Could have been perfect if it wasn't plagued with poor craftsmanship...

The overall style of this ceiling fan is excellent and has the modern look I'm after. I'm not a fan of the sconce cluster light kit style that comes with a lot of traditional AC ceiling fans so the style of this one fits the bill. Unfortunately, this one is plagued with poor craftsmanship that I will list in the cons below (pictures included). I eventually made it work with details below.

Pros:

• AC motor fan which can be directly controlled by a wired smart wall switch (the included remote module needs to be ommitted during the install to accomplish this)

• Modern style

• Replaceable LED bulbs

• Compatible with A15 dimmable LED bulbs

• Moves a lot of air compared to all of my other ceiling fans

• Super quiet AC motor compared to my other ceiling fans by a well known brand

• Glass opal light globe gives a premium look

Cons:

• The design of the ceiling mounting bracket places the downrod off center of the canopy, so it is not aesthetically symmetrical (see pictures)

• The fan blade irons seem to have loose manufacturing tolerances or are easily deformed during manufacturing as half of them are out of alignment once installed (see pictures)

• The dark paint on the sides of the blades arrived with some peeling which I scraped off with a box cutter (sorry I forgot to take pictures of this)

• The factory LED bulbs have a very limited dimming range, almost as if they can only dim to about 50%. I replaced the bulbs with the clear dimmable A15 bulbs also made by Westinghouse and, surprisingly, those dim basically to 1% or very close to it.

• It wobbles quite a bit, and this is with weighing all of the blades and blade irons individually with a food scale to create equally weighted combinations. I ended up purchasing a balancing kit to remove the wobble as mine did not come with one contrary to what some customers experienced. Also, I later discovered after some frustrated attempts that using the Ceiling Fan Balancer app (not free) helped tremendously to identify the blades involved with the wobble issue, which I'm willing to bet is due to the deformed blade irons. The app didn't get the positions of the weights on the affected blades exactly right, but got me close enough to play around to find the correct positions.

Final thoughts:

With the above workarounds, I'm willing to put up with this ceiling fan and will keep it and ignore the aesthetic deformities, but I really wished it was a smoother install without any hassle or wasted time. A saving grace is that I was able to bypass the remote control module and directly control both the fan speed and the LED dimming from separate wired smart wall switches, which I think is more intuitive and easier to find for guests. Additionally, I am glad I didn't have to add another remote to my side table or mount it on the wall, which for me, increases clutter with the potential of becoming lost, broken, or needing constant battery changes, plus I can still use my integrated smart app via the wired smart wall switches for convenience. Ultimately, I really hope Westinghouse improves their manufacturing process and/or their quality control, because some of their design styles are pretty nice.

Waste of time, effort, and money!

Garbage! Poor instructions, fan would not turn on after wired and wiring was double checked. After getting fan blades ( several of which were chipped on the dark side) attached found that the motor mount was crooked with over an inch tilt from one side to the other.

Several of the blade mounting screws were secured so tightly that in attempting to loosen them they stripped.

The best place for this fan is the dumpster!

Broken glass & wires were cut

Glass for the light was shattered AND wires were cut on fan. Now have to haul it to UPS to return.

Looks good and moves lots of air

Upgraded to a larger fan. It moves lots of air and is quiet. The remote is easy to use. It took me about an hour to take down my old fan and install the new one.

Great Fan

I love the look of this fan. I didn't like the color of the blades so I painted them black. Fan works great and was easy to install. Only objective I have is that the remote is a little challenging to install. For the price, I'd purchase again. Quite on all settings.

Great air circulation!!

If you are searching for a fan that moves a lot of air, look no further! We got this for our sunroom, and this really helps cool it off. It was easy to install, comes with an optional remote. Sleek look- and reversible blades with darker or lighter wood look design. Very quiet, even when on full blast!

Perfect!

This fan is exactly as advertised (keep in mind I just installed today). It's quiet, big, beautiful, and puts out a good breeze. My installer had 0 problems, no balance issues, no issues.

* Note, I bought a 4" rod from Lowe's to ensure good clearance. Worked out perfectly, just make sure it's ¾" diameter.

