Lightweight and convenient for quick lighting
I really like how lightweight and portable this light is. It’s easy to carry around and move wherever I need it, and I like having different light and color options to choose from.
The light isn’t extremely powerful, so I wouldn’t expect it to light up a large area, but it’s very convenient when you need some extra lighting quickly. The battery also seems to run down a little faster than I expected.
Overall, I like it because it’s lightweight, versatile, and easy to use when I need a portable light.

Highly Recommend - From A Photographer
I am obsessed with this light wand! I have been doing photography for almost 15 years and I have always loved the idea of having the ability to quickly and easily add a pop of light into a photo or video. I have used light wands in the past that require their own special battery and charger and run out of battery life really quickly and were more expensive than this and it had left me feeling like they aren't worth the hassle. I decided to roll the dice on thislight wand and try again because I love the idea and it's so affordable. I'm so happy I decided to try it.. It's easy to charge, it has a good battery life, the light is pretty powerful for what it is, it's small and light, and I like how you can change the colors and temperatures on it. You can use it for so many different things. I included a video where the light wand is reflecting on the wall and you can see some of the different colors and brightness of it. I plan to get a second light!!

My god it’s beautiful. I like the way that you can do any sort of hue on the color wheel rather than the typical click through and get specific ones, as well as how bright it gets too. I used this for multiple 30-60min sessions at a convention, Thursday-Sunday, and didn’t have to charge it once. Total use time was probably around 4 hours and it still has battery left.

It's definitely good, the battery life is good.
The light is super good and versatile. It took me a little while to learn how to use it, but then it became easy. I used it for a long event, so its battery lasted approximately 3 hours continuously on, but after that the lamp works if you connect it to the power, which is good, because while it is charging, it continues to work.

LCD display doesn't work
The LCD display doesn't work, so I can't configure the stick at all, or even know how much battery I have left, or if it's charging. I bought it because I really needed it for work and it ended up in my drawer and my money was wasted. Couldn't get a replace or even a refund.

Gets the job done
It provided the pink lighting at an event I traveled to. The battery lasted fine the entire time but I didn’t have it on continuous. I kept it stationary on a tripod the entire time because it didn’t feel sturdy enough to not have it stationary (compared to the other brand of light at the same price point that I bought)
For my purposes I wouldn’t recommend it since I travel heavily and it didn’t come with a protective cover and feels flimsier. For a casual light to have set up at home it’s fine. And if you are taking it out and about often it would be fine to have. The body is nearly entirely plastic. There’s also more light modes than I needed (strobing and such)

I love these lights!
Great lights! They are very bright and are great for filming. Easy to pack up and move around the fact that they are magnetic is great and with the screw hole on the bottom that are very versatile. Battery light is just good though not great.

Decent for practical lights
Hey they are cheap, weigh almost nothing and are great for practicals. They have a magnet at the back and side that make them awesome for mounting in weird places… they aren’t super bright but they can be good when used creatively. They have some special vfx modes that are ok I guess, but really you are buying these for there rgb capabilities. I’ve attached a small video of a shoot I was doing for a friend in which I used them as practicals behind some umbrellas

Great for photography, video, and vibe
Use this in short films I do at home as well using it for atmospheric vibe when in creating in the basement. For the price of works extremely well, if you can find a cheap tripod you can get more out of it.

Glad I bought it
So I bought this originally to use as lighting for photos and for a specific photo session idea I had for my son. I was a bit worried to let him hold it but he did a good job of not swinging it around. I was glad that it had the option to change the color of the light as I was doing a star wars inspired shoot. It is reasonably priced and works well.

Love this light! Good battery life and bright colors
Used this light in a short film to create contrast in the background (the green light in images). We were shooting for about 6 hours and this light lasted the entire time. Given the price, I think the output and battery life are definitely worth it.
I would suggest buying a couple if you're someone who shoots for a long time, but as far as quality of the product , its amazing. Great cheap alternative for the pricier lights.

I didn’t know I was going to be this big of a fan of this light, it’s quite versatile. Especially for this price and for what it does for you, an impeccable product from Ulanzi!! Definitely going to get more into my light arsenal!

Mighty little light
Don’t let the size fool you. You’ll definitely receive your moneys worth with this compact light. It does so much more than what I purchased it for. You can adjust the temperature of the light from 2500K to 9000K, as well as the brightness levels. There’s 20 different scene modes and the one I can’t wait to try is the TV scene. It’s really cool. You can even adjust the RGB rendering to pretty much any color you want.
It also comes with a built in receptacle so that you can screw it on a tripod. At first when I took it out the box, I was disappointed by the size, but honestly.. it’s packing way more than it should to be so small. Way worth it!

