Absolutely worth the money ! Was so easy and light weight . I got the 1 inch.. I have little longer than shoulder length hair . My hair is very thin and this gives me the volume I need without the damage . I set on lowest heat setting and use a heat protector spray .
Had no smell like some said .. at least not for me . I dunno if they had a product with it that caused it but zero smell with my experience.
Love it and it’s definitely worth a try .

The plates are too close together in order to curl any hair at one time. The hinge on the bottom will give you blood blisters if you’re not careful. It hurts!

I have shoulder length hair and went back and forth on getting 1 or 1.25 inch and settled on 1.25. Does a good job on my hair and doesn't take long at all to do.

Warmed up really quickly and held the temperature during my two hours of use. I love that it has a small beep alarm that lets you know when you’ve held the tool on the hair for too long. The pattern is beautiful and it held up even in Florida humidity. I do hair for a living, and I was really happy with it.

Was a bit time consuming but that’s to be expected with small sections and how long my hair is. beep feature so nice because I get easily distracted lol I lowered the temp on mine to 360, might try a little lower next time. Also don’t forget to use your heat protector spray. I love this crimper waver🫶

I originally ordered the big one, but it was too big and bulky so I returned that and downsize to the smaller one best thing ever and it’s so compact and curls really fast. I highly recommend it and beeps when the curls are ready. Down side is, it leaves your hair with a slight smell from the camper. I had just washed and blow dry my hair prior to using the crimper so I know it wasn’t my hair. Other than that I love it

been wanting this for awhile now & finally caved!! i can’t stand regular curling irons (i can’t manage them lol) & i like the wavy look more anyways. took me only like 20 mins to do my whole head!! & took probably less than a minute to heat up.

I freaking love this! I use this every 3 days. The waves stay for about 3 days. I love that it beeps when it’s time to move into the next strand. My 10 year old has one and she was getting sick of me borrowing it so I had to get my own. It’s able quicker than curls and more consistent too!

I love this crimper! I have very thick and long hair and curls never hold in my hair. Curling irons never work, once I finish with one side the other side would already be flat. I tried curlers, which could never hold all my hair and i tried curling with the flat iron and again would just fall out flat.
This crimper stayed wavy until the next morning! I did it in sections and the 6 second timer, gave me perfect waves. It’s easy to use and heats up fast. The quality feels sturdy and well made. I’m so happy I finally found something that works on my hair, and this a good price. When looking at crimper’s in other stores they were pricey.

I have short, color-treated, medium to fine hair. On my first attempt at using the tool (hair unwashed) I found it was very easy to use and worked really well. It heats up quickly, and creates soft, beachy waves, which added some volume to my hair. It seems well made, with a clear digital display and buttons inside the handle so you don't accidentally touch them. It also locks and has a built-in wrap for the power cord.

Ok - I was ready write this review before I even finished my hair. This waver is incredible! It blows my other waver out of the water. The waves are deep! I’ve noticed it doesn’t always beep at the end of the hair but I think it’s maybe not sensing the tint end pieces and I’m ok with that based on how well my hair is waving. I have very course hair that is also thick (the 2 are not the same) and this did the job! And if I didn’t use of after a certain period of time, it would automatically shut off and I love that too. I got the 1.25 inch and it is SO WORTH IT!!!

I got a TON of compliments the first day I used it on my hair! It gave the exact look I was aiming for with this hairstyle. My only complaint is more of a personal one but I feel that the rubber padding to heat protect your fingers should be larger and thicker. But other than that- love it!

Seems easy enough to use, however I bought this cuz I was using an older crimper and having to keep track of how long each section was crimped and this one made a beep so I would know and it would be even. I started noticing that sometimes it would not beep, so if I wasn't paying attention I would burn my hair. I started counting just in case which defeats the whole purpose of why I bought it. It also got extremely hot, I had it on the default 300° f setting. If you're just holding it on the rubber at the end it's fine but I would have to maneuver it around my head and kept burning myself. It was really hard to do the back by myself. This is the first time I've used it so maybe I'll get used to it...I don't know, I'm not sure if I'll keep it. It did give me volume, pics for reference.

This crimper is everything. It revived an old wig of mine. It gives a good heat so I’d be cautious on the settings but it’s a new and improved 90s version of the crimp life.

I love this iron! You can curl all your hair very quickly thanks to the width of the irons. It is a little big, but very easy to grip and use. It heats to whatever temp you choose very quickly!
This iron gives you a really nice wave and added thickness to the appearance of your hair. I love that you can adjust the heat as my hair can set at the lowest temperature which can save your/my hair from unnecessary damage.
The other fantastic feature is the curl timer which beeps to signal you, you have curled that section long enough. This is another great feature to prevent damage and keep your hair soft.