Defective light cover was not quality controlled

We contacted the manufacturer about this but apparently it takes three days to get a response? No one did any quality control on the light fixture so the diameter of the fixture is wider than the encasement that it is supposed to fit into and there is visible in the picture the flaw in the design so that it won't even screw into place. Forcing it would of course cause the light fixture to crack because it's glass. I hope the manufacturer will immediately send a replacement cover that has been QA'd.

Perfect ceiling fan!

This is a really great fan, especially for the price! I didn’t want to wait for my husband so I installed this myself. It was very easy, I didn’t use the weights or anything I just hung it. The remote is so easy you just attach the wires from the remotes housing to ceiling wires and it fits right in the bracket it’s perfect. I have it on low bc that generates a really nice air flow plus our ceiling are 10 & 13 feet where vaulted. There is no noise at all, absolutely no wobbling and Lots of air flow! Extremely happy with this fan, the price, love the remote and definitely the flow of air! Highly recommend

Nice fans that blows a good amount of air

I like the look of the fan. I only gave it 3 stars because of the remote. It is not very reactive. I have to hit the buttons several times to turn off the light or change the speed of the fan. My electrician suggested that I purchase stronger batteries than the ones that came with the remote. So, maybe that is the issue. I thought the blades were going to be a little darker based on the website pics. I also plan to purchase brighter light bulbs, as some others have mentioned in their reviews. On the plus side, it definitely puts out a lot of air.

DEFECTIVE REMOTE/MOTOR. YOU BUY, YOU STUCK. DO NOT BUY!

Trust the reviews complaining about the defective remote sensor. The remote control is useless out of the box because you literally have to place the remote on the light fixture for it to work (see pictures). Yes, the ONLY way my remote works is for me to walk up to the fan, place the top of the remote on the glass covering the lights, then press the function to turn lights on/off or turn fan speed up (picture is not an exaggeration).

Apparently, the company is receiving many complaints about this. Instead of helping to fix the problems, they have lowered the price. I bought it on sale for $229. Price today is $60 less. If you don’t mind having a remote that functions like a pull cord, then you might be okay with this malfunction. But, why pay all of this money for a remote controlled fan that isn’t really controlled remotely?!

It is a serious inconvenience to have to get out of bed to turn lights on/off or walk yacross the room to get remote, then to the fan, then back to put remote down. Unfortunately, the manufacturer knows about the defect and won’t do anything to help you if you choose to buy this defective product. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS FAN. You’ve been warned!

Update: now, after just a few months, the motor speed no longer switches to high. It’s only low and medium. In hot South Florida, that’s a major issue - especially for a fan that is not even a year old. This is yet another reason to STAY AWAY!!

The power of wind has been harnessed

This is the best ceiling fan we’ve ever owned. It works so so well!! Even the lowest setting cools the room in summer.

Happy Happy Happy!!!!

Ok. Lets start with the obvious. This fan is beautiful. Very stylish. Moves a ton of air. For a Electrician. Should be a breeze to install. For a home owner. 2 hours or more. On my scale. It gets 10 stars out of 5. Period. Period. Lets talk about the BAD reviews. They are false. The light does in fact dim as stated. Yes it does. The bulbs it comes with do dim. Now if you want it to dim better. Change the bulbs. Dont spread lies. Period. No lies. NONE!!!!

Works, poor quality control, don't recommend

Fan works fine, it only operates via the remote, but it meets my needs.

However, unit arrived severely warped. I had to manually bend it back to prevent the blades from scraping the motor cover while in operation. If you don't mind that new items arrive damaged, then this fan is for you. Otherwise, the fan is pretty noisy to boot, but the remote works well if you ensure the antenna is pointed down towards the floor when you attach the light fixture and blades.

The poor quality control on this fan means I can't recommend it to anyone in good conscience. Buy at your own risk.

Love this fan

I love how it has 4 settings instead of the standard 3. It looks great and in the couple of weeks we've had it we've gotten a few compliments (not had a lot of people over due to the pandemic). It's super quiet, but moves the air really well.

