Very High Quality Drawing Tablet! 💻🖌️🖼️

(This review is for the Veikk Studio 16 Drawing Tablet with Screen.)

This Veikk Studio 16 drawing tablet is extremely impressive, and I'm so happy to have it! I'm not very good at drawing or artwork, but I really think it compares favorably with any other drawing tablet I've seen or tried. In the videos, you'll see that I'm not very good at control—this is entirely my lack of skill, and not the fault of the drawing tablet. 😉

The pressure sensitivity is responsive, consistent, accurate, and has a wide range of levels. You can tell while using it that it responds very quickly and neatly to different amounts of pressure. I also quite like that you can adjust the pressure curve easily in the app with a sort of bezier curve input. I found that I preferred a slightly different adjustment than the default pressure curve, and it made it easier for me to control the pressure. Between the settings and the range of sensitivity, I'm sure anyone would be able to make it respond as you would like.

The color of the display is also excellent. I tested it with a Spyder Pro monitor calibrator, and it scored 100% sRGB, 84% of NTSC, 89% of AdobeRGB, and 92% of P3 (pictures below). From a purely subjective view, it looks fantastic, with a clean matte display. There is no glare, and the resolution is more than adequate for the display.

In terms of technical compatibility, I tested it with both Windows 11 and Ubuntu, and it worked perfectly with both. I have no complaints. The driver was easy to get from their site, and it ran without any issues—basically plug and play. I tried out several options, such as remapping the side buttons and changing the pressure curve, and everything worked well. The driver seems bloat-free and to do everything you would want without much work.

Broadly, the display also feels smooth and protected, and it is easy to move over as you draw. In the box, there was a drawing glove that you can wear to make it easier to slide over the surface, but even without this, it's easy to move over the screen even if your hand is touching the tablet. It seems like it will be easy to keep clean, and it strikes me as durably made.

The side buttons are intuitive, easy to press, and work perfectly. It's great to be able to quickly zoom in, undo, drag the canvas, and switch tools. The pens also have two buttons on them, by the way, which also work well for the same basic functions. I did not test the stand much, but the pen holder and other accessories worked well. I used the 3-in-1 USB cable, but I am glad that they included several different options.

Prior to this, I have only personally owned a Monoprice 10594. The Monoprice was a much more basic drawing tablet with no screen and a battery-powered pen. It worked well and had a good deal of precision, but it is nothing compared to this Veikk Studio 16 tablet. I'm really glad to have upgraded to the Veikk, and I look forward to playing around more with art and drawing!

Great tablet!

I've been using this tablet for a little bit now and I am extremely impressed! It's a tad smaller than my old 21 inch screen tablet but I'm really growing to like the smaller size. Everything is easier to reach and I find the clarity of the screen to be a bit sharper as well.

Setting up the tablet was a breeze. After plugging things in I downloaded the drivers off the website and had it running in less than 5 minutes. Tweaking stuff via the drivers is easy and well explained. Only thing I tweaked was the color temperature to match that of my other screens but other than that everything was great out of the box.

The tablet comes with a pen that doesn't require charging. It's rubberized and feels sturdy. The buttons on the side are extremely positive with a satisfying click. It also comes with a bunch of extra nibs and a nib tool all in a nice handy case that you can store the pen in if you choose to do so.

The screen is a nice 1920x1080 and looks sharp. Colors really seem to pop, moreso than any other screen I've used. It's also got a semi matte finish to it that gives a little bit of resistance to the pen which really improves the drawing experience. There's very little distance between the drawing surface and the actual screen which really improves accuracy of the pen.

The tablet also comes with 8 customizable buttons on the side. One button being a scroll wheel with a very nice click to it when you turn it. The buttons themselves have a slight rubber feel to them to give a softer feel to them. The scroll wheel is very versatile as you can click it to change between customizable hotkeys. Really nice for changing brush sizes or between layers. On the opposite side you've got the built in pen holder which makes keeping track of the pen much easier.

The stand in back seem really solid. I'm left handed so in order to use the side buttons I had to turn the tablet upside down but the stand seems like it was made for this as it works just fine like this. The driver software even allows you to rotate the display to the correct orientation.

Overall I'm extremely happy with this tablet. It's got a lot of features for the price I paid and I can feel like it's gonna last me quite a while!

