Scratches (?) but inside

I love the idea but the execution isn't really worth the price. The board is a good size for small daily use/refresh. I actually like that it's smaller bc you can't overwhelm yourself writing down too many things. It could maybe be like 2" taller, going for the golden ratio rectangle instead of a to square shape. I like the rounded aesthetics. The little holders in the back are smart. The clock goes in and comes out easily (could be a negative for some people). You do need the silicone sleeve for the clock to fit it will not fit "naked "

I truly do NEED the timer attached to the board. I know that's like... Do you? Do you really? I do. I do really. For me, having it integrated DOES make a difference as opposed to having 2 separate pieces. Maybe it's the streamline of the visual clutter, it focuses my attention on the actual notes on the board.

My main issues are:

Price for what you get

The board scratches easily but the scratches appear to be under the laminate somehow, because I can't feel them and they don't affect the writing. Maybe they're more like cracks on the underside. It's weird, I've never seen this before in a whiteboard. Basically it never looks clean and always looks a bit beat up and I've had it about 4 months.

The timer is so useful. I'm an ADHD adult. Like others, I do wish it would continue beeping (maybe every 15 seconds, like a microwave) until you reset it. Otherwise it's very easy to miss the alarm timer going off. I would also LOVE LOVE LOVE a visual color for "time past". Blue helps count down to the time, maybe red or gray can show how long past the timer you went. That would be super helpful because I'm a "one more thing-itis" person and before I know it I'm WAY behind schedule because I couldn't stop when I was supposed to.

So basically: if it counted down the hour, and then looped around or went back the other way for another hour, that would be TRULY amazing. Or if it kept beeping at you after you hit your time, maybe it could beep upwards "1..... 2...." And then you hear "18" and you're like OH NO!!!

But really there should be a button to extend the alarm at a minimum.

There's only one volume setting. I find it to be just right but I'm never more than 10-20ft from it when it goes off.

30s with ADHD- Yes the whiteboard helps

I already had a time timer. But did I need to buy another that has a specific whiteboard?

Yes.

I find that this helps me put concrete attainable tasks together, especially when trying to do chores or during work with larger tasks.

The front is also lightly magnetic and holds up my markers with magnets -helpful for checking stuff off quickly without fumbling for the back container.

A bit pricey but honestly effective so it was a worthwhile purchase in the end.

Best purchase of the year!

I have been using TimeTimer timers in my classroom for years, but I finally invested in one for myself after finally receiving an ADHD diagnosis.

Currently, I have been working on my research project for Grad School and have been struggling to focus on simple tasks.

The night I unboxed my Mod timer with dry erase board, it was the most productive homework night I had had in six months. The timer was only set for 20 minutes and in 13 minutes, I completed homework I had put off for months!

The ability to visualize my list while also holding myself accountable with the visual timer has been a total game changer!

Thank you, TimeTimer!!

Should have come with batteries

It’s hard to give this product five stars when you open it up and can’t use it right away until you track down batteries. In hindsight, there was a disclaimer that batteries were not included, but it still doesn’t help when trying to use it at school and not having access. Besides that, it is very nice and great for educational use or for playing games where you need a white board and timer.

Great product, just lacks a an instruction sheet which would have been helpful.

This review is for: TIME TIMER MOD with Dry Erase Board — 60-Minute Visual Countdown Timer with Magnetic Whiteboard — for Notes, Chores, Classroom and Office Reminders, Visual Schedules, for Kids and Adults (Orange)

I was so excited to try this out. It’s for me, not a child. I took it out of the box and had no idea how to work it. I turned the dial, and nothing happened. There are no instructions anywhere. It’s just the unit in a box and that’s it.

One reviewer said you had to disassemble the unit by taking out all of the screws in order to access the timer to put a battery in it. That’s craziness. I kept researching and found out from another reviewer that you can Just pop the timer out the front of the whiteboard. That may seem logical, but only after you hear about it. When you’re looking at it, it’s not your first thought. So I’m thankful to that reviewer, and a bit annoyed that it took time and research to figure out how to use this instead of a simple instruction sheet which should have been included.

After all of that, I am pleased with it. I mostly use the timer separate from the whiteboard.

Take a look at my video if you want a closer look. I hope it’s helpful.

