Amazing exactly what it says and reviews. Just need little more work for people with apartments that’s all but after all it does its job .

This camera was great at picking up motion. The video quality was pretty decent and it gave us so much joy watching the wild animals in our yard. Then it fried in the rain. It was our second Wyze camera to do so. I was so very disappointed.

It offers a wide field of view and is very durable; I have verified that it is waterproof, but it does not include an SD card.

I loved it can’t wait to install it came complete

My second Wyze camera, once a customer always a customer.

I bought this camera for a simple setup to monitor my driveway. Right out of the gate, I was impressed with the build quality and compact form factor — for about $20, this is an outstanding piece of hardware. Image quality holds up well in both bright sunlight and very low light, with a crisp, detailed picture. The app lets you toggle the spotlight and trigger a siren, which is a nice gimmick even if not something I personally needed. As advertised, you can drop in a microSD card and record directly to it — an older 16GB card holds roughly a day of continuous footage, with the camera auto-deleting the oldest clips once it fills up. The companion app itself is reasonably polished and becomes intuitive once you get used to it.
All of that — the price, the image quality, the flexible mount — would have easily earned a 5-star rating on its own. Unfortunately, several things dragged it back down:
- Mandatory account creation: Before you can even see a video feed, you're required to create a full Wyze account with your address, phone number, and the rest. It's free, but unnecessary friction just to add a camera.
- The "no subscription needed" claim is misleading: Once set up, nearly everything you tap leads to an "Upgrade to Pro" prompt. Motion-triggered *video* is locked behind a Cam Plus subscription — without it, you only get a motion-triggered still image.
- A 5-minute dead zone between recordings: Without a subscription, after a motion clip finishes recording, the camera won't record again for 5 minutes — even if motion continues. Only the paid plan unlocks back-to-back recording. Being blind for 5 minutes at a time makes this nearly useless as a surveillance tool.
Troubleshooting tip: if motion detection behaves erratically — working briefly then stopping for no apparent reason — try a different microSD card before assuming the camera is at fault. A faulty card caused exactly that symptom for me and had me convinced the detection was broken.
If you're already on (or willing to commit to) the Cam Plus subscription, this is a genuinely great camera for the price. But if you want a camera that works locally without a mandatory cloud account or a paywall standing between you and back-to-back recording, steer clear. The subscription shackle alone was enough reason for me to return it. I replaced it with a ~$60 camera from another brand with no subscription, no cloud account requirement, and proper RTSP/ONVIF support — paired with Frigate for fully local motion detection and storage, no cloud, no AI upsell required.

A great upgrade to my old Wyze Cam v2. The image quality is clear and sharp, and I can't wait to test the color night vision to see if I can catch the fat raccoon that keeps raiding my hummingbird feeders.
I'm glad this company is still around because they continue to make great products. One feature I especially appreciate is the ability to add a microSD card for local recording without requiring a subscription.
What really impressed me was how easy the upgrade process was. I simply removed the microSD card from my old camera and inserted it into the new one. There was no need to reformat the card, and all of my previous recordings were still there and accessible. The card is a seven-year-old SanDisk, and it worked perfectly.
I see some people reporting problems with microSD cards. My recommendation is to use a reputable brand, as lower-quality cards can cause issues with any camera system.
The sound quality is clear, and the two-way audio makes it easy to communicate with people through the camera. I also appreciate the thoughtful design improvements, such as the waterproof cover over the microSD card slot and the enhanced weather-resistant power connection.
Many of the complaints I see seem to come from people expecting these cameras to perform like professionally installed wired security systems that cost thousands of dollars. For the price, my expectations are realistic, and this camera has exceeded them. I've been using Wyze products for about five years, which says a lot about my experience with the company.
Overall, this camera is a significant upgrade over the older version and offers excellent value for the money. It also works great as a pet camera. If it helps me finally catch that hummingbird feeder-raiding raccoon on video, that'll be an added bonus!

The product stopped working after a firmware update (solid red light, no response). I live in other country.

Very affordable, yet decent quality of videos. I could put it anywhere, yet the cord is a little annoying when if you want to put it high. No assembly, other than connecting with the app, which is really easy. Very reliable camera.