A strong budget graphics display tablet for intermediate artists.

Pros:

------

+Best built-in tablet pen storage solution I’ve seen thus far.

+Excellent tablet responsiveness for drawing, 3D sculpting and modeling.

+Has the current industry standard of 8192 pressure levels.

+Comes with adapters to hook this tablet up to your computer for both Mac and PC.

+Scroll wheel and physical hotkeys are a big improvement over competing tablet hotkeys in terms of comfort (in my opinion).

+Small and easy enough to relocate on your desk with little hassle.

+Sturdy chassis despite having a plastic exterior and surprisingly light and easy to handle.

Cons:

-------

-The pen is a little too lightweight and small for my tastes.

-The drivers function well, but the interface is not as and polished as competing tablet drivers out there. There are a handful of translation and UI slip-ups. It's still readable though.

-Firm tablet pen nibs can make a loud squeak sound as it slips across the screen.

-Lacks some color choices and customization options for this tablet.

Summary:

-----

The VK1560 is lighter than you would expect. Despite this, it feels sturdy and does not rock around while the tablet’s stand is deployed. In terms of portability, it is easy to move around your apartment between desks and rooms but it’s not quite something you would carry around in your backpack. When it comes to the hotkeys and scroll wheel, they feel very comfortable under my fingers as I operate them. The physical hotkeys are physically soft while spinning the express wheel softly clicks in a satisfying way, almost like a mouse's scrolling wheel. Regardless of the angle of the tablet stand, I don't notice much of a glare on the screen when I am working. But I also have to mention that I’m not usually working in abnormally bright conditions. Lastly, the pen glides smoothly across the tablet’s surface, which makes sense because the surface has a glassy, smooth texture. This makes for smooth and quiet drawing.

The provided pen has roughly the same dimensions of a typical ballpoint pen. Because of this, it may be a little too thin for some people to use for long periods of time or for those who have large hands. VEIKK supplied 10 nibs-- half of those were made from a softer rubbery material and the other half from a harder, standard plastic material. For those that were looking to mount this tablet on a VESA stand, you'll be a bit disappointed but the tablet in my opinion is not big enough to justify the stand. The provided attached stand is good enough as-is.

Overall, I believe the VEIKK VK1560 is an incredibly strong choice for those that need a medium-large sized screen graphic tablet that has a small desk footprint. With a cheap competitive price, I readily recommend it for intermediate tablet users and those that are serious about investing in a digital tablet. For those that are just starting out, I would recommend the VEIKK A30 or the A15 products as a close second choice.

Amazing tablet for an amazing price

As someone who has two other Veikk products, they were the first ones I looked to when I was looking into a drawing monitor. The reviews were favorable, the price was right, and the more I looked into it the more it seemed like the right one to me. It's size was either the largest, or matching with the largest similarly priced models out there, had a nice number of shortcut buttons, and even a scroll wheel. Owning two other Veikk products I expected much the same from the VK1560 as I got from the A50 and A30, tablet, pen, and cable. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the tablet also came with an anti-fouling glove, a hard case for the pen and the extra pen nubs, a cleaning cloth, and a mini display port to HDMI cable. The tablet itself was sturdily built, has a pretty crisp 1080p display, well built and comfortable matte buttons, and a nice place to place the pen, something I am grateful for as I often ended up misplacing the pens from the A50 and A30 even when in their sleeves. Setting it up was pretty simple, familiar shortcuts set to the left, zoom and rotate set to my dial, easily switched over with a swift press of the button. Once it was all plugged in I was up and running within 5 minutes. For the price, I doubt there's a better tablet on the market. I wholly recommend this tablet for anyone looking into an affordable drawing monitor.

Wonderful Tablet but Deffective

I ordered this tablet just a few days ago and received it yesterday. I love the look and feel of it and how easy it is to use but, unfortunately, after only a few hours of use, the screen started glitching. The top of the screen appeared at the bottom and vice versa. It hasn't shut off completely but it leaves me with a bad feeling. I know issues like this only get worse and for a $349.99 tablet, it's not something I'm sure I want to put up with.

The glitching doesn't last too long and there's a chance that it's faulty cables causing the issue but the glitching continues after so long of being "fixed". I fiddle with the cords and it'll stop for a few minutes but then my screen starts glitching out again. As someone who draws quite frequently, the last thing I want is for a big investment like this (for someone who works part-time like myself) to crash and burn.

