I am happy with my Yahmaha Sub..; The sound is not distorted when I pump-up the valume; ( I don't exceed the valume of course, too high vol will distort any spearkers, specially inside a room)

It's an OK subwoofer for one of my smaller rooms to setup a 5.1 system.
The frequency response is pretty flat till 30Hz. It provided enough power to fill the room and rattle floor a little.
Opened and suppriesly found there was no sound absorbing padding at all. Given the power level the box does not have much vibrations or resonating which is another surprise. Will add some isolation materials late.
Opened front cover, the speaker has just a usual paper cone. The pins were glued to the box. To take cover off need a little force. Be careful not to break it.
Overall, the response curve is pretty flat. I used apps Frequency Generator and Spectroid to do a rough test.
One thing, there is no auto on/off. I use a wifi AC plug to turn it on/off.

This is supposedly a 100w subwoofer, but the bass is weaker than I would have expected and on taking a closer look at the back panel, it’s only 40w

I must say that I am Big on sound quality in a major way. So I've read reviews on this item positive and negative and I remember some complaining that this subwoofer does not perform. I'm not sure what they were connecting their speaker to, but when I turned mine on as it is connected to my Denon S540BT it exceeded expectation. Rich bass quality and it picks up all the low register sounds. Simply keep the setting half volume as suggested and the subwoofer does the rest. Your music and movies will be top tier sound quality without a doubt. I will be purchasing another one since I have 2 subwoofer outputs on my receiver.

You cannot go wrong when you buy a Yamaha audio product. After some research and deliberations I bought this sub only to be enthralled with the output. So much so that even the kids love the vibration it creates. It neatly tucks in to a corner of the room. Tiny but power packed.
The low frequencies are very well amplified for rich detailing. No reason to not loveeeee it.

I’ve been looking for a subwoofer to go along with my Yamaha ATS-107 soundbar I bought awhile back. I wanted to stick to the brand name and didn’t want to break the bank. After days of research, I bought this. And I am beyond happy!
The sound goes from 1 to 10 and I found the sweet spot to be 4 and 5 for the room it’s in. Playing movies with this on is amazing! It really shakes up my room (sometimes the house too!) and makes scenes more intense. I highly recommend this if your a gamer too! I own a PS4 and playing my games with this on really makes me appreciate the hard work developers put into the sound. Action scenes, racing games, shooting, everything pops at you.
Overall if you looking for a subwoofer and don’t want to break the bank, I recommend this! The only thing is it doesn’t come with a RCA cable. You have to buy one separately. And make sure it’s under 10ft so you won’t lose sound quality.

This subwoofer is amazing. Plugged it to my Yamaha ATS 1080 sound bar and it sounds great. Only need to turn it halfway because anything higher rattles my windows. Music sounds awesome and Movies sound like I'm at the theater. Get this one over the smaller 8" model you won't regret it.

I previously had an decent subwoofer. So I decided to upgrade. Let me tell you, this subwoofer is amazing! I had to cut back the volume for one. The lies on music with deep bass power the room. On orchestra music, the bass from drum and concert bass are so good. It did take. Some adjustments, but I highly recommend this. Only small drawback as others have mentioned is it has no auto on off. But you can solve this by getting a WiFi plug if you have Echos, ect.

Much more power than I would ever need. At half my house sounds like a movie theater. The best part of it is I also bought the accompanied sound bar and EVERYTHING works seamlessly with my TV to adjust..turn off and on...and use the simulated sound effects..sports..movie..surround and more that actually work.

Had to replace my pioneer receiver , and my old Yamaha subwoofer bought back in 2009. I replaced the receiver with a newer pioneer receiver , but wasn't happy with it. I bought this Yamaha receiver which I love , had to stay with Yamaha and bought this subwoofer. Not only does it sound better than my last woofer but this is the exact same 100 watt system with the same 10" speaker but a better cone that really does make this woofer sound more bass E er !!! And with this 7.2 150 watt home theater sound system it just blows away my old set up. Sounds great with my Samsung 55" 4K TV , just wonderful.
