Print quality is abysmal.

Attached are the printer test pages. Need I say more?

The bullseyes on the right are misaligned, but the ones on the left aren't. So magenta and cyan are skewed. I've calibrated and troubleshot, but it's just this crappy printer.

And it prints slow.

And the toner is super expensive.

Buy an inkjet instead.

It Is All About The Paper

Great printer for all it features. However, why I didn't give it a 5 out of 5 was all the issues with the setup I had.

To make a long story short about correcting the light printing. Read on Reddit about someone switched reams of paper and it printed fine/dark. I bought some Hammermill Premium Inkjet and Laserjet paper and the printing look great on that paper. With generic copy paper I was using on my other printer didn't work. Just looked washed out and faded. Additionally, I went into the setup and made sure I wasn't on Eco mode and a few other items to make sure I was getting the darkest print available. This took multiple days of trial and error and if it wasn't for that Reddit post, I would of probably sent the printer back.

Additionally, there is an app to set up the printer. I got the app. Had issues where it kept saying the printer wasn't in setup mode. Once I got through that hurdle and set everything up on the app and hit the complete button, I got an error saying it couldn't save/set changes. So, I did everything in the front panel.

Finally, (not the printer's fought) I had issues emailing from the printer. Turns out I had to add TXT record which added Google to the domain so I could email Gmail accounts. Again, not the printer's fought. Just another gotcha.

All in all, once all the setup issues were corrected and I used the correct paper, the printer works like a dream. Great printing, copier works, scanner works (Windows 11 I used Scan which is by Microsoft and came from the Windows Store. Also, as stated, took me some time. But, I did get the email portion working as well.

Pinter delivered USED. Various issues (see review)

Duplex printing jams continuously. Printer delivered USED. Black and Cyan toner were half full out of the box. Waste toner bottle already had black toner in it (used).

Does not work

This printer is horrible- does not set up nor print. Installation wizard will not set up properly- makes the printing sound like it is going to work but nothing happens

50 B&W pages from initial toner

So got 50 B&W pages from initial black toner (it arrived @ 60%, so was expecting 1500x0.6 =900). Colors came at 100% and now 60/70/60% after 51 pages, so a fraction of 1500 color pages.

Hoping they shipped cartridges with little toner else I won’t be able to afford supplies.

50black pages per cartridge is crazy.

Generously Giving 3 stars now as all works good except this hopefully anomaly. I will adjust stars up or down after I get a new high capacity cartridge and see what’s up.

Very happy with this color laser MFP

I have not had this long, but it was a joy to set up and connect to three devices. I am more tech savvy than average and I had some small issues connecting to laptops, but it didn't take long until things started working. It's small screen is touch-enabled which makes a lot of small admin tasks a lot easier that other similar printers I've owned. The main reason for me for providing a five stars review though is price. I really expected to find something undesirable with the quality for such a low price, but this seems to be a very excellent color laser MFP. Best of the three MFPs I've owned anyway. Impressed.

Smart purchase, Happy with the ease to connect and the features

Just what I needed. Easy to setup, although I really hate hunting for the tabs that you have to take off before running the printer through the test printing. Be aware that the plastic attachments need to be removed from the internal printer cartridges. They look well engineered and functional compared to the rest of the obvious plates tabs.

App worked great and found my wifi without a problem. Great quality output. I try not to give 5 stars because for the most part everything could be better but I didn't find that to be the case with this printer.

Scanner is Garbage, Windows Driver Won't Install, Exercise in Frustration

Well, I bought this printer because I was tired of fighting with my old HP Inkjet. I print very infrequently (like a few times per year) but I'm a graphic designer and I regularly need to scan artwork. Sooo... this seemed like a good choice.

It prints fine, unfortunately, the scanner is just complete garbage -which means that it also doesn't work as a copier. Attached is a scan - it's just a page of warnings that came with the printer, but it's so light that you can't see anything. Totally unacceptable. Same thing happens when you try to make a copy. If you crank up the darkness on the copy settings via the little keypad, you can make it a little bit better, but there's still a big white section in the middle - not OK.

I can't adjust any of the scanner settings because I can't install the Xerox software. It came with a CD/DVD, but my computer doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. So I downloaded the "SmartStart" driver from Xerox, but it can't "discover" the printer (using Windows 11 for reference.)

So I'm just completely stuck. I'm going to try contacting Xerox, but I think I'm just going to have to return this. I'm really disappointed and grumpy because I really NEED the printer to get my taxes done.

Anyhow, I'd suggest saving yourself some trouble and buying something else.