This purchase was a big risk for me. I was recently in an accident where I was riding my bike and I was hit by an uninsured driver while I was heading to work so now I have to deal with taking this person to court. I spent this money because I just wanted something nice for myself after dealing with the incident but this glitch has me unnerved. This type of defect will only get worse over time.

I'm leaving the rating at two stars rather than one because I do like the tablet and how it's set up, but because the screen flickers in and out every couple of minutes, I'm not sure how this will work. I haven't seen this specific complaint around about the Veikk VK1560, so I'm guessing there's a chance that it's a defect solely with the item I purchased and it isn't common. I'm hoping I can work something out with the sellers. If I manage to find a solution with them, I will change the review but until then it remains.

[UPDATE: July 30th, 2019]

Now not only is the screen glitching and I haven't yet heard back from the seller, but my preset buttons also aren't responding properly. I'm hoping this is an issue that can be fixed as the buttons and wheel were the only reasons I've still kept ahold of this tablet. Here's hoping someone is willing to help me.

[EDIT: Same day as above.]

I am mistaken. They have contacted me, I just missed it! My mistake!

[EDIT: August 17th, 2019]

Support has attempted to help me but it does seem to be a hardware issue so they're sending me a replacement. I'm hopeful that this next one won't have the same issues. I'll update once I get this next tablet! However, have a video in the meantime.

A very high quality tablet for a lower-than-market price.

This is a very nice screen tablet, for a lower-than usual price for something like this!

The tablet came with all of the necessary cords: a power cord, an HDMI cable, and a USB cable. It also came with a very helpful HDMI to mini port connector, for users on Mac computers or people with computers that don't have HDMI cables. It was very thoughtful and useful!

The tablet driver for this tablet is the same as the one for other VEIKK tablets, so if you have already had a VEIKK tablet, you don't need to install a new driver. But be sure to uninstall any drivers from tablets of other brands before you use it!

The tablet is very responsive- it was easy to calibrate and program the buttons. It's very comfortable to work with. The stand on the back is adjustable, allowing you to draw at different angles, which is nice.

The pen pressure is phenomenal- once I had the tablet set up, drawing was easy. It is very fun and responsive, sketching, lining, and painting on it all feel natural and smooth. The screen is very bright, and the colors are beautiful- very true to life for art.

I would recommend this for a professional artist, someone who is comfortable drawing digitally and wants the benefits of being able to see what they are drawing directly under their hands.

Great Quality

"The packaging of the tablet was easy to open which i truly enjoyed since i sometimes have trouble opening boxes. And after opening the box, everything was so well organized, the tablet coming with a protective screen layer so it didnt get scratches while being shipped. Setting up was a breeze too, also something i thought was nice of them is that it included an hdmi adapter for macbooks which is really handy for those with one. The tablet is really good quality, with a pen holder built into the tablet that still manages to make it look sleek. The buttons on the side also help a lot for shortcuts, both on the pen and the tablet. Lastly, the tablets menu is so easy to customize, for example:(brightness, saturation and more) to fit your likeness. Actually one more thing! The driver, being easy to install you can set-up both your pen and tablets hotkeys which is pretty neat if you use different paint programs. Overall, for its price i enjoyed this tablet more than i thought i would and is something beginner's should look at if they're on a budget."

Super great and affordable!

I really enjoy how this tablet works and runs! I also enjoy how simple it is to set up and connect to my laptop! Overall, I really love how I can see what I'm drawing along with the buttons on the side of the screen that allow for easy drawing. I think the pen might be slightly off center when you press and draw, but that could be from something I did when I calibrated it! I am definitely going to use this tablet in the future as it is very smooth and can keep up easily while I draw. Plus, it is super affordable for such a high quality tablet! Love it!

AP

An amazing tablet for an unbeatable price!

This VEIKK drawing tablet is essentially on par with a cintiq in my opinion, but at a MUCH more affordable cost!

