Amazing device. I used the TC001 for a while, but this one does more. Clear pictures. Excellent thermal readout. You can hook it ro Android, iPhone, or your PC. If used this for automotive repairs, in home repairs, wildlife, etc. It does it all.

The topdon TC002C duo is a fun little device that is easy to set up and use. The software is simple to navigate and there are plenty options to tweak and mess around with. The potential use cases are immense and I am still thinking of useful things to do with it. Its great for spotting animals in the woods and trouble shooting electronics. My wifi keeps dropping and using this helped me narrow down any overheating issues. It is even capable of detecting the full moon!
The downsides are the USB c port is too short and you may have to remove your phone case.
If you use the super resolution feature (TISR) this will hammer your phones GPU and draw extra battery power from your phone.
Im also concerned the price will go up more, its already on the concerning side of affordability.
If you buy one of these I'm sure you will find great use with it!

I was skeptical about a thermal camera for a phone. But damn this thing is amazing. In the video you see a clothes dryer, dog, you can see my footprints from where I was standing and the food I heated in the microwave. Excellent little attachment for a great price.

Extreme DIY
plugs into my USB-C phone easily and gives a usable thermal image for spotting drafts, checking insulation, and finding hot spots on electronics. The app is simple enough to navigate, and for casual DIY use it gets the job done. I had some issues with temps being of by 20 degrees. Also has a ghost image on the screen the entire time. I did return its so not sure if it was a defective unit. Did the reset and contacted support which they actually picked up the phone. App was easy to download and use.

This tc002duo worked perfectly. Very easy to install app, plug into phone, and it was working.
The image better than i expected. I can clearly tell what I'm looking at. The temperature readings are within one degree of any other device I have, so its calibrated. Comes with two adapters. One for older apple plug, and one for using a cable vs direct plug-in to device. This thing has already solved the warped front door mistery. See image with front door hot spot.

I needed to mount some steel plates on a concrete slab which has buried hydronic tubing 2" below the surface. I had photos of the tubing before concrete was poured, but I wanted to be absolutely sure of the locations before I drilled holes. I ran hot water through the system and used the TC002C thermal camera to locate the tubing. The attached photo clearly shows the serpentine tubing. You can also see the steel mounting plate in the proposed location, it has a hole in the center. You can see it centered on the tubing; the mounting holes are on either side. This camera paid for itself in 5 minutes!
The Android app installed easily and the camera came right up. The app is intuitive, it lets you take snapshots and videos. To take more accurate images, you can select the "emittance" of the material. The menu didn't have an entry for concrete, which seems like an oversight. (To save you time: concrete has an emittance of .95-.98 per Gemini prompt. The default of .95 therefore is fine.)

I used it to check wire temperatures in my solar set up. Found out the fuse I was using was over heating. Wouldn't have found out without this. Also shows where I need to insulate the house checking the ceiling for hot spots.

So far this has been extremely helpful. I waited forever for the name brand to get their act together on a USB-C iPhone compatibility. This solution works flawlessly, without delays or difficulty in connecting.
The pictures have helped immensely with finding my weak spots in air sealing a new construction house. Already paid for itself in closing up those energy penalties that would have accrued over the life of the building.
Best of all it’s higher thermal resolution and lower cost than the comparable name brand solution.

I bought this to use with diagnosing circuits for my business as well as try to find any pests and ventilation issues around the house, but it's completely unusable. The first issue was that there was this creeping temperature spike taking over almost half of the screen, as if there was a fire of warmth coming in from the side that never exists. Then I decided to try to calibrate the image. Following it's instructions and those 60seconds, we now have an even more unusable image.

Man this thing works like a champ. Bought it so I can see fluid levels out on my leases that don’t have transmitters for the tanks and it’s kept me out of a bind. Mobil, comes with extra cords so I don’t have to take off my phone cover, and also doesn’t break the bank. It just overall has helped me out in my line of work. Couldn’t be happier. lol! I never write reviews for anything so that’s saying a lot. 10 out of 10 for me.

The screen on the duo seems to get hung up after a few minutes creating a kind of heat haze or cloudy blurred lines across the screen itself. I got two of these and they both do it. Will try the dedicated iOS device and if that doesn’t work maybe go back to flir. Included two photos, one is clear right after you plug it in and the second d with lines is after about a minute of use and it gets worse from there.

For the few that carry their smartphone without a case I suppose this may work. I suspect the majority of users have their phones in a case and so to set the connector properly the USB C plug needs to be adjustable to add 0-2mm of additional length so that an owner can configure the usbc plug to fit their phone configuration (see photo) Otherwise the camera won’t plug in fully and thus is non functional.

Every time you use the device you need to refuse to buy AI analysis. Literally every picture you take brings up the subscription box. I just paid them to shove ads in my face. Said no 5 times in the first minute of testing the thing out.
You want me to pay to use the thing then give it away for free. I'm not going to pay this much for a tool then pay to use it.