Black cartridge does not last!

I purchased this printer August 2023. It is now September and the printer is indicating the black cartridge is already low. I may have printed 200 pages at most. Very disappointing and frustrating.

Update: after replacing the printer cartridge twice (very expensive) this printer still prints poorly. The bottom image is the original and the top is the printed copy. This is with the brand new cartridge.

I do not recommend this printer or seller. I will avoid ever buying another Xerox printer.

I would have rated zero stars if I could have.

Eats Up Paper / Paper Jams Way Too Much

I use this product for small business and it eats up the paper entirely too much which it is not cheap paper being used (vinyl labels for printing) although print quality is great, it jams and continues to print sideways even after selecting the different paper type, using manual feed, etc. It is costing way more than its even worth at this point. Second issue is that although the price of the printer was reasonable, the fact that they get you on the toners that you'll need, you may as well get a d*mn new printer every time! Now that's highway robbery for me. Not satisfied with the product like I thought I would be. When I need to try to do some minor tech support from their site, its not very helpful in resolving the issues, long-term. They continue to reoccur each time I go to use this printer. Disappointing. I uploaded the picture of the printer along with the jacked up printing it did. Something has to be done about this.. Im ready to send it back and get my refund on these toners that cost just as much as the printer!

Malfuncted in few days

Less than a week of getting the printer and less than 50 pages printed. It's now missing about 3/4" section along the length of the paper.

What a rip-off!

This is both the most expensive and the worst printer I have ever had.

I paid $700 for an all in one that has substandard scanning ability and can only print about 1000 copies before it decides you are all out of toner and will no longer print ANYTHING. Now, simply adding toner does nothing. I can find no replacement toner chips or chip resetters for this model. What is the point of putting a refill port on a toner cartridge if there is no way to reset the cartridge and make it useable again?! If I wanted to pay 30 cents per printed page, I would just go to a local library.

Now, I have to decide if I want to spend another $600 for new toner cartridges or just toss this $700 POS in a dumpster.

I will never purchase another Xerox product again!!!

***Update***

after wasting more time an money trying to force this thing to print, scan, and Fax, I finally put this $700 hunk of garbage where it belongs. (See pic)

Annoying interface, bad GUI

I really hate the interface on this printer. For starters - after you set the Admin password - you have to make sure you type a capital A at the start of the word Admin, the printer will not accept admin or ADMIN (usernames should never be case sensitive). Then good luck figuring out how to configure the email settings for Gmail. I attached the configuration we were finally able to make work (after a lot of experimentation) you'll also need to setup an APP PASSWORD for that gmail account.

This printer DOES NOT have an address book so you have to either type in the email of every person you scan a document for or create SHORTCUTS for every one, but the shortcut interface is too long and confusing.

anyway, I'm not a fan. At least so far it seems to be printing okay.

Perfect printer for home!

I've always been stuck with inkjets at home which is not a problem...my problem is I never use them enough so after sitting for months and its time to print, the print heads have to be cleaned, then deep cleaned, then aligned, then print what you want multiple times until the quality looks good. You know the pain! This one will fire right up and print a perfect copy first time, every time.

Print quality is excellent but may have to do some more tweaking; printing from my iPhone seems to yield very slightly better results. Scanning also works great, it is relatively quick and can dump the scan to your PC or laptop via wifi with the software installed or directly to a USB thumb drive. The software is easy to use and allows you to save multiple one-click, custom settings (ie- one for color picture with auto crop and JPEG format, another for letter size B&W PDF format, etc.)

I did some research before I bought this so hopefully I can condense and share what I've learned:

- While you're sitting there with a big smile on your face after you clicked 'Submit Order', go to the Xerox support page for this printer and bookmark. After your printer arrives and you get it setup, download the most recent drivers and TWAIN scan software. You should also download and update the firmware which is easy. Save the unzipped file to a USB thumb drive, plug it into the front USB port of the printer and select the 'Print from USB' option.

- By default this printer will print using the 2-sided option, annoying for most people. You will need to set your print defaults/preferences in Windows to correct this.

- If you're setting up over wifi, set a static IP address. I got the IP from my Xfinity wifi app then set this address as static in the network settings within the printer touchscreen menus. The printer won't be changing IP addresses like the default dynamic mode (a security feature) and should maintain a constant connection....no issues for me thus far!

I hope to get well over 10 years out this as it will never be overburdened being in a light use, home situation. Overall, very pleased!!

Great printer!

So far so good. You need to download the print driver from the Xerox website to activate the scanning. Very easy set up. I’m happy with my purchase.
