Great Book- Damaged Product

The book is great, very cute! My complaint is based on the condition of the book I received. Damage to cover (top & bottom, see photo). Greasy smudge on bottom of pages as well.

Beautifully written and illustrated children’s book

We absolutely love this book by Ellie Holcomb. Her being a singer and songwriter makes her a wonderful children’s book writer! I highly recommend this book, especially to read to any children who are fearful of storms as there is a stormy page - this has encouraged many great conversations with our fearful child and he,Les to point her to the Lord!

Obsessed!

I heard about this book from a YouTube channel I watch and I thought I’d check it out. I was completely blown away by this book and actually cried the first time reading it to my daughter. It’s such a powerful story of how God loves us and what He expects of us. Will purchase this for all of my friends/family that have kids. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful book for kids

My son is obsessed with this books. We are a neurodivergent family and this books are great tool for us to introduce God creation to our special need child. The pictures are really beautiful. I personally love the way this author make her books/ the illustration represents how perfect is the creation of our Lord.

It's a beautiful story with beautiful pictures

I don't remember where or when I bought this book.. but my 1 year old had had a craving for reading books lately... Today I decided to go into our home library and this book caught my eye... I don't remember even reading it to my older children .. any who, we sat down to read the book and then I got to this page and I teared up because I was not expecting for it to be a religious book at all! My baby loved it as much as I did we read the book 3 times before putting it away. I highly recommend it. What a wonderful surprise 💕

Gorgeous illustrations and beautiful message!

This book is newer to us, but my 19 month old has requested it on repeat over the past few weeks so it has quickly become a favorite. The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and I love the reminder that all of creation has a song to sing!

A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E {Who Sang the First Song?}

I recently had the chance to review the A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E book by Ellie Holcomb (illustrated by Kayla Harren) Who Sang the First Song? This book is Ellie's first book.

First, knowing Ellie's amazing Christian music heritage is just a plus. (I grew up hearing of Brown Banister's work!). Add in her musical and motherhood experience and you have what you need for a beautiful book!

Much should be said as well for the beautiful illustrations by Kayla Harren in Who Sang the First Song? Each page comes to life with the amazing pictures!

This book is perfect for bedtime reading or even bedtime singing. It would make an ideal gift for children ages newborn to age five. After some repeated reading five year olds (even younger) may memorize the words and be able to "read it" themselves!

I was given a free copy for my honest review.

Beautifully illustrated children's book on creation

This large hardback children's book is written in rhyme by songwriter Ellie Holcomb and beautifully illustrated by Kayla Harren. In 24 pages that flow through 12 large two-page colorful drawings, Holcomb repeatedly asks the question, "Who sang the first song?" and then suggests the answer with questions, as it the names parts of the creation. The questions come in an order similar to the days of creation, flowing through poetic references to wind, moon, stars, sun, sea creatures, animals, plants and birds. The book answers, "All these guesses we've made are quite good, but they're wrong. It was God, our Maker, who sang the first song!" Then Holcomb explains that God "wrote His song into everything" and tells children they are good and wonderfully made, and that God wants children to "sing with your life and your voice." Each page shows happy children, and includes musical notes in the sky. Harren's contrasting colors and detail delighted my grandchildren, who enjoyed pointing out things like the frog on an umbrella or a girl holding a basket of rabbits. I read this book to my grandchildren, ages 2, 3, 4 and 6. (In the photo, my grandson is reading the page with his favorite illustration.) The youngest were fascinated by the illustrations and wanted to see it again and again, while the older ones also understood the message.

Ironically, although the book is published by B&H Kids of Nashville (publishing arm of Southern Baptists), it is printed in Shenzhen, China (next door to Hong Kong), in a communist country that suppresses Christians from sharing the faith with their own children.

(Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, but was under no obligation to write a positive review.)

Beautiful Story and Illustrations

Who sang the first song? That’s a great question! This book talks all about songs. Yes, regular songs, but not only regular songs with music from instruments and words from our lips. There are wind songs, there are hooting songs, and all kinds of sound songs if you listen carefully. Kids will also enjoy the beautiful illustrations in this book. - Melody, age 11

A beautiful story book for all ages!

I purchased this book for my niece and nephew (1.5, 4) and they both are so captivated by the gorgeous artwork and the sweet cadence of the story. It's a joy to read (and not too long!! haha) and absolutely gorgeous to flip through the photos. The kids love the companion kid's music and enjoying singing along as we read the book, they are so proud of themselves for knowing every word so that they can "read it" themselves!! This book features a simple yet big message for little ones and I'm so grateful to share it with my favorite kiddos in my life.
