Great camera for the price

I have always been a fan of Wyze cameras. They are dependable and can take a beating. I owned in maybe 5 years ago and that camera was amazing. The puctur was great and it came with pretty good features for the time. This v3 is also a good camera once you figure out the sweet spots for connectivity. When I first received it, it would not connect and I constantly had to refresh the connection because it just would not hold. I did some experimenting and I had to use a different router on a different channel. I believe to get a stable signal.. but once I found that I haven’t had any problem since. The features that I like the most are the continuous live view and the ability to have an SD card onboard the camera. For me, that is a very Price conscious choice because most of the other companies require you to use their cloud service for 24 seven continuous coverage. Doing so can get pricey depending on which company you’re dealing with maybe my only problem with this device is the microphone, it is not the best and picks up a lot of background noise, so it is hard to hear most conversations when you’re monitoring the video. Other than that,for the price, this is a solid buy. I recommend!

Unreliable and frustrating.

So far pretty frustrating experience. Had to subscribe to get any event videos at all. Free gave me still images only. (See photo) Easily triggered by moving leaves and missed vehicles and people. After subscribing and many set up tweaks it kind of works. Sometime. I removed all other event triggers just left people. Still may record a few events and then stop. Image when it works is good but operation very unreliable. Tries to upsell me on equipment and additional services when I cant even get consistent basic operation.

Great quality

Landlord got these for the apartment complex. They were easy to set up and install. They detect a person and actually follow until out of view. The images are great quality. The video and Pic shown only look not the best as window is so dirty. It's got great night vision, connected to internet easily. So manh great features like setting the alarm off by phone to scare off people.

Nice camera, not great mic

These are great and affordable cameras!

The picture quality is on par with brands 2-3x the price. Set up is very easy via the app and it connected fine to my Google WiFi network.

The only downside is that the mic isn’t the best. If you’re after high quality sound, look elsewhere.

Amazing Camera - Perfect for Capturing a Robin's Nest Journey

I bought the Waze Cam v3 to document the full timeline of a robin's nest - from the moment the eggs were laid to the babies taking their first flight - and this camera has been incredible. The video quality is great, and I've been able to clearly monitor the eggs hatching, the feedings, and all the little moments in between.

This is something I missed out on last year, so being able to watch it all unfold this time has been really special. The camera has worked flawlessly and has given me a front-row seat to such a beautiful process. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to capture wildlife or keep an eye on pets.

Nice Camera

I made the mistake of ordering this thinking it was wireless. It is not so it did not fit what I needed it for. I gave iy to a family member and they report that its good but the app is iffy at times.

This Camera is a 10/10!

This is my second Cam v3 and I love it! I can speak through it listen through it, and record! My son has struggled with sleeping for his whole life, this camera gave me the resources to time stamp all the times he wakes up at night, which pushed his doctors to get him a Cpap. You can add a SD card and keep a backlog or pay a subscription on the app. We have a external SD and it slips in under the mount. Super easy to use, easy to set up, small in size, sturdy, the sound quality is GREAT!

Could Improve

What I really like about this camera is the easy to install and that you can control it in the Waze app which is a great app. The image quality overall is really good, the viewing angles and the motion detection is great as well. Very good options to mount, either in a wall or you can set it in a shelf just by making it stand on its base. Overall the quality of the product is really good, however I have 2 mayor complaints. The first of all is the Micro-USB port, which in these days and times there is no excuse for not using USB-C which is a superior and more reliable cable. The other issue is that the camera keeps losing connection every couple days to the point that I need to go and manually restart it. If this is your main security camera you definitely need to be on the lookout for connection issues since you don't want your main security camera to fail.

Outstanding

The Wyze Cam V3 is an improvement over the original Wyze Cam. It is more stable, offers better low-light performance, and delivers an enhanced image. The V3 is water-resistant and suitable for outdoor use. The app is well-designed and intuitive, also serving other Wyze products like their smart bulbs and doorbell cameras. Wyze provides several cloud subscriptions starting at $1.67 per month (per camera), or a Micro SD card (not included) can be utilized for local recording. Recordings can be accessed and reviewed from anywhere. I use these cameras to monitor our home and property, and I have been very satisfied with them.

Protecting my home

The Wyze Cam v3 is an excellent choice for both indoor and outdoor security. I’ve been using this camera, along with other Wyze products, for a while now, and I can confidently say they have been incredibly reliable. No outages, no connectivity issues, and no durability concerns—just consistent performance.

One of the standout features is the camera’s exceptional image quality. The video is crisp and clear, even in low-light conditions, making it easy to monitor details day or night.

