Great for backyard practice, but the pitching machine opening needs improvement

We’ve loved having this batting cage in our backyard! My kids wake up every morning before school and go outside to practice on their own. Seeing them enjoy it so much has made this purchase worthwhile, and it’s been a great addition to their training.

Assembly is definitely challenging. Plan on having at least four people to help, it’s not an easy setup. Once assembled, though, ours has held up well, even through the strong winds we get here in Las Vegas.

My only complaint is the opening for the pitching machine. It’s too small to get the balls through consistently. Despite many attempts to adjust the machine’s position and alignment, only the occasional ball makes it through the opening. A larger opening would make it much more practical for pitching machine use.

Overall, we’re very happy with the cage and how much our kids use it. I just wish the pitching machine opening worked better.

Used is Not Useable

I bought this “Used-Like New” for like a $10 discount but unfortunately it was not only damaged but also parts have been swapped or are missing. And there’s no instructions. It’s easy enough to figure out how to put it together since everything really only goes 1 way. There are supposed to be 3 double ends and there’s only two, an extra single end which is not needed, and one of the double end buttons is broken. So I cannot physically assemble this which is such a pain because this weighs so much and is such a large package to return.

An absolute steal! Wish the delivery hole was a tad bigger. But i can pitch to my kids and I can have a machine also. But either way. My 8 and 13 year old both got major use out of it. Whether its with a tee or overhand. For the price. Its worth it

Develops holes after few weeks.

We have had the cage up for 3 weeks now and it is starting to develop multiple holes that are in exactly the spots where ball hits the net when batting. This means that balls fly out in with increasing frequency. In my neighborhood that makes the cage unusable.

Cage was initially ok once assembled, but assembly is not easy by any means. Instructions could better identify various parts of the net and indicate how the harness is arranged when attaching poles to the net. Instructions suggest disassembling the cage before rain, but this is not really possible as it takes several people and an hour to disassemble and then assemble again.

Nice idea but bad materials make this disposable after a month of use.

Poor quality，don’t buy

Really poor quality, the net was broken after few time uses. Strongly not recommend!

Get this batting cage!!

Very sturdy! Easy to put together, my son loves it! It’s perfect for him. The perfect size as well!

Broke on first use, company doesn't stand behind product

Net started tearing on first use. Contacted company and the best offer was a 1/2 refund and I fix it myself or package everything up and ship it back and once received they would ship another. Provided pictures to the company as proof.

The design of the cage is great with a zip up entry, but the quality is so bad I can't leave more than one star

Poor quality

Netting ripped after few uses , frayed easily

Horrible product

Product is cheap made. Net didn't last even one day. My son almost broke a window because the net ripped. Not easy to set up. The post that go into ground or cheap and need to be thicker. Would never buy again from this company.

Stops hockey pucks also

First, this does far better at stopping hockey pucks than I thought it would. I knew it would stop our errant shots or shots deflected off of the goal but I didn't expect much from low errant shots. I expected that the pucks would leave the net readily when hit really low... but they don't. When the puck hits the net it tugs just a little bit on all directions and dissipates the energy really well. I've had a few pucks end up about a foot outside the net as the net sometimes lifts just enough to dump it outside as it absorbs the hit but that's all. No damage done to the house or shed as all velocity is removed.

Set up went fairly decent but any loose thing on the ground, sticks for example, will immediately get tangled into the netting substantially as will the connections on the rods... so clear the area first. It will save a lot of aggravation. My only complaint is that the pin on the ends of the net that you push into the rods pop out on their own far too easily. The pin is probably 1/8" thick while the end of the rod that you push the pin into is probably 5/16" or so. Because the rod is under tension the pin pulls to the side... and then pops out. This happened probably six or so times during set up and if the net caught slightly on the rod sleeves or a stick the pin would pop out immediately. I'd love to see the pin set up changed or to include an insert in the ends of the rods that matches the pin size.

While this works great for protecting the house from pucks, we ultimately decided the one we ordered (12 ft) wouldn't work for us for hockey due to the size. We need far more room. We need to take shots from significantly longer distances... but this will work great for baseball.

As a side note, we're considering ordering the 40' version for hockey. While it also is only 12' wide which means you're only hitting pucks from the front of the goal, we realized we can just rotate the goal to get the angles that we want.

Great cage for the price.

Pretty cool net. Nice price. I would have given it 5 stars but it will not stand on it's own as implied. I bought it for my softball team to use in the gym on rainy days. We managed to tie it to the bleachers and used a couple of the girls softball bags on the other side. Other than that very nice.

Very good for the price

Great quality, strong materials, and fairly easy to put up. After installing. I realized it needed more tiedowns. If it wasn’t for that, this would have received five stars.

Anybody purchasing this make sure you get more tiedown strings. Not only does it make it more stable you’re able to keep it from drooping.