Excellent light that works as described
The item arrived on time in secure packaging and was as described. It also works as described, and transitions seamlessly through the RGB range. The brightness is also adjustable seamlessly from 1% to 100%. The battery life is great so it can be used for extended sessions before requiring recharge. A USB Type-C charging cable is included.
It has a standard threaded hole at the bottom for mounting on a light stand or tripod.
It is an excellent light at a reasonable price and I recommend it.

had less than 3 months and lit on fire when charging.
This was good when it lasted (bought in November 2022). Today when charging it literally lit on fire likely a bad lithium ion battery. I rarely write reviews but I had to post this today. When it was working it was fine, but causing a fire, luckily didn't mess anything else on my desk other than some soot. Don't reccomend.

Bright RGB Light wand
Sadly the iPhone white balanced on the light so you do not get to see the color vibrance of this light. It makes a great accent light to add a nice accent to your shots. I used this as my second Key light to add color accents to the thing I was recording. And it did help add dimension to its look. This is a battery operated light and it can recharge off of USB-C. And it is not app enabled but it does stick with the standard HSL format which should color match any other light you have that uses this format. It has different scenes like Police car, Lightning ETC so you can use it to set moods. It does have a 1/4 20 mount on the bottom that allows you to use any tripod with that or even camera Tripod to mount this light for use. All in all its a decent accent light to use for your production and its size and battery life (70 minutes) should last you for a good amount of time for that interview and if you carry around a USB battery you can keep it going all day. .

Great lighting tool with a broad spectrum of uses!
The ULANZI Handheld RGB LED Light Wand is a value-priced RGB wand that does everything I need without spending 4x more for a comparable wand.
The colors are spot on and compared to my RGB panel lights it is impossible to see any differences there or in the CCT spectrum.
Given the wand’s overall weight I was a little concerned that it would be flimsy I guess is the right word and was really satisfied when I opened the box, it is exactly what I expected from Ulanzi.
The light is a good solid plastic construction no rattles light wand. I think if I had considered this for something I would be using outdoors I may have reconsidered this unit for something with more heft but for my work it is perfect. Just something to give some thought to if you are looking for a wand that is more robust for outdoor use and the possibility of some abuse while in the kit box or bag.
You can read the tech specs in the product description all day long if you want, I hope I can save you some time. It meets all of the stated specs. It is bright enough without being overpowering and is really designed for close subject use over expecting it to cover a broad space.
The 20 light effects are cool addition and as much as I didn’t think I would go down that rabbit hole I found myself right out of the box using some of the effects to enhance a video I was working on to add a bit of humor and color to the project which worked great. When I played the vid for the intended audience, there were a few good chuckles only because of the wand’s lighting additions.
Being able to screw the wand directly to a camera plate on a tripod is a big plus as well. And I find myself using this on a tripod as a fill light for some talking head stuff. I like the longer vertical light ability over a small panel light. It adds a different perspective.
There is not really a downside for me that I have run across for my use. And I feel that I covered what to ponder if this is a wand you want. I guess if I feel like there was anything I thought could be different, the menu buttons took a few minutes to get used to over a wheel but never enough to slow me down.

Good but not Professional level
This is a fun little light. It is easy to use and is pack with features.
It gives you a lot of control. You can dial in Kelvin color temperature by 10 degree increments. In the RGB mode you can adjust the Hue and Saturation to get most any color you want. The light effects are interesting but I don't think they are very believable.
I did a color test at 3600K and 5600K with a color meter. You can see the results for the 5600 in added photos. It came in low by about 400K on each, which is about average with LEDs. It is an easy fix to dial in on the light.
The description says 70 minutes of run time. I tested it and it lasted almost 2 hours at 100%. Then it took an hour to fully recharge. The description make this sound like a professional level light. It does have pro features but it is not pro built. It is hard plastic on the base but the light part is a bit flimsy. It feels like one hard fall would break it. My kids were convinced it was a toy lightsaber because it feels like a one. It would be ideal in a semi-professionally way, like in a home studio. But then again with a such a low price and decent color it might be handy to have in your video kit.

Display is not usable. Otherwise it's OK
The display on the back is so dim it's useless. The light works but you can't see what settings you are using and changing. I thought mine was defective so I sent it back and got a replacement and it's the same (no it's not the same one I sent back as I sent the original back after receiving the replacement).
I did send an email to Ulanzi support but have not heard back from them yet