Included:

-the drawing tablet with attached adjustable stand

-a drawing & smudge-free glove

-screen cleaning cloth

-battery-free drawing pen

-nib remover ring

-extra nibs

-a drawing pen case that holds the nibs, nib remover ring, and drawing pen for portability

-screen protector already applied, just needs a peel

-hdmi cord

-usb cord

-power adapter & cord

-mini display to HDMI adapter

-quick start guide

-driver software download card

Set Up:

Super easy to set up and quickly get drawing! All you have to do is download the appropriate driver software for your computer, install and plug everything into the right spots! If it doesn’t turn on automatically, there’s a small power button on the back.

Review:

I really love the quantity and quality of everything I’m getting from this buy! You get so much for the price and I’d argue even more than what comes with a cintiq and they’ve even thought ahead with the hdmi adapter! The set up was super easy I was really surprised! I’m a hobby-level novice at drawing digitally, so I expected a bit of a challenge, especially with my Mac, but, thankfully, that wasn’t the case at all! It’s really lightweight and the adjustable stand is a lifesaver! I would say that the stand is probably my favorite part! Most tablets don’t come with one, so that’s usually an additional purchase (and usually takes up more space on the desk); However, because this comes with one it really saves money and is super convenient! It’s really great to be able to adjust to whatever level is comfortable for wherever you’re sitting. Mine is usually sitting around a 45 degree angle and I find that’s the most comfortable spot for my eyes and wrist as I draw! The hotkeys on the side are super helpful with any drawing program and it’s really easy to change the settings on them. The dial makes it super convenient to change brush/tool size in any art program and I also loved how easy it was to calibrate the pen and screen so that there wasn’t any offset!

Overall, really amazing product for the price and I’m so glad I finally have a drawing tablet that doesn’t break the bank!

Great Bang for the Price ---- VEIKK VK1560 15.6 inch Drawing Tablet with Screen IPS Drawing Monitor

I recently got the VEIKK VK1560. To start, it is an amazing tablet! I would recommend this tablet to anyone at all! The tablet is easy to set up and is compatible with practically every computer and program, but if you don't have an HDMI port on your computer, than you will have to buy an adapter. On the other hand if you have a display port it will work just fine. Here is an overview of what comes in the box:

-The tablet with a protective film, and adjustable stand

-The pen case, which includes extra nibs, hard and soft, the pen, and a nib remover

-All the cables you will need to plug into the tablet

-A cleaning cloth

-A drawing glove

The tablet itself has 7 express keys and a scroll wheel, and the pen has 2 express keys. The tablet is HD and has extremely little to no latency with the pen. I find the tablet extremely easy to work with. The tablet is basically a monitor that you are able to draw on, and it can have it's own desktop, or be a mirror screen. If you mirror screen you might not get a HD quality if your computer isn't HD, but if you make it it's own desktop the tablet will always be HD. Another cool feature is how the tablet has a pen mold built into it, to hold your pen. I find it extremely helpful when trying to find a place to put my pen. Overall, I would totally recommend this tablet to anyone in need of a display tablet. I find this tablet to be the best price and quality. If you want to see an overview of this tablet please watch the linked video.

Perfect size!

This tablet was a great size. I liked that it came with A LOT of packaging because then I knew it was safe. the Express keys are easy to press, but it won't be accidentally pressed by just resting your hand on it. I absolutely LOVE the pen indentation on the side, it really sets the vk1560 apart from its competitors, and it makes so I don't waste a lot of time looking for my pen all the time

Even though there are plenty of cords, none of them really get in the way that much. the tablet is Pretty sturdy, so I never feel like I will break it. the pen glides seamlessly over the screen and it feels fantastically satisfying. the glove is elastic around the wrist so it feels secure and comfortable. the cloth does its job as it supposed too, it cleans the screen.

As for little things that I like, there is a little light in the bottom right corner of the tablet that has different colors that indicate if it is off, or asleep, etc. The stand is simple and easy to use. and I can finally feel like a professional because my set up looks that way.

(I have a video attached to this review as well as a picture of the tablet and the first picture I drew with this tablet.)

Large, Comfortable display tablet with a lot of options and HD resolution.

The VEIKK 1560 display tablet is full of features that I generally only find on much more expensive displays.

I really am impressed with all you get for the money that you spend.

You get a very large screen size, with working area, which allows me to use all my painter controls in one screen.

You can easily adjust the angle of the device to fit however you work most comfortably. It was also great that they pre-installed a screen protector onto the tablet. I personally hate spending hours trying to get bubbles out of those, so that was a really nice bonus!

