Ordered the 71” option for my 3rd gen 4Runner and it worked well. Assembled all screws using loctite. Note for 3rd gen 4Runner owners: the 71” roof rack will only clear the rear hatch wind deflector (with hatch open) if you reverse the cross bar mounts to allow for a few extra inches to move the entire rack forward.

Great Rack
For the price, this roof platform is unbeatable. Comes together easily if you follow the instructions and can use basic tools. There are plenty of mounting points for roof rack accessories. The aluminum construction keeps it relatively light for a platform setup. The 63" model should give me plenty of cargo space. I will be mounting a light bar underneath it in the future.

Great product with a solid design at a great price point!
The reason why I'm replacing my 2nd roof basket is because of rust, just like my 1st one. Since money don't grow on trees, I decided to find an aluminum substitute. My current tracks and subsequent cross-members on my Chevy Silverado's camper top are a Rhino Rack brand. But when the aluminum Rhino Rack platform I researched came in at over $1000, I took a chance and ordered this one for $375. Assembly is required - The box arrived a little beat up on the ends and one of the long supports inside suffered some slight damage. However, being made of aluminum, I was able to bend it back to shape pretty quickly with a couple of crescent wrenches. I would rate the assembly difficulty as a 2 with a rating of 1 being easy-peasy. Just make sure you have a large enough, flat space to make the assembly. Assembly & installation takes a full day but mine took 2 days because i added a rear-facing LED light bar.
Be advised that only the four corner, strut supports underneath are made of 1/8" thick mild steel, but this is painted. The rest of the rack's components are made of aluminum with 4 corner joints and 2 long sides are made of ABS plastic. all fasteners and accessory fittings are quality stainless steel! Everything you need to make a stellar cargo roof rack are included in the kit. Instructions are very easy to follow and I used blue Loctite to prevent any of the many, many fasteners from vibrating loose over time. The other critical reason why Loctite is recommended is because ALL of the fasteners are located on the UNDERSIDE of the rack so if they loosen, you’ll probably loose them entirely! The frame with the ten struts made of thin gauge aluminum, do become pretty solid as one unit once they are connected/assembled using the stainless steel fasteners. All of the many mounting holes were drilled/punched, spot-on, so it was just a matter of lining up the holes and inserting the fasteners. Again, I highly recommend using blue Loctite during the final assembly! Once assembled, the rack is solid but much lighter than a steel counterpart. This inspires confidence when placing lots of cargo on top of this rack! 'Don't know what the difference is between the $1000 Rhino Rack equivalent, but I can tell you that I am completely satisfied with this product and happy I won't have to replace it (again) in a few years due to rust!
Bonus-This unit also comes with 10 pieces of 304 stainless eyelets that will fit in the T-Tracks for lots of tie down options (see pics)!
In summary, this is an excellent product for a reasonable price with a solid design hence, the 5-Star rating!

Not a Platform or flat poor quality fitting
This is not flat as header says it is a mini basket and edges raise up approx. an inch from base so most accessories will not go to the edge of basket only edger of floor also there were conflicting claims of load 200 vs 150 bottom t rails unusable for accessories post set up as the corner brackets over the t rail entry points. holes for the assemble do not line up had to use a rubber mallet a few times or omit a screw or 2. The t channels are verry shallow 14 mm maybe 15mm studs will only fit so most standard attachments HW will not fit Lastly the painting or coating spray rendered a few t rail slots unusable quality issue on coating and precision fitting corners also do not seat very well all holes do not line up or seat flush

Not Heavy Duty
For the most part it will do what it says. Material is not heavy duty. Actually pretty thin. I would say if you plan to use this rack for a roof top tent or to store a tire and gear this is not he rack for you. (Even thought it shows pictures of it doing just that). Your original cross bar is what will hold the weight. Im hoping with my cross bars and the weight distributed on this rack it will not break / bend. Only time will tell. Again if you want a cheaper alternative to the more expensive racks this would work. Although at a price point over $270 tax etc is not that cheap for what you are actually getting.