I have bought dozens of these cameras for myself my brother and my dad. The cloud service is pretty decent, and I feel as though it is more secure than some of the other brands. I have SD cards and all of my cameras and it is very easy to go back and see what happened if the detection service didn't pick it up. You can have notifications turned on that will tell you if anything happened and you can customize them which is really nice. There is some lag every once in awhile and getting it connected but I honestly think that it was just the internet. Definitely use the phone app versus the web UI because the web version is not very good as far as I can see. They're pretty durable, I had one that was magnetically stuck to a building fall off during the last snowstorm and it still works. I will say though if it comes unplugged or if you do not plug it in correctly and the seal isn't set up, it will get waterlogged and it will corrode. The camera quality is really decent, it is not as good as they advertise as far as I'm concerned. With that being said, the night vision at least on the newer cameras is absolutely insane. It looks like it's daytime outside even when it's dark. I couldn't believe it. I have a Google home setting on my desk and it will be 8:00 p.m. and still look like it's daylight. Definitely an awesome product and I will be buying more eventually.

Honestly best bang for your buck 🦌! I bought these on sale during Christmas 🎅🏽. I bought three and wish I bought more! Image quality is great for the price! I can access them anywhere, they have wide-ish angle so I can see a lot of the area in my house or yard. They are very sensitive to motion detection. You can talk to the. People in the room (my kids love that!). Quality overall is great for the price! You can put SD cards in them to store information or buy the online subscription (which is fairly inexpensive) but I just use them when needed. They are plug in so there is no battery life to worry about. And they mount easily on the wall. I’ll look for more during this upcoming Christmas.
We even use them as baby monitors sometimes because they even have great night vision (for the price!).

I've been buying Wyze camera for several years and no hav models they no longer make.
This "OG" went wonky and not won't stop making this noise and won't reset (yea, I did all the things).
And, Wyze is cracking down so hard to force you into a monthly subscription and it sukcs.
Anyways, I guess this gets returned and I need to start looking at brands that can last beyond one month and won't push me into a "if you want to see anything really through your cameras, it will be $X per month" model.

I installed the Wyze Cam OG Wireless Camera above my garage and it has been working since Oct 2024. I opted to upgrade to their Cam Plus software. It's pretty cheap and gives you a lot more flexibility. The camera is easy to install... it talks to you during the installation so you have a good feel if you're doing it correctly. The thing that really amazes me is the price. I paid $19.95 (it was on special) but I believe now it's only a couple of dollars more. Be aware this camera requires power. Some people prefer batteries but I opted for power since the outlet was on the wall right behind the camera. I figured if it worked for a year I would have gotten my money's worth so it's only fair to say that I highly recommend the camera.

I use this to keep and eye on my dogs in the backyard. Great quality video with clear night mode vision. You can connect to WiFi and monitor via the app or monitor remotely with the online login.
Really plug and play ~ you just plug it in and connect it to the internet with your mobile device.
Instantly and accurately picks up on motion + identifies whether a pet or person was captured.

I love these cameras and I have over 20 of them between my house and my business and my mother‘s house and they were great being able to use a microSD card in them and not have to pay a subscription. The camera quality is outstanding even at night time. It is so bright and clear and I never have any issue with wireless connectivity. I have promoted these cameras on my social media many times. The only reason I did not give it a five star is because I’m having to replace some of the USB Plug-in boxes because I’ve had three so far quit working because of the plug-in box.

Hah!! I love this camera. It keeps unwanted animals from sneaking the kitty food. It shines a spotlight and then throws in a humans voice which helps quite a bit. I was mainly wanting to keep raccoons away though, maybe the opossom will get used to it lol. He's kinda sweet.

This is my second Wyze camera. I bought the first one (V4) from a big box store and was very disappointed to learn that it was not compatible with Google as advertised. I wasted days of my life reaching out to support and troubleshooting, only to learn that there was no solution. I was told by Wyze support to just return it. So being the positive guy I am, I thought maybe I had a dud. So I ordered this camera after verifying that it did claim to be compatible with Google. However, it does not work with Google either. The cameras will not show at all in Google Home. All you’ll see is a black screen with an error message, as seen in the picture I’ve attached. It is not user error and I’ve tried every troubleshooting step imaginable. After researching further, it seems as though this problem is not just mine. Many people have experienced the same issue but nothing has been done about it. Wyze should stop claiming to be compatible with Google on its packaging and in its advertising if it isn’t 100% compatible. It’s very deceptive. That being said, the camera is easy to use, and sets up very quickly. And of course, it’s very affordable. Connectivity is good unless you are trying to connect using Google Home. Overall, it’s a good camera and a great value for someone that doesn’t need to use it with Google Home/Assistant. So I’m still giving it three stars. But beware if you plan to connect to Google. It simply doesn’t work and neither does the V4 camera. I really wanted this to work but I will probably end up returning both of them and coughing up the money for a Google Nest cam.

