EXTRAordinary little whiteboard!

Another excellent tool for my work from home office. Very pleased with this sleek, very thoughtful quality product. Easy instructions to follow. You’ll just need a phillips screwdriver. I also appreciate the grooves at the top to place your dry erase markers. Thinking of also using this during the holidays to play Pictionary. Now that sounds like fun!

Quality glass. Consumes desk real-estate.

Included screws didn’t fit, too big. Would have cracked the plastic if forced them even harder. So I changed out the screws and assembled.

The glass has some weight to it. It’s a nice piece. The plastic frame, well, it’s a plastic frame. Solid. Sturdy.

It’s a useful desk and task tool. However, big markers, like the Quartet markers I use, don’t take advantage of all the writing space. Writing smaller with them only blurs the letters together. Ideally, a more pen-like, thin marker that writes smaller can convey more information and would take full advantage of the board’s purpose and size. Doesn’t come with markers, in case none on hand.

Writes well. Glass reflects shadows in 2D. Used to white boards where no shadows appear.

Using a microfiber cloth to wipe clean. More work to clean than a whiteboard. Erasure will easily wipe a whiteboard clean, but doesn’t work nearly as well with the glass board. Takes some muscle when the ink has dried.

My calculation is that a microfiber cloth will be gentler on the glass surface over time than repeatedly pressing down hard across the surface a big erasure. The friction can be heard when the erasure moves across the glass. Friction on glass will not be preserving. Kleenex and paper towels will also cause micro-scratches on glass surfaces, including eyeglasses, and the like.

The biggest thing for me is the size. This takes up some serious desk real-estate. It becomes a focal point. I didn’t want it to be a focal point. I want it to be a quick point-of-reference device. Small desk set-ups will struggle finding a home for this board.

Perfect desktop whiteboard

This has been really handy to jot things down during the day instead of using post-its. I work from home and use it during my work day. It does require minimal assembly and a Phillips screwdriver. And it doesn't come with a marker/eraser but I have a lot of them already so that wasn't an issue for me. I like that it's actually glass and it has a ledge at the top to keep markers within reach. It's also at a great angle for keeping behind my keyboard, but doesn't interfere with the view of my monitors at all.

Shadowy

The Vivo glass whiteboard is a handy way to take notes while using my desktop. It’s a large surface which might be intimidating on some desks but, since I have an undermount keyboard, it sits perfectly. The height and angle are just right, too. The top hits just at the bottom edge of my 26 in monitor; doesn’t obscure anything. The angle is comfortable for writing and reading notes.

My only objection is that it is glass. When I ordered it, glass seemed a nice idea but when I write on it, the colors from the markers are lighter than they are on an actual whiteboard and everything I write has a shadow on one of the lower layers showing through. Neither is a big problem; just something to get used to.

It flopped around a lot while I put it together. Weighting it down with the screwdriver held it upright while I applied the adhesive. It does not come with markers or an eraser, but I had some on hand. It does not clean well with an eraser. I needed to grab some window cleaner to get it really clean. An eraser is sufficient but seems to leave residue behind that can build up. Again, not a big problem.

The space for storage beneath it is there but its too easy for small things to slide back and you’d have to move the board to get what you were trying to reach under there. The nicest thing, though, about this board is that it really cleaned up my desk. I can stop with the scraps of papers and post-it notes. Reminders are right there in front of me.
