A quality headset

I have 3 desktop computers and 3 laptop computers that are all Win 11 pro. The laptops all have cameras in them, but none have a built-in microphone. I found this out when I tried to attend a zoom meeting and I had no microphone. I don't often have a need for one, but I probably should have one, because you never know. With that in mind, I ordered this Yealink UH35 USB-C/A Headset with Noise Cancelling Microphone. This came with good and clear instructions and diagrams on what all of the buttons do. The listing states that this wired headset features dual mic noise cancellation and acoustic shield technology that effectively eliminates background noise. Those are a bit difficult to test, but a Zoom call, and later on a Microsoft Teams call was tested and on my listening end, if there was any noise in that room, it was cancelled out, as I heard only the speaker's voice clearly. On his end, he said that I came through very crisp and clear without any extraneous noise. I was able to easily answer and end calls and adjust volume using the buttons on the headset and mute the call just by moving the boom mic in an upright position, it re-engages after moving it back down in front of my mouth. The cable length is 5.58 feet long, which is plenty long for what I'll be using it for. My first thought was that longer would be better but then it could get caught on my office chair if I moved it in my home office. It was very comfortable to wear but an hour was all that I tested it with, and it is an over the ear headset. It's very lightweight which can fool you if you tend to associate quality with weight, but after using it, this is a good quality headset. It's not plug and play, which would simplify installation, instead of typing in a moderately lengthy web address, but after downloading and installing the program, it worked the first time. I also liked that this is a wired headset, so I don't have to fiddle with Bluetooth, that sometimes is finicky if not implemented correctly. A good value for the money.

Complimented on how clear I sound

I've worked from home for years and have used various headsets for my phone calls. I need a good corded option as a backup in case I have issues with my wireless headset. Well, this has become my goto headset. I've recently had Bluetooth issues and was losing calls. This headset has been rock solid on my MacBook Air. I've recieved several compliments on how clear it sounds since I've been using it. It is lightweight and comfortable. I love the auto mute function when you flip up the boom mic. It works very well, especially at this price point. I may give the Bluetooth version a shot after how well this one has done.

Comfortable to wear and good sound quality

Ordered this for online meeting at home, it's very similar to my other one from Plantronics which is on the expensive side. It's comfortable to wear (slightly worse than Plantronics because the ear pieces are slightly smaller) and the sound quality is good. The controls are on the head phone body which I like it better than the Plantronics one which has a small control hanging on the wire and I could easily bump the buttons on the desk and accidentally mute or unmute so that's a plus.

The Consumer

Excellent for Teleconferencing

I recorded the Yealink Headset using Voicememo on my Mac and attached the file to a video file. The mic sound is excellent to me, a very flat recording. There is some sibilance that was emphasized through the file transfers. When I use the headphones in a Zoom meeting, the sound output is natural. The noise reduction is very good, cleaning up the air conditioner and other extraneous room sounds.

The headphones are comfortable on-ear sort. The sound quality of the headphone speakers is very good, acceptable for music, and respectable for a Zoom meeting.

Decent professional USB headset

Comes with the headset, storage pouch, and paperwork, in a cardboard box.

The plug is your standard USB-A. I plugged it into my Windows PC and the device was recognized and working in seconds. Nice!

The headset is surprisingly comfortable. The earpads are soft. The band is bendy but not too tight. At least for short to medium term wear, it doesn't seem like it will be unpleasant to wear.

The mic is in just the right position. You can lift it up to mute yourself, where a pleasant voice with a British accent lets you know that you are "muted." Similarly, when you lower the mic back down she says "unmuted."

The mic audio quality for speech is good. Crisp and intelligible.

The incoming audio quality is... okay. A little hollow and muddy when listening to audio.

Overall: A fine headset for calls or Web meetings. Lightweight. Obviously, not for audiophiles.
