6 months Memory chip problems

The camera was fire. Overheats if you keep it plugged in with or without the sun. If it’s sitting in the sun and on it’s scorching hot but duh right. Anyways camera great and all if set up properly but you have to buy multiple memory cards which are like $50 every three months. Or you have to order a new camera and send back the old one. Cause if I’m losing money using this device so will this company.

Great Dash cam

Installed this dash cam as soon as it came in the mail, and already caught some useful footage. Comes with front and rear camera. Highly recommend this dash cam. High quality video footage.

N4S Great Upgrades!

Decided to upgrade my Vantrue N4 and got the N4S. Plus they've been around for 11 or so years now.

The cameras are similar but I'm really liking the WIfi. Being able to get info right to my phone is huge. Don't have to take the SD card out and put it in my computer anymore. Plus you can easily provide police or insurance company photos immediately while still on the scene.

Installation is easy. As you no longer use a suction cup you want to mount it right the first time. I recommend turning on the camera and positioning it exactly where you want. Then have a friend put a piece of tape on the outside of the windshield to mark where your camera goes.

Camera reads plates clear even with a glare and dirty windshield (see pic).

Program is user friendly.

I did not install the rear camera yet, but I like that it is waterproof. So you can mount it outside. Good if you have tinted windows or as a backup camera? don't know, haven't tried it yet.

Lots of upgrades from the N4 that makes this a no-brainer upgrade.

Another great camera by Vantrue.

Awesome dashcam

This is my second one in this model. I would def buy them again. You can’t be too careful nowadays on the road. Worth the money.

Definitely worth it's price!

The installation is very straightforward and easy to do. It includes everything you need for proper installation. The mount of the main dash cam is not adjustable, which I thought was going to be an issue at first, but it was not needed. The wide angle view is actually amazing and far exceeded my expectations! I installed mine directly behind my rear view mirror as seen in the picture. The only thing you will need is an SD card.

I like that it gives you the option to which cameras you wish to record with in the menu of the camera and you can even toggle which camera view you want to see full screen on the device.

This dash cam has all the features I was looking for plus more, so in my opinion, it is a very good buy!

Also, if you do not wish to use the provided 12v power adapter for the camera, you can buy a hard wire kit for a much cleaner installation.

Excellent image, easy to set up , overall Excellent dash cam

It is time to retire my Vantrue E1 1080P dashcam I bought 4 years ago and upgrade to a new Vantrue N4S with 2.7K 3 channel. Don't get me wrong, Vantrue E1 is still working perfectly fine in fact it will be on my rental car when I travel.

I just need to upgrade a better quality picture dashcam. and Vantrue N4S fits my need for price/quality and reliable. Set up and install are easy, I chose to hardwire both front and rear camera so it can record 24/24 when I park. I love a green blinking indicates it is recording, it is easier to see then a previous Vantrue model. Mounting system among the best , picture quality is excellent for all 3 channel and it supports large microSD card storage. Vantrue's reliable is unbeatable,. Vantrue is a top tier dashcam among Viofo, Blackvue and Thinkware but Vantrue's price is significant less than Blackvue and Thinkware. I hightly recommend Vantrue N4S if you are in the market for a dashcam.

Total Peace of Mind on the Road—Phenomenal 3-Channel Coverage!

I’ve been using the Vantrue New N4S 3-Channel Dash Cam for a couple of weeks now, and it is easily one of the best upgrades I’ve ever made for my vehicle. If you want true 360-degree coverage and complete peace of mind while driving or parked, this is the system to get.

What Makes It Stand Out:

Unbelievable Video Clarity: The 3K resolution on the front camera paired with the dual feeds for the cabin and rear is incredibly sharp. It balances bright spots and shadows beautifully using HDR, making it surprisingly easy to read license plates even in low-light conditions or on dark roads.

True 3-Channel Security: Having simultaneous recording for the front, interior, and rear means there are absolutely no blind spots. The interior camera is great for keeping an eye on the cabin, and the IR night vision works flawlessly in pitch-black conditions.

Blazing Fast Transfers: The built-in 5GHz Wi-Fi is a game-changer. Downloading clips directly to my phone via the Vantrue app is quick, smooth, and hassle-free, saving me from having to constantly pull out the memory card.