I bought these cameras as a two pack. They came in their own little individual boxes and had everything a customer needs to set them up. It was extremely easy to mount to the corner of the wall next to my front door. They swivel and move to get a good and clear angle of what you want to look at. The camera quality was up to par and made it easy to watch the live feed. At times it the scanner would not pick up on certain movements or wouldn’t ding certain things. However, the app gives you the option to send feedback right then and there while watching a clip. It connects to WiFi soooo easy I love it. One downside is you’ll need to subscribe in other to look at live videos. If you don’t subscribe, you’ll be limited to only seeing “stills” of the motions. The night vision is great too. Two way audio so you can talk to whoever is at the door or wherever you set it up. Has MANY cool features on the app to tailor your cameras to what you set up and alarms you like. Worth every penny!

That's a Bobcat right outside our spare bedroom window.. This is about as safe a neighborhood as neighborhoods get, but I love catching wildlife on my Wyze camera. I get Javelinas and Coyotes under that window too.

I bought this Wyze Cam OG camera as a (only) slightly less expensive alternative to the Wyze Cam v3. I have two Cam v3s and have been reasonably satisfied with them.
When I connected the Cam OG and turned it on, I was surprised by two things:
1. It DOES NOT take 12 second videos when an event occurs. I don't like paying for the Wyze Cam Plus service (to record longer videos to the cloud) so I rely on the 12 sec videos and a micro SD card installed in the the Cam v3 cameras to give me the recordings I need. But the Cam OG does not record 12 sec videos to the cloud like the Cam v3. The OG only records a snapshot/thumbnail. I did not know this when I bought the OG and was disappointed by it. So I put a big SD card in the OG (see photo) and rely on it exclusively for video.
2. The interface in the Wyze app is different for the OG than for the v3. If you want to see a collection of the time-indexed events, you have to view the contents of the SD card and then scroll through the timeline looking for the event icons. It is not hard to use and relatively intuitive. (see photo).
Some time after I was using the OG to record events, for some reason, it stopped recording. The only way I could figure out how to fix it was to remove the SD card, format it, and then re-install it.
Overall, I think the Cam OG is adequate. It does alert through the app when there is an event (similar to the Cam v3). The image quality is as good as the v3. It has a spotlight that the v3 does not have (but I have not found any value in it yet). It has been relatively useful for keeping an eye on things. I prefer the Cam v3, though.

Even i know this is water proof i decided to put my camera inside this plant vase, to protect from the rain and also to be kind if hidden. You can control what kind of notification you receive inn you phone and also see it from any home assistant you have.

When I first got them It seemed to be working fine, now it’s making a clicking sound. That stopped.
2 months later I
Changed internet service, had to delete all 3 for some reason, thought it would be an easy switch, not,
Had to
then reset to factory. Now, all 3 will not scan QR code. Spoke with chat, got disconnected. Why have a QR code on the bottom if you can’t use it? I took a picture of it and it was some kind of password helper
Now they are just sitting there till I figure this mess out. This is a waste of my money, only 2 months out!
Ok, this is update
Got in touch with CS and Glee emailed me after we got disconnected. Took my phone out of my case, scanned the correct V3 camera, and done. All 3 are connected and working great.
The clicking sound started on One and I just unplugged it and started over.