Really cute

I like it. It is magnetic as well. I will say the timer thing, I haven't figured out and there were no instructions. It's also screwed in and apparently takes batteries.. but I don't feel like unscrewing it just to put some batteries in. I didn't get it for the timer though, so I wasn't too worried about it.. I imagine it would still be a pain for someone using the timer to have to unscrew everytime they need to put new batteries in.

Nice for Productivity!

I have a whiteboard already however when I saw this one with the timer and the size of it I knew I had to have it.

I need time management. I think my biggest worry was I was going to have to take the screws out to put batteries in. Let’s just say that was an afterthought when I received it.

However, a commenter relieved my mind. When I saw him have his out. Relief. The 60-minute visual timer with the magnetic whiteboard will help me with productivity even with chores and cooking.

It is very easy to use. At the end of the timer, it rings to alert you it is over. I know I will be using this countdown clock almost daily. The best part there is no ticking to mess up my concentration.

Great for distracted kids!

I’m constantly after my kids to get ready EVERY morning, yet it gets down to the wire and they never are. I go through the same list of tasks, one by one. I feel like they need to be followed around with a pointy stick to get anything done. Telling them a specific time doesn’t seem to matter as they both lack time-management skills. I understand a lot of the blame falls back on me as I could/should have done things differently a lot sooner.

I love the idea of this timer and whiteboard combo. They’re both visual learners, so being able to watch the timer go down with each task has been helpful. Combine that with the checklist, it’s giving them a better grasp of how long they have left. I won’t kid you and say it worked perfectly right off the bat, but there has been a definite improvement so far. It was just a matter of getting used to looking at it. *Also, I just start printing out common checklists so I don’t have to keep rewriting them. I love that this is magnetic, so I’ll stick it on the board with a magnet and they can put a check mark on the whiteboard next to each task.

To get started, the timer pops out through the front opening on the board. It requires one AA battery, which is not included. There are convenient pockets located in the back for dry erase markers, also not included. I initially thought I’d grabbed a used battery because I couldn’t hear any ticking, but then I could see the timer slowly move. There actually is a faint sound if you listen really close, but it’s very quiet. I thought the board might be a little awkward to write on, however, it’s not too bad since the timer sits relatively flush. I really wish this had the option to go off at a certain interval, like a 5 or 10 minute warning. It’s also not very loud. It goes off once and that’s it. While I feel there’s room for improvements, I do see us getting use out of this. It’s definitely a handy tool if you aren’t far from it.

Great visual aid for discipline and routine

Ordered this for my adult daughter who is on the spectrum and has been struggling to stay on task with the mundane everyday chores since moving out on her own. She was excited to start using this tool and said it was an upgrade from her regular white dry erase board.

At first I worried that the element of time and the timer would cause her anxiety but she said she needed that tool to motivate her.

Works great. There’s no ticking for the seconds just the visual cue. There is an optional beeping alarm at the end of the set timer. Also some spots to hold pencil or markers. Board is nice and shiny. Erases easily with no ghost marks.

Be True To You

Well made and a MUST for anyone with ADHD

So I’ve always used eraser boards to list the items I need to work on and check them off as I go. But in addition to that I also need to time my tasks so I don’t get derailed: it’s a blessing and a curse of having ADHD.

The board is well made - streak free and sold.

The timer is good and removable so you can take it with you everywhere.

The sound is good too. This is GREAT! Thank you!

Wish there were several color schemas as I’m not a fan of the orange and doesn’t fit well with my desk space.

Doesn’t come with marker - you’ll need to get your own.

Customer Review

Great for my needs, 'alarm' could be a little louder and longer.

Straight forward product here.

The whiteboard aspect of it is smooth and feels like a good quality whiteboard. The timer is nice as well, it is easy to set and the visual display is pleasing as well. The 'alarm/timer' can be removed from the whiteboard. It takes a single AA battery. There are two settings for the alarm, on and off.

There are two small spaces/cups on the back of the whiteboard to hold wet/dry-erase markers and to keep things close by.

Only four beeps come from the alarm when it sounds, and it is not excessively loud. If you are in a different room than the alarm/timer you may not hear it go off and with it only beeping four times, there is a chance one will miss the end of the time set.

This has been a really nice tool for 'short' focused effort on a task.