Reliable Build & Super Capacitor: Instead of a cheap lithium battery that risks overheating in a hot car, it uses a super capacitor. It gives me a lot of confidence that it will handle extreme summer heat and winter cold without deteriorating.

The Verdict:

The installation takes a little bit of time if you want to tuck the wires away neatly, but the manual is straightforward and easy to follow. It feels like a premium, top-tier product through and through. Don't settle for a cheap budget camera that will fail when you actually need the evidence—this one is worth every penny!

Great 3-Channel Footage, but Vantrue Makes the Rest Too Hard to Trust

I have owned multiple Vantrue dash cams, including this N4S 3-channel model, so my opinion is not based on a single defective unit or one bad afternoon. I wanted to like these cameras. In several important ways, I do. The video quality can be excellent, and the appeal of a front, rear, and interior camera system is obvious. If the product is working correctly, the footage is clear, useful, and exactly the kind of thing you hope you will never need but want to have available if something happens.

That is the frustrating part. Vantrue seems capable of making good camera hardware. What they have not shown, in my experience, is that they can support that hardware in a way that makes the overall product dependable.

A dash cam is different from a normal consumer gadget. If a Bluetooth speaker glitches, you are annoyed. If a dash cam fails, loses power, corrupts a card, misses parking footage, or cannot connect to the app when you need to retrieve a video, the consequences can be much more serious. The camera is supposed to protect you when something goes wrong. That means the installation, settings, app, storage, mount, and support all matter.

Vantrue gets some of that right and a lot of it wrong.

Basic installation is not terrible if all you want is a simple plug-in setup. If you are comfortable running a power cord to the outlet in your vehicle and you are not worried about parking mode, battery behavior, or a clean installation, the first steps are manageable. But this is a 3-channel dash cam. Many buyers are not purchasing something like this just to casually plug it in and hope for the best. They want front coverage, rear coverage, interior coverage, parking protection, and a setup that will reliably work without constant attention.

That usually means a more serious installation. You may need a hardwire kit, an OBD power solution, a fuse tap, or a professional installer. You may also need to understand how the camera behaves when the vehicle is off, what power mode it is using, how sensitive the parking settings are, and how to keep the camera from draining the vehicle battery.

That is where Vantrue’s documentation becomes a real problem. The box does not provide the kind of full, practical manual this product needs. The included material is much closer to a quick start guide than a complete explanation of how to use and configure the camera. The online material is not enough to solve that problem. There are settings and terms that are either under-explained or not explained in a practical way. A customer should not have to guess what every setting does, test it repeatedly, and then hope the setting does not cause a battery or recording problem.

This is not just about convenience. I used one of these Vantrue cameras with an OBD connection in an EV, and the vehicle warned me about serious battery drain. That should get anyone’s attention. If an electric vehicle is warning about external battery drain, imagine what can happen with a traditional gas vehicle if parking mode or power settings are wrong. You could come back to the car and find that the dash cam meant to protect you has created a no-start problem instead.

That risk would be easier to accept if Vantrue’s instructions were clear and its technical support were strong. In my experience, neither was true.

The app and account situation was one of the strangest parts of the whole experience. Vantrue allowed me to create an account on their website for the purpose of buying products and giving them money, but that website account was entirely separate from the account needed to use the app. The app required its own account, and that was the account I could not get Vantrue to create or approve.

Vantrue acknowledged that its systems were separate, but did not seem to appreciate why customers would find that inconvenient, confusing, or absurd.

That would be bad enough if the app were some optional extra, but it is not. The app is how many people expect to connect to the camera, retrieve video, check settings, transfer footage, and update firmware. I did not want to discover during an accident, after a hit-and-run, or after parking damage that I could not access the footage. I wanted to test the process in advance, which seems like exactly what a responsible customer should do.

I tried creating the account from multiple devices, with multiple email addresses, on different networks. I also had people in other places try. The problem was not one phone, one Gmail address, one home internet connection, or one local server. Yet Vantrue repeatedly suggested explanations that placed the blame somewhere on my end, even as those explanations became less plausible.