Quality Issues
★★☆☆☆
I purchased this roof basket because of its excellent reviews, but my experience with assembly was extremely frustrating.
The biggest issue was that one of the attach bars had multiple holes that did not line up correctly with the frame. This wasn’t just one difficult hole—several holes on the same bar were misaligned, making it impossible to install the included M5 screws normally.
I also had alignment issues with the corner brackets. On each of the four corners, at least one screw was extremely difficult to install because the holes did not line up properly. I loosened the surrounding screws, confirmed the parts were oriented correctly, and tried multiple times to get everything aligned, but the final screw in each corner still would not seat correctly.
As I continued trying to assemble the rack, the hex sockets in several of the included M5 screws stripped before they could be fully tightened. I now have to purchase screw extraction tools just to remove the damaged screws before I can finish the installation.
I’ve assembled plenty of furniture and automotive accessories over the years, so I’m familiar with parts that require a little adjustment. This was beyond that. The repeated alignment issues made what should have been a straightforward assembly much more difficult than it should have been.
To complete the installation, I’ll likely have to enlarge some of the holes in the attach bar or request replacement parts from the manufacturer—neither of which should be necessary on a brand-new product.
The basket itself appears sturdy, and I’m only planning to use it to carry a lightweight solar panel, so I’m hopeful it will work once repaired. However, the quality control on my particular unit was disappointing.
I’ve included photos showing the misaligned holes and alignment issues so other buyers know what to look for.

Nice rack!
I bought the biggest one. Fits like it was made for my 80 Series Landcruiser. Went together way. A bit tedious with so many screws. Loctite on each to ensure it doesn’t rattle apart. T-slots seem adequate, but I haven’t tested them thoroughly yet. I will update after taking it over the Rubicon Trail next month.
The clamps are a rubber coated steel that seem to hold the rack on well. My crossbars are 1.25” DOM tubing and I elected to add a 3rd to make things more stable/strong. I can walk on the track with no flexing. It’s quite solid.
The t-slot hardware rings seem well made; time will tell how good the “304” is made. I couldn’t find it anywhere, so I’ll mention that the t-slot bases measure 20mm x 20mm.

Lots of Storage
Purchased for my RAV4, creates a large amount of space for our trip to NY from Florida. Lots of options for tie down rings as they slide back and forth around the outside of the platform and within each inside rail. Included are a bunch of different loops for different tie down configurations so you can be assured your stuff won't move around. Lightweight but strong and nice big brackets to mount it to your roof rails.

Very light duty, poor quality control
This is a very light duty roof rack. It would most likely be fine for on road use with very little to no load applied to it. The rack assembles using a 4 piece exterior frame and thin aluminum ribs that the extrusions attach to via screws. The screws attach to threaded rivets punched into each extrusion. These are punch through, not inserted into a drilled hole making the connection points inconsistent and very weak. My delivery was missing one of the corner brackets and several rivets were already loose or falling out. This roof rack will not handle any significant use and is more of an appearance accessory. I have returned it.

NICE RACK!
As someone who does their own wrenching, I’m impressed with the build quality here. The aluminum is sturdy and well-finished. It’s rated for 150 lbs; while I’d love to see it handle more (since my roof bars are rated for 260 lbs), it seems plenty tough for most loads.
One design note: the mounting knobs protrude above the rack. If you want a flush surface, you can flip the hardware and tighten from the bottom. It’s a tighter squeeze for your hands, but it makes the rack look much more high-end and prevents dings on your gear. Haven't loaded it down yet, but it looks very promising

Solid Rack
Very happy with this roof rack at this price point. Seems very solid and rides silently at highway speed (on a cx-90).
Assembly takes a while, but it’s an easy to follow bolt together kit. 20 or so metal flats and about 100 bolts. It’s critical that you check your roof bar spacing though. The rack is not adjustable- fortunately I was able to adjust my roof rack bars to accommodate.

Easy installation
The installation process was straight forward and not difficult. Overall took about 1-2 hours to complete. It was easy enough to place the roof platform myself onto the roof of my car without issues. One of the long outside bars was slightly bent internally but it did not cause any issues. It is sturdy without issues when attached to the crossbars. There is some minimal wind noise around 50 MPH, but probably less compared to a roof rack. Fits well on a Mazda CX-5.