Moght be the best thing ive ever got off

I have major ADD and as an adult who is just now figuring out how to manage my life, this timer is a game changer. Visual queues are super helpful for many types of people, but in my case not having to check my phone very 10 min when on a task because thats how my brain is is great. Now i can set the timer walk away and if i need to check i just peek and its right in front of me!

The whiteboard is great too. I put it in my kitchen which is where i write my to do list every day. So now i use this when i have a specific task i need to break down. I will write out what the task is on the white board and break it into manageable steps. The timer lets me stay on task and remind myself to take breaks.

Game changer. The clock pops in an out of the whoteboard well and overall the design is so smart and thought out. The clock is nicely weighted and feels like something thatll last.

I only wish they included a black dry erase marker!

Cute and effective tool

I honestly wasn’t expecting this tool to be so sturdy! The colored part of the clock is like silicone so it is easy to grip and stays in place in the slot. The white board wipes clean with dry erase, and I was surprised to find out it magnetic, too! The storage in the back for pens is fantastic (room for at least 4, depending on the ones you use). I’m a huge fan of time blocking and time boxing - this makes it super easy to stay on track with each task. AND I can use it to help my kids do their chores! Would highly recommend!

AA battery not included.

Well Made!

The timer just pops out of the square insert, you do not have to remove any screws in order to insert the battery.

1 AA battery is needed.

The clock is quiet, you only hear the “Times Up” alarm. Would be perfect to use for school work, reading timer, as it is not distracting at all!

Love the visual time that you can watch disappear.

Easy to write on with dry erase markers and easy to wipe the surface clean.

Well made, sturdy product. Nice size, not too bulky or heavy, and won’t take up a ton of room on a counter or desk.

We will use this for time management where chores are concerned, and in the gym!

TimeTimers are the best!

I am a huge fan of TimeTimers and recommend then to all my friends, coworkers, other parents, teachers, really anyone. I currently have two TimeTimer Mods with the dry erase board - one at home and one on my desk at work, and I have the TimeTimer Pro with handle to carry around the house/yard for my preschooler. These are great for anyone who needs help keeping track of time, transitioning from one to task to another, or just remembering tasks in general. They’re especially great for young kids learning about time and routines and anyone (kid or adult) who’s neurodiverse (ADHD, autism, etc.) and benefits from visual reminders. I first started using these when I was post-partum and too exhausted to remember everything I needed to do late at night with pumping, washing/sterilizing equipment, etc. Now I use them for everything from getting ready in the morning, getting ready for bed, getting the kids ready for bed, working through a new recipe, remembering to pick up my lunch or prescriptions at desk, warning my son it’s almost time to turn cartoons off and get dressed, etc., etc.

Be aware that it does not come with any dry erase equipment (no markers or eraser), and it requires one AA battery (it does not come with one). The battery operates the timer (obviously), but also an optional alarm that sounds when the timer runs out. Some of the larger TimeTimers (like the pro) have volume control for the alarm, but this version does not.

Also, as you can see in the picture, the timer easily pops out of the dry erase board if you want to carry it around and don’t need the board.

Highly recommend this and all models of TimeTimers!

Love that the kids can see what is going on irl and not some screen or device

Takes one AA battery. It's perfect for my second graders who has nightly timed reading. We normally just have Alexa set a timer. The kids can't see what is really going on that way though. Just this simple timer has really made me feel like we stepped back into reality just a little bit. It's also great for when it's time for everyone to spend the next 15 min cleaning. The kids are much more willing to comply when they can see what is going on. The invisible timer is great but it is confusing for kids I think. I am really happy with this timer

Essential personal productivity tool for creatives!

I’ve tried dozens of virtual productivity timers apps on my computer, watch and phone. Creativity is often helped by having constraints and this physical Time Timer is the first one to help me get stuff done.

Recently I read the book Sprint by Jake Knapp for work which introduced me to Time Timers. The author included a bit of the inventor’s story and it really spoke to me. When I found the Time Timer MOD and Whiteboard, I was excited to give it a try and see if it would help me accomplish more work.

For the record, I’ve never been diagnosed as having ADHD or an autism spectrum disorder. I’m just a normal guy who lives in a distraction-filled world. The Time Timer was effective because it helped me keep work in focus and not turn to distracting alternatives like my phone or app on my computer besides the work on deck. The Time Timer is removable from the whiteboard so I can take it to meetings.