As you can see from my video review, one of the most powerful features of this tablet is that the custom hot keys really allow you to program them for any key-sets you want. My more expensive tablet cannot do this, in general if I want to use a special key I have to assign additional keystrokes. This lets me freely customize the hotkeys to whatever I want.

The dial system is also more responsive than my more expensive tablets. The brush size can be adjusted quickly, and accurately. The really neat thing here is that you can actually hot switch what the dial does. So mine is currently set for brushes, zooms and nudging. You can set all of these in the mapping program.

I think one of the things that also sets this tablet aside form the competitors is that with the stylus they have included not only spare nibs, but they have included different textures of nibs. The different textures allow you to really fine tune the feel you want to work with. The more rubber nib will give you a very close to paper feel, whilst the harder nib will be like using other digital tablets.

Overall I am very impressed with this display tablet. It has a full HD resolution and good color. If you have been wanting to get into digital art or illustration, and need a display tablet, it would be hard to find a better value tablet. Also the VEIKK has so many features, that this will last you a long time.

A wonderful display, highly recommended!

First things first; I'm not really tech-savvy, so this isn't a purely technical look at the product. I've just had extensive experience with various tablets over the years, so I'm going off of that. The size of the screen is perfect. Not too big, not too small. If anything, it just seems a little too wide, but having the pen holder on the right side balances things out. The express keys are on the left like most tablets, but they're really nice and easy to set up, unlike wacom, honestly. I don't even use express keys that often, but the center ring is amazing because it has "clicks" that help with precision.

Now, to get a little more technical, I'll talk about how certain art programs interact with it and how it functions on different operating systems. Like i said, I'm not a tech genius or anything like that, but I have had a lot of experience installing and using pen tablets. I've tried the Veikk 1560 on my macbook and my husband's dell laptop, and I find it's easier to install and set up on a windows machine. When I tested Clip Studio paint it resulted in these really odd brush effects I unfortunately didn't record. However, I worked with some support and reisntalled the drivers, and it was working just fine after that! Other programs like Medibang Paint pro worked really well and I was really impressed. I tried a little bit of photoshop and some autodesk. I personally don't like photoshop for drawing, so i can't speak to how accurate this tablet is for it, but autodesk works just fine, and I'd guess photoshop would be normal if I were more used to it.

Now there is one thing I have heard people complain about is the included pen, but I personally didn't have an issue with it. It's really light so that throws some people off, but I loved it. It doesn't require battery which is a big deal for me, but it also doesn't have eraser functionality, which I know would put some people off. Like I said though, I think it's a great pen overall. My only complaint, really is that there's no way to connect it to a tablet arm without modifying it. The stand works very well, but I'd like to have the option is all.

All in all, I'd say that this is an excellent starter tablet for anyone who wants to get serious about digital art. It's pretty easy to set up, even on a mac. It works great with most art programs, with a very rare hiccup in some occasions. It's an amazing size and it's really affordable for a tablet of this quality. It's a pretty great tablet all around, really.

Great product!

Awesome tablet! I’m very happy with my purchase and it does absolutely everything I need it to.

#WAVSIII

Impressive For A Left Hander. But...

[UPDATE 10 JAN 2020] - ( After 4hrs or so of use, the rubberized nibs has a tendency of breaking off regardless of how light the user's applied pressure. I have been scared of marking my screen, yet, the nib is a great feel but it breaks. I have even purchased more & still they break. Other then that, has no lag, no parallax. Again, the rubberized nibs do break.)

As if was drawing/painting on acetate. Love it, the weight of the stylus pen is the weight of a No. 2 pencil or even a BIC Pen. Felt like them ole high school days of sketching away in your notebook. When it comes to painting, drawing I use my left hand. I was able to flip the tablet screen, flip the display orientation for my Veikk to be used left handed to my desire preference with the buttons on the right. Colors, definitions were awesome from the start. No lag, nor issues while tapping. I am running with a 750Ti NVIDIA 2GBs graphics card along with a 24GBs RAMMs. HP. Win 10. Yes, no more Wacom Intuos 5 for me, I am so done with them. Krita does works well. Again, it is like working with acetate, like cartoon cells, or even painting/drawing on glass... Lithograph in my opinion. Again, do your research on what your computer can handle, this is by far the best of the best out there, especially beyond better than the recent Wacom 16. By: Wm. Alex Vargas III

great value!

