Nice product. Product is easy to use however directions were needed get product up and running. I feel that product should have come with an extension arm instead of having us purchase after the fact. The battery life is very good (30 hours). Picture quality is also clear and product stays connected to internet solidly.

I was sent a 5" monitor without WiFi in the 7" WiFi capable box. Not sure if it came from VTech that way or if someone pulled a fast one on a previous return. Needless to say, no wifi is useless to me and I had to return it.
This will be my 3rd monitor from VTech, their software updates bricked my last one which was a warranty replacement of my first. I'm used to them so I like them but it's definitely possible other brands are more durable.

this product stopped working after a year. the first year it was good. I love the screen but the battery on the unit doesn’t even last 5 minutes anymore. and it constantly is saying it’s not connected and I have to go unplug the monitor and plug it back it back in to have it only work for an hour before it freezes the pictures and noise stops working or it says it’s not connected anymore. very frustrating.

I got this to replace a different monitor and I’m not super impressed with it. The battery doesn’t hold and it basically needs to be plugged in all the time. The volume is TERRIBLE. I usually hear my baby crying from downstairs before the monitor picks up his cry and then when it does I can barely hear him. I’ve actually slept through it overnight (luckily my husband heard our son).
Only plus for this one is the large monitor and the picture is pretty clear but I wish I would have gotten something else.

The VTech Smart WiFi 7” HD Display Video Baby Monitor does the trick — the picture is clear, and it’s very easy to use. I really like the mounting options for both the bassinet and crib. One of my favorite features is that the screen can go back to black once your baby settles or falls asleep, so the room isn’t constantly lit by the monitor, which definitely helps with sleep.

I upgraded from my single cam VTECH setup to this dual cam one when I had my second baby. I love that I can use either the handheld monitor or my phone, and switch between direct connection or WiFi as desired. Picture quality is great, settings for the app and the handheld are great. Setup is really straightforward.
The only hiccup I’ve ever come across is just needing to power cycle the cameras sometimes as they’ll disconnect via WiFi sometimes.
Photos reflect picture quality seen in-app. Camera is roughly 3ft above the top of the crib and bassinet, mounted to the wall.

We had a Vtech monito before but a cheaper version that after 2 months no longer held a charge. We dealt with that for over a year and decided to geta new one when we got our little man in his new room. The thing does work and has a pretty good zoom function and can move around the room pretty well besides it being slow and delayed. The kickstand on the back only works on flat surface and really needs to be redone when they make changes to the next version of the monitor. VTech if your listening, please address this for future designs. The stand needs to be wider, look at the difference in a Switch and a new Switch 2 on how the bar goes from one end to the other for more balanced support. The camera couldn't scan my phone to link to it so we can't use our phones to see him and the camera is very pixilated which may be why we couldn't scan the QR code which is the only way to link to it. The zoom function just makes the pixels more noticeable so hard to take cute pictures or videos of what he's going on the monitor. Who knows maybe I just got a bad one but I think these are made somewhat cheaply. The battery life on the monitor is probably half that is marketed so maybe they have the time if you black out the screen and turn off the noise and what's the point in telling me the battery life of that. Still it's a pretty good device just cause you can hear somewhat well, it's not too loud so I wish it could go up a little louder in case your outside or something. The brightness is fine. It wasn't hard to set up. I wish it was better but also don't know if a product is out there that is going to be this clear for this price. Shop around more and maybe watch some YouTube videos and don't just get the first products you see from VTech

Do not get me wrong this thing has an amazing camera quality however, it’s not very loud & it’s stuck in night vision, & the buttons do not adjust the camera at all. The camera to monitor does it no justice on how clear the picture is. But it should not be advertised as a color camera/monitor. & it shouldn’t be listed as being controlled via monitor if it cannot. The picture quality is the ONLY reason I have it an extra star

Our camera and monitor stopped connecting after 3 months of use. Submitted a form with vtech customer service and then got an email that they would get back to me in 2 business days. I have not been contacted since and that was 24 days ago. Will be purchasing a replacement from a different company

Camera view (night time) is not great but you can see and monitor the baby enough to tell what is going on. Have my camera about 5 feet above the bed. Also have a night light in room about 3 feet from head of bed. Biggest problem I have with the unit is the battery life, it really wears down fast and then the charge doesn’t last through out the night. Average battery life is about 5-6 hours once you take it off charge/AC line. No problem with battery life if you don’t have to take it off the AC power.

