen. It's actually easier to read than it is on my other ham radio, even thought the screen is just a bit smaller.
The radio feels really solid and well made. The reception is good, about the same as the other radio. It has a fairly detailed manual, although the print is too small for me. I downloaded a PDF manual to have bigger print. What makes this such a good value, besides being a good budget radio, is you get three of everything: 3 radios, 3 batteries, 3 antennas, 3 earphones, 3 belt clips, 3 lanyards, and 3 charging cables. The charging cable can be used to program the radio. I had to order a special cable for my other ham radio.
If that isn't enough, it also has 199 programmable channels, has an FM radio, has an LED flashlight, functions as a walkie talkie and more. My only complaints are with the manual. The print is tiny, and like it was with my other radio, there's a lot of jargon that isn't explained well so if you've never used a ham radio before you can expect a learning curve. Other than that, it's a dandy! I wish I would have gotten into ham radios long ago.

Got this radio for merely the looks since I already have about a dozen other TIDRadio H8 and H3. Plus there's already hundreds reviews of this radio already. So let's get down to brass tacks.
This is a GMRS only HT. Meaning it's part accept to use on GMRS frequency and is locked to GMRS only frequency. But if you search the net, you can easily find a way to switch the HT from ham, GMRS, and open (with the radio off, hold down the PTT button while press and hold the * button and then turn the radio on)
There are several ways of programming the radio. One way is via Bluetooth and downloading the OD Master from the app store, using a Kenwood K1 type data cable that works on many other Chinese radios. Or using a quality USB Type-C data cable and simply plug it in to your laptop/computer and the USB Type-C port found under the mic rubber flap (opposite side of the PTT button) and lastly you can totally program the HT radio via wirelessly if you already have another H3 radio.
How to program the radio via wirelessly.
- donor radio (with the radio off, hold down the SK1 button while holding down the * button on the keypad then turn the radio on.
-recipient radio (follow the above instructions for the donor radio)
Once both radio is in the wireless copy mode. On the donor radio, push the SK1 button (very bottom button below the ex PTT button)
I attached a video on what it should look like if done correctly.
For the price, TIDRadio really knocked it out the ball park with the H3. Though it's only 5watts compared to it's bigger brother the H8. This HT is packed with features and is my go to everyday radio.
I highly recommend this HT over any Baofeng out there. Also if you really want this HT to shine. Get a quality antenna for it like that from Diamond or a Comet.
Lastly double check the HT firmware as TIDRadio recently posted a firmware update on this radio on their homepage.

TIDRadio H3 packs all the great features found in the TD-H8 but in a much smaller form factor and even more options! The H3 feels very comfortable in the hands. It’s small enough to easily carry on your person without feeling the bulk like that of a larger radio and still offering 5 watts of output power. The features that are packed in this radio makes this a top choice for today’s affordable handheld radios. With three ways to program this radio, you’ll always be ready to keyup. You can program this radio through its built-in bluetooth, connecting it with your phone and using the ODmaster app. You can also use the USB-C port plugging into a computer and use CHIRP if you prefer and can also use a standard K1 programming cable. TIDRadio has the ease of use down. The radio is well constructed and the green color is a nice welcomed change to the standard black radios we’ve seen for many many years. The audio quality is nice and loud when need be and reported back to be a nice clear audio. You can’t go wrong with this H3 handheld! If you’re looking to add another radio to your collection or looking for your first, I recommend giving the TIDRadio H3 a go!!

This is a decent radio for the price. Audio quality is good, as is range. The buttons and screen are a lot smaller than other brands I have used and why that’s not a problem, it’s definitely a change.
This radio has two push to talk buttons one for each VFO.
Overall it’s a fairly simple radio to operate and once you get a handle on the menu system there are some definite upsides.
