Fan blades broke while in use.

Do not buy these fans!

We had two of them break while on. The blades flew off and one hit my kid in the head.

I will be reaching out to the manufacturer ASAP.

Defective unit after installation.

Fan making loud clicking sound after installation.

Now we have to order replacement and pay and electrician again to remove and replace due to defective unit.

A good buy

It looks nice and even the sound it makes is kind of soothing. It is strong, so medium low works good enough for us.

Fan

Nice fan! Like that it comes with a remote to adjust fan and light.

Shakes at the lowest setting.

We bought this fan because it has a high CFM (wind speed) rating. Which is pretty useless because of how violently the fan shakes at higher speeds. This fan still manages to shake even at the lowest speed. The lower fan portion appears to be a ball bearing like structure loosely sitting inside the ceiling mount. Nothing is hold the fan in place to stop it from shaking. It was a pain to install so we decided not to return it but it's pretty useless beyond a light and I would not recommend it.

Looks great, horrific install and poor QC

Bought 5 of these fans in order to replace the fans throughout my home. After one install I will be returning all of them. In short, these fans are laughably difficult to install because of horrible design by the manufacturer, and after completing a miserable install that easily took 4x longer than any other fan I've put up in my life, it doesn't function correctly.

Regarding install, I'll keep it short because there's no reason to echo what so many others have already said. I should have listened to these reviews but ignorantly thought it couldn't be *that* bad. It is. The way the mount is setup makes wiring incredibly difficult, the fan blades mounting directly to the motor require two people if you want to keep your sanity (and you'll still spend 30+ minutes just fighting to screw in 12 fan blade screws), and if you try to put the blades on yourself ... Good luck. I gave up and phoned a friend.

After that painful install, the fan controls don't even work. Despite having 4 advertised fan speeds (low, medium-low, medium, high) only two actually function (low and high). There is a quite loud audible hum from the motor at high speeds which I would certainly not want in a bedroom at night. The dimming feature is also non functional on the unit I installed. The light is not nearly bright enough for a large room in my fan either, which could be due to the faulty dimming feature, but I'll never know.

Given the horrific install only to find out I don't have functioning fan speeds and light dimming, my 5 fans are all going back for a new product without hesitation. Shame because these are sharp looking fans, if you can get past having to deal with a remote.

a pain to install and wobbles.

a pain to install it works as a fan should. i have to wedge pieces of wood between my ceiling and the fan to keep it from shaking and making all that darn noise. so now the fan isnt shaking anymore i just have pieces of wood making the fan look ugly. save yourself from this problem and buy a different brand.

Way too noisy

I purchased two of these fans (because they’re gorgeous) and they worked great for the first few months then suddenly started making a lot of creaking noises. I wrote to Westinghouse since the fans are still under warranty so we’ll see what they end up doing for us. I have Minke Aire fans in another property and they don’t make any noises at all. Could probably tolerate if in a main living area but avoid if the fan is going in a bedroom.

Modern fan for a great price!

My hubby put the fan together before installing and he bypassed the remote so we can use our separate light and fan wall switches. Led light is white not yellow as other reviewers. Doesn’t wobble and is very quiet when fan is on. Only suggestion would be it would have been better to have smaller washers to hold the fan but he was still able to get it installed in under an hour with what it came with.

Love the looks HATE a the remote only option

I thought this was a great fan for the price, but I was under the mistaken impression that using the remote was optional. My electricians informed me it wasn’t. The fan can be wired to your wall switch but the remote must be used. You have to hit the on button from the remote to then be able to use the wall switch but then your putting both your fan and light on one switch back the two switches that were currently there from the previous fan. Everyone knows the remote will get lost at some point at which time I’m told the fan will no longer be operational.

Works well but the light is a white light. I prefer the soft yellow and there’s no ootion for it. Otherwise it works

Despite buying the same model, they do not match.

