Good, Small, Inexpensive option for fill/additional lighting.
these things are great! for $18 each, everyone should have a handful of them. simple controls for color that can get you pretty much whatever you want. lightweight and should not tax any arm used to hold them. small enough to tuck into a corner and hide from the lens. easy and cheap...too bad most photography products are neither. i cannot yet account for battery life or life in general, but, for the cost, i will take whatever service they give me.

Great little spot lamp
The ULANZI VL49 RGB is surprisingly bright for its size. At 2000 mAh, it's bright enough to use as a full light when Vlogging but also surprisingly effective at adding a pop of color to an existing scene or the background. Its ability to set the light temperature from warm to cool, and then full RGB, and all the colors make this incredibly versatile for its size.
Super small and lightweight and I like the fact that the power button is recessed a bit and has to slide on instead of pressing it, so you can't accidentally or easily turn it on in a bag.
You're not going to get studio quality color accuracy from this but it's surprisingly in the ballpark for what it's intended for. The USB-C charge port on the back makes it very convenient and the fact that it can be mounted in both a cold shoe or a 1/4 20 mount makes it very versatile.
I have ended up using this much more than I thought I would as a fill or background color light.

Good solution for low light or night photography
Compact but certainly sturdy, this little light unit gives off a ton of brightness. I know many people are probably using it or considering this item for video purposes but I needed something that could add quality light in night and low light settings for photographs. It's easy to mount to a standard hot shoe or to use as a stand-alone light if that fits your need. The feature that really drew me to it was the ability to change colors and color temperature which can be extremely helpful when trying to tweak the creative elements of your photo. The menu is easy to use but it does take a little playing around to figure out how to make adjustments and the directions are of no help. It also might be a bit difficult if you are using it to with a person as the subject because the light may be pretty strong for them to look directly at your camera or video recorder. Those are my only real issues with this light. Overall it is a good option at a low price.

Ilumina muy bien, el tamaño es pequeño, muy fácil de transportar y cambia los niveles de luz de forma correcta. Existen 3 configuraciones listas para usar con un botón, lo cual es muy útil. Estéticamente se ve bien, pero aún me falta comprobar el tiempo de duración de la batería.

Love the light, only works while plugged in now.
This light is good, nice options for color temp and brightness.It was very portable but the battery no longer holds a charge very long so I've started using 100% at the desk. I had gotten it during a sale so for I think $13 it's a good light, I was disappointed that it's no longer portable but I found a different light for that use.
I'm sure my battery is a fluke for the price it's a good light, grabbing a few would be enough if you're starting a little DIY channel or other content creation. I use this for a baseball card channel and the portable one I use for my truck camping channel.

Great portable light for multiple uses
If you need a portable light that fits in your camera bag or even your pocket, look no further. While it won't light up the whole room unless you have 50 of them, you can easily light up your subject. You can change color. It has different modes, like flashing, color change. You can adjust the light temperature. It seems like it charges up fairly quickly and it last quite awhile on 50 percent brightness. For under 35 bucks for a light that can go anywhere I can't complain.

The light's battery discharges even when not in use. At 31% of battery it does not turn on, no even dim light. The only way I can use it is when it is plugged in.

This light is compact and provides a decent amount of light. The color temperature is 2500-9000K, and the RGB color is 0-359. My video includes several examples to illustrate the light in action.
The light has three cold shoes and one 1/4" screw, so it has multiple options for mounting and combining lights. It attaches to small tripods and selfie sticks using a 1/4" screw. I am using the light with Shinewee cell phone holder.
It has a USB-C port for charging the light. The charger and cable are not included. Using fast charger and C-type to C-type cable from depleted to fully charged on my fast charger takes 2 hours. The light can be used while it is charging.
The new light lasts 4 hours on 50% brightness. If you see 50% that does not change when you charge it, check if the display shows the brightness rather than battery level. My light came set at 50% brightness level, and I saw that level shown as I was charging.
The brightness can be changed in 1% increments. The color also changes by one. These changes have to be done manually, and it does take a bit of time if you are trying to go from one end of the scale to the other. There is a shortcut to get to white. If you hold down the third button from the left (the button before the power toggle), it switches between RGB and Cool/Warm White. Then use the arrow buttons on the left to tune the colors.
The light is not waterproof, but I can still use it by putting a plastic zip lock bag over the light.
I initially was considering ULANZI VL49 RGB's previous version, which was $10 cheaper. Then on Black Friday, the price for both units was the same, and I got this "upgraded" version. Here are the major differences between the two:
1. The upgraded version has brighter lights and higher color rendering
2. The charging port changed from Micro USB to C-type, so it charges faster

No real complaints. The brightness and color ranges are really nice. Fits a variety of my stands. Battery life is good. It’s plastic but has a good quality too it. Lightweight and easy to use.

My initial impressions are that the VL 49 RGB light works well and is easy to use. Seems to provide a good amount of light for its size. I will need to try it out a bit more in order to comment on the battery life and usage/benefit for video/photography work.

This was definitely fun to use. I recently bought some extension tubes for my camera for some macro shots and I used this RGB light to create that purple halo. It definitely make other colors too with ease. Honestly I’m thinking of buying another one so that I can two light sources :D

Awesome little RGB light, especially for the price. Puts out a bright light, has multiple ways to mount onto camera or attach to multiples of the same light if you have more than one! Also puts out a white light with a range of temperature, which can be helpful when doing photography stuff. USB-C charging is convenient, and the magnet in the back is neat and allows to you attach it to metal objects ( I do wish the magnet was a bit stronger though ) overall, I'm stoked I bought this thing on sale. Thanks to the people that made it 🙏