Customer support did not resolve it. Instead, it often felt like each conversation restarted at the beginning. I would provide information, perform requested steps, report the results, and then later be asked for the same information or told to repeat the same steps. That is not troubleshooting. That is a loop.

The most irritating part is that I was repeatedly told that actual technical support would contact me. That never happened. Not once did I receive the promised meaningful technical support from someone who could walk through the problem with me directly. I have an electronics calibration and troubleshooting background from the U.S. Army, and I was willing to help them isolate what was happening. I was not expecting magic. I was expecting access to someone who understood the product and could do more than relay scripted guesses through customer service.

That access never came.

Instead, I was asked to provide hidden app logs generated by tapping a secret area in the app several times. Those logs appeared in a language that was not the native language of my phone, and on the other side of the world. I was not given a clear explanation of what information the logs contained, why that information was necessary, or how it would be protected. I do not think customers should be expected to hand over unexplained phone diagnostic data just to receive basic support for a product they purchased, potentially to a foreign company in a country where the central government demands access as a condition of existing.

The missing manual situation was even more revealing. Customer service kept telling me to read the full manual included in the box. I kept explaining that there was no full manual in the box, only the quick start material. This was not based on one camera. I had multiple Vantrue models, and none of them included the manual customer service insisted should be there.

After weeks of back and forth, Vantrue finally confirmed that I was correct: they had stopped including the manual.

That is a much bigger problem than it may sound like. Corporate apparently changed the packaging and did not make sure customer service knew. Even worse, the top customer service manager I dealt with in the United States apparently went about a year without realizing that the models she was supporting no longer included the manual she was telling customers to use. A customer should not have to tell support that they don't know their own products!

That means she had not bothered to obtain or inspect the affected models for herself. She had not opened the box. She had not verified what customers were actually receiving. She had been telling customers to look for documentation that Vantrue no longer included, and when I told her it was missing, she treated me as though I was mistaken until corporate eventually confirmed it.

That is not a small oversight. It shows a serious disconnect between the company, its packaging, its support team, and the customer experience. The customer should not have to educate the company’s top U.S. customer service manager on what is included in the company’s own box.

I also ran into memory card problems. I received a “slow card” or write-speed error using cards that were purchased specifically because Vantrue indicated certain specifications were needed. This did not happen with just one card or one camera. It happened across multiple new cards and multiple Vantrue cameras. The cards were formatted inside the dash cams using Vantrue’s own internal formatting process, yet the cameras still produced errors.

Eventually, I used computer software to overwrite the camera’s formatting and fully reformat the cards. That process took a very long time, and the cards ultimately worked afterward but still demand occasional reformatting on a computer. From my experience, the issue was not simply that I bought the wrong cards, as I had the ones indicated on their website. The way the cameras formatted the cards appeared to be part of the problem.

That matters even more for a 3-channel dash cam. This camera is recording a lot of data. Front, rear, and cabin footage are only useful if the storage is reliable. If the camera complains about cards that meet the listed requirements, and if the camera’s own formatting creates problems, that undercuts confidence in the entire system.

The mount is another major concern. The camera connects through a powered windshield mount, but the connection does not feel secure enough for the job this product is supposed to perform. The camera slides into the mount, but there is not enough of a locking mechanism to make me confident it will stay connected during a serious jolt.

That is a terrible weakness in a dash cam. The moment of impact is the exact moment the camera must keep recording. If a bump, collision, rear impact, or abrupt movement can disconnect the camera from the mount and cut power, then the camera can fail at the very moment it is most needed.

I used black electrical tape as a workaround to help keep the camera attached to the mount. Some of the media I am including show this same type of Vantrue mount connection being taped, although the photos are not from this exact N4S unit. The important point is that I should not have to tape a dash cam to its own mount to trust it in an accident.

The physical design also creates placement issues. Depending on the vehicle, the forward lens can sit farther back from the windshield than other dash cams I have used. In vehicles with sensor housings near the rearview mirror, that can interfere with the field of view. A mount with more adjustment would help because windshields, mirror housings, sensor packages, and interior layouts vary widely. A dash cam should not be designed as though every vehicle has the same windshield angle and the same empty space behind the mirror.