Using the Time Timer is incredibly easy. Just turn the dial counter-clockwise to your desired timer length. The optional alarm is really nice. I found it helpful, but was glad I could turn it off. It beeps about 2 times more than I wish it did, but if the clock is outside your view and you need a reminder it’s essential. Because it's loud, I ended up leaving it off more than not since I mostly use it at work by myself.

I do like the orange color of this edition. It has an orange timer dial, orange hard case, orange silicon case and an orange timer background. Other editions are mostly white with a red timer background. Orange is one of my favorite colors so it worked well for me but I also like that the Time Timer is removable from its silicon case. I also got a tie-dye skin (sold separately) I liked a lot to swap it out with.

The Time Timer itself is and easy 5 out of 5 for me!

This set also helped me solve a problem I had at my desk. I wanted a whiteboard but didn’t want it on the wall. I wanted it at my desk where I can reach it while sitting. This is the perfect size for a desk, with a super handy storage area in the back. I use it to set a goal for my time and then when I glance back at the time, I recenter myself on my goal. It’s surprisingly effective and helps me commit to time blocks. The whiteboard is very light though, so I do have to hold it while I write on it. There is room for multiple markers, but no room for markers. The magnet also worked well enough. I have a lamp with a magnetic remote, so I used that to test, but now that I have a place to put magnets I might use it, but I also might not given it's so small. By far the best feature of the whiteboard is the slot for the Time Timer.

I give the whiteboard by itself a 4 out of 5.

Together, the set is still a 5 out of 5 for me, because it's compact size and essential utility. I absolutely recommend this set for creatives and people wanting to up their productivity.

Nice visual timer

This works great for helping kids keep track of how much time they have left to complete a task. I do like that it comes with a magnetic white board with dry erase marker storage in the back. I also really like that the timer itself can pop out of the board to save space on top of kids' desks.

Toddler assistance

I use this for my toddler. Turn the knob for the timer you need and my little one has a visual by seeing the the red. Helps with chors, activities, playtime even timeout. The timer alarm is just right not to loud not soft. Little storage compartment I’m in the back for your markers. Does not come with a marker

Nice timer. Wish the whiteboard was slightly bigger.

The red/visual part of the timer is great. It’s a cute small square. The surface is magnetized.

It’s nice for a small desk or for a table top that has limited space. You need one AA battery.

AMAZING for a classroom!

We have been using this in my classroom and I love it! For my students who need a ‘checklist’ it is perfect because it keeps the timer and list together and is less on his desk!

I appreciate the sturdiness and the extra storage!

We will likely order more because it is so helpful!

Keeps the peace

Recently the boys have been fighting over every little thing and I’m always saying you get 5 minutes which then leads to them asking every 10 seconds if it’s been 5 minutes or if it’s their turn yet. I started setting a timer, but they still ask. This timer gives them the visual that they need. They can now see who’s turn is next because of the dry erase board and also see that the time is running out. The dry erase board is magnetic and comes with a little storage caddy on the back for your markers. Also note that you need 1AA battery to get started.

Visible timer!

Having a timer helps me to stay on task. I like this white board so I can remember to stay on track with the task at hand AND I can visibly see how much time I have left. There’s a caddy on the back to store your dry erase marker. It’s a great tool!

Exactly What I Needed! Perfect Size for My Desk Top!

Exactly What I Needed! Perfect Size for My Desk Top!

It works with another “Time Timer” that I have, so I put my colorful, Time Timer In There and gave the black one, that it came with, to my hubby. We have these all over the house, they are very handy.

My husband does not have the best sense of time, and he is visually impaired. It is easier for him to see, than any clock.

I like them because they help me to stay on task. I have some kind of cPTSD that is often triggered by bells. They cause me to scream.. make my heart race…

I love that I have a visual, and have an option to turn the bell Off/ On. I love that they keep that option, easily accessible with the set up.

I also LOVE that it has a place for my Dry Erase Markers, and some gel pens.

The dry erase feature is just what I needed, and is the perfect size for my needs. I also love that it is magnetic, so there are options.

I leave the top part of the board, to mark what I am currently timing/ Medication Reminders. (I use the purple dry erase)

I use Red to List My TOP 3 Priorities for the day(Big Rocks), and green for action steps… (and smaller rocks)

Since I move this to desk to desk (Work Space to Work Space), I do take a photo of it with my phone. The dry erase markers that I use, wipe off easily. I am able to fix it, if that happens. I also find that the photos help me to remember where I left off with tasks, the next day.