The Wyze app integrates seamlessly with the camera, offering a wealth of features, including AI-powered notifications, motion detection, and more, all at a very reasonable price. The combination of affordability, functionality, and reliability makes it stand out in the market.

I have yet to find another security camera that matches this level of value and performance.

Amazing quality camera at entry level price

I have been using this Wyze indoor camera for some time to give my honest opinion on the camera. I have another set of wireless cameras for the outside of the house from a different brand so I wanted to compare to what I am used to.

Design: The Wyze is a small boxy unit in all black. I like that the housing is small and unobtrusive. The housing is all plastic and feels high quality and well made. It has a strong magnet in the back and a screw hole for installation. The unit must be hard-wired, so if you are not near an outlet, you need an extension cord. Alternatively, you might be able to connect it to a large external battery pack with the USB cable, but I’m not sure how practical that is. The camera can only be viewed and controlled using the Wyze app. There is a hidden micro SD card slot underneath the camera for storage of videos.

Camera quality: The camera is quite impressive for this price point. The quality of the image is very good, even in low light. The colors are bright and the images are generally clear, although it is small. The video is a little bit of a fishbowl quality but it’s not bothersome. There are very little complaints that I have about the camera and the image quality. It detects motion and starts recording pretty quickly so I am happy with the response time. I noticed that the camera gets a little warm when plugged in, even when not turned on. I have not tested it for heat when turned on constantly since I really only turn on the camera when I am away. I like the fact that I can turn the camera on or off easily.

Wyze app: The camera can only be used with the Wyze app, so I feel I must give some opinion on the app, although it is not the camera itself. The app is not the most intuitive one I have encountered, compared to others I have used. There are a lot of ads for other Wyze products, not just cameras, and I was surprised by their range. It took me some time to figure out how to access the recorded videos that are saved on the SD card. I kept trying to hit the ‘play’ button, and it takes you to a subscription that you have to pay for. Finally, I figured out that you have to hit the “SD” at the bottom of the screen to see the recorded videos under “Events”. None of this is intuitive. You should just be able to press ‘play’ and the recorded videos should play automatically without going through multiple steps. So you can use the camera and have recorded videos without any subscription, but the app tries hard to get you to subscribe by making it more cumbersome to access your videos. I like the live feed function so I can view at any time when I am not home to just check up on things.

Conclusion: I am surprisingly pleased with this little Wyze camera, despite the various limitations. I feel that you really get a great bang for your buck, although you are definitely not getting the top of the line features. I really like the camera video quality, the small size, the ease of install, and the live feed function. I think the Wyze app could be better, and they seem to really try hard to sell you stuff, either other products or their subscription based service. Once I figured out how to use the app, I was fine with the offerings because they are free. The drawbacks are minor, including the short length of the cord, which has to be plugged into at all times. I think this is a great entry level camera for indoor use based on the price.

Been fans of Wyze products since Kickstarter

Of course I’ll leave a review! The Wyze Cam v3 is an outstanding smart home security camera! The 1080p resolution delivers clear and crisp video, and the color night vision is a game-changer. It’s easy to set up, works seamlessly with Alexa and Google Assistant, and the motion detection feature is highly responsive. I appreciate the flexibility of cloud and SD card storage options. The two-way audio works well, and the black design looks sleek and blends in nicely. Whether indoor or outdoor, this camera offers great value for the price. works well but requites more purchases to do much

This Wyze camera works well, but be prepared to buy more items to go with it.

As is, it isn't much more than a live camera with voice capability. If you want to retain the video, you wither have to pay for a subscription or buy a mini disc to store recordings.

As is, this camera will send you motion alert still photos. It we have a lot of motion on our street so the push notifications are drequent. Last night it alerted 10+ times for nothing more than the wind blowing our garden flag.

It has face recognition, some kind of pet and delivery settings, but once again you have to pay extra so I don't know how those are.

Because it only sends a single still photo for motion alerts which means you may get the worst possible angle if someone is actually doing something they shouldn't.

Tobuse it outdoors you are also supposed to buy an outdoor adapter. More money. And find a place to plug it is that hopefully won't be easily foiled by anyone.

If you are prepared to spend more to make this really functional, then it can be a useful camera. But don't buy it alone or you won't get much.

They keep getting better

I've been using Wyze Cam's since 2019. 4 Wyze Cam's, and a Wyze Cam Pan. This V3 has an improved image, and the night viewing has been improved significantly. I use SD cards vs the cloud subscription. It's an affordable option though, currently starting at $1.67 per camera per month. The Wyze app has been recently overhauled, and looks completely new. The favorites page can now be setup showing multiple camera views, quick access for camera groups, and is now much faster for turning Wyze lights on and off. Mounting is done by securing the metal plate, either using the included screw, or with the double sided tape. Then simply attach the magnetic base of the camera to the plate.