With a 3-channel system, placement matters even more. The front camera, rear camera, and interior camera all need to be aimed properly. A good mount should make that easier, not introduce another set of compromises.

The bottom line is that this product has real strengths, but Vantrue’s execution around the product is not good enough. The footage can be excellent. The 3-channel coverage is valuable. The feature list is appealing. But the overall ownership experience is weighed down by weak documentation, account confusion, app problems, memory card errors, poor technical support, and a mount design I do not trust without tape.

I am giving it two stars because the camera can produce very good video and because the core hardware is not useless. But a dash cam has to be judged by more than footage quality. It has to be reliable, understandable, supportable, and secure in the vehicle. Vantrue failed too many of those tests for me to recommend this with confidence.

The N4S is massive compared to earlier models like the N2Pro. May not fit where you want.

Vantrue N4S 3 channel. This is huge compared to the N2 Pro it is replacing, see pics. the N2 Pro fit on a 2010 Corvette between the rear view mirror and the passenger sun visor, with visor deployed in the up or down position. The N4S will not fit in the same spot without being in the way of the mirror or sun visor. The N4S will fit BELOW the mirror or the visor in the down position. The N4S mounted that low on the windshield is not an option, it will block vision line of sight on the Corvette. This unit has plenty of windshield mirror/visor clearance on a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee but will not fit on the Corvette. Vantrue has finally moved away from the mini-USB plug to the USB C plug. The N4S does not have a battery. It has a power capacitor that powers only for a few seconds for the data to be saved to the data card. You have to hard wire it or power it through the optional OBD power adapter to use the parking features when the vehicle is not running.

Great Dash Cam!

I’ve been using the Vantrue N4S for a bit now, and honestly, it’s been awesome. The video quality is super clear on all three cameras, day or night, and I love knowing everything around my car is being recorded. The night vision is way better than I expected, and the PlatePix feature actually does make license plates easier to read.

Setup was pretty simple, and the magnetic mount is super handy. The app is fast, the WiFi transfer is quick, and the whole thing just works without me having to mess with it. It gives me a lot of peace of mind whether I’m driving or parked.

If you’re thinking about getting a dash cam, this one’s totally worth it.

Pros:

• Great video quality on all three cameras — front, inside, and rear look super clear. Auto exposure works great.

• Excellent night vision, especially with the STARVIS 2 sensor and HDR.

• PlatePix™ actually works, making license plates easier to read in motion or low light.

• Easy setup with the magnetic mount and simple wiring.

• Fast WiFi transfers thanks to 5GHz support.

• Solid app experience for reviewing clips and changing settings.

• Voice control is surprisingly handy for saving clips without touching anything.

• Feels well‑built and handles heat better than many dash cams.

• Cons:

• No suction mount included (it uses adhesive by default).

• Can get warm during long drives (pretty normal for multi‑channel cams).

• WiFi connection may be finicky depending on your phone.

• Takes a big memory card if you want to keep lots of footage (up to 1TB).

Feature Packed Dashcam!

Tl;dr: GET THIS!!!

My wife needed a dash cam and since I already had a previous great experience with a Vantrue dashcam, picking up this one up was an easy decision. The instructions are super easy to understand and we'll detaield plus it came in really nice premium packaging.

Because it also includes an optional rear camera, be prepared for some additional work. They included a panel removal tool which was nice to assist you in running the power cable to the rear facing camera. The extra work is totally worth it for the peace of mind!

The video quality is excellent in bright daylight and at night — everything stays super clear and sharp. The app is straightforward and makes it easy to pull up footage right on my phone. The GPS tracking your speed and location is another bonus.

Overall this thing made my wife super happy! I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a solid 3-channel dash cam. Just go for it! 🚗

VANTRUE N4 3 Channel Dash Cam Review

The new Vantrue N4S 3 channel dash cam is the third Vantrue cam that I've owned. I've been nothing but pleased with their products and this new model is my personal favorite thus far. It combines all the best features of the previous two models that I've owned and puts it all together in one model. Vantrue clearly learns from each generation, and their continuous innovation really shows in the quality of this camera. The adhesive, mounts and the rear rotating camera made the installation easy and ensure that the camera stays installed. The 3 cameras ensure that the blind spots are limited and allows recording of the inside cab which ensures safety and security for people inside the vehicle. The recording quality is clear whether at day or night and the camera is affordably priced. I couldn't ask for much more.