This is a suprisingly slim / light tablet for what it can do.

I love that there are hotkeys on the side, my previous tablet did not have any and it was a major drawback in my workflow.

installing was straightforward, plug in the USB and HDMI cords, then goto the website and download the drive software, then you are ready to draw!

I found the pen holder on the front of the screen itself to be interesting! I constantly lose my pens, so this may help me keep it in one spot.

The stand itself is great, you can adjust it to many angles!

The screen is clear and crisp, and colors seem to show up great!

comes with a free drawing glove, and cleaning cloth.

I used this product with Paint Tool Sai, Photoshop, and Clip Studio Paint, and the pressure responds well in all of them.

The pen itself is a little on the lighter side, but thankfully it does not require charging!

All the cords you will need to use it are all included in the box, so its mostly just plug and play!

Great value for the price!

Great Tablet: Very light and compact

This tablet is super light and was easy to set up. I was so excited to try it out, and I was happy with the results!

With the tablet being such light weight, I found I couldn't put too much pressure on it with out it sliding, which was fine as not a lot of pressure is needed for the tablet to register the pen. The screen itself is great and HD, my drawings really seemed to pop when I was finished, and my friends loved it as well!

The pen glides across the screen easily so you can be precise with your strokes. It has a very solid weight to it, and fit nicely in my hand too. The pen was very comfortable as well, I have arthritis and I could see myself spending a lot of time on a piece and not be in pain afterwards. The shortcut buttons make it incredibly easy to shift through different settings making complex drawings easier than ever!

I've had it for a few weeks and I can't imagine switching back to my old drawing monitor. I really like this tablet, it's perfect for my needs and I love that is small enough to store in my desk, and ready for me to use when I'm feeling creative! If I had to recommend a tablet, it would be this one!

Vincent

Unbelievable value for the price.

First off I've gotta say WOW! How is it that this drawing monitor is at this price point?

For background I am not a professional definitely at a hobbyist level. I've used a number of drawing tablets and monitors including Wacom Intuos / Huion KAMVAS GT-221 Pro / Ugee 1910B / and a few various others.

I am really impressed by this drawing monitor and was a little skeptical because I've never heard of the brand but it is really an excellent buy.

-The Unboxing-

Very simple exterior packaging nothing flashy but very thoughtful the items included and packaging.

Included was;

-Pen / nibs / nib remover (in a nice foam lined plastic case)

-hdmi cable

-usb cable

-power adapter and cable

-two finger drawing glove

-screen cleaning cloth

-Mini display to HDMI adapter (wow!? how thoughtful is it to include this? many ultrabooks / laptops will need this)

-The Installation-

Crazy easy installation. Just make sure you uninstall any other tablet drivers. Quick download from the website listed 2 places on the included paper works. Works perfectly after install. It is easily configurable if you want to change the button functions / adjust pressure curve / calibrate (was well calibrated for me out of the box but i ran through the calibration anyways very simple)

-The Experience-

The Monitor; Brightness and color were not noticeably different from my desktop monitor. During use the work area of the screen stays cool. There is a line along the top of the monitor that gets rather warm, not uncomfortable just warm. There is a factory installed screen protector (other than the protective film you peel off after opening) it is probably best described as a satin finish. (below that is the glass of the monitor and that is high gloss). The adjustment for the stand is very easy and familiar to use though the monitor is very light and comfortable enough to have in your lap (how i use it) Buttons and everything else have a good quality feel to it. (nothing loose or hallow feeling) There is one draw back. the stand is not removable and you cannot mount this on one of those handy articulating swing arm monitor mounts.

The Pen; Really good solid feel to it though it is very light. Glides very nicely over the factory installed screen protector on the monitor no hangups not squeaks (something I've found on other similarly priced tablets / monitors). Pressure sensitivity is very responsive. I am a little light handed so i adjusted the curve in the pen's settings to make it more comfortable for how i work. Love the pen holder that it built into the monitor.

Comments; Used it without any hiccups on Photoshop / Krita / Blender. The dial / button is very similar to wacom and its super super useful. Honestly this is a great product well above my expectations at the price point. Don't know what else to say. If you are looking for a great drawing monitor priced well below what it should be give this a try.