I just wanted to comment after buying 3 fans six months ago, and then purchasing another recently. So the 3 I purchased six months ago have the light cover that is just over 1” thick. The one I recently purchased is just under 2” thick (see photos). The frosted glass is molded and cannot figure out why they changed molds in the last 6 months. You can see them in adjoining rooms—and it bothers me that they do not match. Westinghouse, how can I get ahold of a thinner light cover? I just want them to match.

Amazing airflow

I bought 2 of these & LOVE them! They have amazing airflow, were easy to install & I love the way they look! The only problem I ran into was the remotes/fans were both coded the same(picture of what needed changed above), so after installing I discovered the remotes worked both fans & would turn both off when I just wanted 1 off or turn the lights on both. 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ It was a quick fix but I did have to go back to 1 fan & change a number on the relay & then change that same number on the remote for that fan.

Love this streamlined fan!

This modern fan worked great for my client's kid's bedroom. Sturdy, great color and love that it has a remote.

Installation is a PAIN but the fan id beautiful

My husband is extremely handy and very competent with installing and assembling. It took him also 1.5 hours to fully install this fan. As other reviewers have stated - getting the blades in was frustrating. In summary: You basically have to screw them in blind because you can't see what you're doing the way it's designed. This has been a problem for multiple reviewers so it's a design flaw. Just keep the installation hassle in mind. Don't start this project when you're rushed or already in a bad mood. ; )

With that said - the fan itself is beautiful. It's more modern than we'd like...but the simple black and streamlined look works.

PROS

* Super quiet

* Black color is nice (and hard to find in a fan)

* Attracted and streamlined look

* Remote works quickly (no delay)

CONS

* We are taking a full 2 stars OFF because of the installation problems and overall design.

Disappointing quality

We bought this fan as an upgrade over the 20-year-old ceiling fan that was in our bedroom when we moved into our new home. There was nothing wrong with the old ceiling fan, except that it was ugly and it hung down quite far from the ceiling and I would have to watch my head when walking past it. I wish we kept that original fan, now that I have this one installed and have lived with it for about 1 month now.

I should've suspected I would feel this way from Day 1 of trying to install it. Several quality issues with the equipment hinted as such to me, but I decided to ignore them. For example, one of the 2 set screws that hold the main fan housing secure against the down-shaft was completely seized up. I had to use a friend and a couple of wrenches to loosen it, and then it never screw back in properly.

The attached image to this review is of the mounting bracket where it meets the ceiling. This is by far the most frustrating part about this fan. First of all, it's a very flimsy part. Second of all, the 2 screws that hold the fan to the ceiling are even flimsier. In fact, they're the thinnest screws in the entire fan assembly, despite the fact that they are supposed to hold the weight of the fan and ALSO keep the fan from rocking side to side when it spins. Finally, because of the shape of the bracket and the fact that it's curved on the inside, I cannot make the screws tight enough and therefore my fan rocks side-to-side constantly. There's literally nothing I can do except listen to the tick-tick-tick of the fan shaking every night, all night. I've tried screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches ... literally everything to get those screws tighter.

The thing is: I thought ceiling fans are not supposed to shake, even if they're not tightly secured to the ceiling? My father-in-law swears this is true and I believe him. So maybe the fan is lopsided. I tried balancing it with the included blade weights and nothing worked. I even tried to tighten different parts inside the fan, and still no result.

Anyway, the conclusion of my review is that Westinghouse has fallen a long way from the quality, trusted, American-made home appliances they once made. Buyer beware on this item. Ceiling fans are not something I will ever deal-seek on again.

Got a great deal

Bought a used one for about $100 off and it ended up looking brand new. Installation wasn’t too bad, except the fan blades were a little annoying. Nice modern look.

A great ceiling fan!

i love this ceiling fan. A beautiful modern looking fan. My husband and father installed it together so it was very simple to do between the two of them. It took them maybe 30 minutes (but we had to even paint the ceiling a tad because this fans base was a little smaller than the last). The cord had to be trimmed but that wasn’t a problem. No wobbling at all whatsoever. I honestly have not messed with the remote/dimming because i like the full brightness in these dark winter days. Overall i love this fan.