Reliable Dash Cam with Great Coverage and Clear Video

I’ve been using this Vantrue N4S dash cam and so far I’m really impressed with it. The video quality is very clear, and I really like that it records the front, inside, and rear of the car at the same time. The night vision is also better than I expected, which is a big plus for driving at night or in low-light areas. It feels well built, and the setup was pretty simple without being too complicated.

The built-in Wi-Fi and GPS are very convenient, especially when checking footage or keeping track of trip details. I also like the parking mode because it gives extra peace of mind when the car is parked. Overall, this dash cam feels reliable, practical, and worth the price. I’m very happy with it and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for full coverage and solid video quality.

Another amazing 3 Channel Dash Cam by Vantrue with all the features and specs you need

First this is the only brand of Dash Cam I have ever bought, the reason being that they are the top choice for rideshare driver and since then it have become the gold standard of dashcam. Why? Their customer service is amazing, their product is top of the line, and every piece just work together very nicely and I never had any issues using them.

Before this N4S I was using their E360 dashcam which is nice and innovating at the time, however I still enjoy the horizontal screen on dashcam more, this is where the N4S comes in as an upgrade from my previous N4 Pro which is already great.

The N4S is an upgrade of the N4 pro in all aspect, higher resolution and support higher memory card storage. Since I have the 12v hardwire already setup in my car, all I had to do is redo the wire a little and easy to mount the new dash cam to the windshield. The dash cam also come with a rear camera which also have very good resolution. I love that the connection for the dash cam itself have GPS built in, the connectivity of the dash cam itself is very simple and it use usb-c connection, as far as power goes, with the 12v hardwire I never have to worry about using the cigarette port because I like my wire hidden, and whenever i start the car it comes right on and when its off it will detect motion impact. I love that the resolution is very clear on 3 channel, this is the most important in terms of dash cam when you need to have clear details if something happen to the car.

The dash cam comes with everything you need in the box for setup, its great value for money you can get on dash cam. The quality of the camera is solid, very nice built, and when I power on the first time it already have the latest firmware installed.

There are many other dash cam out there, but I believe this N4S 3 Channel Dash Cam is great for everyone, it have all the features you need for a dash cam. I highly recommend this brand and this dash cam

Not bad for the price

I upgraded from the E360 as I wasn't the biggest fan of the fish-dome panoramic view; to each their own. The quality on the N4S is good and the front camera can record up to 2592x1944p while the cabin and rear camera simultaneously record at 2560x1440p. This means the front camera will have a slightly vertically stretched appearance compared to the cabin/rear camera which is more proportional; it looks odd, but you can use editing software to make it appear proportional if necessary as additional pixel could be important in seeing additional details in a hit-and-run scenario. In order to run it at the maximum resolution settings as I just mentioned, you will need a very high-end MicroSD card, otherwise you will encounter "Slow Card" error every 1 minute and the dashcam will be unusable at those settings. App connectivity is not the worst thing ever and you can update the firmware OTA after trying several times. This isn't the highest end dashcam, but it's good bang for the buck and most likely worth it for the price point.

Excellent video quality and packed with features

Outstanding camera! I wanted to try the newest model with starvis since I’ve been a longtime fan of Vantrue dashcams. It’s been more than I expected. The quality of video day and night is super clear and easy to see. Works incredibly well when there isn’t much light. The app seems to work very well and I’ve been able to download video clips right to my phone. You can even use voice control for some of the features. Probably one of the nicest features is the park mode. Doesn’t seem to matter where I park when I come out of a store someone is always next to my vehicle so this is nice to make sure no one opened their doors into my vehicle. I’ve got all 3 channels hooked up so I can see interior and rear as well. Sound can be turned off on the interior for privacy. At the price point this Vantrue has a lot of features that only more expensive cameras have. Very solid robust dash cam!

Amazing quality and durability. A must have in every vehicle!

I have been a loyal Vantrue customer for years, and the N4S continues to prove why this brand is one of the best purchases you can make for your vehicles.