My only complaint is that I wish the bulbs were a bit brighter. I don't feel that warrants dropping it a whole star, but if I could go down a half star I probably would. The dim function is also really slow. I've tried to find the same style bulbs with a brighter option, but can't. Oh well, still a great fan and the light is decent, would just like a bit brighter.

Magic

Great Fan. Very bad remote.

Excellent fan, definitely gets the air moving. However the remote sucks. Press the light button and the fan turns on. Press the off button and the light turns on. Then couldn't turn the darn thing off. Recommend to buy a different remote and box. Other than the remote we do love the fan.

oscar

disappointed

First one that i bought the glass came lose they send me another one after a 7 months same thing happened the glass came lose by the vibration of the fan..

Aesthetically Pleasing but has some PROBLEMS (BeWARE)

The best thing about this fan is its attractiveness. A couple of issues I have with this fan:

1) You cannot adjust the rotation with the remote - As you can see in my pic, this requires me to get at least a 10ft ladder to climb up and adjust when needed

2) My remote does not work - I had an electrician install the fan ($300) - the remote stopped working (which I now see from other reviews this is a problem) Now I am stuck with a fan on one setting (highest spin, light on) until I can get someone to come over with a 20 ft ladder or scaffolding to replace.

3.) If this is for a larger room "go bigger" I purchased this fan and another 68 inch fan for another room and I wish I had gotten a bigger one. While it is very aesthetically pleasing, it looks really small on a high ceiling large room.

Overall if my remote worked, and if I didn't have climb up a ladder to change the rotation I would most likely be satisfied, except that that is A REALLY BIG DEAL!!

Read this first...trust me.

Too many are complaining about how the remote doesn’t work. See the picture I’ve left. Leave a little part of the wire out so the remote can communicate to it! Paint the wire white or whatever if you must. And it’ll work wonderfully and 500 feet away.

Use a smart bulb! And hardwire the fan into a light switch. You’ll never feel you need more options.

This fan is quiet and impressively moves air. I have vaulted ceilings. I purchased my own rod ($5) to feed the cable through...good idea for vaulted ceilings. Wires were plenty long enough to work with.

All the bad reviews were because you have to know what you’re doing, i.e. don’t tuck the remote wire all inside with the grounding wires!

And shaking or vibrations... install it as it is intended and you’ll be very happy.

Good product

Great looking fan and the assembly of the family is good but the controller is bad

I would like to say that I never leave a review but since I bought two of these having high hopes I’m gonna do it now since I invested at least $400 into it, the whole fan assembly is great except for the controller, the controller is very cheap and you have to be really close to the fan in order for it to work and sometimes Doesn’t even respond well even after replacing the battery; keep that in mind.

Looks great

One small complaint, one of the screws was set so tight I stripped it and had to drill it out and replace. After i settled down, it was easy to install, bright light, nice wind, very quiet, so im really happy

I love the fan so much. I bought another one for the bedroom.

Fan is really nice easy to install

Simply a terrible waste of time.

Terrible, just terrible. There are loose parts in the box, no instructions and the fan was jammed into the box so hard it's now broken. Will definitely be sending this back and not purchasing from Westinghouse.

Westinghouse Fan

We like the look of the fan, one of the main reasons as well as a remote. It was simple to install. The only reason I'm giving it 3 stars, is the fan has a noticeable hum that is not there with 6 other fans I've installed which are Famnation and Hampton Bay.

Awesome fan!

I was nervous about buying a Westinghouse brand fan as I don't know the company as a fan manufacturer. The fan is awesome. No wobble, it looks great, very sturdy, doesn't make a motor noise at all, and is easy to install. We installed it on a 13.5ft ceiling with a slope. Yes it can be installed on a sloped ceiling which I was concerned about. The fan can only be controlled by a wall on/off light switch which is what we did. You cannot control fan settings from the wall as the receiver only has power on or off so individual light & fan settings are all controlled by the remote. We keep the fan on the setting we want and and turn it on or off using the wall. So inexpensive and great that we purchased a different model from Westinghouse we put in another room and it's just as great.

Looks and Works Great.

0 wobble on highest speed with no balancing and all you hear is the wind noise. Disclaimer- I bought "Daylight" colored bulbs to replace to "warm" bulbs that came with the fan.
