This truly is a global radio. Out of the box I was Abel to verify & listen to Burbank California & Jacksonville Florida now mind you I am using an active loop but hands down the D808 works as well if not better than some you would be paying near $400. Please see attached photos. This unit comes with broad & fine tuning. Included is a shortwave long antenna, USB A to C cable for charging the 2200 mAh 18650 & a fantastic speaker. You can't go wrong with this radio & the added feature of AM FM & Air traffic makes it all worth it.

Absolute blast playing with this
Great little radio that does ssb AND air. The radio has a great feel to it and is pretty easy to use considering. The battery life seems very impressive as Iv only charged it once in the 3 weeks of playing with it. Over all it’s a great portable radio that’s easy to tune and operate, my only issue is it seems to not receive some bands like 20m which is a bummer.

Excellent all around radio for diverse interests.
This is the IC chip updated Sangean 808 radio with the airplane band added also. It picks up signals across the entire bands covered. This is the big brother to the Sihuadon R-108 radio. There are 3 differences: The 808 is roughly twice as large with a better speaker. They both have excellent shortwave coverage but the 808 lets you listen to both upper & lower sideband transmissions. The 108 has no sideband selection. The 808 allows you to select your frequencies by the meter band. Different shortwave meter bands are dedicated to different uses: ham radio, international broadcast stations, international standards such as time signals, accurate frequency markers for calibration, and emergency broadcasts when regular communications are not available. The CB radio frequencies are also covered (11 meters). The 808 has more control buttons for ease of use. Both radios have full features. Both radios are portable. They have similar looks.
2 optional things that I do with all of my radios is to put bigger batteries in them when possible. The 808 uses standard 18650 lithium batteries. It comes with a 2000 mA one which is adequate for most use. I changed it to a 3000 mA battery simply for convenience of long periods of use between charging. The other thing is to change the antenna to a longer one. I favor an extendable antenna that is 100 - 115 cm long for better signal reception from Long Wave all the way up to aircraft.

Great starting radio. Most bang for your buck
Attached video is a religion broadcast from Madagascar, 8,800 miles away!
GREAT RADIO-
hello I live In USA Ohio and wanted to give some insight on this neat radio that I've had for 2 days.
-The FM works great (can get stations over 100 miles away)
The AM (MW) is acceptable if your outside. (The radio does NOT use either of the external antenna options for AM (MW) it uses an internal antenna for AM ONLY)
-SW- Incredible quality! I've heard broadcasts from Madagascar (East of Africa), China, Spain, Cuba, France, and even Australia (very faint due to propagation) but it's there
Airband- the airband is great I've heard hundreds of transmissions so far, most very clear.
SSB works excellent- use it to drown out powerful stations to focus on smaller ones or find ham operators.
The battery- Lasts about 30 hours if you never turn off the radio (40 hours with upgraded batteries)
100 is a little steep for a radio but this one comes with all bands and is very aesthetic. You can't find a radio that has as as much functionality as this one for under $100

Great design and good sound quality for its size.
This radio sounds very good for its size, and performance for the price is quite good. Reception is super. Great AM sensitivity even with the built-in antenna. Has many features like ssb, external antenna, air bands and auto scan. I like the fine tuning knob, which was helpful in SSB.

Excellent Shortwave Radio with RDS on FM
I Have several XHDATA radios and they manufacture quality radios. Their sensitivity let's you listen to far away stations from all over the planet on Shortwave. This particular radio is used as reference against all current Shortwave radios made because of it's excellent sensitivity and selectivity to dig out weak stations. Is a SSB capable radio so you can listen to Amateur Radio, airplanes and military communications.
On Medium Wave it's picks distant AM stations within the country and DX stations outside the country. FM audio is excellent and the RDS stations information is displayed for your information an added improvement on the radio on this latest version.
The radio tunes the AIR bands so you can listen to your local airport tower communications. LW long wave can be listened too with local beacons and European stations using this band.
This is an exceptional radio others are compared to with excellent sensitivity and selectivity in a perfect size for travel. I am happy
to see how XHDATA provide us with the best portable radios available. I am very happy with my radio!