Wyze vs nest. The price is great on Wyze but I’m still not sure if I want to set up all 6. The Wyze OG with cam plus subscription missed a 3 person 6:45 am entry (nest caught them and notified in the photo 2). after a manual search on optional micro so card I found this photo 1 but no timestamp or event on camera event page. Photo 2 is the nest cam which sent the proper notification. Nest cams are $150 each and the Wyze $19. The picture is brilliant on Wyze and the nest a little dull. The main issue I have is the Wyze cams have an occasional click which activates a notification.usually mid morning and late night (last night 1am). The nest cam has done the same only seems to have learned not to notify. Maybe a switch from night vision or infrared mode. The nest is subscription $6 for all cams (I had 4 but one was ripped off). Not sure where I’m going with these but figure another week with the two set up will make a decision. Thanks now it’s been a month or so these cameras are sharp pixel wise but everything else lacks big time. False alarms now after last weeks firmware update they don’t give you realtime unless you toggle to the smartdisk and back again. I have 3 wyzees right next to my older nest cams. Guess who wins.nest is a bit more but really good service.
Update 5-25-24 the NEST cam is far superior then the Wyze OG cams. The Wyze (because of an internal switching noise-click some of my Wyze cams have these sound alerts daily. Also Wyze app is not user friendly and reminds me of the lousy grocery store shopping apps. Some of the features are pretty good on Wyze but they aren’t plug and play like the nest cam.mybe ok for light duty but an addition to an existing alarm system the nest would be the best for my home. Thanks —-1/20/2024 Update watch these guys and the billing department 12/20/2024 charged me for Wyze cam plus 1 camera $ 2.99 on 12//23/2024 charged $ 19.99 for cam plus annual on 1/20/2025 charged again $ 19.99 for cam plus annual. Called Wyze and got a foreign country that told me I need to dispute it with my card company. Ok in the meanwhile my nest cams are $8.00 for 4 cams and worth it.

Seriously blows my mind that people complain about a camera that cost $16.00 , $20 when I got mine . I will never understand people who buy something thinking it should perform like a $100 camera , like people complain about everything under the sun then they don't even try and resolve the problem before leaving a comment(looking at you one star reviews) . So what do I think , well for me it's amazing and honestly it's easy setup is refreshing, because Blink , Ring are just a pain . I also have the Doorbell camera from WYZE and the amount of features you get for the price is just crazy , wide angle so you see everything , Car , pet , people, package detection. Night vision color, sound detection, indoor/outdoor , Siren , flood light , two way audio and more . As you can see from the photo I just have my camera just sitting on my window, it's not mounted or anything and it's also going through a screen as well , but still looks good . Oh I have an alleyway on the right and anything that comes down it gets picked up by my camera, so that makes it nice and you can adjust all that in the settings as well . Someone even says something about no color night vision, but never looked at the app settings or try and configure anything, because it does have color, because as you can see from the photo you can adjust whatever you want , then you have people complain about a subscription service , well only two things are added as you can see, so everything else you can use which is a lot. It's a great deal and you get a lot for the money and someone even said that the flood light only works during motion, like that's how most of them work , like don't people read stuff before they buy something. So before you do anything , make sure you do the firmware update first thing , then check out the settings and adjust it for your needs , play around with the camera don't just mount it , like check out the app, see how it works before mounting it or where you final location will be . On top of all that , read the instructions, for example this camera is not waterproof, it's water resistant, big difference. Use the included protector so your cable doesn't get exposed, don't just plug it directly into the wall socket, plug into a power strip, because any kind of electrical problems or a surge in power could damage your camera. I would never put it directly out into the elements , use an overhang or something else.

So far so good! These are my first security cameras and I’m pleasantly surprised with the pic quality for only $20/ea. Im a single parent and this were right in my budget. I still have to purchase Cam Pro and I’m learning to navigate the app. Set up was very easy. First video taken about 6p when the sun was about to set and the 2pic was about midnight.

I installed my two cameras yesterday, one inside on the side of my window seal with double-sided adhesive, and one outside under my window also using double-sided adhesive onto the brick (I can’t use screws because I live in an apartment). They are still holding with the adhesive, fingers crossed they continue to do so! If they were to fall, what would be because of the adhesive, not the cameras.
I also added micro SD cards into each. So far, they seem to be working okay but don’t record motion detection like I would like. I got these because I have a neighbor that’s been turning off my power at the power box and also stealing from my porch.
The only way it’ll record continuously (even though I have SD cards in each and have my settings set to record continuously) is if you use the Wyze free trial subscription — bummer. I can’t afford to pay for subscriptions for each camera so I thought by having the SD cards, it would do the trick. I am still missing events even though my settings are setup correctly for each — I know this because my Ring doorbell camera is catching events in the same area as my front porch Wyze camera, and my Wyze camera is not.
Overall, they’re okay. I do like that they work with my Alexa devices and have an app for easy usage and viewing.

First of I would love to say is I love this security camera. It is all that I need to keep an eye on my little home nest lol 😂 The images are so clear, and crisp! I know in previous reviews, a customer was somewhat complaining about an subscription that Wyze has but it’s literally $1.99 /per month, which isn’t that bad. As well as them having a plan subscription for $19.99 annually which isn’t neither that bad either but I guess different stroke for different folks. Anyways, I love it a lot!