There weren’t much reviews from black women with pictures on this item so I took a gamble.
I have 4A hair texture and I used the 1 inch waver/crimper after already having my hair straightened for a week and just wanted to add some waves/texture to change it up.
After reading reviews I didn’t want to turn the temp up too high. I achieved the look in the picture using the 300 temperature setting for a 10 second hold.
I would have liked more pronounced waves and had to go over some sections more than once and probably could have turned the heat higher to prevent having to go over a few sections but didn’t want to damage my hair.
Now it did work. But it still gave that “flat iorn” smell other reviews have mentioned and I just used some olaplex oil after I was finished and it help with the smell and the next day the smell was completely gone.
CONS: I will say that the timer is iffy didn’t always sound after 10 seconds, the waver itself could open up wider to make it easier to grab sections, and it sometimes snags hairs between the plates and plastic body of the waver
PROS: timer (when working- worked most of the time), quick heat, easy to handle, works for 4A hair texture, only took 15 mins to do whole head (I have thin hair), has rubber guards/grips on the edge of the iron so you don’t burn your fingers and they act as grips so the iron doesn’t slide on the counter or burn it (this was a nice touch).
All in all, I do like it and will continue to use it

I never write reviews but this TYMO waver is worth submitting one. It has been a long time since I was this happily satisfied with a product. For reference this picture shows the cheaper version I have replaced over and over for years. First use with the TYMO I couldn't be more pleased. I have been hesitant to spend even the extra little bit of money to buy a better product bc I am always dissapointed and end up returning. After reading dozens of other reviews I decided to take the risk and so glad I did. The price of the TYMO is very reasonable and well worth the try. To start there was no weird chemical smell you get when first use of these hair tools. It heated up so quickly. Less than a minute or so. I have been used to waiting like 5 to 10 min to get to the temperature I needed on my old waver. The timer and temperature control on this is just a added bonus. What used to take me over 20 minutes took less than 5 to do my whole head and I have thick hair. Furthermore, the waves created looked so much more natural and my hair felt less fried. I have finally found what I have been in search of forever. This waver is a game changer and must buy. High hopes that this will outlast my previous wavers. Almost wanting to buy another one just to ensure I can get this same product again if ever needed. Nothing like finding something great and then it being discontinued. One more note... I chose the compact version bc I have arthritis in my thumbs and wrist. This was light and quick enough that it didnt tire out my hands.

I never leave product reviews.. so it’s saying something when I felt the absolute need to leave one for this crimper!! I have naturally wavy hair but since I run my hands through it during the day, it leaves my waves flat. I bought this in hopes of touching up my waves so that I wouldn’t have to wet and recrunch it every morning! THIS CRIMPER IS AMAZING!! I don’t get the smell everyone is talking about. I think they are just burning their hair and blaming the crimper.
I use mine at 280° (lowest) for 8 seconds and it does the job! If I do 300° I do it for 6 seconds. I have long thick hair so it takes me about an hour to do (sectioned and small pieces).
The pictures:
-In the bathroom, I crimped my hair Sunday night, and this was my hair Monday afternoon.
-In my bedroom, these were taken Wednesday night (3 days later)! Waves still in tact and gorgeous! I only touched up my top layers because I run my hands through them which ultimately flattens the waves. It is now Thursday and the waves are still gorgeous. I’ll wash my hair Friday just because my hair is getting greasy from product.
Pro’s:
1. Heats up quickly
2. Can set timer to beep after 6, 8, 10 seconds
3. Super easy to use (I got the hang of if after my first use, which was like 30 minutes of practice)
4. Waves last all day & overnight
5. Super easy to touch up flat waves if they’ve straightened out over night
Cons:
1. It turns off after a certain amount of time, even if I’m still using it. Not a big deal, just kind of annoying.
2. I still haven’t mastered how to prevent the crease from the first crimp closest to my roots, but thankfully after 30 or so minutes, the crease disappears so it’s not that big of a deal!

This Tymo beach waver is AMAZING! I have super long fine hair, but a lot of it! My hair is tailbone length, and curling it is a pain… and just takes way too much time! I typically wear a long braid or multiple braids to get my beach waves, but now an have this wonderful tool, that is better than any of the others I’ve tried! Anyone should be able to use this, is super easy! Even has a timer that beeps to remind you when to release, that can be adjusted! Make sure to use a heat protection product, and a good hair oil! Adjust heat setting, start low and work your way up. A little tip for more volume at the root, flip the iron upside down with the Tymo label pointed towards your head to lift the roots, making sure to not have it too close where it will burn your scalp… play with the angle a bit to make your hair lay the way you want it! Also make sure you align your iron properly when moving down your hair towards the ends so you don’t get uneven waves. You can run a little hair oil mid hairshaft through hair ends, and break up waves with your fingers if you want, just don’t brush your waves! So far my waves have last since I got this tool yesterday, in Texas humidity, even after wearing my bun on top of my head overnight to sleep in... Should last until I shampoo in a couple more days! Great tool, high quality! Fantastic job Tymo, this is a tool I will use quite frequently! 🙌🏽😍

This product is fantastic and puts wonderful waves in my hair. The waves will last for days even. I genuinely love it. I have one little complaint though. The end of the crimper where the hinge helps it open and close, pinches your hand. HARD. Like, to the point I've gotten a blood blister from it one of the many times I've gotten my skin pinched. I have even been careful and am aware that that happens, but it STILL manages to pinch my hand while I use it sometimes. It freaking hurts. I uploaded a video showing where it happens. The way you hold it with your hand, sometimes it's hard to avoid it even when being careful. I keep meaning to email the company to mention it, But yeah it's definitely something to just be aware of.