This is super helpful and I LOVE IT! I Love The Time Timers, in general.

These should be in every home for so many uses

I'm surprised I hadn't gotten one of these sooner just for in the kitchen like when you're cooking or when you're in the shower you have to hurry. These are great for handwriting test timing. Any sort of tidying up clean for 10 minutes clean for an hour keep you on task great for people with Ada for regular people it's crazy how amazing I've the 1 in 1 of these forever. I can even explain how many uses I can see myself using this for not just for me but for my children my husband and family members and then family members it will be great for games.

Time Timer! Practical for School, Home, Office Use!!!

I am a preschool/PreK teacher. We do small group times during the day, where students have time with me to work on a specific activity or skill. Normally I just have a dry erase board that I have on a picture frame stand that always falls over, which is needless to say really annoying. The timer is across the room, and not where I or the students could see it.

Fast forward to yesterday. I ordered this baby, this Time Timer Mod and Dry Erase Board. TOTAL GAME CHANGER! Group Times are going to be EPIC! So why do I need this? Children follow routines and expectations better when they know what is happening and what will happen next. Children can see at a glance how long our group times are, and I can write out the schedule for what we will be doing, keeping both them, and me(!) on track, and they can learn more about time management and time concepts, such as how long 10 minutes is, or 3 more minutes are left for an activity. (Plus since children learn how to read and write from seeing others practicing it, this will give them a very visual way to see what we will be focusing on, as I model writing, helping to expose them to connecting the words I am writing with the words I am saying.)

It is super portable and doesn’t take up a lot of invaluable teacher group table real-estate, and stands up nicely with the stay sturdy base. (Much better than trying to prop up wipe boards on stands only to have them fall repeatedly distracting my little ones.) This also amazingly has storage for dry erase markers on the back (Brilliant!) I was able to store 8 double-sided dry erase markers in the back. (I did not have any Expo Markers to test it with, but by eyeing it maybe it would also hold 6 to 8 Expo Markers depending on which size markers you have.) Where have you been my whole life?

This is a time-saver too, since I can store markers with the board, and won’t have to search for markers because they always get lost with my current system. Materials will always be ready at my fingertips! (My other boards did not have storage, so they were always getting separated from the boards I jerry-rigged.) I love that I can put my dry erase markers in the divided compartment at the back, and they won’t tip over either, due to the smartly incorporated divider that supports them from falling over. Again, brilliant!

The actual board surface (front) is magnetic, so I can attach some name magnets that I make to show who has group that day, or can use it for attaching my magnetic word wall word cards that I want them to practice finding in books or to write out (for my little ones that are ready for that.) The only thing I wish was that they made it a double sided magnet board, so that I could store the magnets in the back for the student names, but can solve that problem by attaching a clip to the board with a baggie, or make the tags skinny enough so that I can store them in the back in one of the marker compartments. Either way, this is not a deal-breaker for me, since I have already thought of a solution for that!

The Time Timer can be removed from the board easily to install the 1AA battery that is needed to power the timer, and can be easily reinstalled back in the board. There is also a button to engage or disengage the sound feature for students who need to concentrate or children/adults that are sensitive to sound.

I have included photos showing the front of the board, and how it stands sturdily on a really nice angle, and the back of the board which shows the marker compartment on back. (I found some Arteza markers at home to test the marker compartment, and as you can see, the storage also worked with this brand of dry erase markers too. I tested with multiple brands because I felt it important to test it with marker brands that people may already use so you could see that this feature on the back of the board is very useful.)

Overall, I absolutely love the design and practicality of this. This can also be used for families with children who have the nightly homework battle. You can use this with children to show how many minutes they have to do a desired activity, or how many minutes are left before they move onto the next activity. I cannot stress enough how using timers like this can support families and children with learning and understanding time management.

This would be helpful for adults as well to know how long their presentation needs to be or for helping them to stay on task while on zoom (or to let them know how many minutes are left for the next meeting, or the end of the day LOL!) You can also use this to write out meal menus and choices (if that’s an option) to show children how many minutes are left before dinner to prepare those picky eaters. The possibilities are endless with the Time Timer Mod and Dry Erase Board! Hope you get a chance to use and love this as much as I do!