The three-channel system is a amazing. Having high-quality coverage for the front, the cabin, and the rear provides all around video footage. I especially love the versatility of the rear unit; it can face the road or be rotated to monitor the interior, which is perfect for extra cabin oversight when needed.

The clarity of the footage is crystal clear, making it easy to capture license plates and fine details regardless of lighting. Additionally, the Wi-Fi makes the entire experience seamless. viewing and downloading clips directly to my phone via the app is fast and so convenient!

If you want a reliable, high-tech dash cam that covers every angle, the Vantrue N4S is the one to get. Highly recommended! Keep up with the great products Vantrue!

An Incredible Upgrade! Hands down the best 3-channel dashcam on the market.

I’ve been using dashcams for nearly 20 years and have gone through countless brands and models, so I’d like to think I know a thing or two about them.

In fact, I trust them so much that I've installed Vantrue cams in my wife's car (to keep my kids safe) and even recommended them to my close friends.

I recently sold my old car along with my trusty old-version N4 3CH, and upgraded to the new Vantrue N4S for my new vehicle. Comparing it to the older model, the improvements are massive:

1. App Integration

The lack of smartphone connectivity was the only downside of the older N4, even though it was the best 3CH cam available at the time. The new N4S completely solves this. Having dedicated App support to view and download recordings instantly on my phone is incredibly convenient.

2. Rock-Solid Mount

The older version used a suction cup mount that would occasionally fall off, which was a bit frustrating. The N4S fixes this by switching to a heavy-duty double-sided adhesive tape mount. It’s rock-solid and going nowhere. Plus, the ball joint for adjusting the angle is much thicker and sturdier now, making it highly reliable.

3. Upgraded IPS LCD Display

The screen is a huge step up. It features a larger, crisper, and noticeably clearer IPS display. It’s a premium touch that sets Vantrue apart from the competition.

4. STARVIS 2 CMOS Sensor (The Real Game-Changer)

This is by far the biggest highlight. The video clarity powered by the STARVIS 2 sensor is absolutely stunning. When I reviewed the footage after my first drive, I was genuinely blown away. (Check out my attached video to see just how incredibly sharp the quality is!)

I could not be happier with this upgraded model. It’s the perfect companion for my new car, and I know it’ll keep me satisfied for years to come. Highly recommended!

Great quality

Amazing Camera and Mic quality , use it as a dashcam in my C7 Vette

My third Vantrue dash cam and this is the best so far. The night vision is amazing and captures license plates on video easily. Just popped in a SD card and it records instantly with minimal setup. I also installed the app and the app functions flawlessly.

I have multiple vehicles so the included extra mounting posts really helped me out for swapping the camera between my cars which makes it a great value. The mic records very well too and you can hear the grunt of my C7 Corvette with EO X Pipes and Billy boat catback exhaust in the video as I beat a Tesla Y in a quick 0-60 in 3 something seconds run after he was egging me on (most Electric cars do that when they see a V8 muscle car roar down the street).

Anyways enjoy the video to see the quality of this dash cam (it’s really amazing !) , I was probably 3-4 car lengths infront of him by the time I hit 60mph. The camera was stayed and video/ mic was very clear . Kudos to Vantrue for an amazing design !

Great Upgrade for My Car

I recently installed the VANTRUE Nexus 4S dash cam in my car, and so far I’m honestly really impressed with it. The setup took a little time because I wanted the position to look clean and not block my view, but once everything was mounted, it looked very sleek and modern inside the car.

The video quality is very clear, even during the daytime with strong sunlight. I also like that the screen and menu feel pretty smooth and easy to use compared to some older dash cams I’ve tried before. The rotating camera design is convenient, and the build quality feels solid instead of cheap plastic.

One thing I appreciated was how compact it looks once installed near the windshield. It doesn’t feel bulky or distracting while driving. The suction mount also seems stable so far.

I’m still exploring all the features, but overall it gives me a lot more peace of mind while driving and parking. Definitely feels worth it if you want a dash cam that looks clean, records clearly, and feels more premium than basic models.