Update: to be fair this product has worked great for us since we’ve been using since November but the handheld monitor broke on us and we haven’t even had it a year. It just won’t turn on anymore even after leaving it to charge. I’ve reached out to customer service hoping they resolve it quickly.
Well to be fair we’ve only had this for a day— I will update this review if things change. We have a nanit but are expecting number 2 in a couple months. Did not want to pay that price tag but like the capability of Wi-Fi when we’re away.
This unit went in my sons room and we’ll use the nanit in the baby’s room. Very easy to set up with WiFi and create an account with the app. Has all the same features I need, like two way talk, night vision, notifications for sound and movement. Overall I’m very impressed with the quality and functionality thus far!

Third baby and my angel care monitor stopped functioning. I had ordered a direct from the company v tech monitor that had a huge screen but never stayed connected to the cameras.
This monitor is great, good picture quality the sound is great on it. The camera itself was easy to assemble and place and setting it up was a breeze. I will say the downside to this monitor is the size of the screen, it is small. The "stand" that it is supposed to sit upright with is just a bump out from the monitor and does not work well. What matters is that it's a video monitor and it's sound is clear and it's picture is clear. For the price it's worth it.

We really like this system for three reasons: it has both wi-fi and direct connection, which is helpful when wi-fi invariably goes out; video can be watched on the baby monitor and on our multiple cell phones; it has useful features like night vision, music/white noise and a microphone. We bought some clips with flexible goosenecks to make the cameras more mobile and attach them to the SNOO, our rolling bassinet, or wherever. Super easy to use.

I like the double feature of being able to connect to wifi and disconnect from Wifi. You can use both the parent unit and your phone when connected to Wifi but you can only use the parent unit when disconnected from wifi which is still a bonus for me!

This baby monitor worked great and we loved it for about 4 months. Now the video screen is super jumpy and won’t turn on. I’ve tried restarting it several times and have even pushed the reset button on the back. Still won’t work. So we paid to be able to see our baby for about 3 months clearly. Now I’m considering having to search for a new monitor. I reached out to the company about it and they’re making me fill out all this ridiculous information, provide pictures of the product and other things. Once I send that back they told me it will take them 24-72 hours to confirm my request then they will ship out a replacement that I would receive in 1-3 business days. So basically I have to go about a week with a non functioning baby monitor and hope the replacement they send me works. Totally ridiculous and we have only had the monitor for 3 months!

Battery life is not great but I don't mind having it plugged in all night. The video & audio quality is good. I can see my baby and that's all that matters. This is a good purchase for peace of mind throughout the night and it was inexpensive which is always a plus.

I liked that it is very clear. This video is mainly without light. If the light is on, there is color. Both of children wished this was their monitor instead of what they have.

We use an app based monitor at home, but I wanted something that we could use at my in-laws house that would be a quick set up. They live on the other side of the country so we never know what time we’re flying in or arriving at their house. I pulled this out, plugged it in, and we were set. Makes me feel better when she’s all the way in the basement and we’re upstairs or outside. The battery life has been great and so has the range! I love that it gives me a temp reading just like our home monitor. Would recommend to anyone. It gets the job done!

I love this - it’s not crazy fancy like some of the other systems out there, but I LOVE how big the handheld screen is. It’s much bigger than I expected it to be. I also love that if I leave that in another room, I can just check it out on my phone, which was super easy to connect. My only weird caveat is that the microphone is almost TOO sensitive. If the volume is up on the device (even if the screen is off), you can hear the dogs barking or people talking in the hallway and it’s almost like the house is echoing. I’ve learned to make sure the volume is turned all the way down before going into the room to get her up from her nap. For the longest time we couldn’t figure out where the echo was coming from 😂

Long story short, we’re using this as a third monitor, only for a month or two until baby transitions to crib and only for the hour or two she’s in our room before we go to bed also. We had a different brand for this purpose that was more expensive but took it to grandmas since it had a bigger screen so my expectations were too high for this one. For the price I’m sure it’s fine. It’s very compact and I think the battery is comparable to others from what I know. The range of view is tiny and we’d have to mount it directly over the bassinet and at least 4 feet away to see the whole thing. We’re not since it’s so temporary so we have to face her head only one way. The view can’t be moved with the parent monitor so you have to adjust the camera manually and it can’t point down far enough to put the camera on furniture next to the bassinet. She’s facing the opposite way right now so this is a picture of her feet in a sleep sack. As you can see the side of the camera is dark. Not great picture. This is the brightest setting.
as for sound, if the speaker is on its incredibly loud, but it turns off after about 30 seconds. Not ideal if you were to keep this on all night and listen for your baby since the sound does not stay on (even with the right settings and volume turned all the way up). It seems to mute itself.
There’s also a blinking green light on the camera so make sure to tape that off so your baby doesn’t stare at it. It’s not functional, just a Power light so that the baby knows when she’s being watched?? Haha. When you turn the parent unit on or off (or change settings) there’s a loud beep so you also can’t do that in the room with sleeping baby. Just some annoying use issues we’ve found with our light sleeper.