Recommended!
My family completed a 4,000 mile, 2+ week road trip this summer with the Wildroad 71"x47" Flat Roof Rack, and it worked great! It comes with handy eyebolts and we were able to secure items with compression straps. No bolts came loose during the trip, nor were there any other issues. I do recommend using a power tool and thread locking compound to tighten the many screws that hold it together. Assembly was not a problem. Some pieces press-fit together and may appear not to fit perfectly, but they work just fine within the necessary tolerances.
I recommend purchasing with plenty of time before your trip in case of missing parts. I did contact customer support for this problem, and they were responsive and solved the problem just fine.
Also, be aware that there is no adjustment on the platform to accommodate vehicles with different spacing between the roof cross-bars. If your vehicle's cross-bars don't move (as on my 2025 Toyota Sienna), you'll likely need to make your own system to compensate. After a little thought, I easily did so using sturdy 3/4" plywood and some extra bolts from the hardware store. See my photos for an example.
Rust should not be a problem, since it is made from plastic, aluminum, and stainless steel.
And Yes, it is sturdy after it's all put together. Think of a truss bridge: small parts, but once together it's a sturdy structure. However, I wouldn't put a roof-top tent on it and plan to sleep there. Just use it for a reasonable amount of cargo.
It's not heavy for its size. I do recommend two people for moving it around because of size.
Finally, this platform cost a LOT less than the namebrand options from companies that want to sell you a lot of overpriced accessories. So, if you're competent and can make up for the mounting issue, it's a tremendous value.

Great platform for a low price
Great cost friendly roof platform.
Added bonus for the t slot grooves. If you're looking for a low cost platform this is definitely the one. But I highly recommend using a more flat style crossbar and not the rounded type. It will still work but it has a little wiggle to theoutermost edges

Cheap Option for a Flat Rack
Overall pretty straightforward assembly. Instructions were pretty simple. There are a lot of bolts (~80) which can be time consuming. Took approximately 1.5hrs to construct and mount.
It has a slim, streamlined look that goes well on a Kia Telluride.
I bought it primarily to haul lumber/ladders. Give its weight capacity and thin aluminum, I’m skeptical about its durability but for the price I’m not expecting too much.

Super handy! Just love having this on my SUV!
I've been loving this roof rack! I have a full sized suv with parallel racks running front to back, but no cross bars. I started looking into name brand roof rack systems and it would have been over $1,300! I don't have that in spare change to try out something that I'm not sure just how much I will use it. I purchased the Wikdroad Roof Rack instead & am writing this review with nothing but praise for it!
It took me about 90 mins to assemble with a neighbor stopping by plus 2 dogs wanting me to throw balls for them, so it shouldn't take you as long.
TIPS:
* use a power screw driver or it will be extremely time consuming as many of the screws are quite long
* wait until then outer frame is put together before tightening all of those screws, & same for the cross bars as well
Attaching to the truck took a bit and I needed help another set of hands bc: it is large, my truck it very tall, & I didn’t want to scratch the roof of my car. It took almost an hour to secure all of the brackets, but mainly there was a lot of adjusting, and positioning it in the correct spot on the parallel roof tracks.
So, how’s it treating me???
I LOVE this roof rack!
It makes things such a breeze everytime I have to secure anything to the top of my vehicle! It sure beats them to get for me to take down the kayak racks as soon as I'm back from the water! I've hooked camping equipment to the rack and was able to avoid using a hitch carrier. This way is much easier now that I don't have to block my tailgate.
If you're on the fence about it, my opinion is that it is worth more and is a great asset for anybody who enjoys the great outdoors or could use a rooftop solution.

WILDROAD Aluminum Roof Platform
Model: WR-APF-63
Dimensions: 63" x 47" X 2”
Great platform roof rack for the price and features.
Instruction book is straight forward on the steps to connect all the pieces. The construction of the aluminum bars are sturdy, 1.2mm thick and have riveted screw mounts. So far with my testing, I am not getting any road whistle from this rack. Lots of possibilities to mount various items using the supplied T Slot anchors. Enjoy the pictures of my install.
My Recommendations:
- Thread Locker 242 Blue for vibration resistance on keeping the screws from getting loose.
- (8) M8 Nylon Locking Nuts with washers to keep the knobs from getting loose and added security

2700 miles and no issues. Fit great on 2013 Ford Escape
We just completed a 2700 mile trip with this platform on our Ford Escape. I wanted a flat platform to be able to hold an overlanding box and a long tent package on the roof for this trip. The hardware with this platform is very good quality, I had no issues with set up or attachments. I used the included strap eyelets to hold the tent down and they were very secure. This platform is an extremely good value compared to some name brand alternatives.