The advertised quality does not match reality

The advertised quality doesn't match reality. The ads show what the Ventrue is supposed to look like and how other cameras compare, but after testing the camera at night and providing a real photo of what it captured, I can say with certainty that this camera can't see anything at night—neither faces nor license plates!

I'm 100% Satisfied with this item!!! It works well, and it also works in parking mode!

After trying a few dash cams, I found this VANTRUE N4S the only one that can read the license plates at night when my car's headlights are on, when I'm close to the next car in front of me!

It works well, and it also works in parking mode!

I have it recorded for 24 hours with an OBD 2 wire I bought separately!

But remember that a 4 Channel is more important to have, for example, when someone gets your side mirror off and runs away! So you have his plates recorded for the Insurance report!

But I'm 100% Satisfied with this item!!!

And planning to buy the Vantrue 4 Channel.

I also found this useful because it includes the option to have it with a suction cup "brought separately" instead of the 3M sticker, as I'm renting cars for short terms!

And play around with the settings for the exposure numbers! at night and separately during the day!

And the HDR setting!

You will totally enjoy this item!

Perfect gift for peace of mind and easy setup!

I bought this dash cam for my mother-in-law. As she's getting older, I wanted something to keep an eye on her driving and this one was absolutely worth every penny.

First, I was genuinely surprised by how easy the setup was. I'm not a car person at all, and I was fully expecting a tangled mess of wires and a confusing manual but there was none of that. Everything just clicked into place intuitively. No expertise needed whatsoever.

As for the footage, the image quality is really sharp and the wide-angle coverage feels truly comprehensive. I now have eyes on all angles of her car, which gives me so much more peace of mind every time she's out on the road.

Highly recommend, especially as a thoughtful gift for elderly parents or family members!

Finally upgraded to a Vantrue Dual Dash Cam... honestly, my only regret is not getting it sooner!

📦 First Impressions

The build quality is premium. It doesn't have that cheap, plastic feel; it feels sturdy and well-made in your hand. Plus, the form factor is compact enough that it doesn't obstruct your view at all. 👍

🔧 Installation

I did the installation myself, and it was actually much easier than I expected! I just mounted it to the windshield and tucked the cables along the edges of the trim.

(Pro-tip: Mount it behind the rearview mirror—it’s basically invisible from the driver's seat.)

🎥 User Experience

• Dual Channels: Front and rear coverage provides a much fuller field of vision (which is honestly a game changer).

• Image Quality: Crystal clear resolution; I can easily read license plates day or night.

• Parking Mode: Total peace of mind. No more worrying about "hit-and-runs" or mysterious scratches while parked.

• Low Profile: Once it’s running, you barely even notice it’s there.

💡 Why I think it’s a must-have:

Driving in the US can be unpredictable, and having a dashcam equals an extra layer of protection and significantly less "he-said-she-said" drama if something happens.

It’s especially essential if you are:

👉 A new driver

👉 A frequent commuter or long-distance driver

👉 Often parking in crowded or complex environments

Good quality camera, easy to configure on the app, front camera a little bulky physically

I previously had the N2 Pro by Vantrue so that's my reference point. This N4S is a big upgrade. Starting off with the weight, it feels hefty. I hate when electronics feel like cheap plastic. This has some good weight to it. The response time on the built in screen as well as the app has significantly improved. Before, there was a 2-4 second delay when viewing the live screen, but now it's down to less than a second. It's almost instant. The menu and settings are better as well. My previous model, you could tell it was scripted by someone who didn't speak english natively, but this one made sense and was easy to configure it through the app. I was amazed by the picture quality. The rear camera was ok. It didn't impress me as much but I can't fault the camera for that. I have tinted windows and there are black horizontal lines on my back window (for heating or antenna?) so it obstructs the view a bit. The front camera on the N4S is bulkier than my N2 Pro, so don't buy this for a stealth build because you can tell right away. With the higher resolution and additional camera, it ate up my old 32gb memory card pretty quickly so I'll probably be upgrading that in the future. The auto save/lock sensitivity is pretty sensative. Even setting it to the max of 5, it still registered little bumps as accidents and would protecting the file. I ended up just turning it off since I didn't want it eating up my memory. Overall, I am impressed with the quality and ease of use of the camera.