So I had originally ordered another baby monitor so I could hear my granddaughter at night since her room is far enough away from mine that I wouldn’t be able to hear her if she got up and was hungry. I thought it was a great little monitor quality of the screen was really good!! Unfortunately my boyfriends grandson kept running into our room and several times he accidentally jerked the cord so it wouldn’t charge. So I ordered this one to replace it and I love love love it!! Sound is great the picture quality and night vision is amazing!! Honestly I’m not sure of the battery life because I may plug it in and set it on a nightstand. It reaches just outside the back door of a ranch style house. I can’t say enough good things about this monitor. The picture is fuzzy because of my phone not the actual monitor itself

This baby monitor does the job if it decides to work! We love how big the screen is and love that we have access on the mobile app. However, the screen itself never stays connected and constantly beeps when it’s searching for a signal. The app usually never has issues but would love if that actual monitor did its job. The camera also doesn’t give the most clear image but it works well enough to see your baby. I’ve had this for a year now and wish I went with a different monitor that doesn’t constantly have connection problems. We have even disconnected and reconnected it to our wifi, but doesn’t do the job. I actually bought it from Target and when I went to write the review, the product wasn’t there anymore. They probably took it out of their stores-which is probably a smart decision on their part lol

Both the units (parent and baby) are study and we'll built. Picture quality is great- not grainy or glitchy at all. I love that it shows the temperature in the room too, it helps me know just how I should dress my baby for the night. Sound quality is great too. The only thing I don't like is that the parent unit turns itself on every time you plug it in to charge (minor inconvenience, I know, just an annoying one).

This is an amazing budget video monitor! My regular monitor is the Eufy, which I love, but I needed a travel monitor for when we go on vacation. At $50, this was the perfect price. And even though the Eufy cost 3x more, this monitor has some better features! I highly recommend this one.
Pros:
You can leave the sound on, and turn the screen off! By pressing any button, the screen comes back to life. This is how I have it set for overnight.
The parent unit plugs in with a round plug/cable (not a USB, which requires flipping it the right way).
The parent unit is a great size and very tough. You don't feel like you need to baby it. It has a little kick stand that is very sturdy!
I don't use it, but it does have a VOX feature.
I don't use it, but it does have a two-baby units feature.
Cons:
The "dim" setting is very bright.
The quietest/lowest sound setting is very loud.
The picture quality is decent, but not amazing.

Bought this monitor to replace our vtech video monitor we’d had for 5 years (accident happened nothing at the fault of the system/company). I looked for a while reading reviews on monitors and finally decided on this one. I’ve been nothing but happy with this! Plugged them in & turned them on, they link all on their own. Picture quality is just fine and the battery on the parent monitor lasts a long time! I just wish that the camera would pan from the parent unit, but I knew it didn’t when I bought it. Great product all around. And for a great price.

I love this! I don’t know why I didn’t purchase a lot sooner. Bought as a piece of mind as our 18 month old transitioned from crib to twin bed after countless times of climbing out of her crib. The voice talk is refreshing and is a big help to tell her to “get back in bed” and “Good morning, I’m coming” etc. The night vision is great as we keep it super dark in her room. The camera will zoom in and out and can move around.
I don’t use the music it comes with and the only negative I will say is the battery life is not great! We’ve only had it for a month and it has to be plugged in at all times or it’s dead within a couple hours.

We bought this baby monitor as our daughter was getting older and we wanted to be able to have a visual on her and see what she’s doing rather than just hearing her with our old audio only monitor.
I LOVE IT.
It’s not expensive at all, the image quality is so great for the price, night vision is awesome (I love being able to see my girl rolling around in her sleep), and the battery life on the parent monitor is AMAZING. We’ve accidentally left it unplugged all night and it was still hanging on with one bar of battery left and it charges incredibly fast. I love the temperature monitor that’s displayed on the screen too because I can easily see if it’s getting too warm or cold for baby without going into her room and disrupting her if it’s not necessary. Definitely recommend to all parents, you can even connect multiple cameras and switch through them to monitor multiple areas!!

We live in a 2 story house. This has changed my life! I'm practically using it as an intercom :) My father in law sleeps downstairs and goes to bed super early.
When I'm doing dishes at night my 5 and 9 year olds make lots of noise stomping instead of stepping and yelling upstairs. Now I'm able to use this as an intercom and tell them to stop without yelling for them to hear me! I can make sure they are not fighting or causing mischief. I also use it to watch my daughter during the night since we have a new puppy. Sound is great, image is very clear. I definitely recommend it.
