This pricey camera takes an excellent photo, too good a photo for regular security work. For most regular, keeping an eye on the house kind of surveillance, I find the much more affordable Flex Mini perfectly serviceable.
However, as you can see, we recently paid an absurd amount of money for a lake view, and this is a means towards maximizing that investment. The shots this camera takes add to the enjoyment of the house.
I’ve enabled HDR and record at 4K. This is being recorded onto a Gen2 Cloud Key, which I found a cheapish 5TB upgrade drive for. The results are more than pleasant. I’ll bring this up on the Ubiquiti Protect Apple TV app and scroll through a beautiful sunrise or listen to the ambient bird song.
However, the AppleTV app is poorly maintained and the text is much too small when scrolling through time.
Installation requires Gigabit Ethernet for a full quality stream, so make sure you terminate properly.
Since there is zoom but not pan, zooming is fairly useless other than to aid in initial framing of the shot, but if you have some special need to focus in on one particular distant area, it works well.
Mounting hardware is magnificently robust and well designed. It best be for a weather proof heavy camera. Love the use of Power over Ethernet to simplify connections and minimize the size of the hole in my beautiful house.
Night performance has been great, a great leap over the mediocre/bad performance of the G3 bullet. Love scrolling through moon rises too.
Recommend this only for those with means and a view worthy of the expense.

Over Priced, Poor Video Quality
Upon first unboxing and inspection, these look like baby Hubble Telescopes. Which lead me to falsely assume they would deliver the quality image that my retail store needs, on the occasions of theft.
Nothing could be further from the truth, these cameras are abysmal, grainy, slow even on their hight settings, and zoomed in.
I have Fiber 1GB Internet and have Dream Machine and Ubiquiti Pro Switches, so I know it isn't the connection.
And my final gripe is that unless you are mounting them on the side of a wall, their bases do not allow you to tilt them high enough to make use of the wide-angle of their lenses.

Crystal Clear and Reliable
I've had this camera installed going on 6 months as of this post. I live on an island, where we have constant moisture and humidity. I have not once experienced ANY condensation build-up. I honestly believe those that have complained about this problem, do not understand how to avoid condensation forming when going from two different climates (cold ac indoors, to normal temps outdoors).
I installed this camera in 90 degree heat and made sure to mount them properly, directly to a flat surface. I have multiple cameras, all of them with various exposures to the elements(some under a covered soffit, some directly exposed on a pillar and all of them without any condensation issues.
I have all of them running PoE and aside from some Ubiquiti software downtime(only happened once so far, during an approaching hurricane) I have nothing to complain about. The motion alert algorithm catches damn near everything.
I plan on upgrading/adding more of these in the future.

One of a kind camera
Night vision is out of this world. Photos attached are for comparison. The night snapshot was in total pitch dark. The cameras during the day is phenomenal.

Halo in image due to condensation
Camera developed condensation on inside of lens as shown in photo. It was never exposed to any form of humidity!
Images from my G3s are superior but could be because of fog...... 1 Gb connection to camera shows unexpected in pixelation during motion on live view....
Do not buy until condensation and pixelation issues are resolved. Not what I expected for a very expensive video camera.

Do not buy yet. Major issue with moisture
We purchased seven ubiquiti cameras and the pro 4 was a nightmare. Day 1 we found moisture in the lens. Ubiquiti is aware of the issue and had not done anything to fix it. But they keep shipping.
It has to be direct through ubiquiti.
Total waste of $500. The 3 Pro is sufficient.

Condensation inside the lens!!!!
I have 4 of these now. Within a couple of hours after the install they have condensation inside the inner lens. Looking around it’s a known issue. Hoping that UniFi will work hard with me to resolve the issue.

Nice Camera but Quality Control Problems
Hooked this camera up to my ubiquiti switch to adopt/test before mounting outside. Glad I did because after About 45 minutes - 1 hr, there was significant condensation build up
inside the camera on the lens (see photos). This camera is supposed to be IP67 weather resistant (basically completely weather proof/submersible) so this is pretty disappointing quality control for a camera that cost 3x the G3 base model.
New camera is up and running and the picture quality/functionality is good. Biggest complaint is the motion detection is very laggy. The optical zoom is a little cumbersome so I would only plan to use this feature as a set up sort of feature and less as something you will use dynamically and often. If you’re on the ubiquiti platform and looking for a wide angle 4K camera this is the only choice. It’s a good camera, just very overpriced.
