Nope

Bought this horn for my 10 year old's first year of band. I used to play myself and was initially impressed with the build quality and value. However, after sitting in its case all summer long I just went to clean and live the valves and slides. What I found was the lacquer had worn off at every single spot my daughter held it with her left hand. It looks awful, has basically made the horn junk, and now I wonder what kind of chemicals she was exposed to from this.

I'm junking this horn and giving her mine instead. The case and accessories are nice, but the trumpet itself? Hard pass.

White mold !

Ordered this trumpet for my grandson. The instrument itself seems fine, but the case was covered in white mold.

Don't do it

Hey! So my first impressions were great, however I am updating the review. Basically on mine the notes E and F don't slot well, and will even play double tones. Really disappointing because the instrument is beautiful. I reached out to Vangoa but no response as of yet. Will update if I hear back.

Keys were stuck

We bought this as a beginner instrument for my son. One key was stuck, another crooked and it was missing the screw on the adjustable finger thing. I thought this may be a one-off so ordered a replacement. When the replacement came, my son took it to the band leader for approval. It was not approved. The director said that the horn was already dented and would not hold up to daily use and the sound quality was not good. Also, the second one was missing the cleaning kit.

Pleasantly surprised for the $

I was prepared for the worst but was astonished with the beautiful finish and fit! I have owned a Shilke and a pro YTR Yamaha and wanted to see if I could find a little magic at 70 so didn’t want to spend a lot but hoping for something good enough to give myself a fighting chance to play again. I believe this will do. I just got her today but can create a sound from c-d and am starting with supported whole notes. Heck this thing is worth the price as a wall hanging but expect to be able to play a little in church by July 4.

I am already able to play a pretty nice sounding taps and have done so outside my beach condo patios the last to evenings at sunset (starting on middle c ) I plan to play this pro bono for veterans graveside services .

Now when they tell you to go blow your horn, you have a horn to blow.

This is a beautiful horn it is easy to play and one thing I like about it comes with his own stand and cloth to keep it clean. I recommend. God bless you, thank you may the rest of your life be the best of your life. OZ

Six Stars - Plays Very Well - Impressed

I included pictures of how it came packaged. That's helpful sometimes. I'm a semi-professional trumpet player. I have pro horns - Bach & Schilke - Bb & C horns - and also a Schilke flugelhorn. I've played for many years. This horn is very impressive. It's certainly better than what I first started with in school. It would be great for a beginner and beyond.

They thought of about everything - except a little slide grease, though the slides came greased and were easy to move. I added a drop of valve oil to each slide. They also could have included some small swatches of cloth for the cleaning rod they did include. They included valve oil and also a trumpet stand that stores in the bell.

Out of the case, the middle valve was stuck. I took off the bottom valve cap and pushed it out with my finger. I oiled the valves and immediately was surprised with the action. I expected them to be a little stiff - that's okay at first -, but these weren't. They play great and they're quiet. I was surprised.

I tried the included mouthpiece just to play it, but then I got my own. The tone is good. I play trumpet and flugelhorn one after the other to have the different tones. Some horns are dark or warm and some are bright. This one is maybe sort of in between - a good balance. I like the warmer tones myself.

I played scales - fast chromatics up and down and I was impressed. The valve action was very good and the notes are in tune with themselves. A horn player knows what I mean when I say I didn't have to do any real lipping to play in tune. The C# and D in the lower range are usually sharp on about any horn - thus the 1st and 3rd slides. This didn't need as much fine tuning as some horns I've played.

The high register was easier to play than some other horns I've played. Above the staff - high C and above was crisp and clean. That also impressed me.

This is not a pro horn and it's not going to replace my horns. But for me, I can use it as a practice horn ... or if I travel and don't want to carry the others, this is just fine. I wouldn't balk one minute using this in a performance. This is a great student horn ..., but again, it's a good horn for any level player.