Better Camera than the Previous Versions

I've had Wyze Cameras Version 1 and 2 (v1 & v2) for a long time. They have been very dependable and this Version 3 (v3) is no exception.

Some years ago, Wyze cameras had a widely publicized security/privacy problem that was solved through encryption of firmware and software.

This V3 camera is about the same size and looks as the previous v2 model but internally has more features.

Some of the new functions are night COLOR viewing (old versions had only IR view).

Also they incorporated a SIREN that can be handy to attract attention.

Wyze advertises this v3 camera as rain resistant but I would not risk exposing this cam to external environments because there are visible perforations were the speaker is located.

Resolution and colors really stand out compared to my other Wyze cameras.

I have included some snapshots of the Wyze app to give a better idea of camera functions & capabilities.

Note that upon adding this cam through the app, it will take a while updating its firmware. Its important not to disconnect it during this process.

The motive I have deducted one star is because there is a newer Wyze cam version 4 (v4), with 2.5K resolution, available at electronic stores for the same or less cost than this product.

Tampered Boxing

I received my WYZE camera with tampered boxing. The camera itself had scuffing and scratches and fingerprints all over the screen which I really didn’t mind but it validated that it had been opened before it got to my doorstep. I tried to move past that and just try to get it set up and it refused to connect to Bluetooth. I’m thinking I just got a defective camera out of the bunch, so I will be sending this back hopefully in exchange for a brand new untouched product. If the new camera works for me the 2 star rating could change

It works good but not good it wasn't in the box

Great color, and works as expected

I've been a long-time user of Wyze cameras. I have several throughout my home. Figured I could use another. I do have another v3, so, short of the color difference, I can't say there is too much of a difference between the one I had and this one. My original one was white, and this one is black.

It comes in a small box, and has everything you need to get started. A quick start guide, the camera, power cable, and power adapter. This unit is able to go outdoors, and the cable (Micro-USB) does have a seal around it to prevent water, which is nice. Not sure why they keep using micro-usb vs USB-C now, but, hey, it works.

I fired up my Wyze app, and indicated I wanted to add another camera. It stepped me through the process, by scanning a QR code from my phone on the camera, selecting the wifi network, and within a couple minutes we were in business. There was an initial firmware update required, which, for some reason, took about 4 times before it actually took. That was about the only negative thing I could give it.

Otherwise, it's been great. I picked up a cheap microsd card to put in it to expand it recording storage. I haven't been paying for the Wyze cloud storage, as I'd prefer not to have that extra cost. The microsd option has worked well for me in the past, although Wyze seems to be making it harder to continue to do so. For instance, if I want to go back and view past videos, at least on my iPhone, will just jump back to the live video vs showing what was recorded. Perhaps that is a bug, but even logging in online using my computer has been doing the same thing. That is a little frustrating.

Otherwise, this is a great little camera. Cool to have it in black now. While it's not 4k, 1080p is still pretty good, and very clear in comparison to previous things I've used. You can set options for motion, sounds, etc for recording, which is great. Highly recommend Wyze!

Great camera for the price. One I had shipped has a flat spot on the lens

Even though they say you can i wouldn't use this outdoors. The weather sealing strip is essentially a rubber band sleeve.

I don't know if seller is selling used or refurb units but my screen has a flat spot on the top area, hard to tell in the pictures since there is a glare.

The camera operates as it should and gives good quality picture, HOWEVER the camera i received also need 5 to 6 consecutive firmware updates, So I don't know how old the stock is but it basically had to update one after another.

compared to my other wyze v3 this one is slower to load. By a significant amount This might be a firmware issue, so I did not discredit it in my star rating.

If those aren't a bother than its a great product especially at the price point.

It came on time but the box containing the camera was open and the camera lens had smudge marks on it and would not start, NO red light displayed at startup, very disappointed.

Defective

I made a purchase of 4 cameras and all came defective with scratches. It seems as if all were used. Even the wires was coming out and 1 of the cameras was not working.

Great Night Vision - ANNOYING NON-STOP SOUND

Everything about this camera seemed like a great upgrade from the V2 wyze cam. In fact, everything about the camera itself seems great so far. My only complaint is that the AC adapter for the camera makes a non-stop clicking sound. If you are in the same room you can always hear this little background noise and if you get close it can actually hurt your ears.

I have a V2 wyze cam in the same room as the V3. It has been there a long time and has never made this annoying sound. I'm not sure if it's just my camera or if it's all V3s, but it is a real bummer/annoyance.
